Been coming here over 20 years. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The recent pick up service is great. Jack who is on the pick up team is an asset to this place. Julie is the worst manager of all time. I grew up here, frequent this store, go inside and pickup, and order pickup many times a week. Ever since Julie took over this place has fallen into disarray. Completely mismanaged. Julie chases around thieves, while letting paying customers get the shaft by having zero attention to detail. She gets worked up and focused on one thing, only to allow her team to mislabel items, have expired food on the shelves, mix in boneless and bone in items on the shelf, leave pickup orders to go far past the ready time. Absolutely terrible place. Julie has no control over the details. I will frequently pull something off the shelf, clearly placed under a sales tag, only to arrive at the register and see it's not a sale price. Julie then puts the blame on the customer for not checking the tag and verifying the mark down price, like it's my fault they put food under a sales tag when it wasn't. It's a mess here and Albertsons looks away. Replace Julie and make this Albertsons great again read more

DECEPTIVE PRICING - BEWARE! The Manager spoken with was Julie! This Albertsons engages in misleading pricing tactics! MULTIPLE times now, I've been MISLEAD into buying steaks/poultry items that were placed directly next to a big SALE sign, only to find out at checkout, when using the ALBERTSONS APP and phone number, that they weren't actually on sale. Most recently, they did this with bone-in vs. boneless ribeye--only the bone-in was discounted, but they placed them together under the sale sign. They pulled the same stunt during the holidays with prime rib. When I confronted the "Manager" Julie about this shady practice, her response? "Oh well, it's still a good price." Excuse me? The issue isn't whether it's a "good price"--it's that the display is INTENTIONALLY MISLEADING. It would be incredibly easy to separate the sale items from the non-sale ones, but apparently, they'd rather trick customers into overpaying and hope you get through checkout not noticing the prove didn't come down when using the Albertsons app and phone number. To make matters worse, their produce is awful. Half of it looks like it's on the verge of expiring. I've had to dig through wilted greens, mushy berries, and bruised fruit just to find something decent. FIFO is one thing but a manager should train produce and butcher employees better to prevent this poor product and sale scheme. Bottom line: I do NOT recommend this store. There are plenty of other places to shop where you won't have to double-check whether you're being deceived at checkout. Julie is the manager and she doesn't give two thoughts about what you think. Her store is falling apart and they have parking lot cameras here to stop thieves, well the only thief here is Albertsons and Julie ripping off people again the register hoping they don't notice their food isn't getting the coupon at checkout. This use to be my home store but we moved to the other side of Orange a few years ago. I've been in the neighborhood more often in the last few months and so I've been shopping here. Its a grocery store. Prices are ok, not the greatest. Flowers are way overpriced. Management here sucks except for one hispanic manager. The rest are unfriendly and can tell they have been working there too long and hate their job. It seems like they like to pick and choose who they provide good customer service to. I dont even bother using the regular check out lines to avoid the eye rolls and annoyed faces by all the cashiers. I prefer self check out, but even then, the person overseeing the self check out stands picks and chooses who they monitor more and people of color seem to be their target. read more

Can someone, anyone, help me? I've been in 3 times looking for 1 item. Everyone gives me a different answer. No one is willing to look. Their only solution is for me to spend a fortune to order the item instead. I know what I'm looking for is in stock but was put in the back when the freezer broke. All of the other items in the freezer have since been put back but the one thing I'm trying to get. But no one wants to go look for it. Way too expensive! Honestly I can't think of anything I like to get at Albertson's or Vons. Sometimes soft drinks and alcohol are on sale here. But other stores are usually cheaper. Check weekly ads online. I like to shop at Grocery Outlet, Sprouts, Trader Joe's, Stater Bros., Smart & Final, Walmart, and Target for various things. I plan trips and compare all weekly ads. I am glad Albertson's is no longer merging with Kroger, one of the three companies I dislike the most with GM and Nissan automobiles (GM is evil and Nissan is racist). read more

I come here every Monday for one reason (aside from the $8.99 meal deal), and her name is MARGARITA!! She is awesome!! She's always happy to help me no matter what time on Monday I come in. She's so nice and always gives me the best and juiciest pieces of meat. I always order the mango habanero meat and today, I had to order two because the chicken just looked so good. We usually pick up small items at this store. I personally have never had a bad experience here. The cashiers are always friendly and they do greet you. I've read a lot of reviews where people make a big deal that they aren't greeted. They aren't working to entertain you. I've worked in retail and to be honest there's people you come across that you'd wish you'd never see again. But yes it does help business to be friendly. They usually have all the items we need. We did notice that there was canned food out of stock. I love the employees that work at Starbucks. They are always happy and friendly. This is a great alternative to the Starbucks on Swidler and Chapman. The line is crazy for drive thru depending the time. read more

First of all , it's 11 A.M. and there's no one in the store. I usually like this Albertsons for the staff but after today's visit this was enough for me to transfer my auto refill prescription to target IMMEDIATELY. There's no line at the pharmacy and this Asian frumpy short lady Kathy P just stands there like an idiot. I finally ask if I can pick up my prescription and she's like we will help you shortly, then some other slow Latina lady comes to help. I take a photo of my prescription and leave. I live within walking distance of this store and have for more than 20 years, yet this is the first time reviewing this business. I do shop here but only when it's a necessity, their prices are always highest of the chains, they seem to always have supply problems, their technology is always spotty, but the worst part is their customer service. Buyer beware and check your receipt; don't know how many times I've purchased sale items only to find they have charged me the regular price. My daughter purchased a customized birthday cake only to get it home to find it was wrong, and today one of their managers, grumpy because they were short staffed told be the pre-sliced deli meats they "do every morning" were as fresh as if they were sliced now. Sorry, but your labor issues should not be at my expense. When I went to check out today their system was down. I left my entire order with the checker and walked out for the last time. For those who live in east Orange, a short drive will take you to an Aldi's, Trader Joe's, and Smart & Final all very close together. BAKERY REVIEW I went into the store order a special occasion cake. The 1st gal that stated helping me was Sarah. Then another bakery gal named Gaby jumped in saying Sarah didn't know what she was talking about and took my cake order. The price of the cake was $65+. It seemed costly for a grocery store cake but I finally agreed seeing as it was a multi layered "specialty" cake. Well to my surprise I received a call the following day to say that the way Gaby had written up the cake order that they can't and don't make that type of cake. I asked to speak to a manager and was told that she is only available in the mornings. I decided to go into the store to find out what was going on cause now I'm pissed about the whole situation. The bakery gal that was originally going to take my order, Sarah was there so I explained about the call and that I was there to find out what in the hell was going on. She could see that I was pissed and she immediately let me know that there is ALWAYS a "manger" available and that she would be happy to help me get a cake order done. I came into this Albertsons for their pharmacy section. From what I saw of the brief walkthrough, the grocery's aisles looked really neat and tidy. If I lived nearer, I would definitely shop here. This review is for the pharmacy section of Albertsons though. I was promptly greeted by a pharm tech, Kelly. I've been a regular customer of Albertsons for several years. This Albertsons is located off of Chapman, close to a CVS and another Mexican grocery store. They have their own huge parking lot - too much space for nothing, in my opinion. Prices here are slightly higher, but I expect that of Albertsons because they try to put their customers first. They want to ensure their customers have good experiences at their stores, which I think explains their new goal to have more registers open when there are more than 3 people in line. I even enjoy playing their monopoly game, which I think is fun and a good way to save money at the same time. This location is no different than most - except for the terrible service. The people here are not friendly and definitely not helpful. When the clerk couldn't help, I went to her manager, who gave me no answers as well. They just shrugged and left me to figure out what to do on my own. Sure, it's my own problem I need to solve, but I felt that for a company who strives to keep their customers happy, they weren't convincing me. This happened only once, since after receiving no help from the managers, I stopped asking them. I will not be returning to this Albertsons location any time soon. While I will continue to shop at Albertsons grocery stores, I do not think this particular location deserves any business from me or my circle of friends and family. read more

I don't know why I keep going to this location. I keep hoping it will go back to its former self and that's just not happening. I haven't stopped going but today mY be the last time. The fresh produce was disappointing. The organic peaches were rotting and had fruit flies. The bagged romaine (three bunches in a bag) were red along the spines and wilted. The bananas were green with hints of grey and black. Are they being artificially ripened? I went down the street to Stater Brothers and their produce was worth buying. My Albertson's has the nicest staff. Darlene Asst Manager keeps the store moving. She becomes a cashier, customer service and always with a smile. She recognizes returning customers which makes me feel special. The gentleman in the dairy section always helps me reaching the Jello. I can't remember his name.
