Of the better gyros in a 10 minute drive radius...(cough...Freskos...cough) better quality better portion better price. Lemon chicken is unique and a definite winner. Delicious!! My boyfriend went here while on his lunch break, He told me it was the best and he loved it. I was very surprised because he's soo picky with food. We finally went together and I've been hooked ever since. The sauces they give you to put on your food are just so tasty! Lemon chicken with rice. - Very tasty. 8 out of 10 Chicken Biryani - also pretty good. 7 out of 10 Paneer Kati - enough flavor for the cheap price. 7 out of 10 Falafel - wife hated it. I tried it. I hated it too. It fell apart. Didn't like the flavor of either the dressing, the falafel or both. Threw it out. 1 out of 10. Never did try the gyro everyone raves about. I didn't see a rotating gyro spit. When i asked about the "strips" on the menu, the lady at the counter said they were frozen? I passed on that. Inside is plain, almost too plain for it to be anything more than a quick counter service place. Certainly not a date night or couples evening out place. It was super clean inside. I've been wanting to try something different and I saw how close this place was to my school, so I decided to give it a try. From the really good reviews, it seemed like the lemon chicken was a popular dish. Walking in, the restaurant seemed super clean and nice. I ordered the lemon chicken rice platter which comes with lemon chicken, rice, olives, tomatoes, lettuce, feta cheese, and this AMAZING garlic sauce (I'm not sure what it's called) on the side. The total came to $8.50, which is a great price for the amount of food that they give. The platter was one of the best things I've tasted in a while. The lemon chicken had great flavor and even the rice tasted super flavorful. I'm not too familiar with this type of cuisine, but I'm so glad I tried it. Only thing I would say is that their wasn't as much lettuce tomato and feta as I would like, so I'll just have to ask for extra next time. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! Excellent, excellent, excellent. Ordered delivery while stuck at home recovering from surgery. An amazing combination of Indian and middle eastern flavors and textures. Selected a variety of Kati rolls to meet the delivery minimum and fell in love with each (cauliflower, lamb, & paneer). The gyro platter was perfect as well. Perfectly grilled meat, Indian seasoned rice, and just the amount of sauce to compliment the crisp lettuce mix. I will have to say that I am giving this place 2 stars for a couple of reasons. My coworker and I order from here and drive 15 minutes one way to get our food. The last couple of times, the order has not been correct or they have forgot to give us everything we have ordered. Case in point, yesterday we ordered 3 meals and one was not in the bag. When I called to voice my dissatisfaction, the person who answered the phone asked if I had my receipt ( making me feel like she thought I was lying to her) and then asked if I was going to come pick up the meal. I was actually kind of shocked that she would ask a paying customer if they were going to come back to get a meal that they had paid for but did not receive. I don't think that we will be ordering from here again, which is sad because when they get the order correct it's really pretty good. read more

This was my first going to an Ali Baba in CT. I usually go to an Ali Baba In Ny. The food there is very tasty, and the service is top notch. I came in expecting the same however I soon learned that it wasn't quite what I hoped for. The Ali Baba in NY is much different than the one in CT, the one in NY has waiters and has more of a luxurious atmosphere, the one in CT doesn't have that but that isn't something I can really complain about. Now to what is most important the service, the cashier was polite, however the food wasn't so good. For starters the chicken under cooked practically raw, the rice ok but very little. As far as the salad is concerned i didn't really make an attempt to try it. The knuckleheads in the back cooking need to step up their game and start putting in some effort to make sure the food is up to standards. I personally own three restaurants which are very successful. If my cooks don't live up to the standards I have set, then why bother even being a chef. I hope the people running the restaurant as well as the staff improve and overcome their problems. read more

Lemon chicken platter at food cart was amazing and really affordable at $6

Food is usually really good, fresh, and flavorful but they recently had a deal where they offered 25% off for dine in customers. This deal is actually still in effect and is going on until 1/31/18. When we arrived last night to take advantage of this deal, the cashier seemed to know little about it even though it is posted all over their Facebook page at this very moment. I told the cashier we were dining in and wanted to take advantage of the deal and she replied, "Oh, I don't know, I think that's only on the weekends". I told her that it does not specify that on the Facebook post and pulled my phone out to show her and she just gave me a blank stare and didn't respond to that statement. I then told her I would take my order to go, because at that point, it didn't make a difference. Anyway, I sent the post of deal to Ali Baba's own page and told them what happened. They did not message me back, they saw my message, liked it, and kept it moving. So just to let everyone know, apparently this deal is only offered on the weekends, even though the post does not specify that it is only on the weekends. There might not even be any deal at all, because the clueless cashier didn't even seem to know about it nor did she ask any of her coworkers to see what I meant. At this point, their excellent food is overshadowed by their shoddy, apathetic customer service and lack of response to a customer complaint. I found it disrespectful that they "liked" my concern and kept it moving. That's why their other location couldn't stay open. Also, my partner had food poisoning and felt ill after eating a mixed platter. We will not be returning. read more

I won't ever return due to the customer service. The girl working at the counter was rude. I never even write reviews but feel the owner should know as someone who worked in the restaurant industry for many years. She "accidentally" charged me for something, not the point of how much. She sat there and argued with the smaller girl at the counter who told told her no you charged her twice and she tried to tell me and her coworker she didn't when it's clearly on the bill. Then proceeded to drop the f word over it..... give me an attitude and said just take it out of my tips. Didn't seem like a mistake at all and I tipped her to begin with, clearly doesn't deserve a tip and if she had a better attitude to begin with I would have tipped her more. She continued to speak in Spanish about it which I understood. The lamb Kati roll is divine. I bought 2 intending to take one for lunch so good I ate both. I got the chicken biryani so delicious. I cannot wait to go back and try more awesome food. We have been to Ali Baba's a few times now and have been satisfied each and every time. The kati rolls are definitely a great option, my favorite is probably the cauliflower, although I will say that they are a little greasy. The cous cous plate was just ok, not great, not bad. The Gyro is quite good. The prices are very reasonable and the service is quick and the staff friendly. I'd recommend a trip to Ali Baba's, but be aware that the location is not necessarily the best. read more
