When I arrived, the store clerk told me the website was wrong and that it actually costs $60 to diagnose the system--making my trip a waste of time since I expected a free diagnostic. I paid it anyway, as the salesperson claimed it would go toward the repair, while also trying to upsell me on some all-in-one program for an additional fee. Three weeks later, I finally got a call saying they couldn't fix it and that I needed to pick up my system. That meant $60 down the drain, since they admitted they couldn't repair it. I asked if I could at least get a diagnostic report to show the next repair place, but they said they didn't have one. When I got my system back, it had nasty greasy fingerprints all over it, still broken, and as I was about to leave, the clerk again tried to sell me their all-in-one program. WTF! By the way, the website still says FREE estimate. This is a horrible, scammy operation. Avoid at all costs.

After 2 weeks not hearing from him I was about to call him when I received a text from him stating my unit was fixed and I could come by to pick it up. But he called me up to let me know and we worked out a time - he personally promised to set that time aside for me. As I now touch my screen to confirm, Device Surgeon got it done. They fought the mail, they put the customer first, and navigated a tricky situation successfully. Brought in my MAC, an old Dell laptop, and several DVDs that I wanted transferred to a thumb drive…read more I needed to install the new OS for my MAC and didn't have enough room, so brought my computer in for them to clean out old files and install the new OS. Instead, they charged me $150 to install a new hard drive with more memory and failed to install the new OS. When I ran the update at home, I was locked out of one of my profiles. When I brought the MAC back, the man said, "What did you do?" and acted like I did something wrong for installing the newest update. I told him he didn't do what I had asked him to do. He fixed it, after mansplaining to me, and then told me he should charge me but was going to give me a break. The DVDs were going to cost $300 to transfer to the thumb drive, so I said I'd wait. He had told me it would cost me $80 to try and get any data off of the Dell laptop. So I left the computer there and said I'd comeback for the hard drive. To be fair, this was in April. I went in today to try and get the hard drive, and at first, they said they didn't know what I was talking about, and then tried to insist they had given it to me (they didn't) and then finally just said, "Well, we don't have it". If you choose to go here, get EVERYTHING in writing!

The timeline given over the phone was about 1 hour. I stopped by in person later the same day and the fellow at the register honored the price he quoted and replaced the screen in about an hour as promised. So far the iPad looks and works fine, I will modify this review if I notice any issues like the screen de-laminating or problems with touch sensitivity later on. I would definitely recommend giving this repair shop a try for similar issues with Apple devices.
