This place can be a great deal sometimes but not last week. I got the big breakfast, which is normally good. But the bacon was literally burned black- about 70% of the pieces. I asked about it and they said that I asked for it to be well done. I said well done, not burnt black. Do you guys really not know the difference? I won't be back for a while. I've overlooked the closing early and occasional shortfall of chili on the hotdogs- but burnt bacon? Really? And you are better off closing early than to stop serving 15-20 minutes before your posted close. read more

On route 138 west in Richmond in the Jules Antiques parking lot you will find Albie's Place Rhodeside https://albiesrhodeside.com bringing yummy goodness to Hope Valley. Burgers, hot dogs, milk shakes, fish & chips, clam cakes and chowder to name a few items. The fish & chips was two generous pieces of fish with steak fries, very delicious! Everything else I saw around us looked great. They have picnic tables with umbrellas set up so you can eat on the spot. friends have reported everything travels well. We will definitely be back to try some of the other offerings. read more

Albie's has been a URI Institution since I first started at URI as an undergrad in 1996. And having eaten there a few days ago I must say the food had stayed pretty damn consistent. Albie's Menu has your standard kind of sandwich place/dinery fair. Alot of wraps, burgers, sandwiches, hot dogs and milk shakes. They also have some salads and any good RI'ers staple... Awful Awfuls.... If you don't know, I can't explain. The food all in all, is decent. The fries are one of my favorites... thick cut steak fries, that are always super crispy... and smothered in Albie's cheese sauce... nothing better for soaking up the booze after a night of fun. Chicken fingers and patty melt are a couple other of my favorites. Its good pretty basic staple food, done consistently well. Plus the staff is always super friendly. So if your cruising by URI Kingston Campus, and craving a reasonably priced burger, some cheese fries and a shake.. hit them up. read more

I've been stopping by Albie's every so often when I'm on the URI campus for class and I do like the food there. I just had a steak and cheese, fries, and soda last night; the steak and cheese was good and the fries were excellent. That being said, I paid about $10 for the whole thing, and while I was full afterwards, I did think to myself, "That was it for $10?" Maybe it's because I'm always amazed at the small size of the order of fries. Anyway, I will most likely continue to eat there every once in a while when I'm on campus, as there isn't really a gigantic selection of eats in the area. I haven't really stretched the menu, even though it's not totally exciting to begin with (burgers, wraps, sandwiches, salads, etc.), but it serves a purpose. And even though the order of fries are small, they are tasty, and I'm a sucker for good fries. read more

Horrible! My burger was paper thin. You know it's gonna be a bad burger when they don't ask you how you'd like it cooked. Bun was floury and bland. The whole burger was lettuce! Not to mention it was almost as cold inside as it was outside so I had to eat my terrible burger in my car with the heat on. Poor employees were all bundled up. Put the damn heat on!!! As Bill Belichick would say, "It is what it is..." and what Albie's is is a good place to get a sandwich in the Kingston area. Don't come here with delusions of grandeur or great expectations - you won't get that. Albie's does a good job with basics; chicken fingers, french fries (steak fries actually!!) and things that can be placed between two slabs of bread. Usually I get a steak bomb when I go here. It's not the greatest, but it'll do, pig, it'll do. I do have a fondness for the thick-cut fries which are always lava hot at time of service. Hey, it's a decent place for a quick inexpensive bite. URI students seem to love this place, and they say it's been there for twenty-plus years. I cannot for the life of me see why. The food is greasy. The menu is boring - and they charge you for 'extras' like cheese and pickles. Once you walk in and you immediately get a wiff of their savory fries and the sound of sizzling burgers in the background. What I actually enjoy most about this place is their wrap around mural of notorious local landmarks that makes a native Rhode Islander feel all sorts of fuzzy warm pride. The dining experience is decent, casual and social. Their food is pretty good and the portions are just right. They have unique, delicious combos options available. And even well blended milkshakes to accompany your fries. Yes, I dip my fries in milkshakes. Don't judge. As a URI alum, I can recall eating from here twice or three times EVER. Not because of the food itself. It's flavorful, cheesy and oozing in greasy goodness. Don't get me wrong. But when you have a plaza full of cheaper foods that gives you more fatty filling for your buck. You bet you're dolla' my broke college self chose otherwise. read more

This place is some kind of weird throwback. The menu consists of pretty boring burgers, sandwiches on institutional bread, hot dogs, and chicken fingers (!). The decor hasn't been updated since the 80s. It's OK if you're looking for average diner food, but the atmosphere is not diner-y at all, and it is more expensive than most diners I've been to. If you're not an adventurous eater, this is the place to go. If you're with someone who likes food with flavor, send them next door for falafel. read more

Best mozzarella sticks around URI. Boyfriend got the burger melt and said it was pretty good. Fries were awesome. They have Stewarts root beer. We got a burger with fries, mozzarella sticks and two drinks all for under 20. Not bad at all. Update: just had the chicken fingers. Best at URI by FAR. So good! I gave 4 stars because their hours are super confusing. The web may say a time, you can drive there and they are closed. The hours should be clear and updated. I realize this is on a college campus, but locals such as myself really enjoy the food too. When URI is not in session I would strongly advise calling first. That being said, this is my favorite restaurant in the Emporium. I live close by and order online. Every time our order has been ready to be picked up on arrival. When you order online you can choose approximately a time to get your order. When URI is in session this place can be very busy. They offer several items and are reasonably priced. Staff has always been pleasant. The cheese fries are awesome if you feel like being bad (hahaha). The steak/ cheese grinder and the turkey grinder are really good as well. There are so many items, but read the phat sandwiches if you need a laugh or just want a huge meal stuffed into a grinder. read more

This place sucks. Been waiting 2+ hours for a single wrap. Have called multiple times and the food has still not been delivered, even after I was told it was on its way. They even gave me a refund, but STILL can't deliver food to a dorm 2 minutes away! This is ridiculous. It's a Sunday night, it shouldn't take almost 3 hours to give me my wrap! Never ordering from here AGAIN. UPDATE: they called us and told us the order would be delivered in 10-15 mins. It's now 11:15, the food still hasn't been delivered, and Albies closes at 11pm on Sundays. They brushed our order off until closing so they didn't have to deliver it. UNBELIEVABLE. Going to speak to the manager tomorrow. read more

If you're not into meat, this really isn't your kind of place. They have salads but they're pretty expensive. My fiancé is a huge fan of the hot weiners and hot dogs. I've seen him put away an inhuman amount of them, and he's pretty picky. The staff is always friendly and the inside is cute. read more

Albies is a great little spot! Be carefull if you frequent, because there is a good chance your gonna make a few friends there! This place place beats the cafeteria food at URI! Great place typical greasy college food place decently priced as well. Only complaint I have is sometimes during peak times they don't do well organizing orders, ordered my food online went in twenty minutes later still nothing. Waited another ten minutes and people who went in while I was waiting and ordered were getting their food before me, besides that great place. read more

The food here is excellent and the menu is original and tasteful. With good service you could come here with your friends or family any day of the week and have a good time. Any of the sandwiches here are good but for first timers I recommend the Phat Albie... All food here is amazing, I highly recommend coming here to eat. read more

Check RI DOH website... Many health code violations. When I use to occasionally stop in there, I frequently observed staff eating in food prep area, touching their mouth, hair, face, and picking things up off the floor and then handling customers good without washing hands. Was yelled at by the middle aged woman at the counter when I asked her to sanitize her hands before handling my order... When the owner came out of the backroom and I explained the situation... His response was that if I didn't like the service I shouldn't bother returning. Needless to say I never did. read more

Honestly not great. The food is subpar and even worse customer service. Almost every time I am in there, there the same girl with the glasses and bad nose ring working and she's not pleasant and super fake. She's rude to customers then goes back to the kitchen to bash the cooks or talk trash about other customers and make fun of orders. Also the place is DIRTY! I've seen bugs in the drink cooler, overflowing trash, sweaty cooks without hats/gloves. The floor is clearly not washed every night. From the counter you can see an overfilled trash can right in front of the sink and trash landing in said sink. There is also no heat. It's freezing in the winter. The girls at the counter also handle the sliced cheese right up at the counter next to the money and other dirty things. The food is never consistent. Sometimes my fries are too done sometimes undercooked. The milkshakes are always super thin and half blended. Don't get the chocolate one cuz it NEVER tastes like it. For $5 I want my shake to taste like what I ordered. And don't get me started about delivery. The Drivers are never there when they say and the food is always so cold and soggy. Half the time they forget things like drinks, or sides. And the drivers are not friendly. Especially the girls. One time in the pouring rain the girl with dark hair made me walk all the way to her car from Wiley, while she say in her dry car texting. I've given albies more than enough chances and I'm finally giving up because their service has yet to improve. It's sad read more
