Great food!! Everything was so flavorful and not dry. The dish that surprised me the most was the shrimp and pumpkin soup, which was delicious!!! The drinks are so strong, and I don't drink. My only gripe is the wait time, even with a reservation, and at certain times there isn't a large selection of meat available. Otherwise, best Brazilian steakhouse in Boston!!!

Laying over at the Aloft Boston Seaport and wanted a quick takeaway meal. Alma Gaúcha Prime Brazilian Steakhouse is easy to get to through the hotel lobby - since I ordered takeout, I can't speak on the full dine-in experience, just the food. I got the Chicken & Picanha combo with rice and black beans. Other side choices included Caesar salad or Garlic Mashed Potatoes. The rice and beans were actually really good, and they give you two solid portions, which I appreciated. The meat, though... not my favorite. I love chicken thighs for how juicy they normally are, but these were a bit dry and shriveled. And my steak, which I asked for medium, came out more on the well-done side. It was a little disappointing - I was really expecting that tender, juicy Brazilian-steakhouse moment..

The atmosphere is amazing, the lighting wasn't overly bright. The tables were spaced nicely. I got the lychee martini and that was really tasty. The first cut of meat came out quicker than I expected it to. And all of it tasted great. The servers were really nice and the service was great. 10/10 worth the price. We got the chocolate molten cake for dessert and it was amazing. It was my birthday and the servers came out with the dessert with a candle in it and sand and clapped. I would definitely recommend and go again.

I was quite underwhelmed with the quality of the meat. Almost all of the portions we received were overcooked. The salad bar was amazing though. I did notice that the batch of meat that came out as we were finishing up was A LOT better than the ones we received so I attributed our overcooked meal to timing. We ate around 4:45 pm, which must've been the end of their early afternoon rush. It was definitely heart wrenching to see everyone get perfect medium rare cuts after we just ate some well done meat.

    Key lime pie??

Key lime pie?? Hard pass. This was some sort of old cheesecake with a nasty congealed sauce that tasted like apple pucker, totally high school cafeteria vibes. In addition to this we arrive when the place was very much still open (according to posted hours) and got a lot of attitude from a bartender who clearly just wanted to go home. Save yourself the time and likely food poisoning

This place was great, you definitely get your money's worth here. The food was good, meats were delicious and the dessert was fantastic. I would definitely come back! Until the next one cheers!

I was craving some meat and decided to try a rodizio for the first time. I went for lunch, and they had two price options: $23, which doesn't include meat, and $45, which does, so I went straight for the $45. From the moment I walked in, the host greeted us very warmly. The staff was extremely friendly-someone even pulled out my chair for me to sit. The restaurant is beautiful, with well-arranged tables and a great atmosphere. The food was delicious. I went on a Monday, so it wasn't very busy, but I really appreciated that the staff was constantly checking to make sure all the food was fresh, well presented, and kept at the right temperature. Overall, it was an excellent experience: great service, a pleasant ambiance, and high-quality food. 10/10

This was my first Brazilian steakhouse experience and I came here as part of a group of 4 a few weeks back, while Alma Gaucha had an ongoing DineOut Boston promotion where they were offering AYCE dinner for $46 per person. There's no doubt in my mind that this is by far the best deal of the entire Dine Out Boston period - I can guarantee that you won't find any other place that's this worth your money! I was impressed by the freshness of their sides and salads - the buffet section wasn't overwhelmingly huge and it definitely seemed like they wanted to highlight quality over quantity. They also had a couple of hot dishes for people to sample - their clam chowder was decent. The one thing that I kept on going back for was their candied bacon - it was truly dangerously addicting. The highlight was definitely the meat selections that were served throughout our meal. I think the servers did a great job making sure that there was a variety and even though they were quite busy, I appreciated how they tried to take our preferences into account (the size of the piece, what temperature we preferred, etc etc) whenever they could. There was truly so much food that we definitely had to prioritize which ones we wanted to try. I passed on most of the chicken and pork samples. I really liked the premium of top sirloin! Their ribs were also super tender. I'm not a lamb person at all but even I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try a small piece of their lamb steak, which was very juicy and flavorful and not too gamey at all. The cheese with honey is definitely a must-try in my opinion as well, but it's definitely very heavy and not as worth as the rest of the meat selections! The servers made sure that the sides of cheesy bread (had a very fun mochi-like texture), fried polenta, and yucca were always filled. I was truly impressed by how wonderful and attentive the service was! And I also appreciated how they had a very clear allergen list. My only disappointment was that they had a strict set of two desserts that each person could choose from (a chocolate brownie or a slice of red velvet cake), and they weren't able to offer a gluten-free dessert (even though they definitely had gluten-free options available on their regular menu) for someone with a strict gluten allergy. Since they were really good about accommodating allergies with everything else, that was understandably a letdown unfortunately. Still, would definitely recommend this spot for people to try out in the future, particularly during DineOut promotions!

There aren't many restaurants within easy walking distance to the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. But thank goodness Alma Gaucha is one of them! Located on the main floor of the Aloft Hotel, Alma Gaucha has everything you want in a Brazilian steakhouse experience, minus the large crowds often found in large city convention areas. I sat at the bar, which still allowed me to order a 'bar size' portion of their famous skewer meats (chicken, lamb, shrimp and of course picanha steak!). The custom cocktails were excellent and I even veered off their menu to ask if they could make a caipirinha. The bartender was thrilled I asked! Bonus that a few other diners saw this and ordered the same. Icing on the cake was most of the staff were actually Brazilian. They loved my trying out simple Portuguese phrases (thank you, good evening, etc). It was a fun, interactive and FULLfilling experience!

One part of buffet (this is mostly chowder and Soup).

My initial impressions were great based on my first experience, but it varied greatly over the years. It seems the problem with every Brazilian steakhouse I've been to is the lack of consistency in their meats with each visit. There are times where the meats are on point with seasoning and temps and then there are times where it can be bland and way overcooked. Like many other rodizios I've been to, they often come by with the cheaper cuts and take a while to come with their premium cuts despite asking for certain meats. I'll give it to them that they have great deals and their brazilian cheese bread is better than Alma Gaucha, but their bar sides are not as good or extensive. The service is hit or miss depending on where you are seated. If you're seated in the busy area where everyone is then you're more likely to have better service since you have sight lines to waitstaff, but if you're off to the side towards the back then you'll have a quieter and slower experience for service and for meats to come to your table.

Thank you, Muqueca, for warming me up…read more Fish with Shrimp Moqueca: Made in the Capixaba recipe, this version replaced red palm oil and coconut milkthem with tomatoes--which happened to be my favorite. The broth was warm, flavorful, and refreshing. The initial notes are the sweetness of onions and bell peppers, followed by the delicate aroma of cilantro, leaving a clean taste impression. The whitefish fillets are tender and flavorful, yet still retain a subtle chewiness. The Pirão sauce, made with the fish broth and tapioca starch, was rich and thick, enhancing both the saltiness and umami, even reminiscent of Cantonese style abalone sauce. The two flavors were distinct yet complementary, a true delight with rice--though fresh, higher-quality Thai jasmine rice would be better. The earthenware pot, bearing the marks of time, kept the food warm; the portion was also very generous, perfect for sharing. I ended up taking some home for a second meal. Flan: Although I was quite full, the deliciousness of the moqueca piqued my interest in trying dessert. The pudding had a smooth and delicate texture, unlike the often sticky flaky texture of supermarket flans. The egg flavor wasn't strong, while the caramel syrup was rich and smooth, with an irresistible initial bitterness followed by a delightful sweetness. Plus, the syrup was generous, making it wonderful to coat every slice of cake in it. No wonder it's their signature dessert. Hot Sauce: The homemade hot sauce was highly recommended by my server. It didn't look very spicy, but it was far beyond my tolerance. However, I must admit it was incredibly delicious, with a refreshing citrus flavor and a smooth, emulsified texture alongside the spiciness, creating a very rich flavor profile. Being unable to handle spice is a real shame in its presence. The server's movements were elegant, the service attentive, the pace comfortable, and he satisfied some of my curiosity as a cuisine lover.

The Food~ The spicy sausage is juicy and rich with a bit of a kick. The garlic and regular Picanha meat are also soft and tender. The crusty skin with the garlic and salt bits mends well with the meat. Paired together with the jasmine butter rice neutralizes the saltiness and pulls you back for more. The oxtail and soup is also very good. The warm soup with the tender oxtail paired again with the rice is the perfect combo. There wasn't a lot of vegetable options but I'm not complaining :) The Logistics~ There is plenty of parking on the street and also a public parking lot near Blanchard. A party of 4 is considered large for this place and you'll end up taking all the seats. Don't like sticking around too long and the seating area is pretty limited and not the best for private conversations.

From the outside, the restaurant looks plain and unassuming, but once inside, it's modern, comfortable, and inviting. We had made reservations, but when we arrived, the place wasn't too crowded. The staff greeted us warmly and explained that we could either do the full rodizio or choose specific meats and pay by the pound. Naturally, we went for the full rodizio experience. The salad bar was a pleasant surprise. Unlike other Brazilian steakhouses that focus mainly on cold cuts, cheeses, and salads, Spettus had a smaller selection of cold items but an impressive variety of hot dishes such as pastas, meatballs, rice, and chicken parm. Everything was flavorful and fresh, and honestly, I could've been perfectly happy just eating from the salad bar alone. We also noticed that a good number of customers were doing takeout, which might explain the larger selection of hot foods. Then came the main event, the meats. Since it was a slower evening and we were the only table doing the full rodizio, we basically had personalized service. The gentleman serving the meats was friendly, attentive, and clearly took pride in what he was serving. He offered great recommendations, took our requests, and playfully encouraged us to take "just one more slice" each time he came around. Every cut we tried was excellent, but the garlic steak really stood out for its flavor. The sausage was fantastic, and the absolute stars of the night were the picanha and the grilled pineapple. I could eat those two forever and be completely content. Overall, Spettus Steak House delivered a top-notch experience that easily rivals some of the larger chain Brazilian steakhouses.
