They are good, honest people. Got the job done and did it right. They were up front with the cost…read moreand also very reasonable. We hope not to have any more needs with our 50 year old septic tank but will definitely call them if we do.

I had them come out to pump my 1,000 gallon tank and was quoted 485 over the phone. The reason I…read morecalled them was because my bathroom had smelled a bit like sewer the last two days and then the morning I called them, the shower wasn't draining as quickly as it had. The last time we had the tank pump was 5 years ago so I figured that's what it needed. They have this bait and switch scam where they tell you it's going to be $485 to pump it but then they show up and they tell you there's an over full fee of $200 and if you happen to have any Kleenex or wipes in your septic system they charge you another $150 trash fee. So by the time you get your septic tank cleaned out it could cost you almost $1,000! They advertise $485 to get you in the door but then they jack up the price with extras. You're better off just to pay a competitor $600 and not get up charged at all. They will do everything for $600 and not add on charges. Ridiculous things. There are a lot of septic tank companies in the Atlanta and Douglasville area. Before hiring this company, please get a few estimates and don't fall for there their price. Gimmick to get them on your property. EDIT TO RESPOND TO OWNER'S COMMENT: Has there ever been a routine? $485 pumping? I can almost guarantee the answer to that question is no. You use the $485 to get people to let you come on to their property. Once you're on their property you have a $285 cancellation fee if they reject your up charges and high pricing. You've got this scam really well figured out and I hope future customers understand what you're doing. It's very obvious. In the future I will just go with the middle priced septic guy and if they try to up charge me with trash fees or digging fees or over full fees I will tell them no thank you and call the next person. I think it's very shady what you're doing with this bait and switch pricing tactic. The only reason you gave me a $50 discount is because I told you that I would have to get some more price quotes from other companies before I committed to the high price with the upcharges. Only then did you quickly offer me a $50 discount. I knew if I didn't accept the offer and turned him away, I would end up paying your $285 cancellation fee. So yeah you guys are cheesy as heck and it's really sad. You should be reported to the better Business bureau and probably criminally as well.

We hired Clean Works for maintenance on our septic system - we're sure glad we did. They discovered…read morea few issues that could have eventually resulted in major problems. They thoroughly explained what needed to be done, gave us a quote, and got right to work. Due to the location of the pipes and tank, the job required quite a bit of sawing and digging - work that I suspect not every septic service would do. Bobby and Triston worked hard all day. They were friendly and considerate of our property. They worked for two full days Recommendation was to replace the main water out flow pipe from the house to the septic tank. They stated the water flow was abnormally slow and eventually sewage/water would back up into our basement. To replace the main pipe they had to saw thru 5 t0 7" of patio concrete to access the pipe for replacement. They were 100% correct the pipe from the house and under the concrete slab was originally installed incorrectly and was a major issue. Billy and Tristin was totally considerate, polite and professional. Their quote for this complicated job was extremely fair. I 100% recommend them to resolve all septic or plumbing issues.

I didn't understand the structure of my system (next to a river) that required additional tanks. The techs (Bobby and Kristen) walked me through the process and suggested adding "risers" to the system to make future maintenance easier. This required digging with shovels due to the tank's placement. They found both caps quickly, performed the inspection, added the "risers ", replaced the removed dirt All as planned and on time.

Our technician was nice and more than knowledgable. He came out to quote a water heater replacement…read morefor us and the quoting process felt a little shady. First, he told me the pressure in the tank was sitting at 100 psi. I closed the inlets so the pressure wouldnt change, got myself a meter to validate and it was sitting at 70 psi. 100 psi is high with the water heater off, giving false numbers like that will sway people into making a rushed decision instead of researching other bids. After he took the pressure reading, he told me my inlet water pressure reducing valve failed. Said my inlet pressure coming in was 100 psi and so it needed to be swapped. Again i measured the inlet pressure to the house and it was 60 psi. He then quoted me the replacement pressure reducing valve. 1200$ is what he said for JUST THE PART. NOT THE LABOR, ONLY THE ONE VALVE. I knew that was crazy so i googled the exact same valve model, LF 25AUB Z3. Look it up yourself, its around 150$. I went to lowes after that and found that valve on the shelf (model number matched and everything), in fact the lowes rep told me i could use one next to it for 80$ instead since it matched the line size and specced right. That is a 1400% markup for a valve you can walk into the store and buy yourself, absolutely insane. In total i was quoted roughly 2700$ for the labor to hard pipe and change everything, i would be supplying the water heater. I found another company that said theyd do it for 1200$, exact same scope of work. I don't doubt the skills of their technicians, but their quoting and pricing system is extremely shady. Be careful if you choose to use them so you don't scam yourself.

I have to say I'm very disappointed. When I set up the appointment I asked the person on the phone…read moreif the coupon that they were offering online for septic cleaning was still valid and she said yes. When the plumbers arrived I was not home so they spoke with my husband and quoted him a price that was $300 dollars higher. After he told them what I told him the price would be one of the plumbers went and called the office and came back and told him the price that I originally said ($149). The other plumber that had stayed behind with my husband asks, "You mean $250"? At that point, my husband realized he was being fleeced and told him we would go with someone else if they weren't going to honor the price and they agreed on $149. During the process, they did no inspection but tried to say that we needed a new lid for $1,400. My husband declined that sale and they commenced pumping the tank. They had been called out because waste was backing up from the clean-out. They never inspected it or the line. The next day I checked the cleanout to be sure there was no backup and low and behold there was. I called them back and they said they could send someone out the next day (yesterday). Another plumber comes out and STILL doesn't look in the clean-out. He says, "We can't even get close enough to look in there". What!? You work on septic systems and can't step in sewage? So without an inspection, he quotes me two prices. One to do some type of jetting the line, and one to do some other procedure. I'm looking at $489 for that and $1,500 for jetting. I had the line jetted a few years ago by another company and it was less than $400. Fast forward to today. I had another company come out who I will be giving a glowing review when the job is finished that was like night and day. They put a camera in the line to find out exactly what the problem is. It turns out the line was warped and faulty and wasn't connecting the way it was supposed to. So the line is being replaced for not much more than The Original Plumber was going to charge me to jet the line that didn't even have a blockage as it turns out! And on top of that, they opened the lid and there is more solid waste in there than could have accumulated in three days since it was pumped. I would never utilize their services again. Edit: I have called 3 times to speak with a manager to try to give them the opportunity to make it right. Each time the person that answered the phone did not ask me my name, or why I was calling. They asked if the number I was calling from was a good number and said that a manager would call me back. Horrible business.

Unfortunately I hired Southern Septic LLC to repair my septic system. I was charged almost $6,000…read morefor a job that I now know was not the right solution to solve the problem. Six months later, the problem persists: the effluent continues to flow through the drainage field which is disgusting and unhygienic. Despite my repeated contact attempts, the only action they took was to pump the tank a few times, but they never solved the underlying problem. George (the person in charge) has not responded to my questions, has refused to provide a detailed scope of the work that is actually needed to pull the county permit and has ignored my reimbursement requests. The only thing they offered was to return $650 of the almost $6,000 paid. They have promised to fix the problem, but now, after all this time, they are suggesting replacing the entire drainage field. This gives the impression that the original repair was improvised and ineffective. This experience has been extremely frustrating and expensive. Communication for his part has been terrible: many excuses and almost no response to messages or calls. They have not assumed any responsibility and after six months, the problem remains unresolved. Now I have to hire another company, which means spending even more money to solve something that should have been done correctly from the beginning. If you want to avoid problems, I strongly recommend looking for septic services elsewhere. Save your money and choose a company that really supports your work. 1 star only because 0 is not an option. He was receptive to providing restitution to the fact that the initial inspection put me out over $1,000 dollars. I appreciated the fact that he was willing to reach out to make things right. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I used Banks Septic to inspect the septic system for a new home my family and I are purchasing. To their credit, I did call them the day of to inspect the system in order to get it in before due diligence ended. They fit me in the day of albeit "after hours" (an additional $200 charge) and $250 for the inspection. Their technician showed up after 5pm, and had the current home owner release permission for him to dig on the property. While digging up the septic tank, the technician severed a private water line in the backyard prompting him to turn off the main water line to THE ENTIRE HOUSE freaking out the current homeowner, my realtor, and the sellers realtor. How he didn't realize that a private water pipe with no water coming out of in the backyard had no impact on the main water line to the house that had already been marked by 811 is beyond me. Trying to manage the crisis from afar, I had to pay $650 to have an after hours plumber come and repair the pipe because the current homeowner was scared to turn the water back on based off his conversation with the technician. When I called Banks the next day to speak with someone, I was told and I quote, "we don't have x-ray vision to see private water lines underground, we aren't liable for anything our technician did" and "I'll have my manager, Roger, call you (he never did)." I understand that mistakes happen but this mistake by their tech cost me $650. I sure would like to speak with someone from their company to at least get reimbursed for the inspection and waive the after hours fee if they ever expect repeat business or a referral from me in the future.
