    The Traditional Banh Mi

Traditional Bahn Mi: 2/5 too much breading, too little meat. Chicken pate was awful Beef pho: 3/5 Broth was flavorful, fair amount of meat, however portion was small for $16. Also wasn't served with basil. (My fave) Pork bun: 1/5 bun was stiff not fluffy.. Korean bbq filling tasted more like teriyaki flavor. Meat and bun were very dry! Service: not too friendly Overall wouldn't come back. I'll stick to Fresno Pho!

This was the worst Vietnamese iced coffee I've ever had. I kept taking sips to see if I was crazy or if it was truly not good. Then I threw it away half-full. I have no idea what they did wrong. My kids liked the milk tea.

I always like going to Banh-Tastic. They offer a variety of South East Asian food. Majority of the time , I order Khao Soi Noodles and Grilled Pork Banh Mi Sandwich. Today, I had Banh Cuon. This is very similar to the Chinese version of Churn Fun. For a light meal Banh Cuon is ideal and also nice for brunch. Banh Tastic has friendly service with nice atmosphere , a great place to dine at ***May is Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Support Asian Owned businesses. Stop # 7 of 13. May 16 2023***

I'm so excited to have more vegetarian & vegan options in the area! The cashiers were sweet and the food was fresh & flavorful. I got the tofu spring rolls with the best peanut sauce & the tofu bao bun. The tofu was nicely seasoned and grilled. Would definitely come back and can't wait to try the tofu banh mi.

Was in the mood for a Bahn Mi and was happy to have found this place! I ordered the brown sugar boba tea and the grilled pork Bahn Mi and really enjoyed both! The staff was helpful and friendly even when I changed my mind after ordering. Super clean and trendy modern atmosphere. Will definitely be back!

As an Asian who has lived in San Jose, and down south in OC/LA area, has been to way too many Chinese town/Saigon town, and has had millions of bánh mì, This is not a true banh mi. I will say, the fillings are good, but the bread is not a baguette which would make it true to a banh mi. Vietnamese cooking is very much influenced by the French because they were colonized by France for a period of time. Wished they would have waited to open until they got their bread correct, the breading is just so thick and so chewy there's; no crunch to it, hence not a baguette, the filling is pretty good, if they can get their bread right we might have a decent place in the valley and we didn't have to drive to Fresno for bahn mi. My husband and I also agree, they need to pickle their carrot and daikon little bit longer, it did not quite pick up on the pickling flavor. The crunch from the pickling is there, the flavor isn't. I will try again in the future, hopefully with a baguette. If you're going to call your place a banh mi place, it's gotta be a banh mi place.

If you want a really delicious Banh mi this place is NOT it! Extremely mid! Bland pork with the grilled pork Banh mi I ordered! The options for pâté and spreads are nothing more than a filler for flavor that unfortunately still lack! Roll isn't even toasted! Zero frills and poor sandwich. I'm sure you can find better else where. If ever in Oakland stop by Pho Sho Dough in North Oakland. Makes this place look like a joke!

Finally, a banh mi shop in Visalia! The hubby and I ordered the traditional (which is the dac biet meat combo), grilled pork, rainbow chip prawns, dragonfruit tea, and rose milk tea. The banh mi was just ok to me. Bread was not the crispy baguette but did have a soft texture, still good, but not French baguette. Was expecting the daikon and carrots to be pickled, but it tasted plain. Meat for the traditional was 1 slice each, wish it had more. Hubby was given grilled beef instead of pork, but the meat still tasted good. The rainbow prawn chips were more than enough for 2 people. Nice crunch with a hint of shrimp flavor. Drinks were amazing, sadly no toppings like boba on the menu. The dragonfruit tea had small pieces of dragonfruit on the bottom, maybe freeze dried. It had subtle flavor, light, and refreshing. Good for those who don't like their drinks sweet. The rose milk tea was amazing. Perfect amount of sweetness to creaminess and can taste the rose flavor. It looks like a family owned shop, so please come and support your small local business! I will come back and try their banh xeo (vietnamese crepes) and rice noodles in the future. Since this week was their grand opening, they might just need a few weeks to adjust to their workflow and ingredients/recipes. Come and give Banh-tastic a try!

I've tried this place twice and as much as I want to give it the benefit of the doubt... their Vietnamese sandwiches are not it. I haven't tried the rest of their menu so perhaps I'll give it a third try and update my review. But as of right now, it's where it stands... Both times I got a sandwich from here, the bread was cold and hard. Flavors aren't that great either. It's gonna be hard for them to top one of my favorite banh mi shops I've been going to since I was child in fresno. First time I went, the girl claimed they were out of Thai tea and next thing you know, it's being served to a customer who came after us. If you didn't want to make it, just say that.

I've definitely been coming here since the beginning, thanks to my mom! It's stood out from the very beginning & I love how much they have expanded. There's something for everyone on their men. I think they have some of the best matcha's around (but if you drink your matcha with LOTS of sweetener.. you probably won't like a real matcha from here) -- I say this bc people complain that it taste like GRASS... and well, it damn near is (green tea leaves) lol -- all jokes aside, their drinks and food are all hand crafted and all made and / or roasted in house! I have not once ever had a complaint about this place. I love the ambience inside and out. Plenty of spaces to work from (one of my fav spots) Service is always ask expected for hand crafted drinks and food! The workers are always very knowledgeable about their menu items & products, love that! Their pop tarts... if you can get them when they have them.. TRY THEM OUT!! Actually, all their pastry's and breakfast items are delicious! (I just always forget to take pictures) haha I will always come here for food/homemade pastries , a drink or to work!

You find it because someone told you about it, or because you were looking for a place that feels a little more city than Central Valley. Brick walls, hanging art, a patio out front call it rustic, call it urban, call it hipster. Whatever the word is, it fits. Inside, the place hums. Not the quiet hum of a sleepy café, but the full‑volume buzz of people who treat coffee shops like co‑working spaces. The whole back section was a sea of laptops when I walked in, a slow tide of remote workers drifting out as the hour passed. Young folks, older folks, groups talking over each other a mix that tells you this spot has become a kind of community hub, even if the noise makes it hard to read without noise‑canceling buds. I came for a simple moment, a London Fog and a book. The tea was good, made with Rishi, a brand I'd never heard of but wouldn't mind trying again. I sipped it slowly, trying to sink into the page, but the chatter kept pulling me back to the room. Not a bad thing, just not the right place for quiet reflection. Some cafés are built for solitude; this one is built for motion. The staff was friendly, your standard modern barista crew, casual, quick, and easygoing. They run a tight operation, even offering mobile orders, something you usually see in bigger industrial coffee spots. Pastries, sandwiches, teas, espresso, the menu covers all the bases. Finding the entrance was its own adventure. Two doors, a divider in the middle, and a moment of "Wait... which side do I go through?" Not a dealbreaker, just one of those quirks that makes you laugh once you figure it out. Lighting is interesting here, low lamps mixed with a flood of natural light pouring in from the center of the shop. It gives the place a warm‑meets‑industrial feel, like a café that grew out of a warehouse and decided to keep the personality. Will I come back? Maybe. It's a great spot for people‑watching, conversation, or getting work done. But for reading, for sinking into a book with a drink, it's a place that demands either silence from the world or silence from your earbuds. Component Coffee Lab is loud, lively, and loved, just not quiet. And maybe that's the point.

The upstairs feels like a classic restaurant, while the downstairs has a cool speakeasy vibe that makes the experience even more unique. We ordered an appetizer, pizza, pasta, and the pistachio cake, and every single dish was outstanding. The pizza had the perfect amount of cheese for that satisfying cheese pull. The pasta wasn't just one-dimensional. Everything was perfectly seasoned, tasted fresh, and the quality really stood out. The pistachio cake was the perfect ending to the meal. It had just the right amount of sweetness, allowing the distinct pistachio flavor to shine through, complemented by a subtle hint of coconut that made it even more delicious. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, and made us feel welcome throughout the meal. I'll definitely be coming back the next time I'm in town. Highly recommend!

So having a massive jar of soda already right in front of me? Huge win. Now, moving on to the slightly traumatizing part: they did not bring out bread to the table. Excuse me? I'm sorry, but if I am sitting down for Italian, table bread is not an optional courtesy--it is a fundamental human right. And it became an even bigger issue when my fettuccine arrived, because the portion size was... let's just say aggressively small for a dinner entree. I was expecting a meal, not a decorative sample. However... it was infuriatingly good. They make their own pasta fresh in-house, and the texture was honestly undeniable. My husband ordered the Margherita pizza, and he literally declared--with complete, uncharacteristic enthusiasm--that it was hands-down the best Margherita pizza he has ever gotten. So, massive points there. What was not a massive point, however, was the subterranean seating situation. We were escorted downstairs into the basement, which was pitch black. But more importantly: the stairs are completely unlit. I'm sorry, but they are actively asking to get sued. It is a litigious nightmare waiting to happen. Someone is going to take one wrong step in the dark, tumble down that staircase, and own the entire restaurant by next Tuesday. They are practically begging for a lawsuit. That being said... despite the pitch-black staircase of death and the tragic lack of dinner rolls, overall? I really liked it. The food completely won me over, and I would definitely go back. I will just be bringing a flashlight and my own emergency focaccia next time.
