I wish I could give All Star Movers negative stars! That's how bad their service was! Do you enjoy having your moving quote suddenly grow on the day of delivery? Do you like being overcharged for packing materials that are misrepresented? Do you like being charged "mandatory unpacking fees" that were not included in the original quote? Do you like having your calls and voice-mails ignored by the moving company when you are trying to figure out why you were overcharged? Do you enjoy people conveniently forgetting the relevant details when you finally get the moving company on the phone to discuss the charge overages? If the answer to the above questions is no then I suggest you forget about All-Star Movers and go find another company to move your belongings. read more

The guys at All Star Movers were on time, hard working and gave me a fair price. They even moved a piano to my neighbors down the street. Tom helped a lot by taking with him a few items I couldn't fit in my new house and Chris and Robert were exceptionally helpful. While moving is never fun, all the guys working that day made it pleasant and seamless. I would not hesitate to use them again. Thank you! read more

Pros: I called 5 days before my move date and they were able to fit me in, much appreciated! Fast estimate using math that made sense, no hidden fees. VERY quick, I thought I'd have more time to pack up the kitchen as they moved my stuff to the truck, but they were so quick I ended up having to come back to my old place (not the worst thing to ever happen, it was a local move). Actual payment was much less than estimate. Put furniture together correctly. Nothing broke. Wrapped everything appropriately. Cons: there was no communication between managers and movers; my movers did not know that the new apartment was a 4th floor walk up or that the manager had said my dresser could stay full. There was some griping about walking up 4 flights of stairs, but that's understandable. My mattress was put on my bed upside down, but it was a quick flip. All in all I was very pleased with All Star Movers! The speed and cost more than made up for the cons I mentioned. Will most likely be using them again when it's time to move out of this apartment :) read more

I'm never the type of guy that goes to the trouble to post to Yelp or other rating sites, but I was so pleased with All Star Movers today that I felt compelled to share my experience. The estimate was done in a timely and courteous manner. The employee walked me through the process and gave me a realistic estimate. On the day of the move, three movers showed up a few minutes early (always a big relief!) and had my entire condo packed and out the door in just over an hour. They had a system, worked well together and were quick without any damage whatsover. The move in to the new place was just as easy and the guys finished everything up well under the estimate time saving me $100 off the estimate. Nothing was damaged and the experience was painless. Will definitely use them again in the future! read more

I needed a few pieces of furniture moved from Maryland where they were refinished. The pieces were extremely heavy but they moved them into our new home without banging a wall or leaving a mark. Not only that, they did this on short notice when another mover fell through. Thank you All Star! read more

I used All Star recently for a local move. They did a good job moving my furniture. I have a few large pieces and my new residence has a lot of stairs, so I was worried about potential damage. All Star moved everything without a problem and I have not discovered any significant damage. Just a few negatives. One, the final bill was much higher than the quote. Two, they movers did not put my sofa together. I wound up putting it together myself, but it was difficult for one person to do. I don't know why they did not do this. The pieces of the sofa are not heavy. But the sections are bulky so it took me awhile to finish this alone. Three, they did not put my large tv on the tv stand. They just left it on the floor. Again, I don't understand why. I had to get someone to help me lift it onto the stand. They also did not reassemble another tv. I had to get someone to help me with this too. read more

We reached out to All Star Movers for a quick, local, move. They were able to fit us in on short notice, and completed the move much faster than we expected (which was great)! We were appreciative of their COVID-safe practices and the care they took with the items we needed moved. They'll definitely be our first call the next time we need movers. read more

I used All Star Movers and the guys were great but they by accident broke my black marble Hickory Furniture table. The owner said he would replace. I went to the marble place the owner recommended and the gentleman did not have black marble and asked if I would switch out for granite and I said no. Marble is a very different look. He sent me up and down the street to other marble places. None had black marble. I found it at a marble place in Springfield for $600 and the owner then decided to only pay half. I did all the legwork. Beware. read more

I've had a terrible experience with All Star this year. I've used them successfully in the past, but they've changed. I hired All Star to move my things out of a house and into 3 separate apartments for me and my kids, storing some items in All Star's warehouse while waiting for out of state trucking. First, All Star damaged three items in packing and in their temporary storage warehouse (tore two holes in an oil painting, broke a console table rendering it unusable, and irreparably stained an upholstered chair). Second, it took weeks of mostly unreturned calls and emails to get All Star to schedule a shipment of some of my items out of their warehouse to Chicago. Third, after waiting 4 months for All Star to schedule a truck for some of my things in their warehouse to Florida and given the other issues, I got so concerned that I gave up, rented a self-storage unit, and moved the items out myself to be shipped by someone else. The worst part is that All Star rarely returned calls or emails and changed their story several times after speaking with the owner. I incurred thousands of dollars of damage, lost a lot of precious free time chasing them, and in the end All Star offered to provide free shipping and storage on the small load to Chicago as recompense - a fraction of the harm caused. Anyone but All Star. read more

Do not use this company. When the crew arrived, we started out our joyous time together by having to listen to them complain about how tired they were all the way up the 4 flights of stairs saying they needed an elevator - I told them I had it reserved it was just locked on the upstairs floor. They weren't going to pad my furniture until I demanded it. One of the guys made me extremely uncomfortable. Ladies, you know that gut instinct that tells you to run the other direction? That's how I felt the entire move. It also didn't help that the same guy asked if I'd ever been to a local bar, and I said I had, then he told me, "I went there once but there were too many gays. I don't like gays." What the hell?! Nice, homophobe. Then my husband leaves the apartment to go to the new place and the moving guys leave, too. 20 minutes later I leave the apartment after gathering up some stuff to take over in my car, my husband is already at the new house, and the moving truck is still sitting outside the apartment building. I asked if they wanted to follow me over or if there was a problem and he told me he was putting the address in the GPS. For 20 minutes? I told him to just follow me and he said he had to stop to get a drink. I told him I had another case of water over at the new place and he said he needed cranberry juice. I told him I wasn't trying to be a jerk but I was paying by the hour, so to take the time off my bill. He said they'd leave right away. So I waited for the truck to leave and followed the truck and it went the OPPOSITE direction from the new place! Finally 2 miles later he pulled into a 7-11 after I called the main office and told the manager (who had a cr attitude) to have his guy turn around. Needless to say, the guys were mad when they got to the new place. Oh then I saw them drinking beers at the end of be move. I mean, do what you want to do at 11 am by all means, but not when I'm paying you to move my belongings So far in the unpacking, we haven't found anything broken. Still I would never ever use this company again. read more

This company sucks!!! I scheduled a move with them and had sent a check made a payment to the company and they later called me to cancel my move!! the reason why they did this is because they had a client that would pay them more money and ditched me! they really suck... the person "helping" me was tom... be careful dont use this company... they are also kind of sketchy!!!! read more

My husband and I recently moved from Falls Church, VA to Washington, DC and this was the third time we've used All Star Movers. The last time we used them was in 2009 and they remain an excellent moving company. The movers arrived on time, they were very polite and pleasant, and they worked really hard. We were not very well organized and there was still a lot to pack when the movers arrived. They did a great job packing and, as far as I can tell (we're still unpacking!), there was no breakage at all. The job turned out to be longer than predicted (due to our lack of organization) and there were stairs involved but the movers didn't complain, had a great work ethic, and got all our belongings to our new home. We were very pleased and recommend them without reservation. read more

This review is delayed for 2 years. We moved from VA to CA in Dec 2011 and All Star was our local mover for National Van Line. The process was smooth and every item was handled carefully. More importantly, I feel the crew wrapped and packed our household items just like for their own. That was the 1st time we used full service. We took for granted movers pay attention to details like All Star did. The truck driver was doing a fantastic job as well. In May 2014 we moved back from CA to VA. My husband's company used a different van line company and thus different local mover. They charged much more but lack all carefulness All Star did. Then we started to appreciate and to realize how lucky we were to have All Star back then. Therefore I highly recommend their service and will definitely consider to use them for our local move going forward. read more

FANTASTIC movers! I cannot stress how good their service was. They were on time, careful, efficient, and swift. Nothing was broken & they were great. We had a lot of steps & heavier items & didn't hear a single complaint. It was also pretty hot & very muggy. I will recommend All-Star at every opportunity. read more

They have very honest and accurate estimates unlike some other moving companies. I would definitely use them!

Found All Star on Yelp! Got a quote for a move to Central Virginia. Crew, unfortunately, showed up 30 minutes late. But the up side is they quoted 3 guys and All Star sent 4 to stay on schedule. Packing went very smoothly including a huge chest of drawers.. Trip to Central VA was without incident and the move in was seamless. Not a piece of furniture damaged; not a wall dinged at either.. Amazing.. The crew was friendly and one could tell they were very professional. These weren't part time guys hired on an as-needed basis. If there was one "downer" it was the guy I called to confirm the move and who I also called to ask why the team was late. He seemed a bit gruff on both occasions. Perhaps telephone skills aren't his thing. No matter as I'd recommend All Star highly and plan on using them on my next move.. read more

I'm a satisfied repeat customer. We've used All Star Movers' services for a couple of times. We received exceptional service on both occasions. From Billy, the estimator, their customer support people over the phone and to the guys who literally did the heavy lifting. They are professional and courteous. They showed up on time. No job is too big or too small. I highly recommend them. read more

We just used them to move from Ashburn to Leesburg. They were very professional and a pleasure to do business with. We packed ourselves and they did the rest. Nothing was broken. Billy, the estimator used to own the company so he knows his stuff as far as getting a good estimate. The movers showed up on time and worked hard with very little idle time. I would use them again. I have only used movers three times, but this was the best experience I've had. read more

All Star Movers was hired by our insurance company through a general contractor. So I can not comment on pricing. I can say that when our home had to be packed out to replace flooring they did a fantastic job doing the moving. They are efficient, pleasant, and professional. They packed anything we had not gotten to yet with their own boxes, stuffing paper, plastic wrap, and packaging tape. They show up in the expected start timeframe (2 hour window). They were even courteous enough to remove their shoes to put all our belongings back in our home with the new carpet being down already. I would hire them directly should I ever have another moving need and I will recommend them to friends. read more

We had a good experience with All Star Movers, who were recommended by a friend who had also just used them. Hard-working guys, any grumbling was good-natured (we had a lot to pack and weather was lousy), and they were fast. Nothing broken. In the end it was more expensive than we thought it would be (around $3000 for a short local move, but we also had them pack for us). We would use them again. read more

They did an outstanding job. They were late to arrive and so I was initially concerned they wouldn't finish in time but they packed and moved everything to our new apartment on time and Under their estimate. They did the unpack as well. Nothing broken or scratched and they were very professional. I definitely recommend and I would use them again. Overall, an excellent move and I've been moved professionally many times. read more

I have just made a major move from Northern Virginia to the Richmond area. All Star Movers were amazing. They are professional, consiencious and CAREFUL! Rocco my sales person called me non stop until he received my deposit and then I never heard from him again until after the move!! Movers showed up and quoted me 2 grand extra but told me if I gave them cash they would lower the quote. They were very intimidating and scary and I had to catch a flight so I finally gave in. They said they would see me in 3 days. 11 days later a different truck with different movers showed up at 7pm at night!!! Also very mean and told me if I said my Harley did not make it they could cut me a deal too!! I did not comply. They informed me our stuff went to a storage unit in NC and all our boxes were open with mice dropping all over it!! There was so much damage and missing items and they forged my initials on documents too. Moving is hard enough but this company made it 10 times worse!!! Contact me for more info if you want but do yourself a favor DONT USE THEM. read more

Got an estimate, the guy walked our entire townhouse and saw every room that needed to be packed, and we showed them a picture of the storage unit so there would be no surprises. We paid them to pack and move us. They sent two packers, one left after 8 hours, the other stayed 12 hours but they did not finish (I warned the owner in the morning of the pack that the packers didn't think they could finish in one day and to send more help--he didn't). Moving day: the move was slow, probably because they still had to pack some items. They started with 4 guys, ended up with 8 by the end, although I was paying guys to stand around since there is no way 8 guys can go in and out one doorway to move things. Final price came in 44% OVER THE ESTIMATE-$1600! After a complaint they gave us $600 back, so it ended up 25% over the estimate. What is the point in getting an estimate then?! There were no surprises from my end, the guys were just slow. Won't recommend or use again. Very disappointed. read more
