Came to Aleppo's with a big group for a friends birthday dinner and all the food was amazing. My favorites were: - Fattoush Salad - Mediterranean Trio Dip - Lamb Kabsa - Gyro Flatbread - Knafeh Servers were very nice and food came out at a good pace for our big group! There was live music in the outdoor patio and the atmosphere was very lively and fun on a Saturday night. The "no children" sign for the patio was kinda hilarious. Only thing I'd pass on next time is the Ayran drink! I love yogurty drinks but this one was a bit hard to down and savory/salty, perhaps I'm just not used to it. read more

My dad found this restaurant and he never suggests a specific restaurant so obviously that meant we had to try it! My entire family loved this place and the food was amazing. I didn't know Anaheim such good food! We came in on a Sunday afternoon for a quick lunch and the service was great. Menu had options from salads and cold appetizers to kebab plates, flatbreads and wraps. We got a Persian salad to share and this was very refreshing, tart and minty! Both of my parents got kebab plates which came with a side of rice and grilled vegetables as well as a slaw type of salad and I got a chicken shawarma wrap with a side of fries. Everything tasted great and came out fresh. Though the chicken kebab was so juicy and tender, I do recommend getting the mixed kebab plate so you can try all the meats. Not your normal middle eastern menu-but better! Food was delicious and different. My cousin took me here because we wanted middle eastern food but something different and it really was. All cooked in the kitchen by the owner chef herself. We ordered the Fatouche Salad and Kibbeh Nayyeh to start with and for dinner we split an order of the Shish Barak. Each bite of the salad was amazing and filled with flavor and perfect balance of texture and spices. Pita bread is also served on the table, and the Kibbeh Nayyeh is served with mint leaves and onions that you eat with the pita. But the best was the Shish Barak (Syrian Ravioli). The dumplings were coked to perfection in a rich yogurt sauce and served with rice. Everything was excellent and the restaurant is more like fine dining. We sat in their hookah patio which is lit up with chandeliers, and heated with warmers and fire pits. There's a cute little shop at the entrance with beautiful Syrian hand made items from wood and mother of pearl, like jewelry boxes, soap sets/boxes, chess boards and other trinkets. As we walked through the restaurant to the rear where our table would be, I kept smelling bursts of amazing food and spices, then as we passed the drink prep area, I smelled "clean"-like as in sterile/cleanser. I never smell clean in restaurants or it's rare. I loved that and it made me even more confident in eating there. But the most important and best part of my experience there was the service-I've never ever gone to a Middle Eastern restaurant where they had both good food and good service. It's always one or the other and Ive already accepted that the service will suck because the food is amazing when I go to good middle eastern restaurants. But not at this place. The food is amazing and the service was on point! We never had to wait longer than 5 minutes to request something from or see our waitress. The waiters were always around, monitoring our needs and they weren't overwhelmed waiting more tables than they each could handle. We didn't spend 2.5 hours at this restaurant mostly waiting to make eye contact with our waiter to get there attention to ask for a refill, more napkins, a utensil, our check or waiting for our food. Nope-not here. Service was on point. We didn't order any coffee/tea or desert because we were stuffed and we took our leftovers home. We also did not stay to have hookah there this time either. But maybe next time. Prices are a little on the higher side, but the food, service abd ambience is well worth it. It's fine dining and classy. She provided suggestions when we were looking at the Gyro and other options. We both got a lunch plate with provided a delicious variety of side options. I could have gone with either rice option, which my friend went for. Or more Keto or Atkins Friendly, on a bed of greens. I wanted more chlorophyll in my diet that day and selected that. I was craving shish barak, so we went to Aleppo's Kitchen today and also ordered the Aleppo appetizer platter and the mixed kabab platter. OMG, everything was amazingggg! The shish barak especially was so delicious and comforting. My grandma is Syrian, and it honestly reminded me so much of her cooking. It brought back such good memories. The flavors tasted authentic, everything was fresh, and the kababs were cooked perfectly. We already decided this is going to be our new go-to spot whenever we're craving Middle Eastern food. My mom spilled her Coke all over herself and the entire staff were quick to help, cleaned her up, helped us change tables, were very gracious. She felt AWFUL, but they put her at ease. Food was okay, but the bill was shocking. We were charged around $300 for a very ordinary meal, and after reviewing the receipt, I found three separate extra charges: a group charge, automatic gratuity, and a service fee. Apparently, a family of two adults and four children (ages 13, 12, 4, and 3) qualifies as a "large group." Between these added fees, well over $100 was added to the bill. Charging a mandatory tip is one thing, but adding multiple extra fees on top of that feels excessive and misleading. I have been dining at restaurants my entire life and have never seen a family our size treated as a large group and hit with this many mandatory charges. What made it worse was that none of this was clearly communicated beforehand. Customers should know about these fees before ordering, not discover them after the meal when it's time to pay. The food was decent, but not nearly good enough to justify the price once all the extra charges were added. This place is overrated, and the billing practices left a much stronger impression than the food itself. I will not be returning. read more

We were seated outside on their covered patio, there is plenty of seating, some table even have built in fireplaces which would be super nice for a group get together. We tried a few appetizers, kabobs, and desserts. Live music began closer to 7:30, which was fun, but very loud, I'm glad we had 1-1.5 hours before hand to chat before the music started, because it was tough to hear each other once it did. Although live music is outside, indoor seating is plenty and you can't hear the music from there, so this might be a good option if you're looking for a quieter space. I had been looking forward to trying Aleppo's Kitchen after seeing it on TikTok, so we made a trip from LA to OC just for this. First off, great parking with plenty of space, which is always a plus. The decor is really nice, with a lot of beautiful dallahs, ibriks and Arabic books. I also noticed the independent Syrian flag in the middle of the restaurant, which was a nice touch. We went around noon, so it was pretty busy. They seemed a bit understaffed, so service was slower, but it didn't take away from the experience too much. - Falafel Bowl (half mixed greens, half bulgur, tzatziki, house sauce, tomato, cucumber, feta) - Fresh, but nothing special. The falafel was crunchy and hot, but not particularly exciting. The tzatziki was pretty standard, but the house sauce was great. Overall, a solid Mediterranean bowl, but not something I'd go out of my way for. - Potato & Za'atar Flatbread - I love man'oush, so I was excited for this. Unfortunately, the za'atar flavor was too weak making potato the dominant flavor. It felt like it was adjusted for a general audience rather than capturing the bold za'atar-forward taste I was expecting. - Mama Suher's Yalanji - Really good. Very bright, zesty, and rich in olive oil. My partner tried it for the first time and loved it. If you enjoy stuffed grape leaves, this is a solid choice. - Cheese Rolls with Akkawi - Super warm and crispy on the outside, with chewy, slightly salty cheese inside. I'm not the biggest fan of akkawi, but these were really well done and apparently, the cheese is imported from Syria. Definitely worth ordering if you like akkawi. - Mediterranean Trio Dip (Muhammara, Hummus, Mutabbal) - Comes with two pieces of pita. The hummus was pretty basic, nothing standout. But the mutabbal was really fresh, and the muhammara was excellent. If you're a fan of dips, I'd get this just for the muhammara and mutabbal. - Desserts: Ashta & Knafeh - I always order knafeh at Middle Eastern restaurants, so I was excited. It took a while since they make it fresh, which I appreciate. But when it arrived, it was really hot and dry, like they forgot to add rose syrup. A bit disappointing. As for the ashta, it wasn't as milky or creamy as I expected. I think they should offer different variations of knafeh (cheese vs. ashta). Aleppo's Kitchen is a great introduction to Syrian food but still leans toward general Mediterranean flavors, making it more accessible to people unfamiliar with Middle Eastern cuisine. If you're looking for bold Syrian flavors, you might not find them here, but it's still a solid spot. A friend of mine invited me out to lunch and chose this restaurant. It was my first time. This is a Mediterranean restaurant. Since I was a guest, I did not get a chance to take a photo of the menu, hopefully there might be some photos from other yelp reviewers. Isabel, our server explained to me that their specialty are their Mediterranean bowls. They allow you to choose your protein And two sides and two sauces. They also had Mediterranean plates and salads and a variety of soft drinks and other beverages. Isabel was very attentive, and polite. She allowed us time to discuss business when she returned we ordered and within 10 to 15 minutes we had our food. I have visited other Mediterranean restaurants and I would have to say this one ranks as one of the best. What I liked about my bowl was that the rice was fluffy? The chicken was very tasty and tender. The house sauce was smooth and creamy and of course the avocados and beets were a great addition. My host and his colleague had been here before and they rave about how good it is. Along with our bowls, we ordered french fries and pita bread. Although the restaurant appeared to be small in size, it was not too noisy in spite of the fact that they were quite a few guests. I finally made it back for the Shish Barak (Syrian ravioli), and WOW! It was one of the most unique dishes I've had in a long time. No better way to describe it. The rich yogurt sauce was incredible, and the Aleppo rice paired perfectly with it. I also got the Meat-Topped Flatbread (I wanted something with cheese and accidentally ordered the wrong one). It was pretty meh by itself, but it ended up being a great vehicle to soak up the rest of the ravioli sauce. I know this is a weird thing to highlight, but I have to give credit to their ice water. Yes, their ice water. So clean, crisp, and refreshing. I had three glasses, which probably tells you the basics matter to them. Of everything I've tried at here, the Shish Barak is the only dish in a league of its own. It's an absolute must-try! I highly recommend ordering it dine-in. And don't skip the ice water either! I don't usually leave reviews, which makes this especially disappointing because we truly enjoy the food here. Honestly, I think this place is even better than Panini, which we also like. What left a bad impression was the pricing approach and customer service. They charge for every little extra, including hot sauce or garlic sauce. We were charged $2 for sauce, which feels excessive when entree prices are already $25+. The bigger issue was the Turkish coffee. We confirmed with the waitress that we wanted one order. She brought one coffee in a jar with one tiny cup. When I asked for an extra small cup for my wife, we were later charged for two Turkish coffees simply because we asked for another cup. That is unreasonable, and it should have been clearly communicated upfront. We live very close by, so this is frustrating because the food quality is genuinely great. But the business model and service take away from the experience. My suggestion is simple: if you need to charge more, just raise the menu prices. But charging extra for basic sauce requests or for an extra cup with one Turkish coffee is a real turnoff. read more

Came here on a Saturday night around 5:30 and the place had probably seated 3-4 parties inside. We made a reservation minutes ahead of arriving and others were told that the wait was 40 minutes even though it was very empty. After being seated our drink order was taken then our food order. After that the service went downhill. There seemed to be one server taking orders for the entire restaurant as we notice other people waiting to close out and place their orders. He was clearly overwhelmed as around 6:15 there was a line out the door to be seated and tables sat dirty waiting to be cleared and cleaned for over an hour. Clearly this place needs to hire more people. Our drink glasses sat empty several times and we had to flag down someone every time to refill our drinks, clear the table, and take our dessert order. The food was good, but for the service I feel it is not worth us coming back. We ordered: Cheese rolls- these were dry and so underwhelming, it needed some type of dipping sauce, not worth ordering Filet mignon skewers- you get 8 pieces of meat, which some pieces were tough, and others were soft, so not sure if they mix the meat as filet mignon is supposed to be soft. It comes with rice. Grilled shrimp skewers- the shrimp were big and juicy and served with something similar to brown rice, this was very tasty. We also ordered the tiramisu which was very delicious, super moist and perfectly balanced. Perfect for 2 people to share. I understand it's a family owned business, but it needs to be better staffed for the amount of business it gets. Also they allow people to smoke in the patio and keep the patio door open. So if you are eating inside you consistently get the smell of cigar and cigarettes as you're eating your meal inside. Not very pleasant in my opinion.
