The menu here is extensive. The food is very good. Our wait staff was friendly. Go early if you want to chat. Once the place is full, it can get pretty loud.

This place always makes me smile. The servers are fun and real. The food is top notch. They switch things up so it's not the same menu all the time.

I've been here a few times and the food is always good. Tonight I tried the smoke pork chop. It's a big pork chop with lots of flavor and was very juicy. The apple chutney is ok. The sweet potatoes were good and it also came with asparagus. It's a nice portion for the price. It was one of the best pork chops I've had at a restaurant. I really like this place.

Amazing experience & incredible staff! Jen let us know the best stuff to get and everything was perfect! Bacon jam burger and the grilled cheese burger were so delicious, both fries and chips were great I can't decide which I liked more!

Grabbed a quick lunch at Mill Creek the other day, and was definitely impressed. They've got pub style favorites, but done with a bit of an upscale twist, and it was honestly a challenge to decide what to even order--there were so many tempting options. We started with the fried mushrooms, which were big and juicy, but the batter was also somehow still perfectly crispy. The dipping sauce was totally addictive. I got a bacon jam burger after much indecision, and it was pretty darn perfect. I upgraded to the fries, and they were golden and hot. My dining partner (who had the good sense to pick this spot) got the Ahi Tuna tacos, and despite the tastiness of the burger I still had some envy. They looked amazing, and she reported they were excellent. (Also, in case you're wondering, our server noted there has been some confusion on this point, the tuna is just seared, and otherwise not cooked through.) Mill Creek also has meal options for the kiddos too. This would be a great place to gather or check out a game, without having to settle on the food.

As shown in the attached receipt, I ordered breakfast as they are new to the breakfast business in the area. It's a bit pricy to me but here we go. Several places on the menu it mentions "hash". But what it should say is hash browns. I was expecting corned beef hash. I ordered my eggs over medium. They were cooked well past that. The menu and the receipt show 2 of each of the ham, sausage, and bacon. Bacon was way undercooked and lots of fat that could have been cooked more. I never received any sausage at all. Didn't see the waitress enough to mention it to her. Once I had my second cup of coffee, no more refills were offered. Place really wasn't busy either, while I was there. So at this point, I will say that I probably won't go back.

As my friends start moving away from downtown, I've found myself discovering new to me places in different parts of town, which is fun! I recently met a friend at Mill Creek Tavern for dinner on a weeknight. This spot is a warm and welcoming neighborhood tavern that is recently under new ownership. I wasn't sure where to park, because it didn't seem like there was a dedicated parking lot. I parked just down the block a bit in a parking lot that didn't have any signage and it seemed to be fine. The main bar area is open and bright. I was seated right away and I started browsing the menu. I was torn because I wanted a healthier option but also fries, because I love fries! The menu is mostly typical bar fare - lots of burgers, some sandwiches, a couple salads, and some dinner plates. My friend ordered the perch platter and a side salad, and I got the smoked chicken burrito which our server recommended. Our food came out pretty quickly and it looked great. The perch and fries looked amazing, but my friend said it wasn't the best she'd ever had. The side salad was a large portion and did come out before the entrees, which was nice for timing. The burrito was really big, which I expected. The toppings and ingredients inside the burrito all seemed fresh, but the accompanying tortilla chips were a bit stale. The burrito was tasty and I really liked the smoked chicken, which was pretty unique. However the amount of beans kind of threw off the ratio for me. I liked the flavor of the beans, but it was a bit much for me. I was only able to eat half at the time, but the leftovers were great. I just wished it had a bit more chicken. My friend and I ended up hanging out for a bit after dinner just catching up and chatting, and the servers were great on checking up on us and refilling our waters until we left. Overall this was a nice little neighborhood spot and I'd come back to try some other items - the burgers seem to be their specialty.

    Beer was good too.

Hidden gem. Glade I stopped here. Food was great. Staff was great. I'm from out of town. Chicago.

Great service and atmosphere! A small town pub fell and the owner was out with the customers.

They have a smaller dining space, so a reservation is recommended (you have to call, no online option) but when we arrived, they were ready and seated us promptly! We each got some sort of steak, potato and veggie combo and it was all VERY delicious! They offer you complementary homemade bread (this did take a bit of time, but they were warm when they came out) and we easily devoured it! I will say that it was a little slower than anticipated, but still very good. I would hope the bread would come out sooner than our appetizers. I ordered the caesar salad (very large) and included bleu cheese which was not listed on the menu. I would definitely list that on the menu unless it was an accident? We got bleu cheese on the bruschetta which listed another cheese, so again, I do think that they need to disclose this. I like it but most do not! I also ordered the $29 steak deal, which for the size and meal, I am very happy with! I ordered it medium rare and it was cooked properly. More rare than medium, which is how I like it! I think I'd like to come back and try it again, but for a good steak meal, it's approachable without feeling like it's TOO casual with peanuts on the ground. Parking is available across the street, but you do have to cross West River Drive, which can be a lot, but cars were patient while we made our way across. I'll definitely be back!

We had a reservation, which is highly recommended as it's not a huge space. You do have to call to make a reservation. The space is cozy and not super fancy, which made it comfortable for a long girls' dinner with lots of catching up. Some of us started with salads and an appetizer. They also gave us some complimentary rolls and butter. My Caesar salad was fresh and tasty, and a large portion for a side, but it had a lot of blue cheese crumbles, which wasn't listed on the menu. I personally love blue cheese, so I didn't mind, but it's a pretty polarizing ingredient so it surprised me a bit. The bruschetta was a really big portion and very delicious. I liked the amount of topping and the bread help up nicely. This dish also had blue cheese crumbles on it when we tried it. The steak menu is interesting and varied, and I like that all the cuts come with a potato and vegetable side, which isn't typical at fancier places. I went with the 10 oz barrel cut filet with mashed potatoes and asparagus, and I also ordered a side of the mac and cheese. Our main courses took a little bit of time to come out, but I was pleased with the meal. My medium rare filet was definitely more on the rare side, but I didn't mind. The mac and cheese was tasty but the sauce was a bit broken. It also had peas in it... not listed on the menu and also kind of weird. I liked it though! We were interested in the dessert options, but it sounded like they haven't really rounded that out yet as they just had a couple cupcakes. Our server was very kind and helpful and pretty attentive. I think the value is great and it's a less stuffy, more casual option than Chop House (plus more affordable). I will definitely be back!

Lofted above is a great looking outdoors complete with heat lamps and a mini A framed covered area that can be rented for parties. We were greeted warmly by friendly staff and given a kids menu, draft and spirits menu, regular menu and restaurant week menu. Menus galore! We went with the 3 course meal (many items can be ordered on the regular menu) for $25. I ordered the tomato paprika soup and my husband got the split pea soup. Of the two, the split pea soup was the clear winner. Two kinds of pork (cubed and shredded), well balanced seasoning and texture married well to enhance a soup I've loved since childhood. I could've easily eaten a bowl for my meal. The accompanying homemade Dutch Rye Bread, though I'm sure it's authentic, I didn't care for. It was dense, soft and had an off putting flavor. The second course we had was equally delicious. My hubby had the beef and pork sausage overtop a bed of mashed potatoes with kale, onions and bacon. I loved the addition of kale and the sausage was tasty. Everything was well seasoned. My beef slow cooked with apples and beer was delicious. I wish it had been served with more beef. It would have been nice to have some bigger chunks of meat to dive into. The mashed potatoes they came with were good, but the potatoes with kale were the star between the two dishes. The kid's meals were also good. The hamburger had a nice smokey flavor with a tasty side of fries. My daughter didn't care for her Mac 'n cheese, but that's because it was too refined for her palette. The Gouda cheese was complimented by the egg noodles. The third course was dessert. I tried the restaurant Flip custard: Dutch custard, fruit compote, and topped with a dollop of Greek Yogurt. It came with a cute spoon that gave the perfect portions and the flavors all complemented each other well. I would order this again and again. It was a great balance of tangy, fruity and sweet. My husband had the stroopwafle icecream. It was also good, and came with a cute mini stroopwafle. I washed all this down with their Bier Distillery Lager and tried a flavored banket spirit. This restaurant originally was just a beer and specialty liquor spot. I love that they now serve food, because that was the highlight of our evening. I wish this establishment was closer to our home, but perhaps will come back when the weather is nicer to enjoy the outdoor patio. Definitely come and check out this The Bier Distillery for yummy Dutch inspired food and drink! Worth the drive.
