We talked for awhile, got the problem diagnosed, the guy at the desk called the owner to confirm the part being ordered, great. Get to a week later, I call back about the part because I need it replaced. "Oh, $, we never got that ordered. I was mowing my lawn when he called me and..." Oh boy. Not good. Let's review: * Immediately refunded my deposit * Continued investigation and found they DID get it ordered * Did not demand a new deposit * Continued tracking the package, even though it seemed to be lost - well beyond the expected Tuesday-Wednesday timeframe. * It arrived while I was at work, really didn't have time to fix it. But he called me up to let me know and we worked out a time - he personally promised to set that time aside for me. I showed up, he confirmed it was the right screen, we went through some tests - it was glitchy - then he rebooted and it seems to have unglitched. As I now touch my screen to confirm, Device Surgeon got it done. They fought the mail, they put the customer first, and navigated a tricky situation successfully. Dropped my phone in the water while docking my boat and it ended up sitting underwater for probably 20 minutes before we finally got it back. Thought it survived at first but later on the phone completely died and I was pretty convinced all my photos and stuff were gone for good. Buyer beware! We had an iPhone 7 battery replaced at Device Surgeon and the battery is basically useless 3 months later. Battery initially indicated 99% "Health", but quickly degraded over the next two months to a health rating in the 60% range. Now, the phone barely lasts 1 hour during use. Well, maybe we got a bum battery. It happens. But when we brought the iPhone back to ask if they would swap out the obviously defective battery, we were turned away. Device Surgeon just said they don't provide any warranty and there was nothing they could do. Great; thanks for taking my $75. As a business, the least they could have done is swap in another battery. What could it have cost them? $6-7? We can only ascertain that they are using cheap/defective batteries, charging a premium for them, and looking the other way when confronted with any issues. First Time/Last Time customer. read more

It's still broken and their customer service was horrendous. The guy was rude and couldn't even tell me what model or generation of the iPad piece they supposedly ordered and fixed. Mind you we where waiting for the repair completion since we live fourty plus minutes away and was feeding the parking meter. Was told his boss had to bring him a battery that he said was what we needed and did not have in stock. Waited a while longer and called his boss, who said he was not working today and would call us back shortly. The technician called us back to say his boss was too busy to get it today and they could order it and have it tomorrow. We opted to get the phone back and came home. He was the first to answer and was available right away. My Samsung Note 5 needed a new battery. He told me the case may break as he tried to open it. He was done in about 15 minutes and as he told me, the front and back covers were broken. Even though he had worn me, I thought that it was just a possibility and not a given. It seems to me that a professional should be able to change the battery without breaking the covers since there are videos on YouTube that show you how. Perhaps I am wrong, but paying a good amount of money to get your phone battery working but having to sacrifice your phone covers doesn't seem right read more

The first time I went there years ago they got extremely condescending when I asked about the specs on their screen protectors. I went again today. I went in with a perfectly functioning camera that needed the protective glass replaced. I now have new protective glass and a useless camera as it can no longer focus! When I pointed it out the tech tried it verified it didn't work and told me I'd have to replace the whole camera module. I got charged full the $50 for the 10 minute repair and the (available for $10) online glass. Now I have to find another place to get the camera fixed and I'm sure that will cost a lot more. I've used them in the past and I like them. They're fast, knowledgeable and reasonable. The only caveat I would have for them is that they sometimes are closed during work hours due to the owner taking care of his children. I live in the same town so thats not a problem for me. I have had my screen replaced 2 times in a matter of 4 month span each time. the bottom of the screen started lifting and all he did was glue the screen and now I have 4 lines going across my screen instead of 2. I had been told by Apple and T-mobile that my phone was completely dead. My phone wasn't backed up and I had over 4,000 pictures/videos that I was devastated to lose. Alder was kind enough to use his computer to upload all of my photos/videos onto a thumb drive for me and charged me an extremely fair price for what he did.
