Made a pit stop in New Haven to grab some quick dinner. Staff are so friendly, greet everyone who comes through the door with a lot of enthusiasm. Similar to Cava and Chipotle, where you get to pick your protein, then add toppings. Notable difference in portion between mine and my bf's container. Mine was heaping and almost difficult to close but my bf's was just over half full. Paid $15.75 for each. Roasted cauliflower was surprisingly good. Rest of it was very solid but nothing standout.
I ordered the Falafel Rice Bowl, and it was huge with plenty of choices. The gyro meat and sauces were very tasty, and it came with a crispy falafel and a seasoned potato. There were plenty of vibrant veggies and sauces to choose from. The place was clean, and we received good service. Street parking was full, so we had to park at the Temple Street garage.
Generous portions! I got a chicken shawarma wrap, and the seasoning on the chicken and cauliflower was yum. I completely loaded it with toppings so I ended up eating the wrap like a bowl, but thats just life -- and I prefer it that way! Normally I don't pay attention to service in fast casual restaurants like this, but the ladies at the counter were really sweet in an authentic way. I feel like I'd be friends with them. The wrap was toasted, although the ingredients weren't that warm so I do wish it was heated a bit more. Overall it's a great place to quickly drop by to grab a healthy filling meal!

You can add as many toppings as you'd like without extra cost! Super filling and still had enough leftover for another meal. There is lots of seating inside. Would love to drop by again.
Finally had an opportunity to visit Pitaziki since I was working from my office, nearby. I placed my order online and my order was ready upon arrival. My older specifically was; Chicken Shwarma Bowl Salad Bowl Lettuce Seasoned Onions Red Cabbage Fried Cauliflower Roasted Eggplant Baba Ganoush White Sauce I decided to eat in because I was fairly hungry and in had a bit of a drive home. The restaurant itself has tons of seating which I observe many people who come here on their lunch break take advantage of. There is outdoor seating as well which is shown in one of my photos. The restaurant is also very clean with beautiful lit up quotes hanging around along with aesthetically pleasing wall paper. Overall, my food was phenomenal, I had questions about the baba ganoush I added into my salad and the employee was more than happy to answer my questions. I didn't get a chance to speak to the owner but he seemed very hands on and supportive of all his employees. I definitely recommend pitaziki and will be returning.
This place was so delicious! I had a gift card and wanted to use it, it's a bit of a drive but I was not disappointed! I tried the chicken shawarma pita so good and flavorful, it's a choose your own toppings type place like chipolte but make it Mediterranean. My husband got the gyro wrap which was equally good and flavorful. They had alot of options , lamb meatballs, gyro, chicken, falafel etc. All which was halal except the lamb. They had a variety of sauces as well. A very nice and clean spot too..I would come back!
I was craving mediterranean food and decided to give this place a try. You can choose between rice bowl, salad bowl, pita, or a wrap. I got the rice bowl with gyro and veggies ($12.95). Quick service and lots of unlimited toppings. I wasn't expecting much but to my surprise it was pretty good! Street parking! Definitely will be back for a quick cheap meal.
My sister and I love Mediterranean food with a passion. We saw a post about Pitaziki on IG that immediately made us want to try it. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was quiet when we went. Is super easy to order and I love that you can customize it at your liking. I had a falafel pita. It was super filling and delicious. We dined in but I definitely see me ordering to go in the future. If you check in using the yelp app you get a free fountain drink ( can drink)
When in New Haven CT, you have to try this spot. They make the best Shawarma in town. The toppings are perfectly chopped to fit into a pita. The garlic sauce is a must have, the hot sauce is more flavorful than the super hot I've become to expect. Need I mention the steak fries. Love the way they season these with curry. The staff here are patient with you as you decide and the interior is super clean. I look forward to eating here every time I visit. No food pic because it gets devoured too quickly.

Pitaziki is a Mediterranean fast-casual restaurant that opened in New Haven, Connecticut in June 2014. It was founded by Egyptian immigrant Gasser Badawi and his father Kaled. The Badawi Family came to New Haven from Egypt in 2004. They came up with the idea for Pitaziki when they sought to make a fast-casual restaurant similar to Chipotle, but with a Mediterranean menu instead of a Mexican one. Although this is the family's first restaurant, they are no strangers to the culinary world. Gasser's uncle and cousins have a similar Mediterranean restaurant in Canada, and Kaled was trained at a culinary school in London. Some of the menu items at Pitaziki include Chicken Shawarma, Gyro, Lamb Kofta, Falafel, Hummus, Baba Ganoush, Tabbouleh, and Seasoned Fries. My wife and I recently visited Pitaziki for lunch when we both had had off from work. The line is set up so that a customer chooses the base (pita, wrap, salad bowl or rice bowl), then chooses a filling (falafel, chicken kabob, chicken shawarma, lamb kofta, gyro or grilled veggies), and then chooses toppings (feta, hummus, baba ganoush, tabbouleh, pickles, roasted eggplant, etc). We both ended up picking one of their specials: the "Shwafel". This dish is a combination of chicken shawarma and falafel that is topped with creamy garlic sauce, hummus, pickles, lettuce and tahini sauce and served in a choice of pita, wrap or salad bowl. My wife and I always have a hard time choosing between shawarma and falafel at a Mediterranean restaurant, so a Shwafel sounded amazing! We ordered one in a wrap and one in a pita and shared them. These were both excellent: so flavorful and delicious! The next time we're looking for a quick fix of Mediterranean food, we'll definitely be stopping at Pitaziki!

That's exactly what @pitaziki has done in this Shwafel Pita: A combination of falafel and shawarma with creamy garlic, hummus, pickles, mixed greens and tahini sauce. I added the secret recipe homemade shata sauce to bring the flavorful heat to my pita! This was an incredible meal and experience! The smiling faces from the owner and his staff, the fresh ingredients, and passion behind the food! I can't wait to go back and learn more about the shata sauce!

Ordered takeout on a Wednesday evening. Online ordering was easy and on time. Picking up was a little difficult because there isn't a good place to pull over and go inside to pick up the food. I ordered the rice bowl with chicken shawarma, hummus, seasoned onions, fried cauliflower, and creamy garlic with tzatziki and white sauce. The meal came with a lot of protein which was nice. I wish the sides were a little bigger and that you could choose more than 4. But got lots of meals out of this and flavors were good! Prices seemed fair for the size. Overall just hard pick up but food was good. read more

This place was so delicious! I had a gift card and wanted to use it, it's a bit of a drive but I was not disappointed! I tried the chicken shawarma pita so good and flavorful, it's a choose your own toppings type place like chipolte but make it Mediterranean. My husband got the gyro wrap which was equally good and flavorful. They had alot of options , lamb meatballs, gyro, chicken, falafel etc. All which was halal except the lamb. One of my new favorite spots for Mediterranean food! I love the fast-casual set up, and how you can customize pretty much anything to your liking. The Pitaziki meat combo was honestly unreal! Such a great value for the generous portion size, and everything in it was so fresh and flavorful. I would 100% order that again on my next visit. We had a chicken kebab pita, and the pita itself was so soft. Their hummus is amazing, and I enjoyed watching the falafel be prepared right in front of me! All of their food is prepared daily in small batches, you really can't get any fresher than this place. A great New Haven gem! read more
Quick, affordable, delicious! I've been to pitaziki several times and couldn't believe I've never left a review. Everytime I come here I leave happy and satisfied. The food is fresh, delicious, and quality. The chicken is tender and flavorful, the falafel us crispy and fluffy, and the portions are generous! I ordered a shwafel bowl today and it's going to generously feed me for at least 2 lunches, maybe 3. If you like Mediterranean food I highly recommend this place. They are clean, tasty, and reliable. If someone steals your sandwich when you're not looking, it's Pitasneaky. If your Pita makes your mouth smell of garlic for the rest of the night, it's Pitareeky. If you figure out the density of your pita using Physics formulas, it's Pitageeky. And if you're getting it the back way while you eat it, it's Pitagreeky. I didn't love this popular Mediterranean Pita place which is a "Haven" for the Yale kids of New Haven and other locals, featuring a younger crowd, mainly from the colleges, but I liked it, and that's saying a lot since I'm picky as a b**ch. So I didn't have high hopes (unlike Panic!), but I was in need of some food and it was late at night, so Pitaziki came in handy. It has nothing on some of the better locations of Mamouns (especially Hoboken), but the one here is substandard and Pitaziki is actually better than it. So while it's not upper echelon NYC-standard or Toronto-standard Middle Eastern food, in Connecticut terms it's actually not bad, and I appreciate that, as well as the fact that they were willing to make me food late at night in a city that doesn't really have a big selection of late night offerings. So for these factors it definitely earns 4 stars and I'm sure I'll be coming here again in the future too. Now I have to change clothes, and the bathroom is busy. So I'm going to do it right here, please don't Pitapeeky. read more

Have gone to the food cart on Cedar Street not the restaurant. Food is outstanding. Fresh chicken, super fresh veggies and toppings. Friendly service and affordable pricing. It's a staple in the lunch rotation. Try the pita, then try a bowl and decide what you like better. I dig the pita. Great stuff. read more

I love this place. While Mamouns' falafel balls are better- Pitaziki wins overall due to the great unlimited toppings. A platter is enough for 2 meals and their wraps are also really great. read more
I ordered a gyro, Greek salad, baklava and a sparkling water. Wow this place has great flavors - all baklava is good but this was outstanding. I liked that you had choices in toppings and sauces and the garlic sauce in the gyro along with hummus, tziki and an onion mixture were outstanding. Highly recommend this place. I agree with others Yelp assessments in this one should be 4-5 stars. read more

Food is excellent, and quantity is good too. Meat lovers combo was my favorite here. I also added a falafal to it. Shawafal plate was good as well. Their unlimited toppings was a nice addition. Creamy garlic is a topping never to miss. read more

Ordered chicken schwarma and a Nutella dessert pita through Uber eats, took over an hour for delivery (which I know is on Uber and not the restaurant) but I wasn't impressed and I wanted to be, maybe it was the flavor profile I choose but mushy and later on my stomach was upset. I'd have to really be tempted to even try them again. read more
