This review is for if you're selling your car. Hands down, best place to go for selling your vehicle. I went around the island everywhere and this was the most fair and negotiable place I've found. The dealership is gonna give you way less than you would want, I promise you that. If you've got a really great vehicle with ceramic coating and other things under warranty, you could walk away with a check either same day or the next day. The paperwork is smooth and takes less than 10 minutes (must be crazy right)? I was just as shocked, I promise. For assessing your vehicle, they get in, drive it around the block, go inside and get you a number based on the CarFax. It's that fast. If you're looking to buy here - HONESTLY some of the reviews look rough but keep in mind you're buying a used car and used cars come with some baggage. Do your research and ask for car maintenance records. My experience is based on selling my car only. So hopefully this helps you! I was recently shopping for a new vehicle. Usually, I prefer big dealerships because of their "no-haggle" pricing--unless you know the owner of a smaller lot. I've seen too many people get taken advantage of, so I did my homework on the specific car I wanted. I saw an ad for Aloha Auto Depot (808-599-9360). Since I didn't have a vehicle at the time, I did a lot of research online and checked Kelly Blue Book. Their price was very competitive compared to other small dealers and even larger ones like Tony Nissan. I wanted to work out the numbers first, and I decided that if we could agree on a price, I'd go in for a test drive and ask more questions. I found the car I liked at Aloha Auto Depot on a Sunday. Usually, business hours are shorter on Sundays, and they were closing at 4:30 PM. By the time I found a ride and arrived, it was already 4:00 PM, but I was greeted with a big smile by the salesman. He was very friendly; usually, when you show up that late, dealers ask you to come back tomorrow. However, since I had done most of the work beforehand, everything went smoothly. The showroom is beautiful! The location is the old Volkswagen dealership, but they've renovated it and it looks very nice. They even offer free coffee, water, and chocolates for customers. I had been communicating with one of the managers, Eddy, but when I arrived, Chris helped me. He is very easy to talk to and was willing to help me even though he ended up staying an hour and a half past closing time. I was very pleased with his service. I have worked in customer service for over 24 years, so my expectations are very high, but Chris nailed it. If you want a salesman who isn't pushy and is truly willing to help, look for Chris. They initially asked if I could pick up the car the next day so they could detail it, but I really needed the car that day. They asked me to come back later, but then the detailer got sick. I couldn't come back the next day, and that's when Steve stepped in. While he was helping me set up the car's app and my profile, he overheard the conversation. He put a crew together and detailed the car right then so I wouldn't have to make an extra trip. That is truly going above and beyond. If you want this kind of service, come see them. Misleading advertising. First, their profile says "We Buy Cars, Any Condition." That's a lie. Took our van in today with transmission issues, still drives, and they said they don't take our kind of van with transmission issues. So they don't actually take "any condition" like they say they do. Also, in our emailed quote we received four days ago, it said about $7k for vehicle in "poor condition." That's also a lie since they wouldn't even take our van. When I asked Jacob what they meant by poor condition, he said it means dents or poor exterior condition and not mechanical. So why does the emailed offer not specify? I would recommend this company be upfront with their advertising so as not to waste people's time. Honesty is aloha and this place is not honest. 7 MONTHS IN THE SHOP FOR TRANSMISSION WORK, There is no way that a truck should be in the shop for 7 months just for a job that will take only 1-2 weeks at most. The truck also had regular check ups and only 5k miles before i bought it it had a transmission check and oil change there is no way. My wife and I dealt with Rob. He started off nice, but as soon as I tested the car for codes he had an attitude. He was standoffish and we had to walk to find him to even discuss the car after that point. At the end, we tried to negotiate price for cash in hand out the door 0 financing. I ran the KBB based on VIN and made an offer that was still at the higher end of what they are selling for by dealer. He made a remark of "so you wanna steal the car from us" and I said no, mentioning how I worked at a dealership as a salesman and understand the mark up system. After that he asked what kind of cars I sold, I told him Chevy/Buick/GMC, then he proceeded to tell me to go to Chevy across the street then. He took my offer to the sales office and came back to throw a paper at me with how much the cars are selling for (which was around what I offered). I asked him "why would I pay brand new cost (what they were asking) for a car that was 3 years old. So he told me to go buy a new one then. He was unprofessional and honestly doesn't need to be working with customers. A simple "sorry we can't make that happen" could have sufficed. Sales reps gave us a terrible trade in value of $2,500 when we payed almost $9,000 for the vehicle just 2 weeks ago. Got my money, not going back. Told them to fix an issue before I bought the car after 4 weeks of waiting on ″special parts″ went back in and the issue wasn't fixed. The special parts wasn't even for the problem. They changed the battery and the parts were for cosmetics.‍‍. After driving their loaner, I just wanted my car. I needed a car and saw this one on my Progressive app. Like other post, the car was what I was looking for and decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. I should have gone to Cutter. My family bought 15 cars from them and never had problems. Shout out to Sam Whitish, Ryan Kennedy, and Stephen Cervantes for this experience. I live on the mainland and purchased a vehicle with the assurance the shipping process would be simple through Matson. They were responsive and eager to take my 10k down payment and finance my loan on a 60k vehicle but apparently are too busy to figure out how to ship the car to me since they've already made their sale. I purchased this car 8/1/25 and when my shipping date came (8/21) they requested documents last minute because the car was not accepted at the port without them. In addition, upon checking the requirements to ship they of course forgot to include that the vehicle needs a 6" clearance to be accepted (something they neglected to check themselves!). The vehicle has 4.5" of clearance so it would not be accepted either way. Alternative shipping was found through Pasha but I was quoted 900 dollars more, another 2-3 weeks of wait time, and delivery to a port over 400 miles further from the first port. Of course Im expected to accept all of this without alternative, their poor planning constitutes a loss on my part. Now Im here asking for a refund and Im told they'll have to reassess the value of my vehicle and that I will lose money from taxes, fees etc in a buyback. Imagine buying a car at 55k before taxes and it being valued at 48k as a buyback. If you're happy waiting for a non-deterministic date for your vehicle, paying insurance for it and having the loan active before its in your possession, having sales associates that truly don't care of what happens after the sale, shop here! read more

17 WEEKS to get our title and registration!!!!We were told 8 weeks and we checked at 12 weeks and from there it was 5 more weeks or back and forth. General manager was absolutely useless- he was so flippant and disorganized. He did nothing- told me to call him while he "investigated" (for 2 weeks!) but then didn't even remember who I was or what I was talking about. I even emailed the owner and he didn't even bother to respond. Finally just talked to someone in the title department and she was so helpful. BEWARE Mainland buyers!! I recently purchased a diesel BMW X5 from Aloha Auto Depot as an out-of-state buyer, and it has been the worst car-buying experience of my life. I feel completely cheated and misled. The salesperson, "Uncle Sam," presented a BMW dealership inspection report stating the vehicle had no issues. As this was my first time buying from Hawaii (but not my first out-of-state purchase), I trusted this report. That was a massive mistake. Upon delivery to the mainland, the first red flag was the car's condition--it hadn't even been vacuumed, let alone detailed, showing a complete lack of care. Attached pictures are from the delivery date. The real problems emerged when I started driving. I immediately felt a power issue. I took it to my local BMW dealership, who found critical, undisclosed mechanical failures: a faulty transfer case that needs replacement and a leak in the rear of the valve cover. None of these major issues were mentioned in the "clean" inspection report provided by Aloha Auto Depot. When I tried to address these issues, "Uncle Sam" completely ghosted me. He stopped taking my calls and responding to my messages, leaving me with a broken car and mounting repair bills. WARNING TO MAINLAND BUYERS: If you see a car you like in Hawaii, DO NOT rely on their inspection reports. I was shown a fake document. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE - I REGRET BUYING FROM HERE purchased a vehicle from this dealership, and just two months later, it needed a major $3,600 repair. During the test drive, I asked about a strange noise the car was making because it didn't seem normal. When I brought it up to Jacob, he claimed he didn't know what it was but showed me a "squeaky clean" mechanic report where everything had supposedly passed inspection. Out of concern, I looked it up myself and found that the noise could either be typical for a hybrid or a sign of a faulty brake actuator. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the latter. When I brought it to a mechanic for the repair, they immediately identified the noise as a failing brake actuator and said that any dealership familiar with hybrids should have recognized it right away. This experience has left me feeling misled and disappointed. I would advise anyone shopping here to get a second opinion from an independent mechanic before purchasing. I would never recommend this dealer to anyone! I bought a vehicle from them and was lied to them. We had a contract for them to make all the repairs on the vehicle to fix the check engine lights. They did fix the catalytic converter but their own repair shop stated the transmission required replacing that was throwing a check engine light. Once I took possession of the car I had a check engine light within 2 weeks. Contacted my sales person and he stated they did change the transmission but could never find the invoice because they sent it out to somewhere else. I have proof that their shop said it needed replacement and that the sales person said they replaced it, but they didn't. Do not trust anything they say or even write down. I bought a truck less then 3 months ago. And the engine gave out on me. I now have to replace the motor and possibly the transmission. Ive asked them for some help but i have yet to get a response from anyone. I don't have s vehicle now I'm in the hole for about 25k this includes the engine and trans. These guys told me that they drive it that it has no issues, but after a day of driving it the exhaust started smoking the transmission has a very hard vibration and now there is no compression in my driver side head. Still no response, the only thing they helped me with was saying "it's okay to drive, just make sure it doesn't over heat". All i asked for was some help, i did not hold them responsible. BUYERS BEWARE!!!! They sold my son a $20,000 used car and 3-months later the car broke down and he needs to replace the engine for $20,000. He went to them for help prior because he told them there was white smoke coming out of the engine. They told him that they could not do anything about it but the manager can check about the warranty. He asked them to have the manager check. By the time they got back to my son, it was just 20 miles past the warranty. That's low!!! They knew something was wrong earlier but they did nothing!! Update: I met with the sales manager Stephen. Pretty decent pricing, but check everything about the car because there were some cosmetic flaws that I wasn't informed about (for obvious reasons). Friendly staff but they were a little pushy and you can tell they just really want to sell cars. The first problem I had with this staff is that the finances guy was trying so hard to sell me the insurance and ceramic coating when I kept saying no. Then I simply asked the worker who sold me the car if he knew there was already ceramic coating done. He went to the finance guy and asked him and he said "I tRiEd to SeLL hiM iT bUt hE diDn'T wAnT iT" implying that I'm dumb for asking that question. But he didn't know I was behind him when he made that remark. The second problem I had was with the manager who promised me a full tank of gas after the sale and I got less than a quarter tank. The third problem was with the loan. I had asked them to use with Honolulu Federal Credit Union (HOCU) since I was already familiar with them and they had good rates. HOCU sent over the paperwork to Aloha Auto Depot letting them know I got approved for a loan. BUT, Aloha Auto Depot LIED to me and told me I did NOT get approved from HOCU and forced me to use Ally banking because it was more convenient for them. I know this because my direct contact at HOCU told me I got approved and asked why I did not accept the loan. This really made me upset because they really did seem nice but that the end of the day they are like every other car sales people so what can you do... BEWARE. Do not come here they will scam you and lie to you about the condition of the car. If for whatever reason you need to buy a car here make sure to have your own mechanic check it out first. Just go anywhere else if possible. I bought a mini cooper s countryman 2013 from here, I was told that they had their "technicians" look at the car and it only needed a battery change. This was a lie and they even steered me away from getting a Toyota rave 4 that was there, which I believe would have lasted longer than the mini they sold me. Within two days I noticed something wrong with the car and leaking from under it. Turns out there was an oil leak from the rear axle which would require the transmission to be taken out to seal it, totaling over 10k which I bought the car for 8k. The warranty for the car would have been 5k which is more than half of the cars price. They would only offer 2,500 for a trade in which I wouldn't do because why would I get another car from a place that sold me a lemon. They told me the best thing I could do was drive it until it died, it only took a month before the electrical was super messed up eventually turning off my battery in the middle of the road. Needed registration, safety and license plate - Car was dirty had to get it detailed for 200$ it was so dirty - Grill missing/breaking apart as it's rubber. Needs replacement ASAP. It's a cover for windshield. I didn't notice it 120$ - Only key to make a copy another $350.00 - Poor communication they told me to come in and sign more paperwork. Well, their reviews are all over the place, but I had a positive experience with Keala and Aloha Auto Depot. I bought a 2002 Lexus SC 430 from them a few years ago. Was it a perfect car? No, they never said it was, and I didn't expect it to be. But hey, I got a $60,000+ high end Japanese car that looked like a million bucks for $8,950 and had fun with it for a few years. Did I end up putting some money into it? Sure, as one would expect to with a 20 year old car. We recently decided it was time to say goodbye to our Lexus and get a new car. We took the Lexus back to Aloha, was glad to see that Keala was still there, in their new, much larger, impressive location. And they bought the car back from me with 175,000 miles on it! I found another car I liked better, and when I went to check it out, it was ready for a test drive, although it was a bit dirty. After the test drive, Jacob didn't pressure me to buy. When I decided to go ahead, the buying process was quick and easy with Jacob and Keala's help. But there's one small issue - the registration and safety updates need to be done. 03/17/2023, situations has been resolved. It would have been four stars if it didn't take this long. As with most consumer conflicts, no one really comes out ahead. I am not going to one star them because the outcome of this problem was fair, and the purchase experience was okay. There weren't any high pressure sales or price haggling. This is our price then allowed me to deduct for problems found. Of course some deductions requests were declined and some accommodations were made. Never felt like that's the car for sale buy it AS IS. Because of this experience, I might use them again. As with any used sales, if they have what I'm looking for at the right price. read more

THIS SHOP IS A JOKE!!!!! Ryan, the financial manager, thinks everything is a joke. He was not professional what so ever. Treats his staff members like dogs and they go along with it. Other staff were cool though. In terms of customer service, they SUCK at answering calls but aren't busy at all with the amount of workers they have sitting/riding e-bikes around the shop. Confronted them about this in person and they gave such a BS of an excuse. They do not bother updating you about anything or take care of the over 1 year expired safety checks. They never had the oil changed, sold the car with a dead key fob battery. WHAT AN ABSOLUTE JOKEEEEE!! The "wash" they do when you buy the car seems like they just spray the car with water to take down dust. Other than that, all they care for is to gain money, not the car nor their customers. It pains me to write this review because I don't like talking negatively about businesses, especially locally owned ones, but I feel it necessary to share my experience with this dealership. I bought my car here back in March 2023. I was really happy because it had been my first big purchase. However after 2 months with no issues, an absolute nightmare took place. As I was driving the car into my garage, thick smoke began to come out of the hood. Before I could safely put the car in park, the car suddenly shut off midway up the incline into my garage. My family and I had to push the car off the street and into the garage. Naturally, I had my car left there to await repairs thinking this would be covered. After saving enough money for a tow and a mechanic to check my car out, I was given bad news. I found out that the timing chain had snapped off and whipped around in the engine. The mechanic had also found large metal shavings in the oil pan indicating the car had been poorly maintained by its previous owner. It was determined the engine was irreparable and had to be replaced all together. I first sought help from the warranty sold to me by the dealer. Contact with the warranty people was minimal though and they didn't ask any questions regarding the incident. After a couple weeks they determined that I would not be covered because of "continuous use after failure of part" as they put it. I don't know how the car could be "continuously used" after it's timing chain snaps off, and I even explained to them that fact. But that didn't matter because the decision was final and could not be overturned. On top of a faulty car, I was sold a useless warranty. I then went to the dealership to see what options I had with them. To my dismay, I was told that the car was sold "as is" and that nothing could be done for me. Had I known the pre-existing conditions of the car, I would have reconsidered, but the car-fax and information provided to me by the dealer made me believe the car was in working order -- VERY misleading. Looking over this traumatic experience, there was a MAJOR red flag I should have payed attention to before taking that car home. After processing my down payment for the car, they had it pulled up to the front. As I was waiting in the office, the dealer and a mechanic had the hood of the car open looking and pointing at parts I now assume was the engine. After a few minutes, the dealer walked in assuring me the car was in working order. Believing in that statement, I took the keys and drove home. Now, nearly two years later I'm stuck paying $350 a month for a car I can't use. I had to get a new job because I had issues traveling to the old one. Credit score is destroyed. I'm also diagnosed with major depression. I have no option but just to come to terms with the biggest, most expensive and emotionally devastating mistake of my life. Bought a jeep from this dealership, which they had told me that they inspected the vehicle thoroughly but came to find out from a mechanic shop that it had multiple issues, such as tires were uneven, worn out shocks, transmission leak etc.. came with 1 key which hard water damage. So had to call their key guy myself because their sales manager kept saying they would give them a call which they didn't. Atleast they reimbursed me the full amount which they werent going to. The only reason they reimbursed the full amount because I had issues getting the safety check myself. Yes the vehicle did not have a safety check. Also when I came to pick up the vehicle it hasn't even been washed so I had to ask them to wash it. Service here is whack, can't trust any of these guys. Hi I'm Raven, worst experience buying a car. The engine light was on when I bought it they said it would be an easy fix as in sensor but ended keeping it for the first two months after my purchase. They lied and said they took it to actual BMW twice but they only took it once and the problem was not fixed. I just got fed up and went to go get it after being told it was fixed multiple times by the dealer. then getting there just for them to tell me it was actually going to be worked on that night so I should just keep it there. in the beginning they gave me a busted Prius that smelled like a cat, I went there two weeks later I told them to give me another loaner because that one smelled they gave me a bmw which was way better. after I actually got my car the media buttons were blinking I called them to schedule an appointment to get that fix because it wasn't blinking at first. I called they put me on hold, they forgot to mute me and then said does she have a warranty They looked it up and said damn she does. I said you forgot to mute me then they did, so I waited they came back and said we will schedule you and they never called or answered my phone calls after that day. so I basically bought a warranty for nothing and they won't take responsibility on fixing the media blinking light because " I aggravated them while they had my car for two months with no updates . " I know I shouldn't have purchased it with the engine light on but my other car had the same problem and it was just the sensor like they told me so I thought it would be an easy fix. either way the situation was handled with so much disregard to me a paying customer maybe because I'm African American, single, and a woman. maybe if I came with a man my experience would've been different. this shop sucks and they are not professional. and this the SHORT version I don't want to give them a one it's like a 1/3 of a star. Do not go here!!! I think all cars are lemons and they try to fix them up enough to sell them. They were dishonest about how long cars had been on property. They had me test drive a car that he forgot was sold already! Everything felt like a big scam. I ended up buying a car from someone else, thank goodness! I had mentioned this place to them, and he said they were shady too. Can't be trusted. I really wanted to buy a car from them. I went in excited and left filling scammed. read more

I purchased a used Acura from here late February 2023. Upon picking it up after it was supposedly detailed, it had a burning oil smell so I was worried it had an oil leak. The dealership assured me their mechanics changed the valve cover gaskets and washed the engine. It still had the burning oil smell after that but I couldn't detect a leak. Fast forward not even 6 months later and the oil leak is visible both on the engine and puddled where I park in my garage. I'm getting it worked on by my mechanic now, but am upset this dealership lied about the repairs and covered it up by washing the engine. I put about 2,000 miles on the car in this timeframe, primarily town driving, so it shouldn't have problems right away. Don't buy a used car from here! read more
