The salad bar is open, the side dishes keep coming, and every few minutes the servers stop by with a different cut of meat that they carve tableside for you. My favorites were the lamb and the garlic beef. There are so many different cuts and marinades, and you really need to try them all. You also get a double-sided card: green means "keep the meat coming," and red means "I need a minute before I keep eating." They also have a wine list and cocktails. The manager checked on us several times to make sure everything was okay. I found it a little excessive, my coworkers loved the attention. It was quiet and empty, maybe because we visited during lunch. I'd love to come back on a Sunday to experience it. My biggest disappointment was the restaurant's did not allow me to take home leftover food. I had a piece of salmon and some pineapple left on my plate and was told I couldn't take it home. That was beyond frustrating. They remove the charge from my bill, I would have liked to keep the food rather than receive the discount. It felt wasteful to throw away perfectly good food, especially when food waste is such a serious issue. It was literally half a piece of salmon. Let me start off by saying that this was my favorite Brazilian Rodizio that I've been to many times since they've been open. It has been consistent for the most part in terms of their food selection, but this time they did not offer Fraldinha or Alcatra anymore on their Dine Out Boston menu. Their cold/hot food bar is better than Fogo's selection by far. It seemed there were more limited meats that came by especially since we were seated close to the entrance of the restaurant despite my card being green the whole time. I would expect everything on the limited menu to show up at least once and the wait time for specific cuts of meat took way too long even with requesting a cut from the staff. Somehow the cheese with honey never shows up either. I went during weekday lunch and the restaurant was semi-busy in the front half of the place up until the end of my visit in which there were only a few tables left and I still didn't get any additional Picanha. They came around with the cheaper alternatives more often. The meats I was served were seasoned well, but the variation in temperature for cuts I got were somewhat off putting despite requesting medium rare each time. There were some perfect temps to start off, but half the time they cut me thin slices of well done meat. That was my table's experience this time around unfortunately. My friend and I stopped by for restaurant week and I am so glad we did. Absolutely phenomenal service. Everyone was incredibly attentative throughout our evening dining. The servers go as far as pulling out your chair for you (gasp). We were explained the ordering process and got started with cheese bread and yucca rolls , which were delicious. I got the Brazilian lemonade (free refills on that too, whhattt!). I will never pass on a Brazilian lemonade haha, it was so tasty and refreshing. The salad bar was FRESH. Everything was up to bar and quality was not compromised for quantity. Each cut of meat that was served was delicious. I have been to manyy Brazilian BBQ spots and have not always found that the meats taste this good. Even usually things I don't care for, like the bacon wrapped chicken for example, blew me out of the park. Dessert was delicious but by that point I only had a few bites left in me haha. My fourth Dine Out Boston 2026 Winter visit: Alma Gaucha, the Brazilian rodizio, with colleagues. The meat was delicious, the salad station was plentiful, and we ate until we were stuffed... Meat Serving: My favorites were all kinds of beef! The Premium of Top Sirloin and Top Sirloin with Garlic were extremely juicy and tender, as you can see. I recommended medium rare, and don't cook it more than medium. Tri-Tip Steak and Tri-Tip Steak with Cheese were relatively coarse, but had a layer of fat that made them more flavorful. I recommended medium; medium-well would be too dry. Lamb Steak was juicy and flavorful, with no gamey taste, so eat with confidence. Chicken Wrapped with Bacon and Chicken Legs were garlic-flavored, but the meat was a bit tough. Cheese with Honey was a calorie bomb but really delicious; the cheese had a slightly gamey taste, and the more honey, the better. Most importantly, the grilled meats here are just the right amount of salty; only the Chicken Heart and Pork Sausage were very salty. There were various sauces to choose from, but I personally recommend the oily and slightly sour Chimichurri, or simply salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Salad Station: Foods were plentiful and all very fresh and of good quality. My favorite was the Apple Salad, which was like the old-fashioned "fruit and salad dressing" version from my childhood--it was nostalgic and had a wonderfully refreshing sweet and sour taste. The Smoked Trout was tender and had a wonderfully flavorful fat, but considering it from freshwater , I only had a small taste. The Clam Chowder had a rich creaminess that perfectly complemented the umami of the clams. The Bruschetta, with its creamy sweetness from roasted garlic paired with the crispy bread, was a delightful little treat. Side Dishes: My personal favorite was the Mashed Potatoes, fried potato balls with a crispy, airy exterior and a creamy filling. The Yucca Croquette was like a tapioca version of Pão de Queijo, with the same crispy crust and mochi-like texture, but a milder cheese flavor. The Caramelized Bananas were too soft and mushy; cooked bananas always have a rotten taste. The Crispy Polenta was very hard, mainly cornstarch, and had little flavor. Desserts: The waiter's recommendation, the Red Velvet Cake, was definitely on point. It was less sweet and had a gentler sweetness, more suitable for Chinese tastes. If you like it sweeter, get more of the part with white chocolate sauce. The Mango Cake had a very smooth mousse and a rich mango flavor. The Keylime Pie was too sweet and sour, too strong a flavor. read more

The waiter was very pleasant. There was a little mix-up with our order. The chicken Caesar salad didn't come out on time, so we thought about canceling it. We also ordered a beef appetizer. My boyfriend loved it and ate it all, but I wasn't a fan because the meat was cold. I asked if it was supposed to be cold, and they immediately comped it and offered to bring a fresh batch. I was quite underwhelmed with the quality of the meat. Almost all of the portions we received were overcooked. The salad bar was amazing though. I did notice that the batch of meat that came out as we were finishing up was A LOT better than the ones we received so I attributed our overcooked meal to timing. I went on a Monday, so it wasn't very busy, but I really appreciated that the staff was constantly checking to make sure all the food was fresh, well presented, and kept at the right temperature. This was my first Brazilian steakhouse experience and I came here as part of a group of 4 a few weeks back, while Alma Gaucha had an ongoing DineOut Boston promotion where they were offering AYCE dinner for $46 per person. There's no doubt in my mind that this is by far the best deal of the entire Dine Out Boston period - I can guarantee that you won't find any other place that's this worth your money! I was impressed by the freshness of their sides and salads - the buffet section wasn't overwhelmingly huge and it definitely seemed like they wanted to highlight quality over quantity. They also had a couple of hot dishes for people to sample - their clam chowder was decent. The one thing that I kept on going back for was their candied bacon - it was truly dangerously addicting. The highlight was definitely the meat selections that were served throughout our meal. I think the servers did a great job making sure that there was a variety and even though they were quite busy, I appreciated how they tried to take our preferences into account (the size of the piece, what temperature we preferred, etc etc) whenever they could. There was truly so much food that we definitely had to prioritize which ones we wanted to try. I passed on most of the chicken and pork samples. I really liked the premium of top sirloin! Their ribs were also super tender. I'm not a lamb person at all but even I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try a small piece of their lamb steak, which was very juicy and flavorful and not too gamey at all. The cheese with honey is definitely a must-try in my opinion as well, but it's definitely very heavy and not as worth as the rest of the meat selections! The servers made sure that the sides of cheesy bread (had a very fun mochi-like texture), fried polenta, and yucca were always filled. I was truly impressed by how wonderful and attentive the service was! And I also appreciated how they had a very clear allergen list. My only disappointment was that they had a strict set of two desserts that each person could choose from (a chocolate brownie or a slice of red velvet cake), and they weren't able to offer a gluten-free dessert (even though they definitely had gluten-free options available on their regular menu) for someone with a strict gluten allergy. Since they were really good about accommodating allergies with everything else, that was understandably a letdown unfortunately. There aren't many restaurants within easy walking distance to the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. But thank goodness Alma Gaucha is one of them! Located on the main floor of the Aloft Hotel, Alma Gaucha has everything you want in a Brazilian steakhouse experience, minus the large crowds often found in large city convention areas. I sat at the bar, which still allowed me to order a 'bar size' portion of their famous skewer meats (chicken, lamb, shrimp and of course picanha steak!). The custom cocktails were excellent and I even veered off their menu to ask if they could make a caipirinha. The bartender was thrilled I asked! Bonus that a few other diners saw this and ordered the same. Icing on the cake was most of the staff were actually Brazilian. This place is located on the first floor of a hotel. It is extremely clean and very well decorated. I've heard of Brazilian Steak Houses but never tried one. This particular one is Down by The Lawn at D (cool place to hang outside). Also close to the Waterfront. They give you a coaster that is red on one side and green on the other. Red means stop or not ready, green means feed me. Lol But seriously, as soon as you flip from red to green, almost every waiter in the place comes over to you with different types of meats & chicken. But before that, you get to go the buffet which is loaded with many types of Brazilian salads, fruits, cheeses, chowder, soup, veggies, etc. Once you turn green, they bring fried plantains, cheesy potato balls, small pop overs, etc. Pretty reasonably priced from 11:30-4:00 Monday through Friday. You need to google them for other hours. Of course they are open for dinner daily. We never wanted for anything. The bar isn't that big but is loaded! Chose water on this day. We got the molten lave cake for desert. Oh my, we should have been wheeled out of the place! We were stuffed! Delicious, priced right, bring your appetite. It was so good, we went back again the next day as it was convenient (in the hotel at which we were staying). I came with a friend during the Best of Boston and we had a great time. We definitely ate much more than we had planned. All of the meat we had was really good.
