Stopped in here with a friend before an event. I will need to go back to get a full experience, but the short time we were there was nice. It was a hot day, but after work the patio was out of the sun, so we opted for a table outside. The patio is cute. I like that there are a bunch of 2 person tables rather than large party tables, and the lights are nice. Our server was very pleasant. She definitely knew what she was talking about and was able to tell us if something was going to be super sweet, and which drinks were more popular. Also, after she seated us and gave us the menu she gave us a few minutes and came back with waters and little samples of lavender lemonade, which was really good! I ordered the rosemary gin fizz, and my friend ordered one of the zero proof mocktails. She was warned it would be sweet, and she said it was definitely sweet for her taste. I was told my gin fizz was a little sweet as well, but I didn't find it to be overly sweet. I thought it was really nicely balanced, and wasn't excessive on any of the individual flavors. I was hoping for a little more of a salted rim, but it had more of a decorative salt patch on the side. That's the only thing I would probably change about it. Oh, and it's called a fizz, but is definitely still, not sparkling. While we weren't there to eat, and it is a distillery, not a restaurant, I did expect to see a few more food options. I can't knock them for that though, as we didn't try any. Overall, I would go back here for a quick happy hour or to have a quick drink again before an event. It was a sunny, warm day so we were looking for a patio to enjoy the weather and have a cocktail and found less traveled. Their outdoor space is great, lots of seating and in a great part of cherry street (ice cream shop right across the street was tempting!). We were seated right away and our server was super helpful with my many questions and gave us some great recommendations and walked us through the menu because there are quite a lot of options and can be kind of intimidating. We had the Midwest old fashioned and a raspberry Tom Collin's, which I believe is a seasonal drink. They do have rotating menus, so it gives you something new to come back for. This is an extension of a distillery so expect drinks and small plates. We arrived and were asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside..we chose inside and were seated promptly. The waitress was very pleasant and offered information and background on the distally..I ordered a Margarita flight my husband ordered a whiskey flight. Mom has a shot! We also ordered a charcuterie board but it was more like a charcuterie tray without silverware or plates. I had to ask for extra napkins and went to the bathroom twice so I could wash my hands. Four of us arrived around 10:15pm for a nightcap. There was no one sitting down at tables and a few folks at the bar. We went up to the bar and was told we had to be at a table. No problem. The person then casually continued a conversation with someone at the bar (they were not busy) and left us to try and figure out where to sit as while there were three dirty tables. We were then directed to a dirty table in the back. Then waited. After a few minutes someone came over and said, they close at 11 and it was last call and wanted to take our order. We had to then ask if he or someone could clean off the table as it was clearly dirty. He said nothing, walked away, came back and brushed half the table pushing the obvious food remnants to the floor. He didn't even clean the whole table! Then we get our order in, and get drinks and was asked to close out the tab. All while their friends were sitting at the bar. We quickly finished our drinks and agreed never to return. We were made to feel like we were impending the staffs time with friends at the bar. No one was directly rude but the entire experience was absolutely rude. read more

Less traveled is a new spot for me, tucked away on Cherry st, it features a lengthy in house cocktail menu, romantic lighting and some N/A drinks. The fairy lights strung about make for a perfect quiet date night, I've always been about aesthetically spots for drinks and LT fits the bill for me. My only complaint was the service was a bit slow, cocktails took awhile to come out for the busyness of the evening. If I'm going to drink a cocktail, I want it to be really good. I'd been hearing great things about Less Traveled, a new cocktail bar by the folks at Long Road, so Nate and I stopped by recently to check it out and relax on their patio on Cherry Street. Long Road is known as one of the better cocktail bars in the area, so it's exciting that they have a new spot closer to where we live. The patio is a great size and a nice addition to the area. We were offered a short explanation of how the menu is arranged and then given a little sample cocktail. I can't remember what it was, but it was light, fruity, and a bit sweet. The menu ranges from lighter cocktails towards the front, with more spirit-forward options on the later pages. I ordered the pink moon and Nate got the arugula vesper. I was expecting the pink moon to be much sweeter than it was - and was surprised that the arugula vesper was pretty sweet. They infuse simple syrup with arugula for that drink. I honestly didn't get much of an arugula flavor, which I was really hoping for since it's one of my favorite greens. The drinks were beautiful and expertly crafted. Cocktails at Less Traveled range from $8-$15 which I think is really reasonable and in line with most other cocktail bars in town. They also have some more basic drinks starting at $6 and tastes of their different spirits for $3-$4.50. I'd like to come back and try some other options! I'd love to see more non-alcoholic options, like actual drinks rather than just some soda options. read more

We had a good experience here. I was so happy to see that Long Road was opening another location. It's a very swanky, cool place. A fair amount of seating indoors, plus bar seating, and a large patio out front. The drinks are great. They have a very easy to read menu, plus you can order any typical cocktail from the selection of spirits they have. My server talked me into getting a particular drink, and when I didn't like it sure offered to get me something else and took it off the bill. The service was really good - the female server that we had was excellent. There were only a few other people there (it was a Tuesday night) so no wait getting a table, but that doesn't speak for weekends. They don't have food. Just know that coming in. read more

This is a great spot to grab a drink before or after dinner at another nearby location (Maru, Vivant, Green Well, Grove). Drinks are pricey at around $15 average but are extremely pretty and well crafted. All ingredients are made in house which is fun. I found both my gin drinks to be extremely sweet. Service was wonderful. They know their stuff and are attentive. Ambience felt a bit colder than I would have liked. It's very open (tall ceilings) with lots of spacing between tables. What an amazing addition to Eastown! We've been in need of more bars/restaurants in this area and Less Traveled is a great addition. They have an amazing indoor and outdoor area. The ~vibes~ are perfect. Low lighting, comfy seating, cool decor. We sat at the bar and it was so fun to watch them make all the drinks. They have so many options depending on your liquor choice. I got the Live in the Garden (gin, blackberries and basil) and my partner got the espresso martini. Aaron the bartender was super helpful and you even get a starter drink to clear your palate. We were served by a manager, and she was a delight, and exceptionally helpful as we worked our way through the menu. Greeted with an amuse-bouche cocktail even! The environment is really strong, and I appreciated all of the small touches - beautiful drinkware, beautifully designed and illustrated menus. Our table tried seven cocktails across the menu. Arugula Vesper was a standout for sure. Two (small!) criticisms: the drinks were all tasty, but they definitely skewed on the sweet side across the board. None undrinkable, but certainly a consideration if sweet isn't your preference. Also, the soap in the bathroom reminded me much more of a gas station than a cocktail bar. My friend and I stopped here back in June not long after they opened. We really loved the ample outdoor seating (gotta soak up that Michigan summer at every opportunity!) since their flagship location on the west side only has some summer side street tables. The nod to mid-century modern in the design as well as the glassware that were selected for this location were appreciated by both of us. While I miss having the option of ordering an in-house snack, I understand that opening another kitchen is a huge endeavor. The cocktails, as always, were creative and delicious. Looking forward to seeing if the menu shifts with the season to embrace more warm or savory cocktails as the cool weather sets in. read more

This should have been a 5 star...I was looking forward to showing my husband this new (to me) place I had learned of from a friend. When we arrived at Less Traveled it was at the most 2/3 full. The seats in front of the window were completely empty...there were at least 4 seats at the bar and once we were seated we learned that there would have been at least 4 tables we could have sat at. The hostess explained that they had just had a rush of people, they needed to catch up, restock, etc. and we could not be seated for ten minutes...Mistake #1...we are very understanding customers who very rarely complain (I've worked in the restaurant industry for over 6 years and appreciate that things happen)...you should have sat us, gave us some water and explain that it may take a little time to get our drinks. Had you done that I would have had such a good impression of your place and would not be leaving a 3 star review. Mistake #2...when I asked if we could wait by the hostess stand - she replied "If you want". "If I want???"...do you want us to walk around outside for ten minutes in the cold or do you want us to leave completely? Wow! While we were waiting we saw 2 large parties leave (10-12 people). When we were finally sat, the restaurant was at best 1/3 full. The next person who sat us apologized and I just said "We are only here for a drink" and she replied a little snarkily "That's all we serve". Once we were sat we saw EVERYONE else get seated immediately. And the place completely filled up. I'm assuming they were caught up at that point?? But still - there is no reason we couldn't have been sat and waiting for ten minutes at our table vs. standing by the door. At this point - I would have left a 1 star. Thankfully it turned around once we were sat...the menu has a lot of options that we both wanted to try. Our server (Claire) also apologized and was so nice and polite. Water was brought to our table along with an amuse-bouche cocktail - what a fun surprise! Our drinks were delicious and mine was one of the most beautiful drinks I've ever seen. The ambiance was exactly as I hoped and a fun place to enjoy a drink before dinner. It's unfortunate that one person can sour your first impression of a place. I would love to go back but will always remember how we were treated when we first arrived. I understand if all the tables were full and I had to wait, but they weren't.
