While waiting in the reception area, I overheard the owners speaking with another customer. They offered to assist the other customer when they didn't have to. I was verbally told that metal shavings were present inside the rear differential and that the entire differential assembly needed replacement. I was quoted approximately $3,600 for the repair. When I requested written clarification regarding how this diagnosis was made, including whether the differential was drained or opened, the condition of the fluid, whether photos were taken, and what specific testing procedures were used, no documentation was provided to support the claim. I then obtained a second opinion from another licensed mechanic. The vehicle was properly lifted, road tested, and inspected, and the rear differential was not identified as the source of the issue. The concern was resolved without replacing the differential. My mechanic also contacted this shop directly to ask about the basis for their diagnosis and did not receive any clear explanation. It is not possible to visually confirm internal metal shavings inside a sealed differential without draining the fluid or opening the case. No such procedure was documented on my repair order. Based on my experience, this did not feel like a transparent or customer focused shop. I strongly encourage customers to request written proof and seek a second opinion before authorizing major repairs.

However after going in these last two weekends they didn't put down a mat to protect my carpet I know my car doesn't look the beta or isnt the newest car but I think all cars deserve to be treated the same especially when paying for a service. They usually put a mat down to prevent oil getting on the floor , I'm not sure what's been going on this last week or so. Last weekend it was one oily print , I didn't say anything and I should've because know my driver side carpet looks insane. They're friendly, accommodating and communicate promptly. Scheduling an appointment is easy and hassle-free. It's a true joy dealing with them. This is undoubtedly a First Class operation. However, while this branch is fine for basic services like oil changes, tire rotations, and the like, I'm hesitant to recommend them for any complicated automotive repairs or diagnostics. I took my Jeep there for a persistent issue, and after four visits and significant expense, the problem remained unsolved. They have a tendency to throw parts at problems rather than accurately diagnose the source of an issue, despite charging high market diagnostic fees. One of my repairs was left unfinished and the vehicle had to be returned for the job to be completed. They comped me a free oil change and OEM gas cap after the mishap, but considering I'd spent nearly $4,000 in only a few months, it seemed appropriate. One more positive note. While it's not uncommon to be required to leave your vehicle for a week or more at some shops, AAA gets you in and out faster than any shop I've used in recent memory. When you're dealing with an Every Day Vehicle, alacrity is worth a great deal.

The problem I have is very common issue with jeep compasses: parasitic electrical draw (electronics not turning off when they should). I told sun devil employees that I'm bringing it to them because I'm tired of replacing batteries and want to get to the root of the issue, and they assured me they would fix it. Lo and behold, they call me and tell me the battery is the issue, it's not holding the charge. I told them the battery is like that due to the parasitic draw and if they just replace the battery it's just going to kill another battery. Their response was "well we warranty our work so just bring it back". So here I am, battery is dead again (5th battery btw) and I had to get my car towed to sun devil this morning. They have had my car for several hours now and I called to ask them if they are going to file a claim with my warranty company so that I can have a rental car in order to be able to go to work. Louie or however you spell his name had an attitude and treated me like I was unreasonable to ask if they're going to keep it overnight that they file a claim today so that I can have transportation, seems reasonable to me ESPECIALLY since it's coming back a mere few months later for the same exact issue! And ESPECIALLY since I tried to tell them replacing the battery will not fix the issue. He said something along the lines the lines of "well we haven't looked at it yet and things take time" seems to me like 6 hours is plenty of time to verify that the battery is dead. His response was to pick my car if I don't want them to look at it. I repeatedly asked him if he could at least give me an estimate of when they would be able to file the claim and he just kept saying he didn't know maybe tomorrow. Horrible service and ethics. These people do shoddy work, get people to buy parts and get you in and out, and claim if the customer has any issues they will fix it under warranty. What they don't tell you is they will put your warranty work on the back burner while they do all the customer pay work first because they want the money in hand now, versus spending time to fix their mistakes.
