Brought in my MAC, an old Dell laptop, and several DVDs that I wanted transferred to a thumb drive. I needed to install the new OS for my MAC and didn't have enough room, so brought my computer in for them to clean out old files and install the new OS. Instead, they charged me $150 to install a new hard drive with more memory and failed to install the new OS. When I ran the update at home, I was locked out of one of my profiles. When I brought the MAC back, the man said, "What did you do?" and acted like I did something wrong for installing the newest update. I told him he didn't do what I had asked him to do. He fixed it, after mansplaining to me, and then told me he should charge me but was going to give me a break. The DVDs were going to cost $300 to transfer to the thumb drive, so I said I'd wait. He had told me it would cost me $80 to try and get any data off of the Dell laptop. So I left the computer there and said I'd comeback for the hard drive. To be fair, this was in April. I went in today to try and get the hard drive, and at first, they said they didn't know what I was talking about, and then tried to insist they had given it to me (they didn't) and then finally just said, "Well, we don't have it". Terrible place to take your phone. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PHONE HERE FOR REPAIRS. They tell you it was going to get fixed at a certain date and that date comes and its not fixed Waited 3 weeks for a repair just for them to tell me it could not be fixed and they had the nerve to ask me "why do you want this fixed anyway?". This is the second time i take a device here (first time was about 5 years ago and i decided to give them another chance 5 years later) and they were not able to fix it both times. (If you need a repair, go to iPulse in Hoboken, they will fix your phone in 30min, with no drama) I've actually had a couple of iPhones and an iPad screen repaired here years ago. But things are different now. I'm just gonna tell you what happened and you can draw your own conclusions: Day 1: drop off an iPhone 11 Pro Max for a cracked screen replacement. Told it would be ready the next day. Day 2: no call that it's ready, so we decide to wait. Not a big rush cause the phone is an extra. Day 3: get a phone call from this place demanding that I Venmo him money for the phone. (What business does this??) My husband told him we're not paying for a phone we haven't seen. We were not available to come pick up that day so he told him we will come by first thing Monday and pay him when we have the phone in hand. Day 5 (today): First thing in the morning, I go by to pickup the phone and I get a long schpiel about how it won't be ready til tomorrow. Uh what?? You just harassed me on Saturday. He said that they fixed the phone Friday (really? Then why didn't you call for us to pickup?) and Saturday morning he was saying we need to put down a deposit for the screen but since we didn't Venmo him a deposit, he took the screen OFF my phone and sold it to someone on Sunday night and that's why my phone wasn't ready today. I told him to give me the phone back. He rambled on about how he can't afford to buy screens for "whenever a customer decides to pick up the phone". ?!? He gives it back and they actually put a WORSE screen back on it. UPDATE: (in response to their reply) If you ran an honest business, maybe you would have enough funds to cover your business expenses. Why didn't you tell us on Day 1 when he dropped that phone that a deposit was needed? We were promised the phone would be ready the next day. Horrendous Customer Service. Simply put, the tech David, lives on his own idea of what a half hour is, failed to call multiple times, performed extra work without my authorization by installing a USED battery in my Mac, and then had the audacity to charge me for it. STAY AWAY Full Explanation Below: I brought my MacBook Pro in because it wasn't charging or turning on. I was greeted by David and he quickly diagnosed the problem as needing a new "thunderbolt" port. I asked how long it would take and I was assured that he would call me to confirm the diagnosis and assuming the issue was only the thunderbolt, my Mac would be ready for pick up by 6/7pm that same day. I received no call from David. Around 6:30pm I called the shop and was assured that the problem was the thunderbolt and that it would be ready for pick up in the morning. (Note: David completely disregarded the fact that he failed to call and inform me what was going on). Next Day: I called in the morning and was told that it would be ready in "a half hour". I arrived in store almost an hour later. Not only did David try to completely ignore me while in the store, but when I asked about the status of the repair he shouted "half hour!" and went back to helping other customers. Regardless of whether it was intentional or not, but I was made to feel like I was somehow inconveniencing him by using his services. I came back in the store 45 minutes later and David again told me "half hour". I explained that i needed the laptop for work and clearly couldn't rely on his idea of what a "half hour" is. I also explained that if you say you're going to call with a status, you need to call. His response was "why would I call you if nothing changed?" I explained that even if nothing changes, I still want to know. David then assured me he'd text me to keep me updated. David sent two videos showing my mac taken apart then again when it was fixed. David nonchalantly said "We needed to replace your battery as well. I had a fairly new one in stock so we replaced it." David then tacked on an additional $50 for the USED battery that I DID NOT AUTHORIZE. When I questioned him about installing a used battery, he indicated that he installed it because he knew I needed the laptop asap and that he had no new batteries in stock. He offered to put the old one back in. Given that David clearly doesn't follow what the customer requests, I told him to leave it as is because I didn't want to hear that it would take a "half hour" or find out that other repairs have been made without my authorization. When I came to pick up the laptop there was another customer there who was also having a similar issue related to the amount of time he was waiting for repairs. I told David that I clearly was not happy with the service and instead of having a discussion, David decided to involve the other customer by saying things like "get a load of this guy" then started telling the other customer that he sent me videos about the service. I suggested that I be charged the original price for the thunderbolt repair and that the USED battery that I never authorized be thrown in as a courtesy to make up complete lack of communication and installing a battery that I never requested. It was then that the conversation became a shouting match. To end it, I paid in full including the used battery charge but promised to leave this review. If you enjoy being completely left in the dark as to when your issue will be fixed or if you enjoy having extra services added without authorization, then this is your place. Call me crazy, but when I'm told that I'll be called, I expect a call. When someone says a half hour, I assume thirty minutes. If I pay for repairs on anything, I expect those repairs and ONLY those repairs to be made. I certainly do not expect unauthorized and unrequested added extras especially when those extras are for USED components. Message for David: If you dispute this review as fake, I will have no problem posting screenshots of our text message thread verifying the above. Your efforts would be better spent calling customers to inform them of status updates and giving a better estimate of time instead of a "half hour". read more

Dave is absolutely the best their is. Was able to fix a screen on my laptop in a hour. Where all the big tech stores was 2 day minimum. That is not an option at all. Without a doubt the only option for phones laptops gaming stations. I love supporting locals and he is the best. A Must!! Avoid the nonsense and go to Dave to get it done. read more

Poor service. Poor quality parts and work. Go elsewhere. iPhone screen replacement. I came in first thing in the morning and asked how long? "10-15 minutes". I checked back in 20. "Come back in 10". THREE HOURS later it was done. Why the hell did they keep me on the hook. Just tell me it will take 3 hours. The screen is clearly a cheap aftermarket part with plastic trimming. The metal of my iPhone is dented significantly and sharply in regular increments along the side from when they removed the screen. It works however. So there's that I guess. read more

Gave them my iPhone 11 Pro to fix the back, gave it back with the front screen completely shattered. I was told that there was a small crack on the bottom and the entire screen was destroyed in the process of taking it apart to fix the back. They should have at least mentioned that this was a possibility bc now I'm down over $200 and still left with a broken and now completely unusable phone. They didn't offer any sort of reconciliation, said it would be another $200 or so to fix the front. I would recommend you take your $$ elsewhere. Just saw his response to my review, this guy is delusional. Even if I were to completely disregard the fact they gave me back my phone in worse condition then I brought it in, the service was extremely sub par. I was told I would be given a tracking # for the parts, which was never sent. I had to follow up few times and then was told there would be no tracking #. I said no problem please call me when it comes in, he refused to do even that and asked me to keep calling every couple days to check if it is in. This is after they have already taken my money for the parts and repairs. My front screen was not destroyed when I brought it in, so now on top of everything he is now lying about what happened and calling me a liar. If you want to believe him that I'm making this all up and am not being genuine, thats completely up to you, but I think you will come to regret it as I have! This place is a scam. They sell cheap quality glass replacement. My phone is glitching, typing by itself and scrolling up and down until i turn it off and on and it begins again. The screen is coming off the phone because the glue is sucks because it is cheap quality. I asked him to "fix it" and they tried to charge me another $100 and it isn't even cracked it's just their cheap products they probably buy purposely. This place is what you call a shit show, i remember my lady went in and they asked for her password to change her screen 1 day as well. I know they usually fix it fast, but it doesnt last, they are trash. If you are looking for a place to have your screen fixed in less than 20 minutes, this is your spot. I've heard they have other location but I've only been to this one twice now. First to fix my screen for my 6s and today to fix my son's 5c. When I called they told me to change the screen for the 5c would be $50 but when I came in they said the inside was damage as well so that would be another $20.. total $70 to be fix.. it took about 15 minutes. If you check in on yelp you'll get $5 off but it isn't much since that covers the tax they charge you. My total was $74.55 with the yelp check in discount ended up paying $69.55.. it's still a lot but I guess that's the price you have to pay for being careless with your phone.. The establishment is small, has a few chairs to sit if you want to wait.. there is meter parking but it's in a busy area so your best bet is to double park or have someone wait while you run inside to drop & pick up your phone. read more

I came in to fix my phone earlier today, paid 160$, phone is fixed however the quality of this screen is absolutely terrible. I knew i was downgrading to an LCD but this is terrible the bezels are so thick it looks like they hollowed out my iphone and stuck an iphone 12 mini in there. This is probably the cheapest quality screen I've seen and I went to this place because i thought they had good reviews. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PHONE HERE. Shady company, they will take your money repeatedly. I took cracked screen here to get replaced. They replaced it for $90 and within 1 week my phone started not working properly. The screen wouldn't respond to my touches. I pressed too hard and apparently it damaged the LED screen. Then I brought it back to get replaced, due to the screen not working properly. I was told I would be charged full price since I damaged the LED screen by pressing too hard. I said this happened due to the screen not working. They said that's too bad, you still have to pay full price to replace it because it's my fault. read more

In July my PS3 stopped reading blu ray discs. In August it stopped reading discs period. I had read online about shipping my PS3 out to places and getting it fixed for $100 but never got around to doing it. Now, it's October and I've decided that I want to be able to use my PS3 once again....so, I looked into shipping it out again. I also looked into using a local repair shop. Brought my phone in, the ordered the replacement screen and told me they would call the day after when the get it. The day after at 4pm I call to check in and the guy said "of course is in, we got it this morning" I replied saying I was expecting a call from him "oh, sorry I forgot as I was picking up my son". I brought my iphone in last weekend and requested a screen replacement, a battery replacement, and a charging port replacement. After inspecting the port, the employee (David) told me that the port only needed cleaning not replacing - which they did for me for free. That really earned my trust. The screen and battery replacement (which were needed) were very reasonably priced. Even better, these repairs only took 1 hour and my phone was back in my hands. Spilled wine all over my year old MacBook Pro. It wouldn't turn on, but it would still charge. Was about to just buy a brand new one until I came across this place. Brought it in and left a down payment. The people at the front desk explained all the possibilities and the price of each piece of it had to be replaced. A day later, they called back and told me about how the wine fried my mother board where it just heats up then shuts off right away. Luckily that was the extent of the damage. A week later, I got a call to come pick it up and it's as if nothing even happened. Never thought it was possible to save a drunk MacBook. Brought in my iPad because it wouldn't charge, yet it was able to turn on as long as it was plugged. Received garbage instead... and over a month later at that. Never again, unprofessional and for the second time ever returns my stuff worse off. Never called to let me know he couldn't fix my iPad, or even to update me on anything instead I had to call only to find out they didn't know where it was. After I called he tells me to give them a day to put it back together... fine. The next day I arrive and he asks me if we wants them to put it back together or leave it like that.. uhh wasn't it supposed to be in one piece anyway? Now the iPad screen lights up but doesn't even bother to turn on. Miracle Workers!!!!! First off David is wonderful! I walked in and was like "I hear you guys are the Kong's at fixing phones" and he was like "we are" . My phone was done done. Overall, I was very disappointed with the quality of service and level of professionalism from YU Fix it. I recently came to their Jersey City location to replace my cracked iPhone X screen. After two attempts, they were able to replace the screen and told me that the work was covered under a 180 day warranty. The owner, David, told me they accept Venmo, Zelle, and cash. I handed him my phone and he entered his Venmo information, which I confirmed with him prior to submitting my $100 payment. After walking out, I noticed my new screen was not sitting flush on my phone, but trusting their workmanship, I let it slide. Later the same afternoon, David called me requesting payment. He stated he never received any money through Venmo. After looking into this issue, I noticed that HE had entered the incorrect account number and I had paid $100 to a wrong account. Fortunately after some work, I was able to get back the incorrectly sent money and complete the transaction. The following day, I placed my phone face-up on my coffee table (not dropped or smashed) and the screen developed a large 'X shaped' crack over it. I have placed my phone down thousands of times previously without the screen breaking. Clearly, this is representative of a poor installation and I should have trusted my initial thoughts when evaluating the work. I called the store to discuss warranty coverage, and was very rudely told by David repeatedly, 'Read your warranty, you broke the screen'. Their warranty is vague enough to suggest that although parts and labor on the repair are covered for 180 days, any damage to the screen is not covered. It seems as though there is 'a warranty' to feign some responsibility, anything that happens to the phone after you pick it up is on you, even if it is a product of poor installation. Despite explaining that the phone screen broke without any trauma, and appealing to his pride as a store proprietor, David told me that the best he could do was cut me a break on a $70 re-installation before eventually refusing to help at all. I am extremely pro-small and local businesses, but the way I was treated here made it feel like a big corporation trying to nickel and dime me. I highly recommend thoroughly looking for other options prior to using YU Fix it. read more

My phone was on a continuous loop. I tried restoring and nothing! Brought it to the guys at YUFixIt. They had to place a jumper on a chip to confuse the iOS 13 software which caused the continuous looping. Once jumper was completed, they backed up the phone and removed the jumper. Then they restored the back up onto iOS 13 successfully. Phone is working perfectly and I have all my data!!! I can't be happier thanks David and the knowledgeable staff at YUFixIt!!! read more
