    Potato Croquettes
    Bryan V.

Came here on a Thursday evening and it was quite packed... Their dedicated parking lot was full so I opted to pay for valet. Once I got inside, it was pretty crowded and loud. I definitely wouldn't recommend coming here if you were looking for an intimate date spot. I was luckily able to secure a small table. I ordered some light bites: the potato croquettes and eggplant tempura. The croquettes were standard but I enjoyed the eggplant! It was very crispy and had a tasty tomato sauce on top. I tried the Time Out of Mind cocktail... it wasn't for me personally. A bit too strong and not very delicious... There was also live music playing by the time I got my food. Good vibes, but very loud! It's hard to have a conversation when they play so definitely keep that in mind. The best part about this place is probably getting to see the sunset from their patio. Definitely come here if you're looking for more of a lively atmosphere from a bar.

I first learned about Echoes a few months ago when I attended a coquito bartending competition (sadly, their bartender didn't win). Shortly after that, I discovered that they were participating in Eat Drink HTX (i.e. the mini version of HRW) so my good friend Helene and I decided to have brunch. They have a small parking lot in front of the restaurant. There's street parking in the neighborhood as well as a free parking lot across the street. The lot is moderate in size and there was plenty of parking at the time of our visit. The cafe is located on the 2nd floor. There is an elevator if you aren't able to take the stairs. The dining room is small and quaint. There's also seating on their covered balcony. Our server was Benazir and she was extremely nice. We were already aware of the EDH menu, but she made a point to mention it to us which I appreciated. The EDH brunch menu was $15 and it came with two courses. I had the Echoes Potatoes and Greek Omelette. The Echoes Potatoes were phenomenal! The feta and lemon aioli elevated the appetizer. The Greek Omelette was tasty as well and the portion was great. Both courses were brought out at the same time which was perfect because the flavors of the potatoes complimented the omelette. I tried some of Helene's Spanokopita and Souvalaki Plate and both were tasty! The spanokopita was so flaky and buttery and the spinach and feta filling was delicious. Helene was able to order one salmon and one chicken skewer on her souvalaki plate. I tasted the salmon and it was so good! It had a slight char to it which I really liked. They have an interesting cocktail menu, but I went with a bellini and a mimosa since it was brunch. The bellini wasn't quite as sweet as I was expecting. If you don't want alcohol, they have zero proof drinks as well as coffee and fresh squeezed juices. Dinner is served until 10pm and they have specials like steak night and Taco Tuesday. They also have live music in the evenings. Happy hour is Tues - Sat and they even do reverse happy hour specials on Tues-Thurs, and Sunday from 11p-2a. Perfect for night owls!

Because sometimes you just need to chill over Sunday brunch with a good friend. Love the Eat, Drink, HTX menus. It is like the little sister to Houston Restaurant Week. Brunch is such a good deal at $15 for an appetizer and an entree. Lots of great choices on the Echoes Cafe menu. Met my good friend, Tiffany, for a nice brunch. We ordered a variety of appetizers and entrees. Benazir gave us recommendations and VIP service. For starters, the Echoes Potatoes are so delicious. Potatoes topped with feta cheese, parsley and dill with a lemon aioli sauce. Spanakopita is a savory Greek pastry filled with spinach and feta cheese wrapped in a phyllo dough. They are served as three pastries. For the souvlaki plate, I got a salmon skewer and a chicken skewer. They are served over a bed of crispy French fries with pita, a tomato and onion salad with a side of tzatziki. A delightful taste of Greece. Tiffany got the Greek omelette. Filled with tomatoes, onion, peppers and feta cheese, it was so delicious. Located on the second floor, there is an oversized outdoor balcony perfect for a nice sunny day. Love the natural lighting as there are so many windows. Not too crowded on a Sunday afternoon. Lots of parking in the lot across the street on Richmond. Thanks again to Benazir for the 5-star service. A great choice on the Eat, Drink, HTX menu. Available until February 28.

Stopped by for happy hour (TUESDAY-SATURDAY 4-7pm, All Cocktails $9, 50% Off Wine Bottles) to try out some of Echoes' many creative cocktail recipes while enjoying the Rise Rotation Revolution Celebrating Gil Scott-Heron and Herb Alpert. Today, I tried the Timbiriche, made of Kumquat-infused Haku Vodka, Mal Bien Joven Mezcal, Carabuena Añejo Tequila, Mole Bitters, Orange Bitters. My friends tried the MOONLIGHT FLIGHT )Suntori Toki, Italicus, Lemon, Creme De Violette) and UNTITLED EP #1 (Makers 46, Jim Bean Black, Grapefruit-Sage-Juniper Shrub). Always a great time at Echoes!

Came across this establishment scrolling IG they have live music certain nights different genres, open wed-Sunday. My gal pals and I decided to meet for HH on a Wednesday. Parking limited right in front of building I believe valet is available after a certain time but there is free parking across the street . The cafe it self is upstairs (a lift is available) very simple decor patio is really nice. HH starts at 4 but the kitchen doesn't open until 5. Food was great the HH drink specials decent but still range about 9$ or more. Half of wine bottles. I had the salmon skewers that I'd definitely order again seasoned and juicy !! The other ladies had tacos which both gave 10/10 and said would order again. The fried zucchini I'd wish was a little thicker but I thought was all good just not enough zucchini for me. All in all I' will definitely be back.

Friday night I heard the music and I decided to stop in. There was parking along the street and a small lot as well with about 10-12 spots. Downstairs was a relaxed Latin vibe with outdoor seating and upstairs was a bar with a dj playing 90s deep cuts. The place wasn't packed and there was plenty of seating at the bar and on the balcony. A easy relaxed environment that allows for conversation and mellow vibes.

A few friends had mentioned they were interested in trying out this restaurant/bar and since we couldn't find anyway to make a reservation online (nobody answered when we tried to call) we figured we'd just show up. Upon arrival, we noted this location has a parking lot across the street and there is limited street parking. It's also important to note it's on the second floor. The elevator was out of order so if you have someone who's handicap in your party I'd recommend calling in advance to ensure accessibility. We were able to sit immediately upon arrival, but elected to be outside as it's quite noisy inside and there was a live band setting up too. We figured we'd be unable to hear ourselves talk if we stayed inside. Food and Drink - 3.5* We chose the trio of dips and smoked eggplant tempura for appetizers. Both were good, but nothing overly impressive. For main dishes our party chose the ribeye tacos, souvlaki plate, and roasted shrimp pasta. We enjoyed each, but the ribeye tacos were notably the favorite. The drinks were all great, with the gin and tonics being the hits of the table. Service - 4.5* Since we sat out on the patio, there was far less people given the cooler temperatures, which led to a bit longer of a wait to get food or drink orders. That said, the bartender, who was doubling as our server, was attentive to our needs. He seemed incredibly busy given how much was going on inside. Cost - 4* Again, always subjective, but in my view the pricing here was a plus. All the dishes and drinks were priced well, nothing overtly exorbitant. Overall - 3.5* I'd put this at 3.5*, but with the drinks and service I'll give it the edge to 4*. I don't think we'd come here again just to eat unless it was for a quick bite, but it is worth a visit for drinks and live music if that's something you're looking for.

Most people come here for the drinks, but the food is also really good. I've been for brunch and dinner. We've had the Echoes potatoes, the octopus, and the shrimp pasta. All were very tasty. And yes the drinks are good. This place is a vibe too. The rooftop is perfect. Will definitely return.

My husband and I live close and decided to have a date night here the other evening. We wondered why we hadn't been before! We came right at the tail end of happy hour and ordered ourselves the three dip trio and two of their house cocktails. The service was great- all of the workers there were very kind. Shoutout the the manager, Nate, and Jackson. Everyone was so kind to us, the food was delicious and so were the drinks. We left before the live music at 9PM, but thoroughly enjoyed our time there and will definitely be back again!

Seeing the jazz / funk band perform is what brought me to Echoes

Echoes exceeded expectations. The atmosphere provided excellent ambiance. The pleasant cool spring like weather played a huge part in that, with open space patio to interior. The kitchen produced a superb beet salad and the spanakopita and "Greek lasagna" (I forget what the proper name for it is) proved the chef can satisfy the hungry music lover. The staff attended well to all aspects of maintaining an atmosphere for live music and gathering space for friends & fellows.

First, the vibe. It is warm, stylish, and very Montrose in the best way. It feels elevated but still relaxed enough to just sit, talk, and enjoy your time without feeling rushed. We came during happy hour and it was such a great deal. I ordered the Sweet Like Peach Tree, which was light, refreshing, and perfectly balanced with the peach and ginger. My husband got the Frozen Paloma and it was just as good, super smooth with the right citrus bite. We also shared the churros and they were honestly a must order. Warm, crispy, and paired with Nutella and caramel. What really made the experience stand out though was our bartender, Manny. He was incredibly welcoming from the moment we sat down, had such a great personality, and made the whole experience feel personal. You can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does, and that kind of service is hard to find. He also told us about their upcoming two year anniversary party on May 3rd with rotating live DJs, which sounds like it will be such a fun time. We will definitely be back. Considering the recent shutter of other places (#2) within the hospitality umbrella, it's not too big of a surprise that Wooster's would also be in the crosshairs. The space was always a nice mix of indoor and outdoor seating, which combined with its dedicated parking lot made this an easy drinking outlet for all kinds of occasions. The intimate indoor space was lovely and well ventilated, and it felt like there wasn't ever a moment where the bar wasn't slammed. The outdoor space was much of the same, with lots of tables and chairs, and even the trendy swing chairs facing the city. The only thing that was a little bit of a liability were those open flame heaters; it would only take on person to accidentally walk into one or trip onto it. For libations, the drinks were well priced, well made, and always potent. I appreciated the aesthetics, as well as the bartenders who made them. The only part that wasn't exciting was the limited food menu, which did its part as munchies for the drink heavy crowd, but was mediocre otherwise. The space is already undergoing the new facelift of a separate concept, one of which I hope will do the area justice, just as much as Wooster's did. ____________ (#1) The Kirby Group. (#2) R.I.P. Cocktails arrive balanced and deliberate, built by hands that understand restraint as much as flair. Nothing shouts. Nothing apologizes. Each glass feels considered, as though the bartender paused just long enough to ask what kind of night you were hoping to have, then answered without speaking. The staff moves easily, quick with wit and generous with attention, treating regulars and first-timers as if both had already earned their place. The decor tells its own quiet rebellion. I went because this was the only bar open during Labor Day when I had guest visiting. So I would say it's a pretty nice location, considering the fact that it is always consistently open. It looks like the drink that I ordered is also no longer on the menu. The bar prides itself on having a rotating meal changing menu so I think that's a lot of fun when it comes to trying new drinks and new combinations and it truly shows the artistry of the bartender. There was the option of both indoor and outdoor seating. The interior was more of a dimmer, elegant and darker tone. I can see it being pretty classic if you were to go at night time. The bar set up was really beautiful and they had different 2 to 4 seating wooden tables. Overall, the inside would probably only fit around 20 people. I was very sad because we couldn't sit outside. For a fancy hotel, you expect better. Maybe sitting at the bar is better than sitting at some seats as we did. Ambiance (4/5): The Colombe d'Or is a beautiful hotel and Bar No. 3 reflects that. It's an elegant spot to grab a drink, although small. Food (N/A): While there are expensive items on the menu, I had dinner earlier that night so I was on a liquid diet. Drinks (3/5): Bar No. 3 is known for its cocktails so I focused on the cocktail list. The list isn't large but it features a nice selection. Like the food, you're going to pay a premium. I enjoyed my adult beverage but felt like it was a bit overpriced. Hitting up hotel bars isn't a common occurrence in Houston unless you're a traveler.
