Time I ordered vs the time I got my order

I'm sorry but I used to love sol bol but they need to get it together. Ever since they moved into the mix they are so all over the place and can't keep order straight. I hadn't gone in a while because of this but my daughter wanted it today so we went. When we got there, there wasn't many people waiting. Maybe 4-5. My daughter ordered a bowl and I ordered a bagel and overnight oats so nothing crazy or some huge order. We waited patiently at the bar top while I heard workers say we have to do online orders first people have to wait. I also saw a worker making the "overnight oats" with pre packaged genetic instant oatmeal packets and hot water then just mixing in stuff. That is not overnight oats. I finally asked the workers about my order as I was frustrated it had been almost 50 min. One kid shrugged his shoulders and said well we're flooded with orders right now. A few min later I was handed my "overnight oats". You gave me warm instant oats made with water I didn't even see any almond milk added with my toppings and that took over 50 min. Then he asked the girl who always wears sunglasses about my bagel and she loudly sighs and just walks away and throws it together quickly. She practically throws it on the counter to me and says sorry for the wait. We won't be back. It is ridiculous to run a business that way, charge the prices you do when I can sit there and see almost all the ingredients being used are generic first street brand from smart n final. I understand places get busy but it wasn't busy when we walked in. After almost an hour of waiting for two simple things there was probably 10-15 more people standing around. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space also looked like a complete disaster and stuff was just everywhere and not clean at all.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Being that dirty and just a mess at 1020 when you open at 9 is crazy.

Visiting town for work, I came in at 7:30AM when the cafe opens & no one was there... Once the team came my order was immediately taken however it took 40 mins for a sandwich!!! I'm Vegan and ordered the veggie panini - when I finally went to eat at 1PM my first bite had cheese!!! I ordered this sandwich because it did not have cheese in the recipe. I am starving and pissed. DO NOT GO HERE

Juice shop/cafe in an interesting food court type area. This area of Visalia is pretty cool. All the old buildings have a great aesthetic. The açaí bowl I got was on its own pretty standard. The menu was pretty interesting.

First timer trying Sol Bol Visalia ordered online was ready in 15 minutes. Right in the middle of Downtown Visalia. Easy to find fast and friendly service. Sol Bol included organic açaí topped with granola, bananas, strawberries, and topped with honey.Sooo good will definitely be back!

Okay, hands down! By far, one of the BEST acai bowls in Visalia! I have gone to another place thinking I was going to get a legit acai bowl but ended up being a mixture of other things. If I'm going to get an acai bowl, I want a legit acai bowl! And oh my goodness! I got the Sunser Bowl and added peanut butter. Perfect lunch for this hot weather in the county! Customer service was awesome. This was about $11, and it was definitely worth the price. It's located in the heart of Visalia. Very cute little shop as there are other food shops inside.

They make fantastic bowls if deliciousness!

My mother called and ordered two large açaí bowls with all the goodies like fruit and granola and peanut butter on the side. The worker was very kind and said it would be 7 minutes. We went to get it. In these times, you just go up to the door. Masks worn by workers and required. Great service and delicious bowls! Highly recommended!

I think I am going to end up here for breakfast everyday my kids are in theater camp these next two weeks. Their food is so delicious, and they have so many options that look good. So far I have tried their fig and brie panini. I thought it was really good except the arugula was awkward on it. I've always thought of arugula as a salad ingredient, and not a vegetable to be cooked. The fig and brie are perfect together though. Their iced tea was refreshing and delicious. This morning I had their orange vanilla smoothie, shortbread cookies, and overnight oats. While all of them were excellent, my favorite was the smoothie. Those flavors paired well together. I can't wait to go back tomorrow to try something new.

Ordered online, and picked up in store. My only complaint was I didn't realize I made the pick up time when the high school takes a lunch and Main Street gets swarmed with high school kids grabbing lunch. So I had to stand in the single line while all the kids placed their order. Maybe have a separate line for online orders.. since it's already paid for and we can just grab and go! Otherwise everything was perfect and delicious!!

It was busy during the lunch hour on a Sunday, so we got our name down on the clipboard waitlist. It was about a 20-30 min wait for a party of 6, with 6-7 smaller parties ahead of us. The food was good, and portions are very generous! I enjoyed the chicken fried steak over hash browns with eggs. Expect to take leftovers back if you're a small eater. Service was friendly and welcoming. What can improve: interior temp/AC - felt a bit hot/stuffy and couldn't tell if the AC was on inside, though it was better than the 100 degrees outside. Bathrooms aren't very clean. 4.5 but will round up!

The indoor seating place is well placed and doesn't feel too crowded. Being from out of town, been fortunate to have their breakfast and lunch. Breakfast: had the chicken fried steak, egg and hashbrown. Big portion enough to take some home. The breakfast was good but nothing flavorful to brag about but what you would expect for a good chicken fried steak. Cooked perfect. Lunch: had the fried burger and regular fries. The burger was a good size, seasoned well and cooked (medium) as requested. The fries were plain and i would recommend the curly fries. I also had the sampler plate. Onion rings: cut and cooked good. Fried pickles: tasted as they should. Cheese curds: batter well but needed and little longer to cook. The cheese had that laffy taffy stretch. Chicken wings: buffalo. The flavor and cook was tasteful but just too small. About the size of a fun size snicker. Overall: the service and food is still great. I recommend this place for sure. FYI, they do have pastries that looked good but I didn't get any.

Now…read morethat I am an adult with my own family, we don't often dine out for breakfast, but when we do, Valhalla is my favorite spot. Lots of great places with great food, and friendly staff. But what makes Valhalla really stand out from the rest, is their in Äbelskivers (common spelling). They're basically little pancake balls, which you can get with a variety of jellies and powdered sugar. I like all the jellies and apple butter, with powdered sugar on top of the jellies. They're really outstanding. My two favorite dishes that I tend to switch between each time I visit are their Chicken Fried Steak and eggs, which is always delicious, and the Rande Omelette, named for the founding owner's husband. My family all have their favorites, like The Danish Breakfast, whilst some just simply order the (5) Äbelskivers, by themselves. The staff is always friendly, the restaurant and bathrooms are always clean, and the service is always fast. Valhalla also has a gift shop with lots of great items to peruse whilst you wait for a table (which usually doesn't take long), or after you've enjoyed your meal. They have a couple of different rooms for dining. One where you can have the room all to yourself if you have a large party, and another that used to be the (kids) "Train room". This room had a little Thomas the train and little toys and activities like felt boards and whatnot to keep kiddos entertained. My kiddos are grown, so I don't know if they still have that room set up for families with small kids or not, but it is a separate room off from the main dining area. There are two 1-seater bathrooms, off of the main dining area, and another bathroom closer to the entry/gift shop area. There is a small parking lot, but if that is full, you can usually find parking on the street out front, or there are a couple of free parking lots nearby. If you've never been to Valhalla Restaurant, in Visalia, you should absolutely check it out, for a unique and delicious breakfast experience. Oh, and they close at 2 PM, so breakfast and lunch only.

Instead, you walk in and immediately wonder if you've stepped into the wrong business. Shelves of trinkets, cards, and knick‑knacks greet you first, a full gift shop, and for a moment you're standing there, confused, scanning for a hostess who never appears. Then you notice the sign‑in sheet. Write your name, your party size, and wait. It feels old‑school, almost nostalgic, like something from a diner that's been around long enough to earn the right to do things its own way. When they call your name, you're led through what feels like a maze, rooms inside rooms, hallways that twist, tables tucked into corners, and finally a dining room decorated with a Viking boat and family portraits that look like they date back to the mid‑20th century. It's quirky, unexpected, and strangely charming in a way only small‑town institutions can pull off. The staff is kind, the sort of people who've probably worked here long enough to know half the regulars by name. The placemats are printed with ads for local businesses, a reminder that this place is stitched into the fabric of Visalia. The menu is a long laminated sheet, the kind you flip over once or twice just to make sure you didn't miss anything. I ordered the keto plate, bacon, sausage, three eggs, and a small bowl of cottage cheese topped with avocado slices. Simple, straightforward, exactly what it says it is. The eggs were room temperature, which took a little of the comfort out of the dish, but everything else was fine. Not great, not bad, just breakfast. Valhalla is interesting. The name promises Vikings, but what you get is an American diner wrapped inside a gift shop, wrapped inside a labyrinth of rooms. It's the kind of place you try once because curiosity brought you there. Whether you come back depends on what you're looking for. For me, this was a last‑minute solo brunch, a little adventure, a new spot to check off the list. And in that sense, it delivered, an experience, a story, something worth writing about.

So having a massive jar of soda already right in front of me? Huge win. Now, moving on to the slightly traumatizing part: they did not bring out bread to the table. Excuse me? I'm sorry, but if I am sitting down for Italian, table bread is not an optional courtesy--it is a fundamental human right. And it became an even bigger issue when my fettuccine arrived, because the portion size was... let's just say aggressively small for a dinner entree. I was expecting a meal, not a decorative sample. However... it was infuriatingly good. They make their own pasta fresh in-house, and the texture was honestly undeniable. My husband ordered the Margherita pizza, and he literally declared--with complete, uncharacteristic enthusiasm--that it was hands-down the best Margherita pizza he has ever gotten. So, massive points there. What was not a massive point, however, was the subterranean seating situation. We were escorted downstairs into the basement, which was pitch black. But more importantly: the stairs are completely unlit. I'm sorry, but they are actively asking to get sued. It is a litigious nightmare waiting to happen. Someone is going to take one wrong step in the dark, tumble down that staircase, and own the entire restaurant by next Tuesday. They are practically begging for a lawsuit. That being said... despite the pitch-black staircase of death and the tragic lack of dinner rolls, overall? I really liked it. The food completely won me over, and I would definitely go back. I will just be bringing a flashlight and my own emergency focaccia next time.

You find it because someone told you about it, or because you were looking for a place that feels a little more city than Central Valley. Brick walls, hanging art, a patio out front call it rustic, call it urban, call it hipster. Whatever the word is, it fits. Inside, the place hums. Not the quiet hum of a sleepy café, but the full‑volume buzz of people who treat coffee shops like co‑working spaces. The whole back section was a sea of laptops when I walked in, a slow tide of remote workers drifting out as the hour passed. Young folks, older folks, groups talking over each other a mix that tells you this spot has become a kind of community hub, even if the noise makes it hard to read without noise‑canceling buds. I came for a simple moment, a London Fog and a book. The tea was good, made with Rishi, a brand I'd never heard of but wouldn't mind trying again. I sipped it slowly, trying to sink into the page, but the chatter kept pulling me back to the room. Not a bad thing, just not the right place for quiet reflection. Some cafés are built for solitude; this one is built for motion. The staff was friendly, your standard modern barista crew, casual, quick, and easygoing. They run a tight operation, even offering mobile orders, something you usually see in bigger industrial coffee spots. Pastries, sandwiches, teas, espresso, the menu covers all the bases. Finding the entrance was its own adventure. Two doors, a divider in the middle, and a moment of "Wait... which side do I go through?" Not a dealbreaker, just one of those quirks that makes you laugh once you figure it out. Lighting is interesting here, low lamps mixed with a flood of natural light pouring in from the center of the shop. It gives the place a warm‑meets‑industrial feel, like a café that grew out of a warehouse and decided to keep the personality. Will I come back? Maybe. It's a great spot for people‑watching, conversation, or getting work done. But for reading, for sinking into a book with a drink, it's a place that demands either silence from the world or silence from your earbuds. Component Coffee Lab is loud, lively, and loved, just not quiet. And maybe that's the point.

Although the food here was good, the atmosphere was chaotic. The floor staffing was not able to service the dining room and the delegation of duties appeared haphazard (two servers working the counter as well as part of the floor). We waited about 10 minutes and had to call over a server because no one had come to take the drink order. That server could have corrected this but instead said that we were not in her area and our waitress had broken a cup and cut herself. She could have been more gracious and taken our drink order. Our server came over a couple of minutes later and apologized, but she seemed overwhelmed. We received our coffee and later our food, but I asked for milk for my coffee on three occasions before any was brought to me. The food was good and was served fairly promptly but no refills on coffee were offered and when we asked for refills there our request was acknowledged but never fulfilled. When we went to the counter to pay our check, our server was unable to make change for a $52.08 bill from $62.08. This could be a good local place based on the food, but the service is such that I cannot recommend it.

The food is really good... but you can definitely go through the menu quickly. I understand the concept of having a small menu but I wish the menu was changed occasionally (maybe it is and I don't know it). And the price is a little steep.... Just a little...

For brunch, I ordered the steak and potatoes, and it was sooo good. Everything was cooked really well and had great flavor, definitely felt like a more upscale brunch compared to your typical spots. One of my favorite parts though is the pastries they bring out -- such a nice touch and always super good. I also tried their cappuccino and it was just okay, nothing amazing but not bad either. The service here is always amazing, which honestly makes such a difference. I think the brunch is better than dinner, oops hot take! But everyone is super attentive and welcoming, and the atmosphere feels classy but still comfortable. Definitely a solid spot for a nicer brunch or dinner, I'll for sure keep coming back.
