This is a restaurant and bar with simulator bays. How fun! Most simulators are set up for just golf but I saw other sports equipment in other bays, so they may have some throwing style games as well. You can eat, drink, and play golf - you can do it all or you can do just one. However, if you plan on playing golf / using a simulator bay, you should call or go online and make a reservation. It gets busy there. I love that they have seasonal cocktails. They had some special ones for st Patrick's day. They also have happy hour M-F from 2-6pm. I booked a bay, it charges per 30 min. The hour was $65. I had one cocktail. I got a briefing on the system and I was on my way to playing a very difficult golf course in South Korea. They have club upgrades but I stuck with the standard bag. I had a great time. Next time I will choose an easier golf course! Also, I believe the server calculates their tip not only on what you buy but also your bay time. So I'll review my check a little closer next time. The sell golf gloves if you need one/forgot yours. There is a small parking lot next to the building or you can park on the street or garage nearby. Bathrooms are on all levels. Fun place. I'll be back. read more

I'm a fan! I'll be honest, I didn't have high hopes for Gimme's. In my head, if the business model is centered around golf simulators, I expected food to be an afterthought. Glad to be proven wrong! It's greasy-ish bar food at the end of the day, but the happy hour specials were really affordable and the food was very good. Fries were seasoned well, chicken tenders were crispy, and the poutine was done well too. Very beige plates all around though. Golf simulator side of things was awesome. They've got ones with extra sports too so you can play t-ball, pitch, throw a football, kick a field goal, play hockey, or kick a soccer ball on a penalty kick. You can bring your own clubs and practice as well. Very cool experience, very spacious, and perfect for birthday parties for kids who like sports or late night group activities that isn't bowling. I was so impressed with the chicken wings!! I'm dissatisfied that I didn't try Gimme's sooner. We did not do any of the activities or gold simulators while we were there, but will definitely be back for it. What we did experience was the high quality food options, and the perfect game day atmosphere with huge TVs. This place was rocking for the Lions game! This place had some elevated options compared to a normal sports bar including a bolognese thats was fantastic, and some garlic parm chicken wings that are some of the best Ive had in the city! It's restaurant week! I saw an exposé on Fox 17 news for their $35- 3 course meal- and had to visit this establishment. First time here and it's a fun lively spot where we saw people playing golf and soccer sports simulations, decent drink specials and sports televised everywhere! I opted for the $35 restaurant week special of homemade pumpkin goat cheese ravioli with crispy sage and brown butter sauce. Everything was perfectly balanced. My first bite brought a genuine smile to my lips. It's been a long time since I've had something perfectly assembled, well conceived, and tasty classic flavors from a restaurant. Awesome start. Next, came the steak with a compound herb butter, date coulis atop a bed of roasted beets and carrots. Again, well balanced flavors of umami, sweet, salty. It was rich, but as with great dishes the more I ate the more I craved. For dessert, I chose the skillet chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce. This was shared with the table and was also rich and tasty. My experience was 5 stars. I didn't expect this level of tastiness, great service, and awesome value all at this unassuming albeit trendy golf simulator bar. I can't attest for their regular menu, but I can say the chef that crafted this Restaurant Weeks menu did so with thoughtfulness, care and precision. Highly recommend. Go before this menu expires! Don't you love stumbling upon a great restaurant unexpectedly? That was the case with Gimme's Par & Grill. My family and I intended to go somewhere else, but it didn't work out. And so, we were left wandering the streets of downtown Grand Rapids, searching for a restaurant that was open that might have food that adults and kids would like. Gimme's sounded intriguing. Indoor golf simulators inside the restaurant? Fun! We didn't end up playing any simulated golf, but we watched other people play it from our table. There are two private rooms with golf simulators, and of course, it's an extra fee to play. Which is why we didn't play! Oh, to be the tightwad mom. As for the rest of the restaurant: There's a huge bar with lots of TVs playing all kinds of different sports. There are tables and booths to sit at, too, if you don't want to sit at the bar (or if you have children with you). The Gimme's kids menu was impressive. Yes, of course, they have kid favorites like cheeseburgers and chicken tenders. But they also have steak tips and salmon! I like that the menu doesn't underestimate a kid's palate. My kid wanted to order the salmon, but unfortunately, the salmon was more than double the price of everything else, so I directed him toward something more economical. (Again! Oh, to be the tightwad mom.) But kudos to my kid for wanting the expensive fish. We also got the Classic Burger, which was a double patty burger and came with fries. The fries are truly great! So great, that I palmed a handful from my kid's plate on our way out, and I took them with me to savor in the car. We also got the fish and chips (more great fries!), and the burrata appetizer, which I ate as my main. Sometimes, I like to order things that are intended for two to four people, and eat them all by myself. So indulgent! The burrata was cold and milky and creamy, and drizzled with balsamic, on top of marinated tomatoes and basil. Slices of toasted crostini brushed with olive oil came with the dish. Even though I was eating a whole ball of burrata and half of a baguette by myself, the dish felt light and nourishing. The service at Gimme's was great. We wanted for nothing the entire time. The space is great and definitely a fun spot for sports related activities. We didn't partake in any of the rooms but we're just celebrating a family night out before a Gold game. The rooms looked fun though with alot of options to play virtually (saw some top golf type games, corn hole, and many more). The regular restaurant seating was fun to with lots of TVs for games, we happened to catch some playoff football. The food was pretty solid- plenty of options. Our boys kids meals were tasty with pizza and chicken tenders. The chicken tenders were not cheap ones but hearty and very well done, kids gobbled them up. My nachos were solid, they had a spicy green sauce that was tasty and they brought me more out too, added a little extra kick of flavor, but I'd add salsa and melted creamy cheese to Up it some more but it was still tasty in my book. My wife's fish and chips were very good in her opinion as well and a big serving and the fries had great seasoning on them. Our server was great, he had some great recommendations and knowledge of the menu. Checked in frequently enough and relayed extra sauces and drinks that came out fast with the team work. Just stopped in for drinks and to enjoy the Detroit Tigers game on the massive television screens, but was impressed enough by the service and fun activities available that a repeat visit is already being planned! Granted, I visited on a Saturday evening during the annual St. Paddy's Day Irish Off Ionia festivities. It's all hands on deck for the downtown bars. I get it. And they had the green beer, etc.--I have to believe a downtown hotspot knows how to level up for busy times (after Griffins games, post-Broadway shows, St. Paddy's Day, etc.). And the dining room wasn't even full. Yet the food last night was a whopping meh for the downtown price. I got their namesake burger. The patties were tiny and cooked to the point where I couldn't taste any meat. And the fries--their specialty truffle fries--were lifeless and lacked flavor. They looked hopelessly scattered on the platter next to the burger. My friend said his chicken tenders were leathery and dry. I think the big draw here are the sports screens and golf simulators. Stop in if you want a drink, but I'll get burgers elsewhere and hope things go better on another night. read more

Welcome to Grand Rapids, Gimme's! Nate and I stopped in recently and loved learning about this brand new spot downtown that features sports simulators and a full bar/restaurant. The space is huge, with a large bar on the main floor and two open simulator bays. There are more bays upstairs as well as an additional bar. Our server Esvin was awesome and gave us great recommendations. The menu is large, with tons of shareables, salads, entrees, sandwiches, burgers, and pizza. They have drink options for everyone, including some interesting cocktails, a few zero proof drinks, and a fun mystery seltzer or beer - it comes in a brown bag so it's a surprise. Nate ended up getting a Rolling Rock. I tried the pineapple yuzu mojito, which was pretty sweet but fruity. The smoky blood orange margarita was my favorite - not too smoky or sweet. We ordered the tenderloin tips and the trufflevore pizza. The tenderloin tips came as a single skewer, so I'd definitely recommend ordering a couple if you have a larger group. The steak was tender and seasoned well, and we liked the horseradish sauce. The pizza was SO good - I know Detroit pizza is super popular and I do love it, but this Chicago tavern style was really nice with a thin, cracker-like crust (no deep dish here). The toppings were plentiful and I loved the sliced sausage. I didn't really get a truffle flavor, but that's okay as truffle can be pretty overpowering. I would absolutely order pizza here again - it was so cheesy and delicious, and the sauce was perfect (not too sweet). We didn't play in any of the sports simulators, but they have golf, soccer, football, shooting games, arcade games, and more. Stopped in for dinner before a concert. Pros: Dante (sp?), the bartender, waited on me and was very friendly. He was understanding when I had to go back to my truck to get my wallet in order to pay. I apologized a couple times for the faux pas. - Shrimp pasta w/bacon was very good and a sufficient portion. Lots of shrimp. - Nice ambiance to relax and watch sports highlights - No charge on my Diet Coke was a nice surprise. Applied it to the tip. Cons: The pasta really needed a breadstick or piece of garlic toast to finish up the remaining sauce. I will return when next in town for a concert or game. read more

My wife and I stopped in last night for dinner. We got there shortly after 5, during happy hour. We were seated immediately, and service was great! They have really good happy hour deals, including $9.5 burgers, chicken tenders and pizzas. Drinks are $6 wine, $5 selected cocktails and $4 beers. I had a house Chicago tavern style pizza, and my wife had a chicken rice bowl. We both really enjoyed our food, and there were many other options that looked good. I would give 4.5 stars if I could. This is the 2nd time we've been to Gimme's before an event at Van Andel and I have to say, the food is DELICIOUS! I had salads both times, my husband burgers and my daughter had a pizza. All were really great. My beet salad was loaded with goat cheese and the dressing complimented it really well. My daughter's pizza was thin and crispy, just how I like it. I didn't try the burger, but it looked yummy! And the fries are the good battered ones with seasoning. They have a nice happy hour with food and drink specials as well. Such a disappointment my wife and I took our two children to use the golf simulator. The area was filthy something spilled all over the floor table had food stuck to it. Food was the most disappointing part of it all nachos cold and just gross. Pork belly burnt ends ok but nothing special. Best new place in town! We rented a multi-sport bay for an hour and were able to do golf, frisbee golf, and soccer with our family of 4 before we ran out of time. There were many other sports like hockey, basketball, football, foot golf and more. Could've easily stayed another hour! Golf clubs, balls, frisbees and all of the equipment is provided, but you are also able to bring your own if you prefer. The food was top-notch. A HUGE selection and something for everyone. We got the tenderloin tips as an appetizer. Our amazing waiter recommended we get the meal (Tips and Frites) because the appetizer only had one skewer of steak and we'd get more for our money with the meal. This was a great suggestion and the tenderloin was SO TENDER and seasononed perfectly. The parmesan truffle fries were out of this world with a perfect crunch on the outside and soft inside. For our meal, I got the Steak Au Pouivre Sandwich without the bun to keep it low-carb. I cannot imagine eating this as a sandwich. It was so saucy and cheesy in the best way that a fork was the way to go. I will get this again. The rest of the family enjoyed the Bacon Royale (bacon bun, need I say more?), the classic chicken sandwich, and the chicken tenders. Definitely check this place out and come hungry! read more
