The food was great, the service was good, and the drinks were decent, and it has a cool low key vibe. We were there during a game night event.

A cool dive type bar with a really nice space! No reservations or anything needed for a Thursday evening dinner. We sat right down at a table towards the front of the restaurant. It was a really hot day outside and we were right by the window and had the sun beating down on us for a bit so I do wish we picked a different table but that was our own fault. Server was quick and attentive and so so friendly. He really made the dining experience that much better. They have an event space here as well and I think they had some type of mixer going on so the music was pretty loud but not a huge worry for us. Just had to talk a little louder to converse. We had the chorizo dip as our app and it comes with pita chips with some really good seasoning on it. Loved this dip. I would get this again and it was a good sized portion. They have a really unique menu with all of their New Orleans/Creole inspired dishes so it was hard to pick but I went with the muffuletta since you truly don't see that anywhere else around here. It was good! Loved the olive spread on it. The chips with it were good as well. Free large parking lot behind the restaurant/strip it's in and you can enter the restaurant from the back. Didn't love that a young boy came in from outside trying to sell us candy while we were eating.

First time visiting Rez Lounge last weekend and I already cannot wait to go back! Snagged a cozy booth on a busy Saturday night and had the best time enjoying the classic atmosphere and amazing food. Highly recommend the Bleu Bayou Burger (now one of my favorite burgers in the state), Shrimp Po' Boy, and Cajun Fritters (the Sriracha Ranch dipping sauce is to die for).

First time checking out the Rez and I was impressed! From the street it looks like some tiny little dive bar, but that's definitely not the case. We stopped by for some drinks and an appetizer around 11pm and there were a lot of empty tables. They have big TVs, games, great food, and a solid drink list. Our waiter Kyle was very friendly and kept us happy while we hung out. Our friends ordered traditional cocktails while my wife and I opted for the beer list. A two page Michigan beer list was very inviting. We also shared some chicken nachos that were very good but the IPA sour cream was a little strange. Overall, definitely a cool low key place to hangout!

I chose this restaurant because they offered at least one vegan option and I liked the casual warehousy look. I knew my friend visiting from Oregon would like it as well and I wasn't wrong. We started with the Deep Fried Brussels Sprouts minus the bacon and Parmesan cheese and it was tasty. I ordered the Vegan Jambaylaya and he ordered the Creole Fettuccine with shrimp. The jambalaya was made with Nutcase sausage and was delicious. My friend practically licked his plate so when he said it was really good I guess he meant it!! We had several drinks which we both agreed were VERY weak which is why I gave it four starts rather than five.

I really enjoyed our dinner here. My husband was lukewarm on it. The restaurant itself is pretty nice inside, I liked that the 2 person tables were more spacious than typical ones. I thought the creole fettuccini was really yummy. I thought it could use a bit more Cajun flavoring/spices. It tasted pretty much like normal fettuccini. I loved the cornbread with their honey butter drizzled over it. Halfway through, I thought it got a bit dry, but that honey makes it so much better. The gumbo was also tasty. It wasn't overly spiced like most gumbos I've had. Highly recommend! My husband ordered the red beans and rice which I didn't taste since I'm not a fan of that kind of dish typically. As a dry person, I rate all bars on their availability of Shirley Temples. Happy to report they indeed serve them here. Bonus for the TWO cherries I received in my drink.

I recommend checking out this blink-and-you'll-miss-it restaurant located north of the city. We went there during the restaurant week and it was a great deal. We did the two for $28 deal which got us 2 entrees and 2 deserts and everything was delicious. The vibe of the place was a little strange. There were 2 rooms one of which was way louder than the other even though there were about the same number of people in each room. There was also a ping pong table which looked in a pretty bad shape. Although the food was good, I think it was a little pricey if it wasn't for the restaurant week deal. If you're in the area and are in the mood of good beer and good food then check out this place. There are equal if not better options in the city.

Build your own, half pep, green pep and bacon. Second half grn olives, ham and portobello mushroom. Yum!

We only stayed for one drink but I would definitely come back for another sometime. The bartenders were also really kind and having a good time with everyone in there! So when my family and I were walking around downtown Grand Rapids and needed a place to eat breakfast, we popped into Social Misfits because their menu is basically 90% waffles. My kids love waffles. Every kid loves waffles. Waffles it is! This is a great restaurant for families (because ... waffles), but also a great restaurant for adults because they have a nice selection of creative cocktails in the evening, and coffee in the morning. Social Misfits is basically waffles, alcohol and caffeine, in that order. When we visited in the morning, the adults opted for coffee (really great black coffee!) and the kids both opted for the Little Lad, a waffle topped with strawberries, blueberries and chantilly cream (basically whipped cream, but a little sweeter and whipped a little longer). Both of my children ate most of their waffle, which is a big thing, considering they usually eat like birds. We also got the Son of a Biscuit, which was a garlic parmesan waffle topped with chicken sausage gravy and a fried egg. You could add fried chicken to the mix for an extra $6 (we did not). This one was fine, but the egg was way overcooked! Oh well. Lastly: We got the Ol' Blue Eyes, a waffle topped with blueberry compote, lemon curd, whipped ricotta and graham cracker crumbs. This one tasted amazing, but there was so much blueberry compote and lemon curd that it made the waffle a bit soggy. I think the chef was feeling generous with the toppings, but homie needed to hold back a tad. Sometimes, a little bit goes a long way! Fifty percent less gloppy stuff would have made this waffle dish 100% better. If you ain't really about that waffle life, then not to worry. Social Misfits also has a few "not waffles" items on the menu, like salads, sandwiches and a couple of bar snacks. But I think if you visit this restaurant, you need to just embrace waffles. There are more than a dozen different waffles on the menu. They're all fun and well-thought-out. Pick one and eat waffles for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Bar seating is first come first served so I went right after work and got there about 4:45. There were a ton of seats open at the bar. A friend met me at 5pm. We were seated with Fin, the bartender. He was awesome- very attentive but not overbearing. I could tell when he was coming by to peek in on us but he never interrupted our conversation. He would glance over and check our drinks and pause, and then keep moving. I'm sure if I was alone he would've provided me with some banter, he seems nice enough. He recommended a cocktail - The Last Word. I've had one before and this one did not disappoint. The other drinks I had were the espresso martini and the New York sour- both favorites of mine and done very well by Fin. I love that this bar uses frosty glasses for their cocktails. It's a nice touch. I had to have the Wagyu meatballs. They're mentioned in many reviews and people at work agreed they're a must have. My friend wasn't very hungry so I ate 5 out of the 6 haha. The bread that comes w it is a focaccia that is his divine! I thought it was deep fried but it's just soaked in oil and then heated on the griddle. The meatballs are Wagyu 75/25 so kinda fatty but so smooth. They are served with a marinara sauce and ricotta. So good. Would get this again. The menu looks awesome but we were just there for drinks and snacks. Next time I'll make a reservation (Resy) and have dinner. Parking is typically awful. No valet. Bathrooms are multi sex unistalls, clean. The restaurant is noisy- maybe not a great first date spot. Seemed to be a lot of well to do people in the restaurant, based on the outfits and accessories I saw. Might be a place to meet someone new if it wasn't so loud and incredibly busy. It's hard to get a table during dinner hours especially if the weather is perfect. But try your best to get in. They do take walk ins and it's worth an hour wait.
