I think they forgot the "b" in the name. Since we live in Ada, we were understandably excited to have another potentially good place open nearby. We visited not long after they went live in 2021. It was busy inside and the service was understandably slow. I got the "Homemade Chili", which was apparently made in a condemned home because it was barely room-temperature. I sent it back and had to press my case to get that bacterial culture of a dish taken off the bill. My "Garage Burger" had a bun that was so stale, it clanked when I hit it against my plate. My beleaguered waitress stared at me when I did this and asked, comically, "do you want a new bun?" Why yes, yes I do - preferably one that can't be sharpened into a prison shank, my dear. As the volume in the place progressively increased, I watched another family with younger kids struggle with similar food issues. The dad at that table looked at me knowingly with something akin to PTSD in his eyes and then he abruptly plunked down some cash and gathered his family up and walked out. I paid with a credit card, so it took me a bit longer, but we all left without finishing our meals. I'm not going to say that the food here is a crime against humanity, but I'm going to think it really hard. read more

Came in around 1 on a Saturday. It was extremely busy and they seemed a bit understaffed. Sat at the bar and had good service though. Drink specials were good (2 Busch light drafts and $4 wells). Earlier this month I was in town visiting family and my cousin had the Friday off, so I suggested to my cousin let's head to downtown Ada. Usually we always make a trip to downtown GR but wanted to switch things up and have lunch close to where she lives. She suggested Ada Garage Bar and when we sat at the bar we were greeted by the bartender Drew. He provided us a with food and drink menu and decided to give the drink menu a glance. Being from WI I like a good old fashioned but decided to go with the white cherry limeade and my cousin chose the Italian lemonade. The drinks were very refreshing especially with it being a muggy warm summer afternoon. My cousin decided to go with the turkey club and I went with the drunken mac. This came with bacon and was asked if I wanted to add chicken and turned down the offer but I appreciated that Drew asked in case if I was interested. We didn't have to wait long before we were presented with our food. I received a generous amount of mac and cheese, but sadly it was not what I expected. The temperature of the food was warm. It didn't have much seasoning, it was kind of bland and when my cousin tried a bite she agreed. I added a little salt which helped a little, but it's something I wouldn't order again. We saw someone order chicken tenders that looked really good. Although the mac and cheese was not really my cup of tea, this will not keep me from coming back because it was a chill place to hang out and I would like to give their strips a try. My husband and I like eating here on occasion. We live a bit north of town, but enjoy driving into Ada for food, drinks, and shopping. The times we've been to the Garage Bar and Grill have been nice. The service is ok. Our food and drinks have always come out as ordered, though sometimes the waitstaff is pretty disinterested. I appreciate the touches of the decor that fit the garage theme, without going overboard. Its fun, but no too kitschy. And I like how much natural light there is. Last time we were here I ordered the grilled Atlantic salmon with asparagus and jalapeno creamed corn. It was quite good! The Asian ginger glaze on the salmon was a nice add, though interesting as a combo with the jalapeno creamed corn. My husband ordered the Prime Philly sandwich. Also quite good, though don't expect to pick it up like a sandwich. They are generous with the filling. I'm sure we will continue to eat here. This was a cool funky place. Pretty crowded for a Tuesday. It's in a cute little town called Ada. Looks like they are building new storefronts and community areas for people to hang out. It's May 1 so not able to open up all the garage doors, which looks fun. TV's are every where and you can catch whatever you need. As for the food. It was pretty good. The table got some battered pickles which were totally great. Hand battered not from a bag. And for dinner I got the chicken fingers which are also hand battered. They were pretty good. Wish they were bigger. They were pretty skinny. They sit on a bed of seasoned fries. Which were good as well. Everyone else got a mix bag for dinner. A Nashville hot chicken which he did not like too much. The salmon which looked good. And has this cup of steaming corn that looked like weird cream corn but I was told was pretty good. Went to The Garage Bar in Ada, where they apparently keep the grill in the same place they keep the customer satisfaction--missing. We ordered burgers and were given the "option" of pink or not pink, which we assumed was a joke. It wasn't. We all ordered pink, which must be code for "grey like the skin of a Victorian orphan in winter." Every single burger came out the exact same shade of lifeless beige. Not a hint of pink, not a trace of flavor, and not a single grill mark--just sad, overcooked patties that looked and tasted like they were steamed under a heat lamp or tortured in a salamander until their will to live gave out. And the best part? When I asked our waitress what she usually orders, she paused for a solid beat--like she was either buffering or questioning her life choices--and then said, "Well... my mom gets the..." That's it. No follow-up. Just her mom's order. That's the level of enthusiasm this place inspires. Honestly, the Pabst Blue Ribbon was the highlight of the meal--which tells you everything you need to know. This place survives on location and booze. For folks who want to be seen sipping beer in Ada, Garage Bar's the place. Just do yourself a favor: eat somewhere else first, skip the $18 slap-in-the-face burgers, and put those dollars toward getting buzzed enough to forget you came here in the first place. Great experience, food, and service! I had low expectations going in. This place has been open for awhile and always seems busy (looking from the outside). I heard it was typical bar food so I it wasn't really on my list to check out. It was 4:00 on a Wednesday and we were in the area so we decided to give it a try. Sign said to seat yourself. There were a few tables open in the main area, and another room back around the corner. Seats at the bar and patio seating if the weather warms up. A server came by to greet us with menus. She was attentive to refill waters, let us in know when the food was coming out, and checked on us a few times. It was the perfect amount of attention- never needing to look for her when needed and didn't feel rushed or like we were just another table. The Paloma was fine to good. Not bad, not great. The Tajin (salt, lime, chili) and salt rim was a nice addition. The Brisket Sandwich was really good. Tender, and not too much BBQ sauce. The coleslaw on top had no flavor at all. Just good to add a crunchy texture. The pretzel bun was SOFT and toasted. Pleasant surprise bc pretzel buns tend to be dense. The fries seem homemade. A little greasy. Lots of burger choices. Did a Build Your Own Burger (BYOB) for my daughter. She ate the entire thing! Fantastic onion rings! Nice and crispy but not too oily or too battered. Came with a sriracha mayo type of sauce. I am a Chicken & Waffles connoisseur. I'm always wary when it's chicken tenders...I was pleasantly surprised! It was like a beer-batter and the chicken was hot and so tender/juicy! The maple waffles are sweet on their own so you don't really need syrup for them, but the waffle is a little dry on its own. I love that it's a hearty waffle. The size, texture, and flavor remind me of the waffles used at BIGGBY in their maple waffle breakfast sandwiches Bonus: The thick-cut bacon was delicious and a welcomed addition! Next time, I will say "no butter" as it comes as liquified butter (like you're eating a lobster). Perhaps that would have made the waffle less dry, but I would rather skip those calories! I could see this as a local bar that people frequent. I would prefer if people serving food didn't have their midriffs showing... Not on top of my list but I would bring the family back and try more things in the menu. Polish special! - Two sausages, one with pepper and onion, the other with kraut Hoagies were really good and fresh. Sausage was juicy and flavorful. Pepper and onions were sautéed perfectly. I've never had sautéed kraut before but it was really good. I feel like these needed a little something extra on them though, perhaps a sauce like Mudpenny was doing. The fries were pretty bland but the texture was ok. Everything smelled amazing though. And yes I ate this whole thing in my car while it rained lol. Sports bar atmosphere with typical bar food that's maybe slightly above average. The servers were friendly and quick to take care of us throughout our meal. The food arrived very quickly which is usually great but we only had our appetizer for a few minutes. This caused the table to get very crowded but not a huge deal. The nachos were delicious and massive. It was enough for us to all share which is exactly what we wanted. The Buffalo chicken wrap was very good as well and I asked for a side of ranch to balance the spice. I enjoyed the fries and thought they were crispy and seasoned very nicely. Our only real complaint was that a few things came out to us rather dirty. The roll of shop towels (their paper towels) looked like someone touched them with dirty hands, the small plates didn't look very clean, and our water glasses had something on them from the bar. Stopped in for a drink later on a Saturday evening with a colleague from out of town. Setting is great in the heart of budding downtown Ada. Neat concept of building around an existing house structure (bathrooms seem to be in the original foyer, the home's dining room can be seen from the bar). Met someone for a business meeting recently at the new Ada Garage Bar & Grill. What a neat place with great views out onto the sidewalks/streets. Placed right on a busy corner in "downtown" Ada, this former old brick business/house has turned into an interesting place to gather. After having lunch here, I'm wondering if Ada Garage Bar & Grill is more a place to meet friends for a drink in the evening than a meal. I need to come back and order some other items on the menu to complete that thought - and I will. My associate ordered the brisket sandwich which turned out to be pulled/maybe overcooked brisket. I guess the menu did not say Texas style smoked brisket. There wasn't a hint of smoke flavoring on this sandwich. Just a heads up if you're thinking of ordering this item. He gave the lunch a "it was good, not great." I ordered the Charleston salad with chicken and thought it was alright. The chicken didn't have noticeable seasoning or anything to grab my attention. The bacon bits were hard to find. Overall a bit underwhelming. I would grade it as a basic salad that you probably wouldn't recommend to a friend. Not bad - not exceptional. Service was professional and the venue seems legit. If you're sitting at the bar watching a game or placed at a table looking outside with friends and drinks, you'd probably rate this place a bit higher. Also, there is a little bit of outside seating when the weather turns warm. That'll be nice (I think). A bit close to the street? Looking forward to a return trip. read more

Much like the downtown GR location Ada Garage has a great menu, awesome staff and a chill vibe. Not quite a dive bar and def not a Gastro Pub, Garage Bar is a fun place to hang out, get solid bar food, and good drinks. Occasionally they have live music (which is a favorite of mine). Check their website or Facebook for that. Still the best chicken tenders and great burgers everything is fresh (no bagged food reheated). They close earlier than downtown. read more

We recently went to the Ada Garage Bar and Grill and it started off kind of awkward. First, the entrance had rugs that were soaked with snow/water. It was like walking through a slippery puddle. The weather lately has been crap, so I can't really blame them, but there's probably a better solution than just ignoring it. Then my wife and I checked in with the hostess and she walked us through the restaurant looking for a seat. There were no available seats, except for at the bar. We usually love a bar seat, but we thought we'd have a drink at the bar while we waited for a high top table for two. The hostess told me that I wasn't allowed to sit there and have a drink and also wait for a table. She said I either needed to take the bar seats or wait by the door for an open table. I've never had that happen before, so we just decided to eat at the bar. The atmosphere: The reviews I read before I came said the noise level was too loud. It was loud in there, but it was ok where we were sitting. As we walked around, I could definitely tell that some areas really had the speakers cranking! Need to tey and even that out. The seats are all metal bar stools that have a tiny seat. I eat out a lot, so the tiny metal seat isn't the most comfortable stool. The food & service: The food was really good. We started out with Chips and Queso and they tasted like we made them at home. I believe the chips are made in house and there was plenty of Queso! We then shared the Chicken and Waffles and the Garage Burger. Both tasted very fresh and you could tell they were all made in house. The Burger was cooked exactly like we ordered it. The fries were perfectly fried. Crispy, but not too Crispy and the right amount of salt. I would definitely order either of those meals again, but look forward to trying something else. The bar tender was on point. The bar was full and she was super busy, but we never felt it ignored. All in all, this is a place that I will probably come to on a regular basis when the weather turns to motorcycle weather. The positives far outweighed the negatives. Plus, it's a newer place and I'm sure they'll work some things out. Put out good food with good service and people will come! read more

I was so excited to find out there was a garage bar near me I go crazy for the nitro nachos they are my favorite. So I called to ask if I could place a take out order for an hour from then and they told me to call back when I did I was in the lot across the street and saw lots of people inside and outside eating drinking, the person on the phone told me the kitchen was closed today. I said I called earlier they said sorry. We can't wait to come back here. The outdoor patio has a great aesthetic (string lights and succulent plants) and they are super dog friendly. Our very sweet server even brought him a small plate of bacon! Lol. Water bowls all around. The cheese curds and French onion soup were great. Server recommended the old fashion on the drink menu, also great. And the live music (his name was Justin) was just fantastic. Lovely voice and funny guy. We had such an awesome time. We've been here 3 times, and we've never had a good experience. Tonight, our server forgot one of our drinks, could not answer questions about the food, and the food was brought out regardless of requested accommodations for example, no onions. When our concerns were brought up, the server only said "sorry" and quickly gave us our bill to turn our table over. Worse service, food is meh. Save your money, the experience isn't worth it.
