3.5 stars: Came here early on a busy Friday night without a reservation and thankfully snagged a table on the patio. Unfortunately due to how busy it was, our waitress forgot our drink order and somehow our order did not go in for the food correctly as it took so much longer for us to get our food than everyone else. While normally we wouldn't mind the delay, with two young kiddos this was not ideal. Even after a lengthy trip to the playground, the food still hadn't come out. The regular pizza was gobbled up and loved. The gluten free pizza was decent but when it cooled down was a bit more rubbery as GF things tend to get. The GF bolognese was just okay - the sauce was less saucy and more meat clumpy and drowned in Parmesan as you can see from the picture. The pasta at least was cooked well. Overall, we would try it again but our initial experience did not live up to the hype. read more

I just ordered, on line, 2 pizzas, roasted vegetables, vodka pasta, and the meatballs. I arrived early for pickup. One of the waitresses said she would take care of me, don't worry, take a seat. So I sat at the bar and ordered a beer, which took some time as they were fairly busy. My ap said order was ready for Pick-up so I asked numerous waitresses about it. They all were great, but never came back. Finally someone brought my order. I was 10-15 minutes to home. The pizza was cold and dry, like it had been sitting there forever. What a disappointment! A hundred dollars! Never again. Pizza Hut or Dominos would have been better, for half the price! The ambiance looked OK. Very crowded. The portions were very small! read more

The hostess acted like we were inconveniencing them when we said we didn't have a reservation (nearly half the restaurant was empty) and only 1 party arrived after us/ the entire time we were there. The waitress was okay, but definitely not friendly. The food (I got pasta) was barely lukewarm, she told us when ordering the cheese that came on cools down the top noodles some but the entire dish, even the chicken was not warm at all & the cheese couldn't even melt, my friends also said their dishes were cold as well (we all got pasta). Wish I would have tried the pizza but probably won't make a trip that way again to do so since the experience was kind of blah for how expensive it was. I got pretty much cold pasta, with cold chicken added, and water for $30 (before adding tip for unfriendly/ mediocre service). Probably the most aesthetically pleasing restaurant in the area. Plenty of parking, great service, inviting interior, and a good date night spot for dinner. Ricotta and guanciale pizza was easily our favorite. Perfectly airy and chewy and yet somewhat crispy dough paired with the perfect amount of guanciale, ricotta, and green onion. Balsamico was so life - maybe a 3.5/5 for us although it seems to be the most popular pick. We tried the Leelanau Cheese Raclette and the Margherita last time, so we decided to switch it up. Goat cheese and crostini dip is so delicious. The bacon and the fig jam brings the sharpness of the goat cheese together. A hack might be to get the focaccia bread and pair it with the goat dip. Yum!! A must go to in Ada. We heard about Myrth only 2 days prior from a picture of their pizza and knew we had to go ASAP. Appetizers- Focaccia was so delish. 3 different sauces- a dilly sauce, tomato sauce, and spicey oil. The bread was perfectly airy and good on its own. Meatballs- definitely order this! I've never described meatballs as light but we all said this. Pizzas- Tomato - a classic just sauce pizza. If you like sauce, you'll like this. Balsamico- the combo of pepperoni and olive is so good. Not as salty as you'd think Ricotta and guanciale - my favorite of the night. The hot honey really adds such a good flavor to this. Pastas- Baked penne- probably my favorite pasta of the night. I loved the crunchy baked pieces on top and the subtle sauce coated the penne really well Linguine- everyone else loved this but I did not try. It was made with shrimp and Calabrian chilis but not described as spicy Lumache- this was an accidental placement so the restaurant gave it to us for free and we are so ecstatic that we got to try it. This was a favorite of multiple people. The sun-dried tomato added a really yummy tang Desserts- Chocolate swirl ice cream (not pictured) really flavorful. Rich but not overly rich Michigan honey pie- it's so hard to describe how good this dessert is. We felt it was intense, soft, bold, and satisfying. It is like a pecan pie without pecans but better. After a date night last week, I knew I had to revisit and finish this draft.... Nestled in the heart of Ada village, Myrth fits right in. You are greeted by friendly host, and if you have reservations (which I highly recommend making) you get seated right away! With a clean and stylish interior, outdoor seating options (when it's nice), and perfectly weighted plates I'd argue the dining experience at Myrth was thought through very thoroughly. Parking is free, but if you come during a busy time (5-8pm Thursday-Saturday) plan to park far away. The menu changes a bit with the season, but has a lot of staple dishes pastas and pizzas. From last year to this year, all dishes highlighted the fresh ingredients. Even the drinks had fresh and home made ingredients like unique house syrups. Overall a solid 4/5 stars! The only reason I hesitate to give this space a 5 is because the prices are a bit high. That said, I will keep Myrth in my rotation of restaurants for special occasions. read more

Such a cute interior! Very stylish, with moody candle lighting. Perfect spot for a date night or girls night out!! The brussel sprouts were okay, a bit spicy and less crispy than I prefer. The focaccia was good, but the sauces that it came with really stole the show!! Our waitress was so helpful when giving recommendations. We've been on somewhat of a spiritual quest for great pizza in GR and we've finally found it! Highly recommend the margherita and the balsamico. I keep it simple and usually get a Margherita. Last time my pizza was a little too charred on the bottom even for me, but every time else my pizza was perfectly cooked. This restaurant is unreal! I seriously loved everything about this place and the food was incredible! Myrth has been on my list to try since the day it opened so I am glad I finally made it there. We made a reservation ahead of time and I'm glad we did because it was decently busy when we arrived. I had a glass of red wine which was very good, and started with the romaine salad! It was very refreshing with the vinaigrette on it and I always love when egg is incorporated into a salad. For my entree, I had the bucatini which had clams, Calabrian chilis, lemon and cream. This was super delicious. I am still thinking about this dish and how good it was! The pasta was cooked perfect and everything just came together so perfectly. It definitely had a little spicy kick from the chilis but it wasn't overwhelming for me. My friend had the radiatore and I tried a bite of hers and this was also delicious. This place can be a little pricey but you definitely get what you pay for because it tastes and looks like a high end meal. Plus the chef is a James Beard award winner! Absolutely love this addition to downtown Ada. I brought my mom who is gluten free, and she was thrilled to see they have gluten free pasta and pizza. We both got the scallop and caper pasta which was so delicious. Our cocktails were delightful and we got vanilla ice cream (for her) and honey pie for dessert. To start, I really have to give Myrth 5 stars. This is based on everything we had being so utterly exceptional. Wonderful flavors oozed from our dishes. With lots of sharing, we enjoy each other's meals. We made reservations for a busy Friday night and were promptly seated at our appointed time. The restaurant has a really nice, alive vibe - loud but not too loud to stifle conversation. Our server introduced herself and took drink orders. I was impressed with the reasonable priced wine by the glass prices. We each ordered a glass of Montepulciano followed by a glass of Corvina. Wonderful tasting vintages. We started our food order with garlic focaccia. This came with three unique dipping sauces and gladly contributed to my carb overload. I ordered a wood fire pizza. The spicy cheese - mozzarella, Pecorino Romano, oregano, and Calabrian chilis provided an unusual taste which I cannot wait to have again. I'm usually not a fan of cheese blends-mozzarella ONLY should be used on pizza but I was proven wrong in this case! This was totally different from pizzas I've had in the past but so amazingly excellent! My wife ordered Strozzapreti, which was prepared with sweet corn, wood-roasted tomato sauce, cream and basil. Since we both share, I was just as thrilled tasting this amazing creation as I was a with the pizza. Previous reviews mentioned how great the Honey Pie was. Right they were. Two pieces would have been overload so we sure enjoyed sharing one piece. Perhaps my only "less than effusive comment" centers around the somewhat limited menu. My wife and I found many things we'd enjoy but the lack of greater variety will limit who we come here with. I'm hoping that as a new restaurant, Myrth simply wants to open doing things extremely well before they expand the menu. Service is north of outstanding. Myrth has been open for just over a month in downtown Ada. Their chef won The James Beard Foundation's Best Midwest Chef in 2016 for his work at a different restaurant, so this was a highly anticipated opening. The menu is small and consists of a few starters, wood-fired pizza, pasta, housemade desserts, and beverages. We were seated right away and I noticed that it was quite busy for a weekday evening - definitely make a reservation. The space is bright and modern with some nice furnishings and decor. I enjoyed the ambiance and design of the restaurant, but it was super loud. Our server was polite and efficient, although I would have loved a bit of background on the restaurant/menu and we didn't get any guidance. I think she figured we just knew what we wanted, which we did, but I always like to know a bit about a new place. We ordered the radiatore pasta (parmigiano reggiano, cream, white wine, prosciutto), the fennel sausage and summer squash pizza, and the blueberry pie with vanilla ice cream as well as a slice of the honey pie for dessert. The pizza was good, but I really loved the pasta. I had heard they make their pasta in house, but since we didn't get any info on it I'm not sure. Either way, it was perfectly cooked and the cream sauce was nicely balanced with some acidity from the white wine. The prosciutto added a savory element and the cheese was delicious. Nate and I shared both the pasta and the pizza, but I'd go back and get more pasta just for myself. It was like grown up mac and cheese, so good. I like wood-fired pizza, but I feel that there are so many places with it now that it really needs to be excellent in order to stand out. Myrth's was good, with a nice ratio of toppings and sauce, but it just didn't blow my mind. At $21 it was a bit pricey but Nate really liked it it. I'd heard rave reviews of the honey pie - I almost didn't order it since I knew it would be super sweet (and our server said so as well), but I'm SO glad we did because it was definitely the standout of the meal. The blueberry pie was just okay, nothing special. But the honey pie was decadent, sweet, and delicious. It's like the best pecan pie you've ever had without the pecans. The slice was generous and enough to split between the two of us for a sweet treat. This is a great addition to the area and worth a stop if you love pizza and/or pasta. read more

I highly recommend the honey pie, it is surprising, filled with honey flavor and not overly sweet. The menu is small but perfectly designed to cover most of what you could want. I highly recommend you get the bread to start. The service is great, they are able to answer questions easily and give recommendations. The vibe is cool and hip. I went to Myrth again even though I just went last week. We arrived at 5pm and the front staff was super stressed because they wanted to make sure they had enough seats for the people getting reservations since they were booked starting at around 5:30pm it seemed.The waitress they ended up seating me with was borderline rude since she said we could eat as long as we left by 6:20pm and then unnecessarily said she would have to "ask us to leave" if we stayed longer. That didn't need to be said. The waitress and hostess didn't seem to have a lot of confidence and were very anxious. I just would expect more confidence and customer service from the front-of-house staff. Other than this initial awkward moment, our waitress did a great job getting our orders in and with food / drinks coming out fast. The food was great and extremely fresh, as usual. I think the waitress may have accidentally overcharged for my child's pepperoni pizza because it was $19 instead of the $16 but it also was surprisingly large so maybe she thought l was ordering from the adult menu. My child's pizza was huge so I would clarify that with them if you order for your kid. The focaccia they have is very good, I would get it. They weirdly have ranch as one of the options to dip it in but maybe they're trying to be innovative. The kale salad was fresh and the cheese on it was good. I've had all of their salads and I notice they go hard on the leafy greens and seasoning but not much else. Their salads are simple and straightforward but extremely fresh. The spaghettini was my favorite. It has seared scallops, capers, lemon, herb butter, white wine, garlic. You can taste the lemon so if that's not your thing, maybe you can mention it. It's just really well done. I also ordered the spaghetti arrabbiata and it was also very fresh. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant. They just seem to have a few kinks with some of the front-of-house staff that need to be ironed out if they want to be a more elevated restaurant. Our service was fantastic from the moment we walked in until we left. The hostess was friendly/inviting, all the food runners were great and knowledgeable, and our server was outstanding.
