Where do I start? Oh yeah! The Smoked Old Fashion. See picture below. There's NO smoke. $14…read more Nothing was and the cherries were a Gelatinous expired hot mess. And to add insult to injury, our bartender forgot to add the bitters till after my sip. Pro move. Classic lack of mixology training. Now comes the best part of our evening. Should have listened to the kind old man at the previous stop to avoid this rebranded failed establishment. Our food has arrived tucked neatly in aluminum foil packets. I ordered ribs, kielbasa, Mac & cheese, and baked beans. My wife had brisket, Mac & cheese, and Brussel sprouts. Why did everything come in aluminum foil pouches. We were just told that everything just came off the smoker. Clearly it had NOT. Both of our meals were sooooooooooooooo SALTY that there was not enough water in the restaurant to get back the loss of moisture in our bodies. If I was a hunter, I would have used our meals to bait deer. Perfect little pouches of salt licks. Yes! We brought to the staff's attention. They were kind to take our meals off our bill and give us a gift card to use on our next visit. That was kind of them. But, the gift card has no use, because it has NO monetary value. It's just blank, nothing was loaded on it. The QR code just takes you to calling the restaurant. Classic marketing move. Back to our SALTY meals. They were so salty that I had to pull over to some random home and use their garden hose to get water. Burned my mouth from the hot hose water. I even feel bad for the late evening Trash Pandas. Maybe that's why we saw so many of them dead along the road. They died from dehydration from all of the salty scraps from the restaurant. I was so hopeful. We thought that after the rebrand from being Big Boiler Brewing and its failures they would have learned. Our advice, listen to your elders and NEVER go to the Hop Hog. Drive by. Keep going. Arby's is a little further down the road. They have the "MEATS".

Mac and cheese was decent. Pulled pork was great. Service was quick. The family meal had 6 corn bread muffins, 1.5lbs of pulled pork, 6 buns, fries, and mac and cheese. Their house made pickles were very tasty as well.

When I arrived early just to check in, they said our table was ready whenever we wanted, and they happily started serving us at 6:30. Some people were seated outside, with tent umbrellas to shield the rain, and there was an upstairs room with more of a brewhouse experience. I recommend the latter if you're visiting. The downstairs room felt sparse and too open. Things got a little funky after that. Everything requires ordering through Toast, which worked for most of us but not all. Toast is missing the personal touch of people asking for your order when you are getting table service and not ordering at the counter. The one lady serving us was generous to personally take the order for my one friend who didn't want to put his credit card online. Otherwise, your order is carted over by "teenagers" (the lady's exact quote) from the smokehouse across the street. When you place your order, it comes out as it's prepared. Your table may not all come out at once, especially if it's 7 people like ours. Drink and deal with it, I suppose. But the wait from first dish to last wasn't terribly long. I really enjoyed my sandwich. They did a great job with their smoked chicken - I'm glad I let their smokehouse influence me. It was on an excellent pretzel bun. Great beer. So other than people's rumblings about Toast, we had a good time overall and didn't let the weather rain on our parade.

I was surprised at how long it took for the 2 hosts to greet us - as we were standing directly in front of them. They were talking to one another, and it was probably work related, but to just stand there staring at them for a couple minutes while they ignored us was awkward. When they finally talked to us they weren't very friendly. Anyway, we made our way to the bar and it was full except for 3 seats. I think the bartender waiting on us was new. He seemed like he was pretty overwhelmed/in the weeds. He greeted us quickly and brought us waters when he did, which I appreciated. I ordered a Blackeberry Bourbon Sour and my Mr had Paloma Nuestra. We both enjoyed our drinks they were refreshing and well crafted. For dinner I had a really hard time deciding! I wanted to try so many things! Our bartender said his favorite thing in the menu is the chicken and rice bowl. That was something I was considering and decided to go with that. Excellent recommendation! The chicken was flavorful and so tender. The hot peppers were a nice touch. There was a lot of food too! I couldn't finish it all. Mr had the hanger steak that was served with mushroom and asparagus risotto. He said the risotto was the best he's ever had, and I agree. The asparagus was perfectly cooked and so was the steak. The space is really nice, felt intimate without being overcrowded. We are looking forward to coming back!

Last night we stopped for dinner and I was pretty impressed, it turned out to be one of the better dining experiences I've had in a long time! The atmosphere is a cool rustic/industrial feel common in a lot of breweries. They were playing some pretty mellow indie music, and while I generally don't take it into account, it really complimented the ambiance and took the whole experience to the next level. I had the blueberry flavored stout, which was really interesting, and my parents had whatever their standard beer most similar to domestic light beer. I forget the names but both were really good! The service is casual, just order next to the bar whenever you're ready and they bring it out to your table when it's ready. We each had a pizza, they only make one size, I believe a 10 inch, but for us it was just right! No left overs, but we were all satisfied. We tried the margherita, Hawaiian, and veggies pizzas. The sauce was savory, the crust was crisp, the cheese and toppings were generous and tasted very fresh. Overall, best pizza I've had in years and reasonably priced at about $8-10. I don't only recommend doing yourself the favor of stopping if you happen to be in the area, this place is worth making a special trip for, if you have a similar experience as I did you won't be disappointed!!
