Visited March 21, 2025 for a $100 diagnostic on a phone. It seemed that the motherboard was fried. They had to bring the phone to the NYC location to see if any information could be recovered. Not an issue since I've actually used the NYC location before. The Morristown location was friendly and convenient. However, def thought there was a lack of communication. Called about 1 week later and they said they needed to get an update from the NYC office and get back to me. Days went by and nothing. Followed up again and same thing. A few weeks went by and had to be a bit of a nag at this point. Unfortunately, a lot more work and money would have to be invested where the results were not definitive. Got the phone back and it had to still be put together with glue. One would've thought they'd give the phone back looking more or less like it did when it got there. However, what really irked me is that the SIM card was missing. Pretty sure it was there the day it was brought in. read more

I had purchased a newer model Apple, did not like it and returned it to Apple. All of my apps were still on the older model, but some apps were now not working properly or at all. Arthur was very quick in responding to my question about an issue I had with my phone; the latest software update caused a battery issue for many users of that type of phone so I needed a replacement. When I came into the store, he explained that it would be very straightforward and the parts would come in the next day. (This was after I got the runaround talking to uBreakiFix a few days prior, and the reps seemed to have no idea when the battery I needed would be available, so I was amazed that the parts would be available so quickly.) The overall cost (parts + labor) was very reasonable. I still can't believe that the battery replacement only took a couple hours once the parts came in. Beware! Would NOT recommend - RIP OFFs for the unknowing! My sons gaming PC was dropped off here by a family member as I did not have time to troubleshoot his device (BIG MISTAKE). This PC was dropped off on the 29th of April to diagnose "IF" the motherboard was bad. My son had called them every few days to get an update on the status of what they found, needless to say it was the runaround of 'they aren't in or gone for the day'. I gave them until May 9th and I showed up to without a heads up for them to get a resolution as to WHY this is taking so long?!?! I've worked in IT 20+ years now, manage a multi million $$ infrastructure, hold all the certifications and more that they have up on their wall, so I have a very good idea HOW LONG "BASIC" troubleshooting should take!!! When I get there to reclaim my child's desktop I'm met with I need to come back tomorrow to speak to the manager, I DON'T THINK SO! After 20 plus minutes demanding my sons property be returned as he was saying everything to NOT return that to me, I had to basically threaten the guy to have Morristown PD come and ensure that I am able to take our property!! Then he's giving me some BS that your family member agreed to a $495.00 repair... UMM EXCUSE ME?? I could replace that motherboard for $350.00 online from another vendor?! So they would rather rip you off with a repair charge of $495.00 (that you won't even know what was actually done, if ANYTHING, IF you do not know what you are looking for) then replace your motherboard for less - FOUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!. So if you do not know any better YOU WILL BE RIPPED OFF! I had a repair of an old laptop hinge whose parts weren't available on the market. LaptopMD folks were really helpful on getting it fixed. I purchased a 1 TB gig SSD and 8 Rams of memory For 130 bucks and found someone to install it. They wanted 350 for a much smaller SSD and the memory plus their labor. Great service - I had spilled my aftershave on my 2019 15inch MacBook Pro Retina and Apple Genius offered you donut for 1700$ so basically a new MBP! Went to these guys - small shop and the owner came in look at it and promised to get it done within 10 days (late December 2019) there was some delay in getting a new screen but all good I called and was updated on the delay. Ready after a week and 600$ down but works as good as new and after 3 plus months including a couple of long international trips (before COVID lockdown) and my MBP is running fine screen resolution color all good. Good and fast service. They're straight forward. The price they give me is reasonable. I went to the LaptopMD in Morristown , NJ. I went their to upgrade the SSD on my late 2009 27 inch iMac which is more than 10 years old. So far my iMac works and it's faster now. The only downside of upgrading to SSD is that the iMac fan is blowing hard due to lack of thermo sensor however you can install an app to remedy the problem, no big deal. So far I'm happy ! No need to buy a new iMac. read more

I came here to have the laptop battery on my PC replaced, however it took over a month for them to receive the correct part and complete the job. There were extensive shipping delays taking almost 3 weeks and when they finally did get the battery they said the wrong one had been sent! They did reorder with overnight shipping. I just wish the communication had been better as I had to call them very frequently just to check the status and see what was going on. They did offer a significant discount for the delay which I appreciate. All of our other experiences with LaptopMD have been great but I was slightly disappointed with this one. read more

I brought an 8 month old ipad there for a screen repair. they basically destroyed the ipad. All the buttons are out of alignment and the frame is bent. I spoke to them about it and got BS in return. Their warranty is worthless. Now I have an 8 month old ipad that has a twisted frame, buttons are messed up and has developed two cracks from the frame being twisted. don't take your ipad their go somewhere else of try applie repair who i'm sure will fix it correctly. read more

Look. This isn't about quality. I think they did a fine job. But sadly, I did not have the optimal experience here. After a stupid mistake, I brought my laptop in on the promise of a same-day estimate. I came on a Monday afternoon. The estimator was on vacation, so they said they'd send me an estimate Tuesday. No problem. Tuesday came and went. I called. They said they'd for sure get to it Wednesday and would send me a text. Okay... Wednesday came and went. No text. I called. The guy checked on it and got me the estimate. Well... if you guys had the estimate, why was I not contacted? At this point, they already had the laptop, I had heard good things, so I said fine, go ahead. I should have known better. They ordered the part and said 3-4 days to ship. Had they actually looked at the laptop Tuesday, there's a chance the part would have beaten the storm. But now there was no chance. The part did not actually arrive until the following Thursday. I'll point out that I did not ONCE get a text - or call, since they noted I wasn't receiving texts - and all of the follow-up was on my own time. Part finally arrives Thursday. It might be ready that day. Nope. After all of the delays, you'd think they'd at least push me to the front of the line (which they told me they did, as far as I believe that). So it's Friday by the time I get my computer back. 11 days after I dropped it off, instead of roughly 5. The only text I ever did get from them was Friday morning indicating the laptop was done, which I already knew. But it at least confirmed their text system was working, so it's just that they never bothered to use it to contact me. The juiciest part? I get the laptop back with no power cord. Hey guys, how do I turn this thing on? I know the power cord was broken when I gave you the laptop, I expected you to fix the entire thing. That's why I gave you my broken laptop. I could have ordered a cord in the week prior if I knew, but they never told me I had to. They get one star back for a laptop that - at least so far - seems to be working fine, and for the kindness of giving me a new power cord (since, of course, I would have expected that to be in the initial estimate that I agreed to - and was never told it wouldn't be, since there was no communication on their end. So overall - I'm not going to badmouth them to other people. But I'm not going to go back there again. There is a chain of poor communication that needs to be addressed in order to keep existing clients and earn new ones. I work and interact with a lot of people who own a lot of electronics, and they lost the chance for me to put in a good word and perhaps attract more business. In the long run, over may people, that won't work. Hopefully they will be more consistent and thorough with communications in the future. read more
