This is an amazing little restaurant. I have eaten here more than a dozen times and the food is consistently excellent! I've eaten here for lunch, I've eaten here for dinner, and I have come for just appetizers and drinks in the evening. Everything is exceptionally fresh and every dish I've eaten has been wonderful. The ambiance is modern, clean and tasteful. They also have an outdoor section which is open in the evenings. The service is something that really stands out here. Every waiter, waitress and busser I've spoken to has been exceptionally, polite, professional and caring. Great food! Excellent service! Isabel was awesome, very helpful, attentive, and kind. My mom spilled her Coke all over herself and the entire staff were quick to help, cleaned her up, helped us change tables, were very gracious. She felt AWFUL, but they put her at ease. I had the chicken kabob plate and Turkish coffee, it was exceptional! My mom had the kafta plate and a Coke. We got French fries on the side, as good as any I've had in a long time. Nice atmosphere, very clean! I sent photos of our food to my sister, who wanted me to get three chicken kebab plates for her family to go, which I did. They loved it as well! I always pass final judgement AFTER checking out the bathrooms, and these were honestly about the nicest I've EVER seen, so icing on the cake. I finally made it back for the Shish Barak (Syrian ravioli), and WOW! It was one of the most unique dishes I've had in a long time. No better way to describe it. The rich yogurt sauce was incredible, and the Aleppo rice paired perfectly with it. I also got the Meat-Topped Flatbread (I wanted something with cheese and accidentally ordered the wrong one). It was pretty meh by itself, but it ended up being a great vehicle to soak up the rest of the ravioli sauce. I know this is a weird thing to highlight, but I have to give credit to their ice water. Yes, their ice water. So clean, crisp, and refreshing. I had three glasses, which probably tells you the basics matter to them. Of everything I've tried at here, the Shish Barak is the only dish in a league of its own. It's an absolute must-try! I highly recommend ordering it dine-in. And don't skip the ice water either! I watched this place come to life and I knew I wanted to try it. I don't know what took me so long, but I'm glad that I did from the minute that I walked in. I knew it was the place that I would love because there were tea kettles EVERYWHERE at the entrance! The atmosphere was also very relaxed. There used to be a Rubio's in the same parking lot back in the day, but now there are a few boutique spots. There's plenty of parking but watch out for the 30 min. spots. Inside, the place looks pretty authentic. Isabelle was our server and was pretty knowledgeable, offering great recommendations on the menu. I ordered a gyro bowl and Turkish coffee and enjoyed both. Asked the waitress multiple times to confirm with the kitchen if any of the items had walnuts or any forms of nuts because I have an extreme allergy. She confirmed that the foods I was ordering did not have any nuts. Took a bite and bit into a walnut & literally had to go to the emergency room. Chicken Shawerma I would recommend to eat with yogurt dip otherwise a little dry Flatbread: perfect balance of zaaghtar and cheese Cheese rolls. I don't usually leave reviews, which makes this especially disappointing because we truly enjoy the food here. Honestly, I think this place is even better than Panini, which we also like. What left a bad impression was the pricing approach and customer service. They charge for every little extra, including hot sauce or garlic sauce. We were charged $2 for sauce, which feels excessive when entree prices are already $25+. The bigger issue was the Turkish coffee. We confirmed with the waitress that we wanted one order. She brought one coffee in a jar with one tiny cup. When I asked for an extra small cup for my wife, we were later charged for two Turkish coffees simply because we asked for another cup. That is unreasonable, and it should have been clearly communicated upfront. We live very close by, so this is frustrating because the food quality is genuinely great. But the business model and service take away from the experience. My suggestion is simple: if you need to charge more, just raise the menu prices. But charging extra for basic sauce requests or for an extra cup with one Turkish coffee is a real turnoff. read more

A friend hosted Girls Night here at Aleppo's for 7-8 people. The staff were super friendly, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. They've done a great job of transforming their space both inside and outdoors on the patio to make it feel a little more upscale and inviting. We were seated outside on their covered patio, there is plenty of seating, some table even have built in fireplaces which would be super nice for a group get together. We tried a few appetizers, kabobs, and desserts. Live music began closer to 7:30, which was fun, but very loud, I'm glad we had 1-1.5 hours before hand to chat before the music started, because it was tough to hear each other once it did. Although live music is outside, indoor seating is plenty and you can't hear the music from there, so this might be a good option if you're looking for a quieter space. We enjoyed all of the offerings, everything was fresh and full of flavor. The desserts were especially delicious. read more

I had been looking forward to trying Aleppo's Kitchen after seeing it on TikTok, so we made a trip from LA to OC just for this. First off, great parking with plenty of space, which is always a plus. The decor is really nice, with a lot of beautiful dallahs, ibriks and Arabic books. I also noticed the independent Syrian flag in the middle of the restaurant, which was a nice touch. We went around noon, so it was pretty busy. They seemed a bit understaffed, so service was slower, but it didn't take away from the experience too much. - Falafel Bowl (half mixed greens, half bulgur, tzatziki, house sauce, tomato, cucumber, feta) - Fresh, but nothing special. The falafel was crunchy and hot, but not particularly exciting. The tzatziki was pretty standard, but the house sauce was great. Overall, a solid Mediterranean bowl, but not something I'd go out of my way for. - Potato & Za'atar Flatbread - I love man'oush, so I was excited for this. Unfortunately, the za'atar flavor was too weak making potato the dominant flavor. It felt like it was adjusted for a general audience rather than capturing the bold za'atar-forward taste I was expecting. - Mama Suher's Yalanji - Really good. Very bright, zesty, and rich in olive oil. My partner tried it for the first time and loved it. If you enjoy stuffed grape leaves, this is a solid choice. - Cheese Rolls with Akkawi - Super warm and crispy on the outside, with chewy, slightly salty cheese inside. I'm not the biggest fan of akkawi, but these were really well done and apparently, the cheese is imported from Syria. Definitely worth ordering if you like akkawi. - Mediterranean Trio Dip (Muhammara, Hummus, Mutabbal) - Comes with two pieces of pita. The hummus was pretty basic, nothing standout. But the mutabbal was really fresh, and the muhammara was excellent. If you're a fan of dips, I'd get this just for the muhammara and mutabbal. - Desserts: Ashta & Knafeh - I always order knafeh at Middle Eastern restaurants, so I was excited. It took a while since they make it fresh, which I appreciate. But when it arrived, it was really hot and dry, like they forgot to add rose syrup. A bit disappointing. As for the ashta, it wasn't as milky or creamy as I expected. I think they should offer different variations of knafeh (cheese vs. ashta). Aleppo's Kitchen is a great introduction to Syrian food but still leans toward general Mediterranean flavors, making it more accessible to people unfamiliar with Middle Eastern cuisine. If you're looking for bold Syrian flavors, you might not find them here, but it's still a solid spot. I'd bring friends who want to try Middle Eastern food for the first time, but I wouldn't drive all the way here again specifically for it. read more

First time trying this restaurant and I'll start by saying the minute we walked in I already had high hopes because it smelled so good in there . Service was very good actually the lady that helped us out would check up on us a lot it really showed that she was attentive to her tables. The food quality and taste were definitely what I expected it was all very very delicious . The steak was so good and so was the chicken. For dessert we had the pistachio ice cream that I will say was not my favorite I'd give that a 6/10 but aside from that everything was delicious I would definitely recommend this place just do keep in mind it is on the more expensive side but I guess u do get what u pay for and it's well worth it . A friend of mine invited me out to lunch and chose this restaurant. It was my first time. This is a Mediterranean restaurant. Since I was a guest, I did not get a chance to take a photo of the menu, hopefully there might be some photos from other yelp reviewers. Isabel, our server explained to me that their specialty are their Mediterranean bowls. They allow you to choose your protein And two sides and two sauces. They also had Mediterranean plates and salads and a variety of soft drinks and other beverages. Isabel was very attentive, and polite. She allowed us time to discuss business when she returned we ordered and within 10 to 15 minutes we had our food. I have visited other Mediterranean restaurants and I would have to say this one ranks as one of the best. What I liked about my bowl was that the rice was fluffy? The chicken was very tasty and tender. The house sauce was smooth and creamy and of course the avocados and beets were a great addition. My host and his colleague had been here before and they rave about how good it is. Along with our bowls, we ordered french fries and pita bread. Although the restaurant appeared to be small in size, it was not too noisy in spite of the fact that they were quite a few guests. Came here on a Saturday night around 5:30 and the place had probably seated 3-4 parties inside. We made a reservation minutes ahead of arriving and others were told that the wait was 40 minutes even though it was very empty. After being seated our drink order was taken then our food order. After that the service went downhill. There seemed to be one server taking orders for the entire restaurant as we notice other people waiting to close out and place their orders. He was clearly overwhelmed as around 6:15 there was a line out the door to be seated and tables sat dirty waiting to be cleared and cleaned for over an hour. Clearly this place needs to hire more people. Our drink glasses sat empty several times and we had to flag down someone every time to refill our drinks, clear the table, and take our dessert order. The food was good, but for the service I feel it is not worth us coming back. We ordered: Cheese rolls- these were dry and so underwhelming, it needed some type of dipping sauce, not worth ordering Filet mignon skewers- you get 8 pieces of meat, which some pieces were tough, and others were soft, so not sure if they mix the meat as filet mignon is supposed to be soft. It comes with rice. Grilled shrimp skewers- the shrimp were big and juicy and served with something similar to brown rice, this was very tasty. We also ordered the tiramisu which was very delicious, super moist and perfectly balanced. Perfect for 2 people to share. I understand it's a family owned business, but it needs to be better staffed for the amount of business it gets. Also they allow people to smoke in the patio and keep the patio door open. So if you are eating inside you consistently get the smell of cigar and cigarettes as you're eating your meal inside. Not very pleasant in my opinion. Also their website doesn't reflect what you are served, as our plates were not served with hummus or pita bread. read more

And let me just say, the food has always been consistently excellent. This place is hands down one of my favorites for flavorful, authentic Mediterranean and Syrian food. We came with friends and did it family style--ordered a bunch of dishes and just shared everything at the table. Such a fun, low-key way to try a bit of everything. Here's what we had: Baba Ghanoush (Eggplant Hummus) - My favorite. Smoky, creamy, with the perfect drizzle of olive oil and a little paprika on top. I could eat this by the spoonful. Stuffed Grape Leaves - These were soft, lemony, and perfectly rolled. I always get these. Always. Mixed Appetizer Plate - Included hummus, baba ghanoush, tabbouleh, falafel, grape leaves, and tahini sauce. Fresh, vibrant, and perfect with the warm pita bread they serve in a basket. Mixed Grill Platter - A giant plate with juicy grilled chicken, beef kebab, and kofta, served with grilled veggies, fluffy rice, onions, garlic sauce, and more. Everything was tender and packed with flavor. Kibbeh - These little torpedo-shaped meat and bulgur croquettes were crispy on the outside and rich inside. Super satisfying. Pita Bread - Served warm in a basket, soft and pillowy, perfect for scooping everything up. Service was super friendly and attentive. I would say the biggest disappointment was the meat in both the ribeye and the Mansaf . It tasted like it was cooked earlier in the day and "warmed " before serving to us . average at best certainly not worth the $137 we spent for 2 people . Absolutely perplexes me that this place manages to have a 4.5 stars. For starters everything is extremely overpriced and the menu they have listed here is outdated by about $10!!!!! The salads that came with each plate were a pathetic excuse for Arab salad, a few pieces of cabbage nestled in the corner of the plate. The rice was flavorless. Only saving grace of the restaurant was the chicken kabob and kofta kabob. At the end of the day our bill for 3 people (no dessert) was an absurd $130 with tip. $42 a person for kabob and rice. The menu offers the very best of Syrian tastes that all tastes terrific and celebrates the unique cuisine of an ancient culture. So, enjoy the bounty in Orange County and feel sad for the strife torn homeland. There are Cold Mezze, Hot Mezze, Flatbreads, Fresh Salads, Chef's Signature plates, Grilled items, Sandwiches and Wraps, Sides and Mocktails. If you closed your eyes and simply poked at the menu you'd still dine like Royalty. Just perusing the long list of what's on offer will make you feel full and fuller still after tackling one of the ample platters for two...for one. I enjoyed every bit of the Beet Salad with, let's say it together, Roasted Beet Bits, fresh Baby Arugula, Toasted Walnuts, Radish Slices, Red Onion Slivers, all under a drizzle of a simple dressing of just quality Olive Oil and Lemon Juice. As a finishing touch the mound of Vegetables was dotted with a crown of salty crumble of Feta Cheese. But you can't go here and order simply Bunny food. You're in luck as there is plenty of protein winking at you whispering "do me". The Shish Tawook (Chicken Kebab to we mortals) was marinated (brined) for 24 hours and then grilled just right to retain it's Chickenosity. Every chunk-o-chicken was plastic spoon tender and as juicy as it could be without it being Chicken Soup. The balanced marinade was still present and added notes of a slightly sour tang, lemon and pepper leaving a lovely lingering afterglow. The Monkey fist sized 12 pieces of Chicken were lined up next to a hill of fluffy Rice dusted with Sumac, along with a Charred Tomato and an ice cream scoop of Shredded Carrots, Red Cabbage laced with a light Vinaigrette. One plate would feed a Seal Team. And just when you think you should try to re-buckle your belt in compliance with the dictates of social civility in public out comes a bowl of wonderful Hummus which was creamy, and smooth as cake frosting. You can discard any reservations about Arabic (Syrian) cuisine. I recommend you make a reservation and schlepo to Alleppo. read more
