When we wanted to go wireless on our security system, we contacted our existing company to get a quote. Even though it was higher than expected ($500 install and $60/mo for a 3 yr contract). I was told that this was the absolute best deal out there, I was getting all of the special upgrades currently offered, extra incentives for being a customer for over 10 years, instant rebate... blah, blah, blah... Installation was set up for a week later. "We got you a Saturday install, do you have any idea how rare those are? It's like a unicorn sighting!" The next day, at 3:00 AM, the current system 'malfunctioned' with the siren emitting a teeth-jarring BUZZ (think firetruck as it goes through an intersection) every few seconds. Once we figured out what the source of the noise was, we disabled the system and it quit. Next morning (Sunday) at 3:00 AM, same thing. I tried to call in, but the call went nowhere beyond an endless loop of button punching. Monday morning it happened again so I was determined to get a human being on the phone to figure out how to deactivate the system until Saturday. After going through 20 minutes of trouble shooting, she couldn't tell what was wrong; on her end everything was fine. I told her to disable it until Saturday when the new system would be installed. Oh, she couldn't do that. (Bet if I hadn't paid my bill a year in advance and owed them money, she could disable the system!) I then asked for a someone to come service the system under our warranty coverage. Since I already had an appointment for Saturday, she told me to just wait until then. I asked her, "You are telling me to be woken 5 more times at 3:00 in the morning? Do you think this the proper way to treat a customer who was planning to sign a 3-year contract for a new wireless system and is paying for a service program on a malfunctioning system?" She said there wasn't anything else she could do. And that was that. A call to some competitors was in order. Central Security Group was who I ended up choosing for the following reasons: 1. Absolutely no BS. No hard sell, no pressure, just here are our wireless options and here is what it costs. 2. Pick as much or as little as you want. For example, I didn't want motion detection or cameras INSIDE, but I did want some outside. No problem. 3. NOTHING out of pocket to get the system installed. And by nothing, they mean you do not pay anything when they come out, and there is no charge later either beyond the monthly fee to monitor. 4. That monthly fee is a couple of bucks LESS than the quote from my old company. They aren't promising to install a system for "FREE", and then building it into the monthly payment. 5. They scheduled the installation for that same day!! And the technician was polite, personable, and clearly knowledgeable about what he was doing. Every detail was explained to me, and then he had me actually perform each function until I got it right. (And he never made me feel like the techno dummy I know I am.) 6. They have kept every promise made. I didn't pay a penny up front. The guy was here even earlier than the estimated time frame. And most importantly, I actually got paid $100 each night, for the next 5 nights, to have a peaceful night of sleep. (Okay, that last line is technically not true. But saving that $500 was "like" getting paid.) read more

Update: Credit where credit is due. The gent named Jimmy went to bat for me over the course of a couple of days and the company offered to meet me halfway and refund half of what they collected over the last year after I told them I was canceling. This is of course not perfect but Jimmy conducted himself well and seemed to understand that there was a core principal of fairness at work here. I understand that they have people who try to weasel out of contracts by various means, and they seem to understand I was not one of them. So we'll call it resolved. All I will say to anyone who is considering the company is to save any and all emails and correspondence with them--document, double check and save everything. PREVIOUS REVIEW I called the company in September 2016 to cancel service as we were changing vendors. The company told me I had to notify in writing which I believe I did--but I didn't keep a copy. However, the company acknowledges they have an audio recording of the call in which I cancelled service. And the company acknowledges that they have a second audio call recorded where they called me because they noticed my system was no longer connected. In that call I again said that I had canceled and that they should stop billing me. Unfortunately for me I didn't pay attention to my credit card bill until recently when I realized they had continued billing me for 11 months of service that they did not provide. I contacted them but they said they had no record of my written cancellation so they would not refund my money. I pointed out that they admit to having two audio recordings, and that it was hardly fair to hold me responsible for the Internet (email), the US Postal Service or even their own employee's handling of correspondence. But they refused to refund my money. This is just unacceptable business practice. read more

I called on Saturday to speak with the Inside Sales Manager - C.D. and was told he was not available. I demanded to speak to a mananger, I was then transferred to a very nice lady in Office of The CEO named Jackie, she was very nice and did let me know she would have the IManager of Inside Sales Call me back as this was nothing she did wrong as I let her know. Monday came and no call from the Manager C.D., then on Tuesday I phoned the Inside Sales Dept. and spoke to a very nice lady named Jennifer and she let me know the request was made on Saturday for C.D.to call me back and not sure why he can't return a call as I requested. I would recommend you listen to my calls and also maybe hire a Manager who cares about saving customers as not sure where you found C.D.but he is not doing his job and is gonna cost customers as he does not care enough to call a long term customer back. If I demand to speak to a manager I should not have to call back 2 days later, I should of spoke to one immediately. Your Inside Sales is a Joke and I would not recommend your company to anyone, you simply don't care beyond the initial installation. I would like to have a direct response and explanation for a poor choice in management ( as I was told he has no background in Alarm systems as was a Collector previously) from the CEO of your company not another employee. read more

TERRIBLE customer service! Technician was late even after 4-hour window, no update call, and upon arrival spent less than 5 minutes in they house and said system needs replaced - without troubleshooting! He said to replace failing system, we would need to sign new contract and promptly left. Next technician was very professional, thorough, and courteous. However, the system faulted again in the middle of the night within 24 hours of the 2nd tech visit. They install unreliable alarm systems with fly-by-night shoddy installations by third-party dealers. They have no intentios, or expectations, of keeping customers longer than 2-3 years because they have no process to support aging alarm systems without making customers to sign a new contract - even if it is to replace their own failing system. Did I mention their abhorrent customer service. I never received a call from branch manager with attempts to resolve, pacify, explain, apologize, or anything. Shows how little they care to keep customers. (4 years and not one missed payment). I am embarrassed to have paid this company for as long as I did. Total waste of money. I'll be looking to one of their competitors soon. read more

To anyone shopping for a security service provider. Be careful if you are thinking about using Alert 360 (aka CSG Guardian). Use my experience as your lesson and save your hard earned money. Warning: **** Their billing system is very questionable *****. I have a auto-payment setup to pay for monthly service since i became their customer but yet they would conveniently claim that i missed my payments and added those up. They would not let me know about these missing 'ghost' payments until i called in requesting to cancel the service. On cancelling their service, i was end up on the same boat as other CSG Guardian ex-customers. They will turn a simple request into a lengthy misinformation chasing game so they would charge you for another month of service that you don't use. DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH CENTRAL SECURITY GROUP, YOU WILL NOT GET THE SECURITY YOU AGREE TO OR TRUST WILL BE PROVIDED!!! I have had nothing but problems with the system and the company from the time the system was installed. The motion detector was installed upside down, the window sensors are mismatched, they only provided one sensor for a full wall slider with two openings, the original Lynx Touch 7000 keypad malfunctioned and had to be replaced with a Honeywell 5816 keypad that has also malfunctioned, a 5800 repeater was installed which is not necessary and I have not been able to deactivate the alarm remotely. And these are only some of the problems I have had with the company and their products. In short, I have not gotten the security or peace of mind that my home and family are safe as was promised in the contract!!! read more

Horrible company to be in a contract with. Apparently there is no way to cancel a contract. It has to be taken over by someone else to be released from it. My 87 year old mother signed a 60 month contract, not even realizing it was a 60 month commitment. She has now run out of money and is on a fixed income. She can no longer afford the payment and they will not let her out of the contract. The bad thing too is that they didn't even install any equipment at her home. They simply took over the monitoring of her existing system that was installed nine years ago. I've made multiple phone calls to them and escalated this all the way to the CEOs office. What kind of people are they that they would do this to an elderly person? BEWARE if you sign a contract with them, you will NOT be able to cancel. read more

After 3 years with this company we had some ups and downs. There was a major issue that I had with my account and their normal business procedures involving my contract. I did have a tough time with some of the customer relations conversations that I had concerning my account and our 3 year agreement but after reaching out to the company and stressing my current situation and managing to carry out my end of the bargain the team at central security group were more than helpful in offering a resolution and helping me to continue my journey. I am very appreciative for what this team has done for me. Really top marks. We were hesitant about taking over an existing account from the previous owner, but CSG has been helpful, friendly, and it's affordable. We couldn't be more pleased with their service. We've had two issues of sensors malfunctioning (they are over 10 years old) and needed an additional sensor installed, and both visits were done in just a few minutes. I've also called with questions a couple of times (to reset the time after daylight savings) and the call center employees are also really great - helpful and friendly. Top marks to everyone there. If you're going to sign up for service I recommend a service contract especially if your system sensors are more than a few years old - it will save you money in the long run. read more

Cameras, sensors, app for phone that CONSTANTLY monitors movements. Our Sales/Tech was Ben Brown, he was HIGHLY recommended by lifelong friends. Ben was thorough, knowledgeable, and VERY friendly. He was very polite and accommodating- glad to see that someone cares about their customers. This was very much appreciated. I've been with CSG since 2014. Have not had any major problems and have received quality service. I recently decided to change to another provider and emailed a request to cancel service. Within a few days I was contacted by Customer Care representative and asked why I wanted to change. After explaining my desire to upgrade my system they offered as much and more than I asked for at a very competitive price so I renewed. Tech upgraded the system today 8/10/18. He was considerate, professional and patient while explaining the benefits and new features of the upgrade. Very satisfied. read more

A crime happened at my home. The judge and DA asked for the video footage, the technician came out and deleted it by moving the videos to new app without telling me it will all be deleted!!!!!!!then they tried to tell me i have to push record if i wanted it recorded and then proceeded to try n sell me on another contract with a DVR system for more money. I spoke to Jimmy A. who kept in constant touch and was very helpful in assisting us to our satisfaction.
