This place is heavy, man. When I walked in, I could barely see, it was so dimly lit. They led us right to where our one friend had already made it, and bit by bit we assembled. For every pro, there is a con. Well, kinda. Pro: Extensive selection on tap. Con: One of our beer lists was outdated, and they last updated the rest 3 days ago. So not a 1:1 match. Pro: Most of the beer is local. My dark lager came from Comstock Park, as had I not 30 minutes prior. Con: There are seven sister locations, so this is actually a small chain, not a local independent establishment. And most of the sisters are uppity-looking from their names. Pro: Delicious food all around, everyone agreed. 5 star taste. Con: Very heavy, calorie-intensive, etc. Don't expect to eat healthy. Pro: Great waitress who got our sense of humor, willing to take a group photo. Con: umm... didn't sit with us and join our table... umm... okay no cons with her. Pros outweigh the cons. Come for the food, stay for the beer, or something like that. Bring your appetite and don't be on a diet. But do bring a flashlight to read the menu. Really nice ambiance and attitude when we walked in. A very pleasant wait staff as well. The menu looked to have some creative fun options. We started with a goat cheese and beer cheese appetizers. The goat cheese was not tasting good at all but the beer cheese was ok, we shared that around the table. My wife has the shrimp scampi, the noodles weren't cooked through and same for the shrimp, she didn't end up eating it. I had the barbecue plate. The pulled pork was fantastic, really great taste. Don't serve brisket if you aren't going to cook it right, just don't offer it. The brisket tasted like a tire. All that with drinks for $160. Just doesn't cut it. I'm currently sitting at my kitchen table eating grapes in a desperate attempt to cleanse my tongue of the horrendous taste I just experienced at Gravity. I love pretty much any kind of meat covered in BBQ sauce, so naturally, I ordered the BBQ platter. It came with a variety of meats, including brisket and pulled pork, along with plenty of sides. Because I love BBQ sauce so much, I made sure to ask for extra. When the platter arrived, it honestly looked beautiful. The meat looked tender, the sides looked delicious, and for a brief moment, I thought I had made the perfect choice. Then my nose picked up the extremely pungent smell coming from the BBQ sauce. I should have taken that as a warning, but I remained optimistic. As one does, I generously dipped a piece of pulled pork into the sauce and opened wide for a big bite. The second that sauce touched my tongue, my entire body went into survival mode. I nearly gagged at the table. The only way I can describe the flavor is like someone mixed citrus juice, straight vinegar, battery acid, and the liquid from the bottom of a garbage can, then confidently labeled it "BBQ sauce." It wasn't smoky. It wasn't sweet. It wasn't even pleasantly tangy. It tasted like a lemon had been left to ferment inside a car battery. My mouth immediately started watering, but not in the good way--in the way it does right before your body decides it needs to remove something immediately. My nose hairs nearly fell out. My taste buds began filing formal complaints. I'm pretty sure the sauce stripped a layer of enamel off my teeth and erased several childhood memories. I tried taking another tiny bite because I thought there was no possible way it could be as bad as the first one. It was. Possibly worse. The flavor somehow became stronger after I stopped eating it, lingering in my mouth like an unwanted houseguest who had no intention of leaving. The meat itself may have been perfectly fine, but the sauce completely overpowered everything it touched. Once it was on there, there was no saving it. Not with the sides, not with water, and apparently not even with the pile of grapes I am currently stress-eating at my kitchen table. Stopped here for dinner after visiting the Fredrick Meijer Gardens, the place was packed but we got a table right away. The restaurant is a little dark for my taste I had a hard time reading the menu I'm 47, not ancient, but I had to use my flashlight on my phone lol. With that being said the staff and food was amazing. I had the steak gyro pizza and it was one of the best things I have ever eaten. So much going on with so much flavor it's new I guess but a definite winner. My husband had the Jalapeño Popper burger that he also thought was very good. His only complaint was the seeds in the blackberry jam that was on the burger. Overall a great experience and would most definitely return if we are in the Grand Rapids area again. read more

My friends and I recently rented out the private room here for a small get together and it was pretty nice! I believe there was a room fee and there was also a $250 spend minimum. We had 10+ people so it was definitely not a worry to hit that minimum. It was ready for us when we got there at 5 & we had the room booked for 5-7! We had 2 babies in our group too so it was nice to have the separate room where it was a bit quieter and didn't scare the kids at all. Everyone was having a hard time choosing what to eat because everything on the menu sounded so good. They have Pepsi products so I had a Pepsi and ordered the bbq brisket Mac and cheese. It was pretty good. The portion size was huge and it was more than enough for 2 meals so I definitely took half home. The leftovers weren't as good at home. The server was very nice. My friends and I went to trivia at Gravity recently and had a great time. They hosted trivia in the back part of the restaurant near the patio, which was a good space for the group. Monday is all day happy hour! I hadn't eaten at Gravity in a while so I was looking forward to trying some of their menu. We all shared one of the St. Patrick's Day features, the Irish egg rolls. These were tasty but I wished they were a bit cheesier. It was a good portion for the four of us to share as an appetizer. I had studied the menu extensively but I was so hungry it was hard to decide. I ended up ordering the steak frites and a side of Brussels sprouts. Nate got a side Caesar salad with chicken, and my friend got the smash burger with sweet potato fries. Our food was presented really nicely and everything looked great. I loved the Brussels sprouts - they were very similar to others I've had elsewhere and enjoyed. Not too mushy, with good flavor. The steak was a 12 oz. New York strip, which is not always my favorite cut. It needed some extra salt and it was slightly overcooked. The fries were crispy and the tater tots are big and chunky. I thought it was funny that this dish came with both, but I wasn't mad. Overall it was a good meal, but I would choose something else in the future. I saw someone at the table next to us order the salmon bowl and that looked very good. Our server was really great and kept up with the section well. We came here for the first time eight years ago because it is right next to our favorite hotel in town, the Country Inn. It is such a good idea, and so convenient to have a good restaurant in the same parking lot as a hotel. The first time we came here it was after a long day at the gardens, and we wanted a quality place to eat in Beer City where we did not need to drive. We got a couple beer flights, and they were really good. We got all sorts of food as well. This time, we came from the Christmas market. Although we ordered several items we did not eat enough for a meal. We went back to the hotel for a swim and the family needed a late night dinner, since we basically had lunch at the market. This was a perfect place we could get to easily. We got the hot honey chicken pizza. It was delicious. The chicken was crispy. The honey had a little zing, but not too much for those in the family who do not like a lot of spice. We carried out this time and ate at the hotel. This is a perfect place to eat or carryout. The young waiter was skilled beyond expectation, getting every order's special order with/without/whatever, never blinked at the request for separate checks, brought the meals out himself without asking who had what (a pet peeve of mine: "Who's the tuna? Oh, I'm the tuna. ‍‍) . I'm a service freak and his service was perfect. Managers stopped into the room twice to ask if everyone was pleased, a nice touch. I had the Pear Pressure: pear nectar, lime, simple syrup, ginger beer, lime wedge. It wasn't memorable, didn't taste the pear (vs just ginger beer), but much better than only having soda, tea, lemonade, or sod water as options. The Loaded Tots were a hit at the table and looked fabulous! Coming off of Thanksgiving, I enjoyed them vicariously through my friends. I loved the Buddha Bowl! The blackened shrimp was cooked well and not overdone (different protein options for an additional price). The bowl was large so I took most of it home and it was as delicious the next day. Came in for lunch on Sunday 10/27/24 around 2:30pm. It wasn't crowded, but the bar was full. We sat at a tall table behind the bar stools. Our server didn't provide her name and she wasn't wearing a name tag, but she was attentive and friendly! We decided to split the Smash Burger and the Taco Pizza. Our server asked if we wanted one of the entrees first - what a great question! We went with the burger first. The burger was on an onion roll which we both really liked. It was juicy and so tasty with the grilled onions! We both really liked it. The fries were HOT and had a crispy coating on them. That Taco Pizza though!! OMG, it was so dang good! We kept saying that over and over! It had a little kick of spiciness from the meat and the chorizo oiled crust. The combination of the light and crisp crust with the layer of refried beans and the spicy meat was absolute magic. Im going to be craving this one again for sure. It was the best taco pizza I've ever had - I liked that it didn't have lettuce on it. Mr says it's tied for first with a place that is no longer in business - so does it still count? The boys split the BBQ platter. The brisket is the not good. I tried it and honestly need to spit it out. I seriously don't understand how any restaurant could serve this. The sausage was excellent. Fries were good. For desert I tried the tiramisu. Not sure what they think tiramisu is but this wasn't it. The concept and service was great, but the food fell short. My family dined here for lunch on a November Friday. We each ordered tasters of local beer. I ordered two sours. One was excellent and one tasted like ketchup. The pub dip sandwich was decent, but the cheese whiz on it made the sandwich. The Mac and cheese was very plain. Wed. 11/26/25, the day before Thanksgiving. Our family group of 16 spent the Thanksgiving weekend at the Country Inn, across the parking lot from Gravity. GTG was the easy choice for our first dinner together. We were warmly greeted by the Gravity staff, then seated in a private dining room. The side room was ideal since we had 7 small children with us. The service was terrific, especially the managing of the children. Kids meals were on the table pronto. Everyone loved their dinners which included brisket, mac & cheese, tacos and many other selections. One son-in-law remarked that the meatloaf was the best he had ever had. Birria tacos were excellent and a large enough portion to split. The ambiance is very modern with low lighting and a large space that manages to stay relatively quiet for fitting so many people. The 3 stars is strictly from the mistakes on the check. We met friends for dinner and decided to go early to have a happy hour beer. We then drank Modello as it was $3 off on Tuesdays. The server brought checks and had to go back and correct them 3 times (before we even saw them he saw mistakes) by the end the first drinks were not at happy hour price and the Modellos and Tacos (both Tuesday specials) were charged at full price as well. It was pretty busy and the weather had turned so we just paid and wanted to beat the traffic out. Seems like the specials should automatically be in the POS system ?
