I've been coming here for years, and this is the nicest Stater Bros with the nicest people. First of all, the store is well designed and always clean and well-maintained. They have a nice deli, sushi station, freshly cut fruit selection, etc. It's much more upscale feeling than I'd expect from the outside. The meat is excellent, and the butchers are knowledgeable and helpful. They have helped us with many a special order over the years, and when we have guests over, people often compliment our meat and ask where it's from! The best part about this store is the employees, who are helpful, friendly, and clearly take pride in their work. Many of the same people have been there for the many years we've been shopping here, and their experience shows in the quality of service. You'll often see the managers walking around and helping out, and if you look like you need assistance, someone is sure to jump in! read more

Updating my review since it's been a while since I did the last one. Adding an extra star for the couple of cashiers that make an effort to have a little personality - a little interaction goes a long way for me - we go there often enough so they will recognize us and say 'Hi' - and the butcher staff are always friendly, they'll greet us with a smile, and will wish us a nice day - but other than that, customer service of courtesy clerks and others throughout the store haven't really changed. It feels like if they don't make eye contact, they don't need to interact with us. Today we happened to go to the market early, and we spotted some chicken pot pies where they keep their cooked chickens. They were only $5.99 so we didn't really have much expectations, but we got one to try. When we were checking out - the cashier asked us if we had ever tried the chicken pot pie and we told her we hadn't. She said they were really good and that we would definitely be back to get it again. Well, she was right! It was pretty good for the price - it had a lot of chunks of chicken breast, plus peas and carrots (probably the pre-frozen type), the gravy was good and the crust was real flaky. So happy about how our Mario themed cake turned out!! I went to stater bros with cake toppers hoping I can get a simple cake that's red, blue, green and yellow to match my toppers. The lady at the counter showed me a couple of pictures of Mario themed cake to see if I was interested in any of those. I decided on one and it came out better than I could imagine! Everyone complimented us on the cake and most importantly my son was very happy when he saw it! The service was awesome and the cake was delicious and affordable. Five stars! I was on the hunt for a plain white cake at the eleventh hour. This was my last chance at a market to find what I needed. The woman at the bakery counter, total ROCKSTAR (wish I would've asked her name). She asked if I had 5 minutes and what flavor cake I wanted. I have been going to this stater bros for years now. I order my groceries online and use the pick-up service every week. I have gotten Angelica as my personal shopper dozens of times and she is absolutely fantastic! She is a great communicator and always tries to accommodate to my food preferences on my orders. She also always picks great substitutions if they don't have what I originally ordered. She brings my orders out quickly after I arrive and is always incredibly friendly and thoughtful. I would like to write this review to formally thank the team members at this location for a wonderful customer service experience. This week, I had forgotten about St. Patrick's Day and my son brought up on Tuesday night during dinner that we didn't have corned beef this year. I told my son I'd go check the neighborhood Stater Bros. Markets to see if they had any left. On Wednesday at around 1:15pm, I went to the store and did not see any corned beef displayed so I asked the gentleman at the meat counter if there were any left. He told me that the store had sold out of them. I told him about forgetting it was St. Patrick's week and he immediately proceeded to tell me that he would have a case ordered for me that would arrive the next day. He asked a lady who was also there to place the order and they told me I can call the next day to see if the case has arrived. On Thursday, I called the store and the person who answered the phone checked the back and let me know that there was a case of corned beef available. I went to the store and the two gentlemen at the meat counter went to get the corned beef from the back and priced it out for me to purchase. I want to commend the team for providing such exceptional customer service. Service like this is hard to find and it is service like this that make people want to go back to your store. I love coming to this Stater Brothers. The aisles are nicely set up and stocked. They have a deli, bakery, and sushi bar. They will make sandwiches and platters for you in the deli (made to order) that are fresh and tasty. The sushi bar now includes boba drinks. As for their meat department, they even cut the skin off of my fresh salmon for me! Wow! Fabulous checkers for customer service! I see familiar faces for years which tells me they must treat their employees well or they wouldn't stay. The manager has longevity and is very kind. Thank you to Tony in the meat department for the awesome service! I originally placed an order with him upon arrival to be completed by Thursday. Because of my haste, I forgot that I couldn't get the ad price which ends today. He stated that he could check what the store had which gave me a glimmer of hope. CHECK YOUR CASES OF WATER I love this store, but am so upset. I keep a case of SB water in the backseat of my car. I went to open it, and the entire bottom under the bottles was a candy/soda (?) nightmare. Some type of sugary syrup was at the bottom. All the bottles were stuck to the bottom, and the ones I was able to use, I had to wipe with rubbing alcohol to not have it leave a sticky mess on anything I put the bottle down on. Ok, I can deal with that. The thing I'm most upset is the upholstery in my backseat is RUINED. I have no idea how I'm going to clean this, you can't sit on it it's like sitting on sap or a pile of melted caramel. So disappointed because they had to either smell it or feel it when stocking the shelf. This store owes me a car detail and a new case of water. read more

This is my favorite Stater Brothers. This location is very clean and you can tell it takes pride on appearance, which makes fabulous. The produce section I wish some produce would better on quality and bigger expectations. Recently, cucumbers, green beans, celery and few others quality isn't great. Hope this can improve. The butchers are so helpful and are prompt. Greats selection of protein. The cashiers are so friendly and always suggest to help me to assist me, with my groceries. The one thing I get upset at myself is my bags! I always forget. So don't forget your bags. They have sushi location as soon you walk in, will be to the right. The produce section has 2 team members cutting fruit and placing them in containers. They do have a mini bakery but they have a baker to assist. As soon as you walk they have best tortillas I've ever had! Flour and corn! Different sizes. The team that I encountered with are so kind and helpful. One person I wish I knew his name but he is a young Caucasian male, with ash blonde curly a bit long hair, gets the carts. He is so helpful! Complete hands on! He might putting carts away, but he is aware of his surroundings. He will notice who needs a hand and will assist. He has helped me so many times and I'm very grateful for the service he gives. Main issue with this place is the long checkout lines. Especially in the morning if you're just trying to grab 1 quick thing. A couple self checkout lines would do wonder.. Ashleigh the cashier overheard me saying this to a customer in line and took it personal. Noticed rolling her eyes and then she opened her mouth. It sounded like moooooo. I tried explaining that in no way was I insinuating she was slow or bad at her job.. But some people with blue highlights in their hair like to take things personal.. I go in just to browse and to kill time. Today I was looking at their display of seafood (salmon, fillets, shrimp, etc) and raw meat at the meat section. While more limited of different kinds of seafood, I was mildly impressed with the selection and display of the meat section and the seafood.. and the prices seemed fair to me to the quality and quality of the item(s). I did not buy anything this time but I like what I saw. Also, what nailed a positive experience for me is when I was just browsing the raw meat (steaks, t-bones, pork, bellies, etc, etc) and raw seafood, I was asked three times by three different employees behind the counters if I needed any help with anything, when I was just browsing. So I think it's cool that the employees working to meet and seafood section between 6:00 and 6:30 p.m. on July 30th, 2023 were attentive even though I was not looking to buy. So I think that deserves praise. read more

First of all, this big market has only a few handicapped parking spaces. They have removed several spaces and made than into "Grocery Pickup ". People who picks up groceries are driving and it is the employees who bring them their groceries. They can park farther away ! I had to circle this market several times because all the 3 or 4 spots for handicapped has been taken. It sure doesn't make any sense I will report this to the DMV . This morning 12/11/24 I received my weekly add and found Rib eye roast on sale and went to my La Habra store. When I asked the butcher if he would steak me out a couple of 1 1/2" cowboy steaks out of it he told me I would have to buy a whole pre cut roast and pay a steak price. As I explained to him this has never be a problem in the past. He then literally walked to the band saw where there was a roast sitting next to it and 10 seconds later he had two prepared for me. I feel like Stater Bros is like a budget hotel in the grocery store arena. When I'm visiting my grandparents in Orange, I always go to Stater Bros to pick up whatever is needed. Probably for sentimental reasons, my family for generations always went there, my aunt and her husband met working there etc etc. Anyways, they are like a budget hotel in the sense that you'll be able to get all you basic needs but you won't get the super high end brands etc. If you're looking for basic esssentials, you're totally fine. If you're looking for more fancy name brand cheeses etc, probably not going to find it. I will say, 95% of the time I've gone, the employees are very nice and helpful. The produce is always good and pretty well stocked. Annnnndddd o can't forget to mention their delicious giant dro pickles that are amazing! I do most of my shopping at this store. The prices are lower than Albertsons and the people who work there are nice. The meat department is really good. However, the produce leaves a lot to be desired. I'm constantly disappointed, especially with their avocados and melons. I suspect it's less than Grade A they're getting. The russet potatoes always have black spots in them (you can't tell from the outside) and if you can find bananas that aren't bruised you're lucky. read more

I came here on Saturday to buy Porterhouse steak advertised for $8.99 lb. The meat counter was empty when I arrived. I only wanted one steak - none was available at the counter and there was a discounted one in the meat section (that looked brown and old).! The nearby cooler had pre packaged ones, but with two steaks. I asked the young guy at the counter and after he checked all the areas again, went and asked two other men. The second one said he would help me after cutting up chicken for another customer. This is the 2nd time I've had issues with Stater Bros meat counter (the other at the Anaheim location) with helping customers. Why DO I HAVE TO WAIT FOR ANOTHER PERSON TO HELP ME WHEN YOU HAVE TWO GUYS STANDING THERE? Let me tell you, Stater Bros management, that I go to the deli counter at Albertsons down the street weekly. Jan works there in the morning and she stops or has someone else helping customers immediately. We are NOT on your schedule. Train your MALE employees with better customer service! I don't know if it's some bullshit machismo crap, the manager taking one steak out of a package and repacking it for the customer. But i have been here in the past later on holiday days because I forgot a key ingredient for the big meal. This time I was headed home and wanted to pick up some steaks, and I knew that my usual spots didn't have any sales going on, so I figured, why not? I am glad I did. Their claim to fame is the meat department, and they do have a much bigger selection that the other local markets.
