First time to try Aleppo's Kitchen. They did not disappoint. Had the filet mignon and khashkhash kabob plates which includes rice, onion and jalapeño. Both were cooked to perfection. We added a roasted tomato and additional bread because they were so good. In addition, we started with a berry salad that made our mouths water! Best of all was our server Mari! And let me just say, the food has always been consistently excellent. This place is hands down one of my favorites for flavorful, authentic Mediterranean and Syrian food. We came with friends and did it family style--ordered a bunch of dishes and just shared everything at the table. Such a fun, low-key way to try a bit of everything. Here's what we had: Baba Ghanoush (Eggplant Hummus) - My favorite. Smoky, creamy, with the perfect drizzle of olive oil and a little paprika on top. I could eat this by the spoonful. Stuffed Grape Leaves - These were soft, lemony, and perfectly rolled. I always get these. Always. Mixed Appetizer Plate - Included hummus, baba ghanoush, tabbouleh, falafel, grape leaves, and tahini sauce. Fresh, vibrant, and perfect with the warm pita bread they serve in a basket. Mixed Grill Platter - A giant plate with juicy grilled chicken, beef kebab, and kofta, served with grilled veggies, fluffy rice, onions, garlic sauce, and more. Everything was tender and packed with flavor. Kibbeh - These little torpedo-shaped meat and bulgur croquettes were crispy on the outside and rich inside. Super satisfying. Pita Bread - Served warm in a basket, soft and pillowy, perfect for scooping everything up. Service was super friendly and attentive. They check on you just enough without hovering, and you can tell they care about the food and your experience. The new location has the same great food, and it's still casual and welcoming. Plenty of tables, great for families or friend groups, and while the parking lot can get a little busy depending on the time, there's usually space if you're patient. Bright and sparkling new, this place is as shiny as a newly minted Syrian 1 Pound coin. So, if you're hoping to be reminded of your ancestral home, sorry, there are no crowds lining up for water or scrambling over rubble of what used to be their house in order to grab a Red Cross tent. No, nothing like that. There is a nice spotless dining room and a wrap around glassed in Patio over looking Katella Ave. which is not exactly a romantic Garden of Allah view but effective use of the irregular space the owners leased. There is an Arabic loop to put you in the mood for food or remind you of fingernails on a chalkboard depending on your musical tastes. The AC was turned up so high that the temp was low enough to cure a Ham, God forgive me. Maybe this is the place to wear that ugly Christmas sweater? And while this spot is on Disney's doorstep there is no Mickey Mousing around in the kitchen. This Kitchen is totally serious about what goes out to the tables. Who's here? Disney tourists? Not so much, so no wild child running amok in a Goofy Sweatshirt between the tables and no plastic Mouse ears settled on a someone's Hajib. So, enjoy the bounty in Orange County and feel sad for the strife torn homeland. There are Cold Mezze, Hot Mezze, Flatbreads, Fresh Salads, Chef's Signature plates, Grilled items, Sandwiches and Wraps, Sides and Mocktails. If you closed your eyes and simply poked at the menu you'd still dine like Royalty. Just perusing the long list of what's on offer will make you feel full and fuller still after tackling one of the ample platters for two...for one. I enjoyed every bit of the Beet Salad with, let's say it together, Roasted Beet Bits, fresh Baby Arugula, Toasted Walnuts, Radish Slices, Red Onion Slivers, all under a drizzle of a simple dressing of just quality Olive Oil and Lemon Juice. As a finishing touch the mound of Vegetables was dotted with a crown of salty crumble of Feta Cheese. But you can't go here and order simply Bunny food. You're in luck as there is plenty of protein winking at you whispering "do me". The Shish Tawook (Chicken Kebab to we mortals) was marinated (brined) for 24 hours and then grilled just right to retain it's Chickenosity. Every chunk-o-chicken was plastic spoon tender and as juicy as it could be without it being Chicken Soup. The balanced marinade was still present and added notes of a slightly sour tang, lemon and pepper leaving a lovely lingering afterglow. The Monkey fist sized 12 pieces of Chicken were lined up next to a hill of fluffy Rice dusted with Sumac, along with a Charred Tomato and an ice cream scoop of Shredded Carrots, Red Cabbage laced with a light Vinaigrette. One plate would feed a Seal Team. And just when you think you should try to re-buckle your belt in compliance with the dictates of social civility in public out comes a bowl of wonderful Hummus which was creamy, and smooth as cake frosting. Lovely place with really nice staff and delicious halal food! I ordered the Mediterranean fries and added chicken and extra pickled red onions. Adding chicken was a little pricey at +$7 but I needed the protein and it was a rather large portion. For dessert I chose the new pistachio ice cream. We saw a post from OC food blogger on Aleppos and wanted to try . Nate.eatz recommendations are usually spot on . We were there yesterday, Wednesday around 1:30 pm . Maybe we should have taken a warning when absolutely no customers were in the restaurant. First let me say the servers were friendly and helpful with the menu . The descriptions on the menu items made us want to order a bit of everything. We ordered the hummus dip &added ribeye . Aleppian Beet salad ( very good) , Shish Barack ( ravioli) and the Mansaf which I was sooo excited to taste from the social media posts . I would say the biggest disappointment was the meat in both the ribeye and the Mansaf . It tasted like it was cooked earlier in the day and "warmed " before serving to us . average at best certainly not worth the $137 we spent for 2 people . I've ordered from Aleppo's Kitchen many times on Uber Eats, and the food's always been pretty solid. At home, I usually have my club soda with it, so everything hits perfectly. This time I decided to stop by in person while I was charging my Tesla nearby. The food was good, and the service was friendly, but one thing completely ruined the experience no filtered water. For the life of me, I don't understand how a restaurant doesn't have filtered water, or why that wouldn't be the first thing you invest in as an establishment. I ordered a club soda, but they didn't have any kind of sparkling water no Pellegrino, no Perrier, nothing. So I settled for water... and yeah, it was definitely unfiltered. Then I asked for a Coca-Cola, hoping that would save things it came out tasting like tap water with carbonation. At that point, I couldn't even enjoy my food, and that's saying something, because the food itself was actually good. Me and my friend just had an awesome day at the beach and were in the mood for some Mediterranean food so we hit Yelp to find a good spot and we stumbled upon Allepos Kitchen. I'm used to Greek Mediterranean food and saw this spot was Syrian influenced so decided to try it out. At first we were a little questionable about eating there because of the price but don't be turned away. When deciding for our dinner with our server Norman we were honest and said, "Is there anything that doesn't break the bank" he was real with us and notified us that most of their standard entrees are based at $20 which is understandable because looking at the menu it's all top quality food. They also have nice high end options like shrimp fresh seafood and such. Instead of trying to upsell us Norman guided us and pointed us to the Kebab sampler which goes for $30 but he said it's a large portion and it's pretty shareable. We went for this option and man were we pleased. So delicious all fresh ingredients, we were so pleased and our first Syrian Mediterranean food experience was phenomenal. I don't know if I'll ever be able to eat Greek Mediterranean food again without bringing this place up haha. They really set the bar. From the ambiance of the hookah/smoking patio playing middle eastern singers on TV to the option to order a hookah it was an entirely new take on Mediterranean. Very pleased with our decision to eat there and pay a bit more for a top quality meal. I appreciate the way Norman guided us and how he treated us during our dining experience. His service was the cherry on top of such a great meal. And to make matters even better while waiting for our food I guess they felt like they took a little long cooking out fresh meal so the other hostess Ali came out and apologized for the delay which was honestly nothing big for us because were were enjoying the smoking patio and watching beautiful Lebanese/Syrian women and singers on TV. As a courtesy they offered us a free desert to apologize for the wait and was taken back. So grateful for his first dining experience and I will be coming back. The way a business and its employees great their patrons is everything to me. This experience was the cap on such a beautiful day. We will be coming back and urge everyone to give this place a shot and not be scared by the price. It's such a great place for a date or families to enjoy Syrian inspired Mediterranean cuisine and you will not be disappointed. This is serious Syrian food. This is their grandma's recipes, so it may cause some to say its not authentic or it doesn't match their preconceived expectations...but our tummy's don't work like that. We want family recipes, food that may or may not taste the same every time your order it is the chance you take with home style cooking! Not a place for that in restaraunt-ville? Then you are too full of yourself! Running us down the menu, I didn't hear much after "Lamb Kabsa"... a lamb shank braised in tomatoes, onions, and grandma's spices, served over their spiced rice pilaf (topped with almonds...but no allergies here!) A mixed kibbeh platter to share, and a shawarma for the unadventurous lamb hating kid....this is some really good food here, people. Attentive service (note: family style so can be a little gruff, so have a thick hide you big babies!), some loud family commotions, side-eye glances from the OGs all make for a lively dinner with a very satisfied belly. Best to put a reservation in, as we did, since it got busy during dinner time and other parties had a wait time. We were seated right away and the staff were very friendly. There were a variety of items to choose from - I ordered the chicken shawarma ($23) under the signature dishes. It came with rice, hummus, salad, and garlic spread. The food didn't take too long to come out so that was a plus, especially since we were rushed on time. The chicken wasn't dry, the flavors were delicious, and they didn't skimp out on their portions. The total after tax and tips felt a bit steep so this wouldn't be a place I'd dine at frequently. Wow I have been looking for a good middle eastern food place for a long time and this was one of the best my mom and I have had. The place is cute inside and happening. Everything was a 10/10 and spot on. We ordered the hummus, fattoush salad, Shish barak, and Shish Tawook-chicken. Everything tasted homemade and high quality. The hummus was creamy and the bread was fluffy. The salad was refreshing and really stood out to us and would definitely order again. As far as mains the chicken was juicy and flavorful. It was our first time trying shish barak and it was delicious as well. As far as service, Izabelle was our waiter and took great care of us. She explained everything throughly and was very attentive. Absolutely perplexes me that this place manages to have a 4.5 stars. For starters everything is extremely overpriced and the menu they have listed here is outdated by about $10!!!!! Their Mediterranean fries were some fries with cilantro on it for $18!!!! Their ribeye kabob was definitely not prime ribeye as advertised, super tough and flavorless for $30! The salads that came with each plate were a pathetic excuse for Arab salad, a few pieces of cabbage nestled in the corner of the plate. The rice was flavorless. Only saving grace of the restaurant was the chicken kabob and kofta kabob. At the end of the day our bill for 3 people (no dessert) was an absurd $130 with tip. $42 a person for kabob and rice. They got popular raised their prices and got rid of hummus on all their plates. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT unless you have money to blow on mediocre food. read more

I have been dining at this restaurant for over 2 years now. I get food at least once a week and spend about $20 each time for my lunch. Service has always been amazing, and the staff is usually very friendly. I've even had a lunch experience where the chicken shawarma was a little dry. I shared it, and the staff was very receptive.   Well, today, I went to pick up my weekly $20 lunch bowl. I mention that my bread has been cold when I pick it up, and if it could be warmed. She made an unfriendly face and said, "Sure." She reached inside my pickup order, grabbed the bag holding the bread, walked away, reached in to take the bread out, and placed it on the warmer. I felt really anxious seeing her do this without gloves on. She placed the bread back in the bag and walked towards me, placed it inside my pickup order, and handed me my meal.   As politely as I could, I expressed, "Please don't take this personally, but I got a little freaked out by you handling my food without gloves, seeing as you are also handling the cash register. I'm sorry, but could you please get me another bread?"   She snatched the food, grabbed gloves, took the bread, walked back towards the bread warmer, and threw the bread. It landed in the food warming area where servers pick up food to serve. She did not throw it away. She did not clean the bread warmer; she just placed a new piece on it. When she brought me the "fresh" bread, I tried to be polite again and said, "I'm sorry... I don't want you to take it personally." With an unfriendly face, she turned around and started walking away, and said, "Yeah, uh-huh."   The level of unprofessionalism in these young food service workers is at an all-time high. It can make even the finest food establishments look ghetto. This was a terrible experience. Went from 5 stars to 1 star. Sometimes the service itself can be the reason a restaurant holds 5 stars, and I am all about service. You can't have good food and poor service. I hope she works on not taking everything personally. We are human. We all make mistakes. Also, do not treat the customer poorly over a mistake you made! Just improve and move on. read more

All Vibes, No Flavor - Disappointing Experience Aleppo's Kitchen looks great inside--clean, modern, and inviting. Unfortunately, the food is a total letdown. It was shockingly bland, easily the most flavorless Middle Eastern food I've ever had. It honestly feels like they're running away from the bold spices and richness that define their own culture's cuisine. Ain't no way traditional Syrian food is supposed to taste this dull. To make it worse, they charged nearly $30 for my plate and then wanted another $2 just for hot sauce. I ended up having to use Frank's just to make the meal remotely edible. been to aleppo many times growing up and living in socal, hadn't been in a few years and they moved (i'm late to the game). i'm not sure how i feel about the new location. i liked the hidden one on brookhurst st in the heart of little arabia. it transported me overseas. this one is nice but feels very khaleeji modern. maybe i'm just a sucker for nostalgia. anyways, the kibbeh nayeh is still so delicious. 10/10 recommend. i begrudgingly shared with my family of 6 but that's all i really wanted to eat as my dinner lol. the cheese rolls were good only had a bite because i gotta watch my gluten and dairy intake. the meats on the platters slapped. and they are shareable plates in my opinion. we got apps and salad to share so those two plates were enough for the 6 of us. the ashta was good but two bites in and i was sugared out. i recommend sharing that with at least a few other people or someone who loves sugar. service was decent, we came on christmas day for dinner and it got slammed right around 6 so then our server was overwhelmed. understandably. no place to pray. my brother asked for a rug or quiet corner but they got nothing. that's another reason little arabia was better, masjid is down the street. read more
