We had an emergency, and they were able to squeeze us in the same day. The pricing was more than fair given the guys had to dig out a baffle I didn't even know I had (main pipe from the house). He was receptive to providing restitution to the fact that the initial inspection put me out over $1,000 dollars. I appreciated the fact that he was willing to reach out to make things right. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I used Banks Septic to inspect the septic system for a new home my family and I are purchasing. To their credit, I did call them the day of to inspect the system in order to get it in before due diligence ended. They fit me in the day of albeit "after hours" (an additional $200 charge) and $250 for the inspection. Their technician showed up after 5pm, and had the current home owner release permission for him to dig on the property. While digging up the septic tank, the technician severed a private water line in the backyard prompting him to turn off the main water line to THE ENTIRE HOUSE freaking out the current homeowner, my realtor, and the sellers realtor. How he didn't realize that a private water pipe with no water coming out of in the backyard had no impact on the main water line to the house that had already been marked by 811 is beyond me. Trying to manage the crisis from afar, I had to pay $650 to have an after hours plumber come and repair the pipe because the current homeowner was scared to turn the water back on based off his conversation with the technician. When I called Banks the next day to speak with someone, I was told and I quote, "we don't have x-ray vision to see private water lines underground, we aren't liable for anything our technician did" and "I'll have my manager, Roger, call you (he never did)." I understand that mistakes happen but this mistake by their tech cost me $650. I sure would like to speak with someone from their company to at least get reimbursed for the inspection and waive the after hours fee if they ever expect repeat business or a referral from me in the future. read more

Banks septic is a very reliable company. We are no longer on septic, but my Dad's home was. After he passed away I realized I need a pump out and inspection in order to ensure a smooth closing when selling the home. I called them and they came out quickly and did not nickel and dime me with a bunch of extra charges. They seem to always be highly recommended in the community and I can certainly see why. I have not had to use their services in several years, but my co-worker recently had them out as they were having some issues with their septic and wanted to get it handled before it turned into a backing up situation. What I learned by working with Banks Septic is not to trust their opinions. When you're a hammer, you see everything as a nail. When you are a septic company and/or install drain fields, you are looking to drain septic tanks, and install drain fields. I foolishly trusted their opinion. I shouldn't have. I did not need my septic tank drained (wouldn't it be nice if there was some type of indicator on the tank? Will an Apple Tag do that :-)) When draining the tank failed to solve the problem, I was promptly told I needed a new drain field, which I did not. Not installing a drain field by Banks would have meant that I would not have had my back yard trashed - but trash it they did. The moral of the story: Before you hire Banks or any septic/drain field service - get an opinion from an expert, not the company that relies on your business for revenue. This is not a consulting company, they are a service company. Don't expect to get good advice from them. Trusting their advice cost me a minimum of $15,000 in unnecessary expenses. Live and learn. I recently had to contact a septic company due to some apparent backup or clogging in my septic system. I contacted another company that turned out to be outside my area but they quickly recommended Banks Septic to me. The entire team was great! From Christina in the office accomodating my need to have documentation to get remibussed by my home warranty to Brian and his crew that came to do the work. The cost was exactly what they said and not a cent more. They even recommended things to have done as soon as I'm able in terms of additioanl repairs that will help prevent the issue from reoccuring but assured me that it was not critical to have it done immediately so I did not feel at all pressured by a sales pitch. I found recommendations for this company on our local Flowery Branch community Facebook page. So I called them. I very rarely get this upset with a company but this one did enough to make me cry. I also don't cry easily. I put my info in their contact us section of their website. They never received it. No big deal. I called them and set up an appointment for the next day. I was told because of the size of the house it'll cost $750 to pump the tank. That's it. So, they came out to the house, started looking for the tank, couldn't find it, and told me because of where I'm located, they have to charge a service fee of $350 even though they didn't do anything! And they'd hang out for an hour since they have to charge me anyway. So, now I'm out $350, the septic issue is still not resolved and I'm sure I'll be paying a hell of a lot more when the job actually gets done. Never again will I use a company with so little integrity in my life and I'll tell anyone who ever needs septic services to stay the hell away from Banks. read more

I've used their service before and they've always been great, very friendly and helpful. Their prices are very fair and scheduling is easy and can be done online, where you can also request info. Also, they give a courtesy call before they come so that's appreciated. Today Austin Gravitt came out with his team and they had everything done very quickly and they cleaned up the site and left everything as they found it. I'm a first time customer with Banks Septic. With all the rain we've been having, we thought our septic system may have been full or flooded (we had a basement toilet not wanting to flush and the water in it kept rising). I called Banks Septic on Tuesday evening (after hours) and was pleasantly surprised that I was able to talk to a technician - Roger, who was very pleasant and informative. He placed a ticket for me in their system for a service call scheduled for Wednesday. He mentioned they've been receiving lots of calls and that they run 10 trucks and had about 40 customer calls. Wednesday afternoon (as promised) the crew showed up. Colt, Jose and Christopher arrived and quickly assessed our problem. They used shovels to dig up the tank lid, opened it up and found that we had a blockage in our septic pipe from grease buildup. Yikes! Apparently over the past few years we've had food go down our garbage disposal causing the grease buildup. The crew quickly unclogged the pipe, put the lid back on, then covered it up with dirt. Problem fixed! The guys were professional, hard working (even in the cold rain!), and trustworthy. They mentioned my tank was not full and I could probably wait 2-3 years before needing pumped. They sent an unskilled driver to our home who was unable to back up our driveway without running into the ditch, twice! He then just floored it putting long scars on our concrete driveway. When they finally got into position to pump my tank, instead of performing the service, tried to coerce my wife into to signing a liability release for all damages. When she refused they would not do the job! When I called and spoke to a Manager, he offered me half off and now will not call me back. We are looking at near $3000 damage, and the rude office staff tell me that he can't return my call because he is "out of town." In 2024 who does not have a cell phone? Once the tank was found, they quickly pumped it and neatly raked the soil back into place. DJ patiently explained the process to me, assessed the tank's condition, and assured me he would return if there were any issues. I asked for a riser pipe to be installed when having my tank pumped so that we wouldn't have to go through the process of digging it up every time. I mentioned this to the office when scheduling having the tank pumped. I was told that the riser pipe install would be a separate ticket. I said "fine... schedule me up" . When the tank was being pumped I mentioned the riser pipe install to the guys pumping the tank. They quoted me the price and told me it would happen in a few days and they would call me. 2 months later and no call, no pipe...... I ordered the transition plate, pipe sections and lid. They are backed up (weeks out appointments) and even then, they don't provide A time (to quote office manager "we never provide a time").. there is confusion on what the tech is going to Do..and no notification on costs or when/how to pay. Called Banks two weeks in advance to schedule appointment for septic system of newly purchased house to be pumped and inspected, was informed they'll schedule the utility line marking company. A week past without the line being marked, I again called Banks to inquire, response was "we haven't contacted them yet." Utility line marking company showed up next day. When Brian from Banks called 8:20 morning of appointment to inform he was going to be late because "I have to get gas." it should have been another tip off to the sorry experience that followed. When Brian finally knocked on my door, his assistant was already hard at work poking the surface to identify location of the tank's large cover. I received no greeting, perhaps English is his second language, as he continued to poke the ground, then began digging to access the cover without raking the mulch. Brian asked him if the cover was broken, he replied yes. After debating whether it was a 20" or 24" cover, they finally agreed it was a 20", and Brian declared "we don't have a 20." He then went to the truck and returned with a 20" cover which he disdainfully flung on the ground in my direction. I had to ask the cost for the cover, $125, including installation. Brian explained the tank was improperly installed because a riser was needed to bring the cover closer to the surface. When I asked if he had a riser, he replied no. When scheduling the appointment I told the office I needed to have the boundaries of the fields identified and received a vague answer as to cost. Brian informed it would cost $250, I then called Banks' office and they informed it would cost $175. Brian then asked if I had a garden hose so he could clean the tank's filter, i explained we moved in last week and couldn't immediately locate one, while my wife looked for one his assistant rinsed the filter in the tank effluent and reinstalled it. Brian's assistant then worked to locate the other cover to insert the suction hose. This cover was buried ~4' under the same soft dirt and mulch that covered the larger cover. Brian informed it would cost $125 to roll the mini backhoe off the trailer, but then gave a vague explanation it would leave tracks on the aforementioned mulch and soft dirt. When I told him I didn't wish for his machine to damage the slope, Brian then suggested his assistant could dig the 4' x 12" hole necessary to access the cover for $100/ft. Brian informed this cover was also broken, and also needed a riser, neither of which Brian carried on the truck. At this point, I asked Brian to install the large cover and finish the job without pumping the tank. Cost $475, plus the time to repair the damage caused by Brian traipsing up and down the soft slope at its steepest, after informing him I didn't wish to damage the slope with his backhoe. Brian could have walked 10' to avoid the damage he caused, but he didn't. Avoid Brian and Banks Septic at all costs. read more

Where do I start... I wish rating sites would give option to put "0" stars, or even negative stars. I would definitely put minus 5 to this company. Here is the whole story. I needed to relocate 1,500 gal septic at my home to another location. I've got few companies coming up to the job site, one of the companies was Banks Septic. At first Matt - Banks Septic company owner stroke me as a person who's been in the business for a long time and knows what he is doing. Oh boy was I surprised to learn HOW WRONG I was. I had various estimates with one that was few thousands less than what I got from Banks Septic, but again, thinking these guys are professionals, I figured, I will go with them to eliminate any hidden costs. This is where the story actually start. After I did a soil test, I provided it to Banks Septic and they started filing for permit with county. County inspector came on site and told me that everything looks good and Banks should start work next day, but then he asked do "you have garbage disposal in your house"? I was not sure what to answer at first, but figured I'd go with truth and tell him that yes, I have one garbage disposal. Right away, inspector told that the plans are wrong and instead of new 1,500 gal tank I need one 1,500 gal tank and one 1,000 gal tank. So now I need two septic tanks because I have one garbage disposal in my house (which we barely use). My price for new septic tank went from $13,000 to $15,300, right at that moment. I called Banks Septic and explained what happened with the county inspector and ask them WHY NOBODY FROM BANKS ASKED ME IF I HAVE garbage disposal? Why was that not discussed upfront? Now, my price for new septic is 2k more. Nevertheless, I agreed to the new price, since I had no other choice. That is however, not the end of it. Banks called me a day before new installation date (of two tanks now) and told me that now I also need to install additional leach lines, because inspector said that my soil test is not good. My price, right away went from 15K to 18K. WHAT??? Banks Septic had the soil report way before submitting for the permit. WHY NOBODY from BANKs ever looked at it and told me that I will need additional leach lines? At this point the price increase was nearly 40% from the original price, so I told Banks that I no longer want to do this job with them. Now they are trying to charge me for the cancelation. SERIOUSLY? You are professionals, you should have asked the right questions about garbage disposal and see the soil test before submitting it to the county for permit. All of this should have been discussed with me and proper estimate provided. I would never go for the 18K estimate for a septic tank relocation. Next day I got a call from Matt - Banks Septic company owner. As soon as I told him the situation and that I am displease with 40% estimate hike and proper questions were supposed to be asked by him or his engineers, HE STARTED CUSSING me with all possible F word verbs and adjectives. He even told me to "get the F.... out of this country F...ing foreigner, if you don't know anything". I must agree with the first portion of his rant, I don't know anything in septic world, that is why I hired his "professional" looking company, so I don't have a last minute surprises like price elevation by 40%! He did not care what I told him, but continued to scream all of the F words into the phone. So I hung up. I WOULD NEVER EVER, EVER RECOMEND BANKS SEPTIC TO ANYONE I KNOW. We have lived in our home for 32 years and in that time I have had multiple contacts with different septic tank companies. Banks is by far the absolute best experience we have had. Our drains stopped flowing over the memorial day weekend and I contacted our "regular" septic company, leaving a voice mail and using the contact form on their website. Come Tuesday morning, no call and I had to call in again and was told they were backed up 2 weeks. I was a repeat customer with them (3 previous pumps) and that carried no weight. The best thing they did for me was recommend Banks Septic! I called in and the very polite and helpful person scheduled an appointment for the next day. Case called me on Wednesday morning and gave an ETA and showed up fully equipped. Eric began locating the tank and perfectly located the lid. This task was very important to me as we have a brand new Zoysia sod lawn on top of the tank. They found the cause of the blockage and the tank was pumped out putting the house back in service. Case and Eric took could have easily just filled the hole and walked away but they took the time to make our new lawn look as close to the way they found it. We are very THANKFUL to both of them for their attention to detail. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience today. Well equipped, professional, polite and attentive to our problem, these guys set the bar very high for other companies to compete. I recommend you give these guys a call when the need arises. I had banks septic drain our tank. The tanker truck drove over our flower garden on entry and knocked over a large cement potter at the bottom of driveway. The truck left after dark. The next morning my driveway has a concave large crushed cement. I called the owner who accused me of trying to get a new driveway. I explained this was my first home with septic. I was not told the truck should stay on the street. The owner said I can sue if I want. He said he has been there before and won. Our driveway was 12,000.00 to repair.
