What a cute beautiful place. Very girlie for girls night out or even a date night. It was a Thursday night during their soft opening, so there was no belly dancing. They did have a violinist playing and it wasn't too loud. Loved it. The service was good, we had an amazing waiter that tended to our party of 9 all night. I wish he had some help though for such a large party. The food is great, love the hummus and blue fin tar tar. Octopus was good as well, little bland. Another drink I enjoyed was the baklava OF. The server was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had the fattoush salad, octopus, feta dumplings, and tuna tartar. My fave was the octopus. While the food we had at Albi was good, the service at Albi was just so bad that we only stayed for appetizers and drinks and then left to go to another restaurant to have dinner. While we had a reservation for four people, they tried to seat us a a table for three. When we pointed out the issue, the hostess got super flustered and tried to say she'd just pull up a fourth chair to a table that was pretty tiny--it was a really awkward exchange. Then, as she left our table, she told us we had two hours to dine and then needed to leave...pretty weird being put on a shot clock right before we planned to spend a lot of money on drinks and dinner. After being seated (and getting our 2-hour timer started apparently), we waited 10 minutes, but no server appeared to offer us water or get our drink order. So we flagged down another server, who, instead of offering to help us herself, said she's find our server. To be fair, the food was pretty good--I really liked the bread service (which is off-menu), and the feta dumplings were good too (though they're actually more like gnocchi than dumplings). But the food wasn't enough to keep us there for dinner with such bad service, so we left after appetizers. read more

The entertainment was a fun twist. The belly dancer made her way through the restaurant and then the stage for a sword performance. To work on Walking in, I believe there should always be a host downstairs to welcome guests, it was a little disorienting to open the door to an empty space and stairs. We ordered a $60 bottle of wine from the menu , which we were told was no longer available. Instead, we were offered a $100 bottle. I think this was quite the jump and to not have any bottles in our range felt strange for how early in the evening we were...we felt like we were trying to be upsold which left a bitter feeling. It's not bad but I think for the price it should have been better. There is belly dancing at 8:30 pm when we were there on a Saturday. The belly dancer is really sweet. However I think the stage needs more lighting since it was still pretty dark even though they tried to have some lights on the stage. I think it's a nice place to hang out and Houston doesn't have too many places with food and entertainment. I have eaten here twice, both dinners. One was a friend taking me out, the other was a birthday party for a friend of ours. A few of the dishes / appetizers i remember are Beef Blend Kefta, Beef Tartar, Fatoush, Grilled Octupus. All of the appetizers we ordered seconds during the birthday party. We didn't drink. Sober group. And I don't drink really at least not with meals. The service was amazing, the food was amazing, the atmosphere is nice like a night club rather than a restaurant. Very luxurious setting. The desserts were great: Pistachio Tiramisu, lemon tart, chocolate something I don't remember but I remember how it tasted --divine. It was a Saturday night, belly dancer was on duty. I believe they have live DJ playing music regularly if not every night. It gets a little loud, so don't take a business partner here. A date may be ok, but not a first date, take people you already know well here. You won't be talking much and making mouthgasm noises mostly. This is a pricey meal if you are hungry, the appetizers come in small portions, if you are adamant to be full when you get up from the table you will keep ordering and it will rack up the total. We tried out Albi last night for our friend's birthday. Valet is complimentary, which is a pleasant surprise. Strongly recommend making reservation ahead of time. The decor is trendy and elaborate. The ambiance is upscale but not stuffy. They have dancers performing on the small stage upfront as well as a DJ. The atmosphere is lively on a Friday night. The service is wonderful. Our wait staff is very knowledgeable of the menu and made awesome recommendations. Albi has a sommelier 3 on staff. He walked us through the wine tasting process and it was a fun experience. We ordered the majority of the items on the appetizers menu and every single one was excellent. The hummus was warm and fresh. The wagyu and the tuna tartar was my favorite - very fresh and flavorful. For the main dish, I highly recommend the jadori chicken. It is very tender and flavorful. Walking in you have to go upstairs to get to the restaurant where you're greeted at the host stand, they were polite, welcoming and quick to get us seated. Our waiter, Munir, was very attentive. Met up with some girlfriends for dinner on a Thursday night. Parking is valet, but there's plenty of street parking around the restaurant. I was greeted at the door by a friendly doorman who knew what party I was headed to meet (probably because the others arrived just before me). He lead me into the elevator that took me up to the restaurant on the second floor. The restaurant was very chic and gave off "LA lounge" vibes. The waiter warmly greeted us at the table and brought us our first round of very innovative cocktails - the Baklava OF, Lebanese G&T, and their house made spicy tequila cocktail that was new to the menu. All the drinks were unique and embraced Mediterranean spices and flavors. We started off dinner with the bread service, which consisted of a variety of different breads and two spreads. This was followed by the Bluefin Tuna Tartare, which was beautiful and flavorful, the Albi Fattoush salad, which was refreshing with a surprise crunch, the feta dumpling, little pockets of pillowy bites... reminded me of gnocchi, and the grilled octopus, which deserves its own sentence. I am very picky about how octopus is cooked because I can't stand an overcook, rubbery octopus and this was perfect - tender with a slightly crispy char.
