Wednesday, 3/22/17 @ 10:50 AM: Running in to path to go in to World Trade Center to catch my 11am Criminal Procedure class as usual. Threw my water bottle upside down in my Herschel Backpack - If you own a Herschel, you know that there is a separate velvety, soft compartment to put your lap top in. As I was walking towards my law school, I felt wetness on the bottom of my backpack. At this point I am praying to God that water bottle did not spill in my lap top compartment. YOU GUESSED IT; IT DID. Of course, my MacBook Pro did not turn on the whole day; handwritten my notes for the rest of the day. Meltdown; heart palpitations. End of Classes, 3/22/17 @3:35 PM: I'm now at the Apple Store in World Trade Center. In the edge of tears. Long story short, they could not fix my computer and my best bet is to look for an independent company to recover my data. I may not be a doctor or a scientist looking for the cure to cancer. But, as a law school student who is about to graduate in May 2017, who is also a clerk at a firm in NJ and a judicial law clerk for a Judge in NY, my notes and work product = HOLY GRAIL Home, 3/33/17 @ 4:25 PM: Performed one google search after another to look for a company that I can trust to recover my data. After a plethora of results and semi-convincing people telling me that I have to ship my laptop to various places, i.e. St. Louis; California; etc., I knew that I needed to find a person who I can personally and physically see, speak to, and interact with. I am too paranoid and skeptical for my own good and was simply not comfortable to ship my MacBook to anyone. Found someone local. Spoke to previous clients for a reference and found that his turnaround time may not be as quick as I want it to be. Helpless and hopeless - NEED MY MACBOOK FIXED ASAP. @ 5:45 PM: Found Intrepid - Josh's company with amazing reviews. Called him. He texted back because he could not pick up. He was able to ask me relevant questions right off the bat and was able to give me a little bit of comfort, but not too much hope. He did not want to over promise and under deliver, I later found. I made an appointment with him for Thursday, 3/23/2017 at 6pm. Thursday 3:23 @ 6PM: YES HE IS MOBILE. YES HE COMES TO YOU. He arrived at my house right on time. He even offered to take his shoes off, which I really appreciate since we do not wear shoes in the house. He got right to work and was prepared. He was thorough, quick, smart, and very efficient. When he tells you that he will be done in an hour, that is literally the case. YES MY DATA WAS RECOVERED AND I AM NOW A NORMAL PERSON AGAIN!!! Thanks to Josh, I have all of my data and my hard drive is now safe and secure. For those of you who are wondering: my MacBook is no longer usable. But, that is NOT why I needed Josh. My MacBook was the least of my worries. I bought it in 2010 and should I not able to be used again, I did not mind. All I cared about was my data, which Josh DID save, recovered, and even gave me a little storing container and pouch to store my hard drive in. I now have ALL of my data recovered from my hard drive AND the proud owner of a pretty and shiny MacBook Pro with touchbar as an (early) graduation gift from my parents =) =) I am forever indebted to Josh and WILL call him whenever I need any technical support. JOSH is the MAN !! Listen I will tell anybody about Josh , he was honestly amazing. Super professional ! Which is always a plus. Unfortunately my area was not an area that he services but my job somewhat was. I was so grateful for him coming and helping me because my phone was in dire need. I went to apple on several occasions trying to secure an appointment with them but for some strange reason they are always booked. So I looked on yelp and found Joshua he's clearly a superhero I wouldn't think otherwise. He came to my job fixed my phone 4 hours later its still working so he obviously did a great job. My iPhone6 hit the concrete, and that didn't work out so well. I was traveling the next day, and needed a new screen right away. Found Josh's website after the Apple Store at Short Hills told me the next appointment was 5 days away. Josh came over to my house that night, and replaced the screen. Boom, done. Super professional, and ridiculously convenient. His prices are all listed on his website, and for being only $16 more than the Apple store, the fact that he was available at 8:30pm at night, immediately, was a very small price to pay. I found this guys number through Google. After calling a few "store fronts", this guy said he'd travel to me. Really? On a Sunday? Plus he had the best price. Yes, it's true. To be honest I was a bit leary about having a stranger come to my house to fix my phone. But I figured I'd give it a shot. Josh showed up exactly when he said he would. He also gavel me a courtesy call saying that he would be there in 20 minutes. He was clean cut, polite,honest,professional and was 100% American. Only issue was he is a Ranger fan.(sorry, Devil Fan here). I gave him two phones to repair 6 and 6s. I was also having an issue with the forward facing camera on the 6s. I texted Josh, shared my iPhone model info, and scheduled a time for him to perform the repair at my residence. For an extra $10-15 above what the apple store charges, Josh will come to your office or home and fix the phone as well as Apple does, but without any of the hassle of going to the Apple store. He sets appointments, comes exactly on time and provides status updates via text. Then he gets to work while you go about your business. Now I know what you're thinking: (1) who wants a stranger in your home/office and (2) how am I protected if something goes wrong with the repair. As for #1, Josh has come to my law firm office on two occassions and has comported himself professionally in his interactions with everyone he encountered. As for #2, Josh offers a two month warranty on his iphone repairs, which he honored in my case. I had a slight problem with the mic on my phone after he fixed the screen, and he came back 6 weeks after repairing the phone the first time and put a brand new screen on the phone, just as promised.
