Before taking your car here for repair, read this. Took my car here for transmission repair. Took almost 6 weeks to repair!! Car started acting up less than 2 days after getting it back. Then it stopped shifting, had to be towed. Good thing I had AAA. It had NO transmission fluid in it. They also refused to honor their warranty. read more

Honest, fair, and top-notch service! I couldn't tell you the name of anyone working there. We aren't friends or anything. But there isn't a shop I'd trust more than Adolph's to work on my old Jeep. I blew the trans a few years back and they were able to find a1994 replacement down in Yuma. Swapped it out and I just completed a two-year service all is great! I have another mechanic who I use for everything but transmissions. Honestly, Frank's could do my transmissions and I'm sure they'd do a great job. But I appreciate having someone that specializes in an area and having a general mechanic for everything else. Adolph's has always been priced where a little more would be too much but I can "just swing it at that price." And any less and I'd wonder what corners they were cutting or what wasn't getting addressed. So it feels fair, every interaction. A fair price and great service. Still pleased several years later! We came here off of the recommendation of my neighbor hoping to have our jeep repaired. We dropped it off and told them the transmission was leaving a large puddle of transmission fluid (red) on the floor. We were quoted a little over 1000$ to have the leak repaired and a transmission service done off of their recommendation. We got the vehicle home to find it was still leaking. We took it back in to the shop. Later that day we received a phone call saying they would like another 1500 to fix the leak or to just pay another 2500 and they could completely rebuild the transmission. I decided to climb under the jeep to inspect the work they had already done. I found that they used RTV as a pan gasket and charged us for a gasket that was never installed. We also noticed grease hand prints all over the exterior of the vehicle. We decided to just pick up the vehicle and go elsewhere. As we were leaving their mechanic Poncho came outside and confronted us and tried to give us the run around about the situation, this was very unprofessional and did nothing but upset us further. read more

I would not recommend this place to rebuild or work on a freaking Power Wheels. I recommended someone take there vehicle there for diagnosis they did said it needed a valve body so they replaced the valve body and that didn't work so then they said it need to be rebuilt it was "rebuilt" after about 5 weeks it still didn't work so then they said it was an electrical issue. If that was the case then they should have caught that the 1st time. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

Putting the cell phone down could end your marriage since she's in the middle of ripping your ass for breaking another house rule. (toilet seat, missing garbage day, whatever) And now, some idiotic big-hair band from the 80's is intruding on your lunch. You've got to switch stations stat, but how? You're already steering with both knees, you can't take your eyes off the road, and the smell of that flame-broiled Whopper is too much to bear as you take another bite. What do you do? You Helen Keller it - searching for the tuner knob to turn off the Whitesnake. Uh-oh. You just grabbed the wrong knob, switching your transmission into four-wheel drive low range, and at forty miles an hour no less. You've got some new decisions now. You can either go to Power Ford, who will want $3,800 to install a rebuilt transmission. Or... You can go to Adolph's, where you'll spend $2,300. I was first referred to Adoph's when we first moved to the valley 18 years ago. Adolph is extremely competent, BUT MOST IMPORTANT HE IS SCRUPULOUSLY HONEST!! I took my Jeep in because it had a transmission leak but also because of the check engine light came on. The check engine light was unrelated and minor. Adolph fixed the leark and did a routine service for an extremely reasonable charge, in less than 24 hours. read more

My Jeep had 288,000 miles on it when I brought it in the first time and they looked at the vehicle, made suggestions and even showed me how to adjust the Kickdown cable without any charge while other shops I had spoken with would not even look at it due to the milage. When I came back months later with another problem Adolph's had it out the next morning running better than it did when I bought it. Very Poor! I took my car to Adolfo's transmission. They did a diagnostic on my car in just under one hour. I received a call, the man said, "I have bad news, your whole transmissions has to be rebuilt, but the good news is I wont charge you more than $2,100.00." Ok look, I didn't have the money for that so I decided to get a second opinion....I took my car to Maxcore and they fixed the "issue" with my transmission for Only $112.00. the one part my transmission needed was $47.28 and I paid $65.00 for the labor to put in that one solenoid in. So I really feel like, WHAT A RIP OFF!!!!!! read more

When the tow truck driver was dragging my Monte Carlo with a locked transmission back to my house until I decided which crap shoot I would take it to for repair, I asked him if he could suggest an honest, reputable shop. He said he hadn't had any problems but that his company took it to Adolph's. MY ears popped up and I said do you mean the Adolph's on Glendale Avenue west of Grand? Yup. Well, I had heard good things about that place and that cinched my decision. I've been in Arizona for 31 years and they have me beat by at least ten or fifteen years. That Monte had 135,000 miles on it and 95% of that was inner-city miles. No sense going into all of the details of how trashed the tranny was after it locked and so I won't. Adolph called me the next day (he's in his 70's but one of their employees did the work) and gave me an estimate. He then called the next day and said there was other other work that would amount to more money if I wanted it done that had nothing to do with the transmission itself. (Rear main seal leak, oil pan gasket, motor mount, transmission mount, right axle) most of which I had already known and, of course, I told him to go ahead. When all was said and done, it came in higher than the original estimate plus the additional ancillary work and when I paid the bill they knocked off a little over $534.01. Surprised me because an estimate is just that and not a promise and I wasn't surprised by the bill in the first place. I can't say enough good things about Adolph, John and Theresa and they bent over backwards to accommodate me and get the car back on the road--and running great I should add. Friendly, honest people all of them. The only reason at all that I didn't give them five stars is because that would have meant that they had did all the work for nothing. But, I should at least boost it to 4.75 stars. read more

Had some issues with an older dodge transmission. Took it in here with no appointment. It was a easy fix for them and it was done fast and cheap. Another plus. The customer service here is great.
