Default location. If you shop here regularly, it's probably just because it is the default grocery store closest to wherever you live...you probably live in Orange Hills or the canyons and this shopping center is the closest bit of civilization/retail near you. That is why I shopped here and that is the only reason I can see as to why anyone would come here with any regularity. Item selection is poor if you are not into buying mainstream, non-organic, GMO foods. Customer service is absent and borderline rude. All the times we've taken the streets home from Irvine and passed this Albertsons we finally stopped in! This location is huge!! Me and my mom were blown away when we saw how big this store is! I was able to find things that I wouldn't normally be able to find at usual store! There are 2 points why I can't give them 5 stars :( -No wing bar! I'm an avid wing lover and couldn't find a wing bar!! -Seafood selection is soooo tiny! My mom and ATG love Salmon and they didn't have many pieces and selections of seafood for a big store! My mom bought 4 pieces of fish and the display looked empty after she bought the fish! However, upon checking out at the self serve lanes, a nice cashier was so friendly and helpful to us! Stopped in at the floral department in a whim and SYLVIA totally fixed it and refused money. She was a life/prom saver! This review is for their bakery. I had ordered a birthday cake for my son's 1st birthday party and the cake was delicious!!! The party was on Christmas day, but not only did they deliver on time, the cake, cupcakes (also ordered those) and the little cake for the birthday boy were all made with perfection and were ready to be picked up on time. Everyone loved the cake and could tell the ingredients that were used were fresh. It was not too sweet, it was just perfect. Highly recommend this bakery. :) read more

This review is based solely on the brisket I purchased yesterday. I was in a rush and thought, how bad could a brisket from Albertsons be for the smoking I planned to do the following morning. Well, it's bad...real bad. The brisket in the package looked decent, even had a not too thick fat cap; however, when I started to trim the fat, I noticed that easily 1/2 of the 'meat' was fat. Because I had to split the brisket in order to get it into the smoker, I noticed that over half of the inside was fat. I never would have noticed this if I didn't do a split. When it was all said and done, my 10.3 lb brisket now weighed 5.2 lbs...yes, I weighed it. This store may be fine for 'grocery' items, but not for meat. read more

Compared to the other Albertsons I've been to, this one looks smaller. It only has one entrance. But it's still nice. It has the same offerings as any other Albertsons, but everything just looks more squished together with less open space. They even have soda can art inside like the other ones. It has self checkouts too. read more

This Albertsons has the best meat department ever. Taylor and Hector have both helped me on numerous occasions. Hector used a rub they have in the back on some meat for me and it came out amazing. I went back in and mentioned it to Taylor and he got a big thing of seasoning for me to purchase. I just finished smoking a tri tip using it, and came out amazing thanks to them. read more

I went to the liquor department to buy some wine and liquor and Guy (the department manager) was very helpful and knowledgeable! They have a wonderful selection of wines to choose from. read more

I have been going to this supermarket because it is close to where I live. I do not think I will returning. On Monday, I bought some chili. I forgot to look at the expiration date. When I got home, it expired May 2014. It is July right now. The first time I visited this supermarket, I actually saw moldy pre-made pizza dough hanging on the shelf. Gross! Another time I visited, the small red tomatoes were green and fuzzy in the case. I gave it to the produce guy to throw away. And now the chili. I supppose it is my fault that I did not check the date but do supermarkets not check the dates also? How is it possible that something can be a couple of months expired or moldy? read more

Don't normally shop at Albertsons, but was in the area and needed to quickly pick up a couple of things for a 4th of July party. Was having trouble finding what I was looking for, so I asked one of the workers. Walter saw my list, and within minutes I had everything. Walter was by far the most helpful, personable, and happy grocery store worker I have ever encountered. He was even the one who bagged my groceries. Walter's service was 5stars for sure, but the overall selection was average at best. read more

Needed help from Cornelius to find an item not on the shelf, couldn't be bothered to scan something with his Telzon 10 ft down an aisle for me "if it ain't there we don't have it". So I found another gal, (young Asian and didn't have a name badge) she asked a cashier and told me "if it's not there we don't have it". Neither scanned the item or checked the back. For ten years I have been buying my Passover Seder food items such as the basics like matzo ball soup mix and matzah. To my dismay, there was not one Passover or even Jewish/Kosher item in the store. Aisle three which is supposed to have Kosher items did not have one item! I asked the store manager and all he could say was, "Sorry, we didn't receive any items this year." I said to him how would he feel if there was not one Easter item. I had a full cart of at least $200 worth of food that I told the manager I was leaving behind in the cart and would never set foot in the store again. The manager did not even try to appease me by saying, "Because we are sorry and value your business, here is a gift card on us." So poorly treated and beyond offended. Shame on Albertsons on Jamboree and Champman which mind you is only five miles away from Temple Beth Sholom. read more

24/100 I don't normally shop at Albertsons but this one is on the way so I stopped by to grab something for breakfast. This store is clean and huge. They now bake fresh bagels. It is a perfect way to start the morning with a box of hot fresh baked bagels. The smell that was coming from bakery at 7 A.M. was amazing. I am hooked. My favorite is Cinnamon/raisin and regular. They have great selection of cream cheese to make it a perfect breakfast. On unrelated note, they have great Root Beer "Teddy's." Whenever I buy it, my family swears it is the best they ever tasted. read more

Since they took out the self check out stations, remodeled/rearranged everything in the store (so you can't find anything); raised prices and keep temperatures below freezing, it is no longer an enjoyable experience shopping at this Albertsons. Although it has been my local market for many years, I am looking elsewhere. Also, they ought to do something about the "new" Starbucks that they opened in the store--pitiful customer service. I generally like to do most of my shopping at Trader Joe's, but when I just need a couple items, or something that Trader Joe's doesn't carry, then I have really liked coming here--in the past. I say "in the past" because a couple Mondays ago something annoyed me enough that I will most likely avoid coming here when I can. For me, it started going downhill when they took out the self-checkout lanes. Services are just too individualized to take out that option now. Since I used to come in for just a couple items, I found it very convenient not to have to stand in line. When they took those out, I asked them why they did and I was told they wanted their customers to have a more human experience, or something like that. It's a very scripted answer, but I figured maybe they're having problems with shoplifters and/or they have to justify the exorbitant prices they charge since everything is union. You better add some superior quality and customer service. I get that. But you have to understand that extends to everyone in the store. They better be on their game all the time. A couple Mondays ago it was SO HOT that I didn't want to go all the way to Trader Joe's and decided to do more shopping than just two items. Employees stocking in the aisles were very friendly and helped me find items I was looking for, (since things are somewhat being rearranged for a remodel). But when I went to check out, my avocados rang up $1.99 each and I told the cashier the sign said next to them that they were 2 for $3. She immediately got on the phone and told someone to remove the sign like there was some kind of panic. She then proceeded to act like she was doing me a gigantic favor in allowing me to puchase them for what the sign said. It's just a bad business model to set up an adversarial relationship between business and customer, as if I was in the wrong. It would have been better to graciously give me the price that was stated and wait until I left the line to make the call. Or, at least remove the attitude and show with which the call was made. The prices paid in this store, accompanied with attitude, just don't fly with me. It's unfortunate. read more

I bought tilapia from their seafood counter. It was spoiled, and I got food poisoning almost immediately afterwards. I spent the whole rest of my day getting sick. I tried calling their location to let them know, but no one answered the phone any of the many times I tried to call. Who knows how many more people became sick because of this. Absolutely disgusting. Also, this place is very overpriced for what it is. Avoid at all costs. read more

I have gone to this store forever (since it was built), but after the sale of the market, prices have spiraled upward dramatically. I paid $3.89 for 5 lbs. of C&H sugar last week. Ralphs sells the same thing for a full dollar cheaper, and has an off brand for $1.77. Ralph's is cheaper on just about everything, so I now shop at the Ralph's in Foothill Ranch. Sort of sad as I have known some of the employees for years. Just about everyone I know has switched from this market to another. It's too bad, too. It's clean and well stocked. read more
