HIRE A BARTENDER Food is 9/10, been several times, but there is a huge issue with the service because they have one server for the whole restaurant who also makes all the drinks. Last night we waited 30 minutes just to get our margaritas. Couldn't get our order in when we wanted, and was never checked on when food arrived. Had to flag down a bus boy to pay our bill as we were waiting 20 minutes just to pay. I would have ordered several more drinks, never even had the chance to order them, and they take 30 minutes as the only server is making the drinks for the entire restaurant. Ownership needs to take into account experience and have someone else making drinks, or get a second server. One food gripe is it's obvious they switch to Kirkland signature Costco chips when they are running low on their own. Very lame, chips are easy to make. Costco's dry chips are not a great experience, last night it was a mix of theirs and Costco's, strange. Might be a takeout only place if they don't hire more staffing, or only go when it's empty. read more

The special (Birria quesadilla - also came with a dipping sauce ) and the chipotle shrimp tacos were standouts and favorites, but feels like you can't go wrong. Seriously the best Mexican food I've had in Seattle in a while! Was so excited to try this place after seeing so much hype online, and honestly it lived up to my expectations! The house margarita was one of the best cocktails I've ever tried, the pomegranate really took it to the next level. For my entree, I got the chicken enchiladas which were amazing, I've never had potatoes as a side at all Mexican restaurant and I loved the texture they added to the dish. This restaurant just opened today 11/2. It's in the spot formerly occupied by 4 spoons cafe (corner of 85th and Dibble). Highly recommend trying it! I just asked my kid how many stars this place should have and the answer was 6 stars out of 5! It really was that good. We live nearby and had been anxiously awaiting the opening of the new neighborhood joint. Had a lovely dinner there tonight. All food was super fresh and vibrant. Kids loved the homemade tortilla chips and salsa. We got carne asada, chicken mole, veggie enchiladas (forgot to take a photo before I demolished) and key lime pie. Enchiladas were amazing. Veggie version actually had tons of kale and mushrooms so was a very healthful and fresh take. Wonderful flavor and came with wonderfully seasoned potatoes and beans. Get the tacos!! They are so flavorful and they put cole slaw and tiny broccoli pieces in the tacos (instead of just tomatoes and lettuce) which makes it so good. Cocktails are ok. Service was a bit slow the first time we came here but I figure they are new and still figuring things out. I went a second time but arrived early before all the tables were full, and food came super fast. Sinchronizadas with crab was better than the regular sinchronizadas but still great. read more

We went here for dinner on a rainy Saturday evening, it was crowded but we lucked out and were seated immediately. We both had the house margs which were delicious with the chips and really yummy salsa. I got the chicken mole enchiladas and my partner got the carne asada quesadillas. Mine was fine but the quesadillas were out of this world. The flavor of the carne asada was bomb. Next time we come, and we'll definitely be back, I'll be getting the carne asada. read more

We got takeout from Alebrijes Kitchen. Almost regret not dining in, seems like a family owned business and the ambience was really nice. The fireplace in a smaller dining area made it feel really homey. The staff was also super genuine and kind even just from our short interactions checking out. We got the enchiladas, carne asada tacos, and pork tacos. I was worried when I only ordered two tacos but these tacos were packed with carne asada, much larger portion than what you'd expect. The Mexican food at Alebrijes is some of the best I've had in Seattle. The service can be a tad slow due to minimal staff, but it's good enough. The baked queso was exquisite--it had olive oil, herbs and tomatoes. The chipotle shrimp tacos were amazing. Three loaded tortillas with lots of shrimp and crema, just a little spicy. The carne asada was really flavorful. I don't know how they prepare it, but it is excellent. The location is great. There is parking in the neighborhood around the restaurant or just a short block away on 85th. The interior is decorated like many other Mexican restaurants--colorful and lively. There aren't a lot of tables, and it seems to be a family-gathering place. Luckily, we didn't have to wait at all to get seated at 6 p.m. on a Friday. (they don't seem to take reservations.) However, by the time we left, all the tables were taken. Definitely recommend it; will go again. read more

We ordered a second round margaritas which never came, and never acknowledged that they were forgotten. Excellent food in a cozy atmosphere. The owners used to run Cocina Esperanza on sunset hill which closed after well over a decade of being in business. This restaurant opened Nov 2022 and they're planning to bring some items from Esperanza's menu over (including the tortilla soup). Went here when a friend and I were craving Mexican food. The inside is very homey feeling and all of the staff are super friendly. We started off with two bottled cervezas, bummer they didn't have any on draft but it wasn't a deal breaker. I ordered the shredding beef enchiladas and they were great tasting and a huge portion. They came with potatoes and pinto beans on the side. We washed our food down with a glass of mezcal and another beer. Overall great place! read more

We were so excited to hear that Cocina Esperanza was coming back as Alebrijes Kitchen. I'm hoping things improve with time, but our experience was disappointing. We ordered guac and didn't get it. The server snagged my credit card without showing me the itemized receipt first and charged us for the guac we didn't get (I should have asked to see it). They brought my wife red enchiladas instead of green and when I mentioned it they offered to bring her a side of verdes sauce, not to bring her the right order. Service was slow and we had a hard time getting a drink order in. With time and more traffic, hopefully they can increase their staff and button things up a bit more. The food was delicious and the atmosphere so so cozy with the fireplace. I got a jalapeño margarita and my wife got the sangria - both were delicious. read more

I want to say at first glance this place looks what I like to call seattlefiyed(whitewashed) but after entering i was greeted by a woman and she very politely brought me to my seat in the middle of the room she served me pretty mediocre chips and salsa and thought would be the whole experience, fortunately that wasn't the case I paid 12.97(plus tip)for two shredded beef tacos and was pleasantly surprised with the juicyness of the meat and the authentic taste.
