Noco Provisions, Grand Rapids, Michigan While visiting a local whom I've known since law school 40 years ago, we stopped at Noco Provisions on Cascade Road, Grand Rapids in late June 2026. We arrived around 5:30 p.m., early enough that there were still places to sit, inside and outside. Our host explained that the tables were full at the moment, predicting a table would be ready within 15 minutes. We agreed and headed to the bar. As we were getting settled there a table opened up and we brought our drinks from the bar to the table (Sonoma Cutrer Chardonnay, $15; White Claw ($5) and a Bombay Sapphire ($10), all subject to a 3.5% surcharge, which is never actually explained, so we can't tell if the server gets to share in the benefit of the surcharge or whether he or she gets nothing from the charge. I assumed the restaurant was not sharing this money with the service staff, so I tipped as though she was not a beneficiary of the charge. Service both at the bar and at our table was great. I ordered the Prime Rib French Dip ($22.00, thinly sliced prime rib topped with melted white cheddar and au jus. Served on a toasted hoagie bun with fries). The meal was presented with less than a 20-minute wait, totally in line with the venue. Our server was observant (she kept our water glasses full) and helpful. Since the sandwich was pretty substantial, I was able to box up half plus the leftover fries, making a great lunch the next day. The ambiance of the restaurant is quite nice, it has a nice upscale feel to the place. I have been dying to try this place but unfortunately, I wasn't blown away by the food. Slightly overpriced for food that was in my opinion mediocre. We ordered the Nashville hot chicken wrap, although the chicken was pleasantly crispy however on the drier side and it was too much crisp to chicken ratio. You don't get that juicy perfectly cooked chicken bite that you would anticipate. I also wouldn't call it Nashville hot. This is close and convenient to my work so every once in a while I go back but the prices don't really match the quality. I recently got a salmon salad thing and the salmon was super salty and the dressing it came with overpowered the flavor of everything else. I normally just go across the street for their salad bar but I've been on a salmon kick and was pretty disappointed. I will say the service was great and the hostess was super friendly. read more

Stopped in for lunch with my mom today. We were quickly sat at a half booth/half table near the bar. Our waitress came over to get our drink order - my mom got a coke and I got a diet with a lime. Our waitress was in such a hurry that she brought me a lemon instead. We ordered the Caprise chicken sandwich on ciabatta and Cobb salad. They split both dishes for us, which was very nice! The sandwich was so good and very fresh! Loved the pesto on it! The salad dressing was yummy, and my first time with quinoa on a salad - highly recommend! My husband and I met another couple here on a Saturday and had reservations, so we were seated right away. Unfortunately, the experience quickly went downhill. My husband has a severe egg allergy, and when we informed our server, he stated that he did not know how to accommodate it. I was surprised, as egg allergies are fairly common. He even joked that he only knew about gluten. He eventually checked on one menu item and returned to tell us it contained egg, but offered no alternative suggestions or guidance. He then said he was too busy and would have someone else assist us. When another staff member came to the table, it was clear she had not been informed of the situation, as she asked how she could help and was equally unsure how to accommodate the allergy. As a result, my husband was unable to eat at all while the rest of us had dinner. It was very disappointing and concerning that such a significant allergy was not taken seriously by multiple staff members. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone with food allergies. Despite appearing to be an upscale establishment, the lack of knowledge, communication, and willingness to verify ingredients made it clear that we were not a priority. We were left with the impression that they were simply too busy to handle allergy concerns safely. read more

This is a review of the private room my son-in-law's family had reserved for the wedding rehearsal dinner for their son & my daughter this September (2025). When we noticed there was only one person working the room with over 25 of us, some of us were a bit worried. We figured we'd have to wait for everything but we were beyond pleasantly surprised that Marilyn handled everything incredibly well. It was honestly as if there were 3 people taking care of the room. Noco has been on my list for a while so I'm happy I was able to finally try it! Came for dinner on a Thursday night and it was pretty busy! We waited for 20 minutes for a table. As for parking, their actual parking lot was completely full so I just parked behind the building next door and walked over. It was nice outside so we were able to sit on the patio and it was great vibes. I had a glass of one of their red wines and it was good. On Thursdays they have the following specials: $2 off cocktails & Michigan craft beer, and 99 cent wings. For an app my friends and I went with the baked goat cheese dip. It was good and lowkey kinda tasted like pizza lol. My friends and I noted that there was the perfect ratio of pita chips to dip was perfect which is not normally the case. For my entree I had the cavatappi pasta and added chicken for an upcharge. I really enjoyed this and it satisfied the craving I had for pasta. The chicken was cooked perfect and seasoned really well. I also really liked the cream sauce that was on it. The service was a little slow at times but it was busy so that's understandable. I finally made it back to Noco Provisions after not visiting since 2017. I met up with a friend for lunch on a Saturday and had a nice experience. The parking lot was not full when I arrived, but I'm not sure where you'd park if it was since it's located on a busy corner. We got a cozy booth near the bar and browsed the menu. The menu includes "Northern comfort" dishes. I'd describe their food as new American, with salads, sandwiches, some entrees, pizza, etc. Everything sounded pretty good to me, but nothing really stood out as anything super innovative. I ordered the blackened salmon sammy with fries, and my friend got the smoked salmon nicoise salad. I was happy with my food - the salmon was cooked nicely, and I liked the addition of the fennel/kale slaw. The sandwich was super messy to eat and I eventually had to go the fork and knife route as the bun didn't hold up well. Our server was also bartending, but he did a good job of checking in on us throughout. They have some daily specials throughout the week and happy hour. Overall it's a decent spot and I'd come back again if invited, but it's not a spot that I would necessarily seek out. read more

Revisited after a few years and this place is still awesome in my book! I do recommend making a reservation if you can. We didn't make one and waited almost an hour for a table. We were told 45-50 minutes wait when we arrived and decided to put our name down. The bar is first come first serve but so many others waiting were competitively watching for open seats. Once we were seated, our server immediately brought us some waters and took our drink order. I tried Ze French 75 and my friend ordered the Jesse Gemstone. Both very delicious drinks. None of the appetizers were catching our eye so we skipped over those and ordered some entrees. I ordered the Cavatappi Pasta and added salmon to mine which costs $8 more. The noodles were delicious and drenched in a white wine creamy sauce with butternut squash and brussel sprouts. Absolutely delicious! Loved this dish! As it was very busy, we waited almost a half hour for our server to notice we were done eating and then were able to pay our bill and leave. Our server even though he was busy was very kind. This is definitely one of our favorite go to in Grand Rapids. I keep trying to find a better burger, but they continue to win every time. We love John and Steve at the bar. The food is always great. They are really good with gluten-free. They have a separate gluten-free fryer for french fries which is amazing. Their gluten-free chicken sandwich is a must. It's so hard to believe there's no gluten in that awesomeness. The happy hour is phenomenal. I highly recommend getting the nachos with the ground beef. Don't be stupid and get chicken. Everyone commented on the delicious buffet meal and praised the service provided by Marilyn....we never could have imagined one server could manage the entire room of 50 but she was AMAZING! Everyone commented on her, the ambience and food all night long. For the hosts, the cost was very reasonable for such a great experience. Great ambience and really liked the musician. We waited a good 15 minutes for the waiter to come by and bring water. Drinks came out in spurts and I finally got my soft drink after waiting another 10 minutes. We put in our order and 3 of the 4 items were wrong. The cheese on the pesto grilled cheese was actually cold. I asked for an egg on my burger and specifically asked for it to be a soft yolk. Came out hard as a rock. We also asked for the fries to be hot. They were only lukewarm. The fries were immediately fixed. It took a while for the grilled cheese and when my egg came out the burger was now cold. I got a new burger and it was very good. My other little pet peeve is they charge a credit card surcharge. It was not on the menu and I only noticed it after I paid and saw it on the receipt. When you are paying $18+ for a grilled cheese and for a burger I feel it should be part of doing business. Not sure I will be back. read more

Eaten here several times, and this has been the first time since we could sit inside since the covid regulations. Tables were social distanced and staff was friendly as always. We ordered the shrimp app and brussel sprouts app. Shrimp was fried with a mild tangy aioli sauce (similar to bang bang sauce flavors). Thought the breading was a little too thick overpowering the shrimp, but overall tasty. The sprouts were delicious...fried and crisp with large, crispy bacon pieces, feta cheese and balsamic drizzle. Yummy! My husband got the Reuben sandwich that was off of their St Patty's menu, and he enjoyed it with a delicious side of fries. They have a great happy hour menu that runs till 6pm with drink price specials and a pretty extensive designated happy hour menu. Parking can be limited in the front of the restaurant, so may need to find parking in the side lot. read more

Lacking service the last 2 times I visited (lunch and happy hour). The manager Ryan didn't show ownership/accountability to a customer concern. This type of management obviously passes down to the front of house staff who appear to miss the value (and training) in customer care and hospitality. Noco Provisions is close to my workplace and I've been there a few times for lunch. The salads are amazing!

Had lunch at Noco this week (outdoors!) with two friends to celebrate a birthday. While we weren't able to snag one of their domes on the patio, we did get a spot in the heated tent and it was great! It was warm despite being open on both ends. There was no wind, heaters everywhere and the tables were all spaced out. They've got a great set up. The food was great too. One of the cooks actually walked our food out and it was hot! I had the salmon sandwich with a side salad and it was very good. Another had the avocado mash toast and she said it was tasty and that last had the club wrap - clean plate club! They also have outdoor fire pits right now for standing around if you're into that. The service was great and parking was easy. I give 4 stars because of location. It's on a busy street corner across from a gas station and a grocery store - it's not the prettiest scene when you look out the west side of the tent. But the see through tent roof and the lights helped with ambiance! read more

a friend recommended this restaurant to me, and i'm glad i listened. the restaurant was welcoming and clean. yes, i said clean in my second sentence - seriously, we've all wandered into dining establishments that should have been shut down by the health department years ago... greeter/hostess was so friendly. we were seated immediately and given menus. our server didn't show up until about eight minutes later, but she was very sweet and cheerful. cheery people usually bug the hell outta me, but she was able to pull it off quite well. i ordered a pinot noir and my lovely date had beer on tap. we ordered chicken wings and pizza. i actually drank all my wine before the food showed up, but was able to remedy this by ordering another glass. sometimes i amaze myself with my foresight. chicken wings were good, i was happy they were hot, and not clammy, like i have experienced in other restaurants, followed by a night of crying on a bathroom floor, but i digress. the pizza was okay, it kind of reminded me of a frozen pizza. it wasn't terrible, it was just reminiscent of maybe high school cafeteria pizza. not horrifying, but also, not amazing. i would not have been surprised, had it been delivered by a matron wearing a hair net. however, pizza aside, the staff is amazing - i watched other servers converse with their patrons and all the exchanges were amicable. it does tend to get a bit loud, but i think it was mainly coming from the table of six, that, judging from the high pitch and squeals, appeared to have been drinking longer than we had. as i cherish my unbloody eardrums, i decided it was probably time to leave. i live in iowa. grand rapids is a ten hour drive away. however, i'll return to noco the next time i'm in town. seriously, the staff here is impressive. and if you knew me, you'd understand why it is beyond belief that i would utter those words. read more

What a great new place! We had a four-top here, and everyone enjoyed themselves and their food. We had some cocktails, craft beer, appetizers, and meals. The service was excellent, and the decor/interior of the restaurant was outstanding - very nice, new and clean! We ordered the Happy Nachos and calamari to start and both were delicious. I would totally recommend the nachos, and you can also get them in a dinner sized portion. For dinner, they had a Red Snapper and risotto feature for the night, so a couple of us ordered that, the others ordered the baby back ribs, and a steak. Everyone loved their meals, and they came out in a perfectly timely manner following our apps. I would highly recommend checking this new place out - we all loved it. read more

Atmosphere is amazing, could easily sit in the restaurant for hours. The menu was great and the kaboom shrimp is highly recommended....like bonefish grills bang bang shrimp but good. My wife loved the salami and would recommend it to anybody. I ordered my ribeye medium rare and it came out raw, cold in the middle. Flavor was great and had a great sear but it had to be sent back. Second time around it was perfect. Great location, atmosphere, and flavors. Disappointed that they didn't temp the meat before serving but I will be back. read more

My wife and I stopped in for a late dinner. The appetizers sounded like the best option so we ended up ordering 3 appetizers and a dessert. There was a short (10min) wait at 8pm on a Thursday. The place was definitely busy and the servers were running around. I wouldn't call the service slow but I would call it overwhelmed. They seemed to be trying their best to just keep up with the crowd, which I can't complain about. There were a few times at multiple tables where the wrong items were brought out which showed that not everyone knows the table numbers. The appetizers we went with were the fingerling potatoes, nachos, and poke. All three were fantastic and it was the perfect portion of food to share. The only thing we would have changed was the cheese on the nachos just tasted like melted American cheese or velveeta. I would have liked to have a more authentic queso style. The poke was by far my favorite dish. The pineapple and tuna was the perfect mix. It did seem pretty difficult to eat once you put it on your wonton. The taste was great though and we both agreed that it was our favorite. The potatoes were cooked perfectly and the sauce was a great addition to the plate. I'm not a huge blue cheese fan but the dish wasn't overpowered by it. The dish was spicier than we expected but it had great flavor. We would have also liked some sour cream or ranch to help balance the spice. For dessert, we went with their Pastry Chefs special, the butterscotch blondie. This was incredible. The only thing I'd change was that we wanted some more ice cream rather than the little scoop! The blondie was so flavorful and very sweet. I wish they had this all the time!
