This is the 2nd time, I have used this Pop and Mom, repair services other than bringing my electronic gadgets to big box stores. Had a 2 yr old Asus android smart phone that started having charging problems. Brought it to this store to try them out. It was the charging port that needed to be replaced. I risked the repair knowing I had all my personal info on the phone where I had no chance of logging out as the phone battery was dead and couldn't even boot. Meantime, had to use my 5yr old but still running ZTE android phone for several weeks before I decided to revive the Asus phone as it had a newer version of android 7.1.1 that allowed me to just use my fingerprint to log in to my dozens accounts. Got the phone back up and running and was charged reasonably well enough to elongate having to buy another phone. When I got the Asus phone back all of my sensitive accounts were logged out and never had trouble since March 2019 that sensitive information was compromised ever.
My second instance of being a happy customer is when my over 5yr old HP Pavilion laptop that I upgraded 2 months ago from Windows 7 home to Windows 10 all done on line presumably but without admitting that free upgrades are possible as long as one has the digital license in file with Microsoft. It took at least 2hrs and lots of restarts and downloads. Imagine the joy of seeing my old laptop running with faster bootup speed, built in camera and all the peripheral outlets, USB, card readers touch pad running again. Enjoyed the use of the laptop for the next 3 days until one fatal upgrade. The HP laptop had the dreaded Windows 10 " black screen of death." This flaw likewise had been happening to my Surface pro 3 but since it had touch screen with a different form factor, I could restart the tablet laptop without problems after learning from computer forums. But HP was entirely a different ball game. I tried, viewed You Tube videos, forums, MS help websites and regretted having upgraded to Windows 10 home using perhaps obsolete and electronics that have seen better days within the laptop that however, could still handle Windows 7. After all, this old laptop is used primarily just for web browsing. Had to mull over what killed the laptop and considered just charging it to a learning experience and donate it to a computer recycler. But then why not see a professional computer specialist like TymeTech where I had a previous experience for consultation.
The owner techie, and another tech diagnosed my problem why the HP laptop wouldn't do anything, not even booth to the setup screen. Alas, they found the culprit which was the built-in video card in the aging mother board. I was advised in the pros and cons and the $ to have the video chip replaced or, come out with an alternative that was to replace the entire mother board. After much thought, and my complete trust and their professional judgment and the economics of the labor cost, I chose to go for the mother board replacement using the same AMD microprocessor, video.
Once again, I was putting my trust on this computer shop as I still have confidential, and sensitive information that I couldn't log out from. The replacement parts, labor and diagnostics was only $ but the trust is this shop with ones sensitive and compromising info is $$$$$ priceless.
I got my HP laptop back up an running. They returned to me the old motherboard that definitely was the oem part installed at the factory. The computer was clean, will taken care of and just happy to have it back from a very reputable and trustworthy computer, smart phone repair shop.
Would recommend them to everyone who are reading this. This mom and pop shop doesn't play games and will always earn everyone's trust.
Forefront, to this trust is the fact that they do computerized invoicing and do itemize labor, parts trouble shooting and sales tax an indication that TymeTech is here for the long term. read more
