Supposed to be Medium Rare. Worst Steak. Not worth the $70
Jennifer T.

I'm so sad to be writing this. What once was our go to restaurant for my birthday and our Anniversary is no more. First, we came here because they offer Whole Main Lobsters which a lot of places do not. Second, they also worked will with my Allium Allergy. Came for our Anniversary dinner. The Tuna Appetizer is longer could have because it is Pre- crusted. Obviously the Lobster was a no go. I ordered the Surf and Turf. The Lobster Tail was terrible, overcooked and dry. So was my Filet. The server who was great ask night asked how everything was. I told her to which she says "sorry" then walked away. My husband ordered the Tortellini. It was half the size of last year. I wanted to honestly cry I was so disappointed. We will not be back.

Can't go wrong here. Food is excellent as well as the service. Very nice restaurant with fine dining.

Halibut "Oscar" style

We haven't been to Leo's in a while and with an anniversary milestone approaching, we thought this would be the perfect place to go. Since we arrived a bit early for our reservation, we decided to have a few drinks and appetizers in the bar as it was "Happy Hour". We enjoyed a couple of glass of wine and some calamari. At our reservation time, we were seated in the dining room and began studying the menu. The halibut was served "Oscar" style and as we both love halibut, that is what we both ordered instead of each us ordering something different and splitting it. I thought the halibut was pretty good but did not care for the sauce. The crabmeat didn't have the taste or texture I'm accustomed to so the "wow" factor was out the window. Service was what you would expect-excellent. Everything was "decent" but at these price points, I probably wouldn't come back.

This was a wonderful dining experience in Grand Rapids! Reservations are highly recommended and easily made on their website. The restaurant was just a short walk from my hotel! I was seated in a lovely booth as soon as I arrived, and the service was extremely friendly and attentive. I love the little touches taking away used cutlery and replacing it with fresh cutlery and removing crumbs from the table before serving the next course. The interior is quite contemporary but a bit open particularly if you're seated at a table which does not afford much privacy. I enjoyed a lovely pear martini which was strong, tasty, ice cold, and beautifully presented. I had the seafood cakes duet (lobster and crab) as a starter at my server's recommendation. Great choice! Fresh, delicious, and tasty with a wonderful mix of flavors and textures. I followed this with a fairly standard but still tasty Caesar salad and some fairly simple bread from the complimentary basket. I was a bit adventurous and had the pretzel crusted walleye for an entree. I am not always a huge fish person, but this was quite mild. I loved the crunchy pretzel crust! Save room for dessert and check out the enticing dessert tray. I love when restaurants present desserts this way as I think it adds a touch of elegance. I tried the peanut butter pie which was decadently delicious with a wonderful mix of chocolate and peanut butter topped with a peanut butter cup. Overall, this was truly a lovely dining experience! I would definitely return should my travels take me back to Grand Rapids.

Leo's will always be one of my favorites. From the atmosphere to the food. Best lobster I've ever had on a surf & turf. Can't wait to come back!

Leo's happy hour is fire. I've had dinner here in the past, but tonight we came for serious snacking and drinking. We started with red wine and finished with the spritz, made with Aperol and Saint Germain (two of my favorites). Both were absolutely delicious and modestly priced at $8 each for happy hour. We tried the escargot dip and calamari, and honestly, they were unmatched. The calamari was perfectly flash-fried, the garlic lemon aioli omg! The escargot dip with puff pastry, veggies, and goat cheese was so rich and flavorful. The vibe was romantic and quiet, and the service was lovely as always. Even the bathroom was adorable and stocked with thoughtful extras like mouthwash and feminine products--we love a nice touch. Is this an every-week or even every-month spot for me? Probably not. But I've never had a bad time here, and it's always worth the visit.

An experience from the entrance. Large welcoming and luxurious feel as you walk in the doors. White table linen and clever design help to create tired eating spaces. We were greeted by our friends already seated and had a fantastic meal together. Food was lovely and it was a fabulous meal.

From the very start when walking into Leo's, until we left, our first time experience there was the best we have had! We've been to some incredible steak/seafood houses and this restaurant is top of the list! The appetizers, the bread, the entrees, the desserts!!! The prices are incredible considering the experience and delicious food! You get incredible portions that were so filling and they only serve fresh food! It's never frozen! It arrives to their facility within 24 hours of being pulled from the ocean/lake! I had the Chilean Sea Bass for the first time ever and it was absolutely incredible! My fiancé had the New York strip and says he would pick it over any other steakhouse! We highly recommend Leo's and will be making this a regular special spot to visit! Thank you "blonde" Brooke for your incredible service and hospitality!

Crab and shrimp risotto. This was soooo good! It melted in your mouth.

This is my second time dining at Leo's. It is my go to restaurant when in town. I've never had a bad meal or service when dining with them. The staff goes above and beyond, which is uncommon these days. I had the lobster bisque and the shrimp and crab risotto. Both were to die for! Ample lobster in the bisque and the risotto had plenty of shrimp and crab. You definitely get a fine dining experience for what you pay for. I will definitely be back next time in town.

Shrimp & Crab Risotto
Paul Yelp N.

Shrimp Crab Risotto and the Chargrilled Sea Scallops were both outstanding in flavor texture and everything else that goes with an elegant night at a 5-Star restaurant. Back again- different food 5 - stars all around! The Seafood Panroast was just as delicious!! Back again: no pictures since we couldn't help ourselves but to order the same dishes. It was an outstanding 31st anniversary!

Came here for a work dinner in June 2024. Walking in the restaurant is open and inviting. We were taken to our table right away. The restaurant wasn't too busy but it took a few minutes for our server to greet us. We ordered an assortment of appetizers, plus our entrées and then split desert. I ate so much I had to rolled out there. Appetizers were calamari, crab cakes, and mussels. I had the pretzel covered walleye which was excellent and was a huge piece of fish. (Being from MN and living in AZ, I was excited for the walleye) I would recommend this place to others.

Branzino

Came highly recommended from some locals. We went while in GR. The service was excellent. I had the Branzino which was solid. My girlfriend loved her sea bass as well! They were accommodating of my gluten free needs as well.

Leo's is one of my favorite downtown restaurants! It is on the pricier end so we don't get there often, but it's always a great experience when we do. The food is delicious. They are known for their seafood, but they also have a great steak! Staff are always friendly. They gave a nice, intimate atmosphere. Great spot to celebrate a special occasion!

Are reservations recommended for a Monday evening?

I always eat in the bar dining area without reservations but if there is an event downtown (concert, trade show, etc) I would call to make sure

Do they have parking?

I am not sure if they have their own private lot. e parked outside on street parking, There was a parking garage, I thought it was kinda price, so I looked until we found one.

For my entree I got the tofu sandwich with the most amazing side salad that had this lemon dressing that set it off right! I could have just had a plate of the salad!
