Cute spot downtown! My husband and I came here before a night at the symphony and it was the perfect distant to walk! The hostess and server were both friendly and attentive. We were in a bit of a hurry and our server made sure we got our food in a timely manner! Much appreciated! Only downsize- the tables are very close together leaving little to no room to maneuver. Overhearing other tables conversations is not always nice at dinner. Besides that this place has cute decor and vibes. Great spot for a date night or a girls night out! Drinks: -Moscato: perfect amount of sweetness! Food: -Branzino fish: Fish cooked perfectly with lots of flavor and a good size portion

Allora was amazing! We made a reservation for dinner and arrived excited to see what Allora was about. The service was fantastic from the moment we walked through the doors. The host seated us promptly at a great table in the dining room and our server offered drinks and water right away. There were so many good things on the menu, so it took us awhile to decide, with some great recommendations and advice from our server. I landed on the squid ink pasta (LINGUINE AL NERO DI MARE) and it was fantastic! We also ordered three of their sides - creamy polenta, pecorino whipped mashed potatoes, and the stewed heirloom beans. All three were delicious, but I've never had polenta this good! The ambiance is light and airy and the vibe is friendly and approachable, not pretentious. It's a great place for a date night for a special occasion or for entertaining clients or just a fabulous meal. Give it a try.

This is a cute spot relatively close to the heart of downtown, but I ended up here for a pre-DeVos Performance Hall drink and stumbled into happy hour! Honestly I'm very happy that I did as they were decent deals for the spritz I was craving. The bartender was very kind but clearly busy and even though we were sitting at the bar, the service was a little lackluster. It was pretty clear that there were a lot of regulars sitting at the bar that seemingly got better service (read this as prompt and timely) while my friend and I had to flag someone down a couple of times. Once we shared we were going to the show, he was quick to come over if we waved him down. I don't love that kind of experience as I feel awkward doing it, especially as he could see that we were low on drinks and could either 1) use another or 2) get our check. I do love the bright and airy feel of the space though and the menu looked good! I'll just have to try it sometime when I'm feeling like $$$

Attended a friend's birthday dinner here and what an elegant spot to have in downtown Grand Rapids. This is definitely the upscale, impress-your-date, with the price tag to match kind of swanky joint. Definitely make a reservation ahead of time. Everyone was still so down to earth and very accommodating. Now for the food, we did a family style meal so got to try a lot of things. I would say the arancini was a fan favorite, the raw fish was so fresh and delicious. While we were told the pasta dishes were "small", I still found them a good size if you plan to have a few apps and a dessert. My only bone to pick was with the pork chop. Be prepared for a HUGE fat cap. I do enjoy the taste of some rich fattyness but this was honestly hard to justify. The waiter also warned me about it but after some back and forth, he convinced me it was great. Probably would have gone for a lighter choice. Drinks were delicious and strong and also had a few alcohol free ones. Desserts were probably also highlights but the lemon ball is really the showstopper.

Elegant atmosphere and excellent service. The staff clearly explained the menu and how to order. Overall, a great experience! I left satisfied but not overly full since the portions were not too big. Highly recommend, though it is on the pricier side $$$

My search for good Italian food in SW Michigan might be over. Thank you Allora. I spent 13 years in north New Jersey, a mecca of great Italian food, where there are lots of really good Italian restaurants. Average Italian restaurants just won't survive there. There was not a single thing on Allora's menu that I would not order. My only regret was the lack of a veal chop on the menu. My beef tartare app was delicious. The burrata salad was exceptional (and surprisingly large). My squid ink and seafood pasta was cooked perfectly. The asparagus side was wonderful. Everyone at our table loved their selections. The cocktail menu was quite good too. Some of the cocktails looked as good as they tasted. Our server was fabulous. The decor was comfortable and relaxed. Everything considered, this is one of the better dining experiences I've had in SW Michigan. We'll definitely be back.

A little box of something sweet to take home, great gesture!

Loved the new Allora! To begin, the cocktails were delicious and beautiful. The "Limonare" was by far our favorite (perfectly sweet, refreshing, and herbal). The "Vecchio Style" was a close second (old fashioned with a hint of vanilla and banana). The espresso cocktail was probably our least favorite even though the pistachio froth on top was a nice twist. Appetizers: As a blue cheese, fan I loved the "blue steel foccacia" (delicious large portion of 5 slices of focaccia with a little dollop of whipped blue cheese). The "Polpo Alla Patate" was delicious. The gnocchi melted in our mouths and had a burst of flavor and spices with well-cooked octopus pieces, I'd absolutely order that again. The meatballs were quite good as well! Dinners: The "Costoletta Di Maiale" was a really solid portion of delicious pork chop cooked and glazed perfectly. The grilled ricotta stuffed eggpant was delicious as well! The only disappointing entree was the cacio e pepe that two of us ordered... honestly it was missing something and none of us would reorder it. Overall though our service and cocktails were great, appetizers delicious, and I'd love to try their desserts next time!

So excited to go and check out Allora and see the interior of this place! Upon entering we were greeted by a host who graciously took our name and seated us inside their dining area. The tables were set up beautifully with nice blues and gorgeous blue accents in the glasses and chairs and hand cloths. We were introduced to two gentlemen who were going to take care of us for the evening. They were both absolutely incredible and the hospitality was amazing. Right off the bat they welcomed us and we were given water choices between sparking, still, and tap. To be completely honest we didn't realize still was going to come in a glass bottle and it was $9 a bottle. We completely would have gotten tap if we had paid attention but we just continued to enjoy our still water anyway. The drink menu was looking awesome with many fancy cocktails and wines. My bf ordered their old fashioned that came with a dehydrated banana on it and I tried the Apertif Flip because it looked so beautiful in pictures I had seen online. Not only did my drink look spectacular, it tasted divine too. Highly recommend. We were told the first page of the menu were smaller dishes and the second page was more heartier portions of food. We tried their beef tartare, octopus gnocchi, and the raw shrimp spaghetti as our small dishes. Each one was absolutely delicious and full of flavors and very fresh. The beef tartare was pretty much my favorite of those three but I'd eat them all again in a heartbeat. For entrees, my bf ordered the king salmon with whipped potatoes which he loved and I ordered the pork chop by our server's recommendation. Both delicious! The star of the show for me was the dessert we ordered, the Delizia Di Limone! Absolutely light and citrusy and refreshing! Great textures and balance. One of the best desserts I've enjoyed in quite some time. You have to try this if you like lemon. Promise you won't regret it. Five star review easily for an incredible evening. The food, the ambiance, the service were all superb! Can't wait to come back and try more of what their menu has to offer. We were given a gift upon leaving and were told they are delicious treats meant to enjoy with your morning coffee. So I'm looking forward to trying those :) Please try this place out soon to support their opening! I would make sure to plan to spend a good amount and also dress well as everyone looked amazing inside.

We love this restaurant. It is expensive but you get what you pay for. Their homemade pasta is amazing. You can't go wrong with any of them. We ordered a couple different items and shared them. The seafood and steak were also amazing. Their staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The whole restaurant is very beautiful and I love their bar seating.

If you're looking for an upscale Italian restaurant, Allora is a must try. The portions were well sized, there were 4 of us dining and we ordered quite a few to share amongst each other dining family style. We left full and even had left overs. The Crudo Di Tonno (tuna crudo) and Carne Di Manzo Crudo Con Tartufo (beef tartare) were by far our favorite dishes of the night. The pork chop was a little bit too fatty for our liking but it was topped with crispy kale which was our favorite from the dish. At the end of dinner you're also gifted a little treat to take home to enjoy with your coffee the next day Overall all the dishes were amazing!

Absolutely beautiful interior. Service was great and attentive. The food, including the crudo, was overly salted and steak overcooked. Would definitely try some of their pasta dishes. For how expensive it was, left some to be desired.

Had a wonderful experience at Allora! Had an early dinner after golf while vacationing in Grand Rapids. Everything about this restaurant is on point! The servers are well trained, friendly and attentive. The food was so so good! We loved everything we tired!! And the atmosphere....wow, somebody had a vision when they put this restaurant together - really beautiful! It's a new restaurant; only about two months old, so definitely put it on your must try list - you won't be disappointed!!
