My Albertson's has the nicest staff. Darlene Asst Manager keeps the store moving. She becomes a cashier, customer service and always with a smile. She recognizes returning customers which makes me feel special. The gentleman in the dairy section always helps me reaching the Jello. I can't remember his name. Hey, it's a supermarket. This is the bigger of the two in Orange on Chapman, and the one I hit when I am headed home from the 55 and need to stop for groceries. Produce is good, they have rotisserie chickens and a guy making sushi (during the day), plus a decent meat and sea food counter. They also have a Starbucks inside, so you don't have to hit the drive through down the road on Chapman if you want to get a coffee and groceries. read more

Terrible service. I called yesterday to order a cake and the employee that picked up said to call tomorrow at 5am and order the cake then. Called today only to find that the cake decorator isn't in, and they need 24 hours to make a cake special order. This review is solely for the bakery. The cake is absolutely superb! I don't know about other Albertsons bakeries but this one has a great baker. Who would have thought! I've bought 3 cakes from here. All of them just how I like it with whipped cream icing not that nasty hard butter cream (although they do have the option). The last cake I ordered was custom made. I ordered it 3 days prior. The baker also let me know they give out a free smash cake for babies! So my custom designed cake and the mini smash cake was a whopping $22! What a steal. Forget about going to expensive bakeries and head to this Albertsons! Also last time I was in the bakery section I noticed they also sell vegan cakes! This is the closest grocery store to my house. It has a decent selection (not as good as the Ralph's superstore in the Tustin marketplace), and the deli is pretty good. However, just about everything I buy is about $1.00 more than Ralphs. The total bill ends up being a surprise, every time. read more

I love going to this specific location Albertsons has in Orange. To be honest what I really like is the fact that it is conveniently nearby to where I live. As off recently, I have seen a lapse in their service. Employees have been rude to customers and the shelves are sometimes not properly stocked. Numerous times I have found milk in the dry goods section. I guess customers took it, decided that they didn't want it anymore and left it wherever they felt like. Quick shout out to your bakery department at Chapman and Hewes! My daughter has autism and INSISTS on having a cake every year with an image put on her birthday cake. It's very difficult to find a bakery that even can do this. I had ordered the cake from a different Albertson's location and got a call THE NIGHT BEFORE her birthday their transfer machine was down. I ran down to this location on a Sunday night and said " I need this by 4:00 tomorrow ", expecting a call all day Monday it was not possible. Not only did they do the cake, it came out PERFECT, and without them knowing, used HER FAVORITE COLOR to accent it with. Best. Cake. Ever. I spend $1,000 month in groceries. Tonight when I stopped by my local Albertsons at 4550 East Chapman - I saw a sale on Fanta and other soda products. Several signs on the aisle had this 3 for 9.99 next to coke & non coke product. I bought three but because 1 was not a coke product, the deal did not apply. Made sense - I explained how the signs did not explain that (I checked them 3 times). The cashier stated "no worries we will fix it", but two other employees wanted to argue with me and tell me "you are wrong, don't you understand etc etc". So - I sat back and said I would wait for a manager who came up not offering a solution (like get a coke product ginger ale) instead he decided to tell me I was wrong too. I got a refund on the product and then was told "the minus means you are getting your money back, do you understand?" This is what I understand, I understand that I will never spend 1 more dollar at your store. I will not be treated or spoken to like an idiot. I will encourage as many people as possible to spend their money else were. This could have been a simple fix - in fact after coming home I researched and I could have gotten a comparable non coke product to get the deal. Instead of providing a solution - your staff preferred to argue with me and talk to me like I was an idiot. I give credit to the cashier who attempted to address it - but he had a line full of people and was busy. Tell your cart retrieval person who pointed at the boxes and talked to me "slowly" that he sealed the deal! Good luck Albertsons! read more

I frequent the store because it is convenient when You are driving Eastbound on Chapman and a Hardware Store is in the same lot. It is not about the service or prices. It is about what they allow. Today, I walk in and 2 teenagers walk fast passing everyone just entering, one of them hangs around (the lookout) the other simply strides to the liquor section, sticks a bottle of hard liquor in his shorts, even goes to the end of the section and comes around thru another aisle and leaves the store. For those who have been at this store, the liquor section and the entrance are completely isolated and out of sight from the cashiers and there is no electronic "barrier on that door. I reported it to the cashier and she said: "Ohh that happens a lot in this store" did not even bother to call a manager. Update - May 2nd 2013 - right in front of one of those white shirt and tie guys that go around inspecting that the store looks good (Corporate from Albertsons I suppose) A youngster simply takes a bottle of liquor, not even trying to hide it, and walks out - I go straight to the Corporate guy and tell him...he flat out did not know what to do, he just said: "ohhhh, we will have to fix that..." then he probably realized that I was doubtful of his attitude and walked towards the exit. Meanwhile the "Manager" a big heavy set guy was having a friendly chat with the employees, and again they seem to be startled when a customer interrupts their chit chat. read more

I usually go to this Albertson's because it is convenient. It is on my way home from work and has a large parking lot with ample space. I have never seen a large crazy crowd here. This section of Chapman Avenue also has a lot of other supermarkets to choose from, but I prefer Albertson's. Why do you ask? - Plenty of products: And their products are made fresh. I have been grocery shopping here at 10pm and there are still fresh products out for you to choose from. Whether it be fruit or vegetables, or newly spicy guacamole made in the market, they are available. The shelves are always full and in stock. It isn't disorganized like some other supermarkets that I've been to. - Cleanliness: It's clean. At any point in the day, I can see that I am in pretty sterile environment. I like shopping in a clean place, it makes you feel more comfortable about buying their food. - Beer Bar: There are some cold fridge shelves that are dedicated to IPAs, craft beers, and other beers that you don't commonly find in supermarkets. Take your pick! Bottom line: A nice clean grocery store is more motivation for you to cook and eat in rather than spending your money at Del Taco or fast food. That works for me! read more

I am beyond (almost) grateful right now to their staff for being gracious and "do unto others"-y after absentmindedly leaning my very, very important work binder against their outside bench, and not realizing this yet another subtle carelessness spurred atrocity until DAYS after-- so I should be screwed, right? The helplessness sinking in, the lost cause!! After reaching into the farthest corners of my dark, careless memory, following a spark of vague light, I gave them a call and someone had magnificently picked it up and it was returned to me!!! We have been coming to this Albertsons for almost 8 years, since we moved to the North Tustin area. We have seen them remodel the store; putting in a Starbucks for the convenience of shoppers. They also offer two Redbox kiosks so you can rent movies conveniently. The parking lot is huge so you never have to worry about finding a parking spot. The store is always clean and they provide the best customer service. From the managers, to the cashiers and employees working the butcher shop, I've always received the best customer service and they are very helpful and my needs. They have a big variety of meats, dairy, fresh produce, a well-stocked and run deli department and adult beverages: domestic and imported beers, craft beers, and a large selection of wine, hard liquor and mixers. It's refreshing to see them stay in business while two Ralph's and other local grocery stores have closed in this area. I find that this Albertsons offers a value and they treat their customers with great respect. We will continue to shop here and support this grocery store. We also love the annual Monopoly game they have (you get tickets and you can win instant prizes such as free bread, salt, etc). read more

My order was promptly filled by a wonderful employee named Alice. I got all the items I requested ! The cost is free. I tried to tip Alice but she informed me that tips are not accepted. I shopped at this Albertsons regularly for the past several years, but lately things change at the end of 2019. I noticed some of my favorite employees were no longer there, especially George, a special guy that always said" Hi Honey". The COVID-19 changed a lot and especially at Albertsons. I admire the cashiers and workers that continued to work during the virus outbreak but now that masks are mandatory and most stores require social distancing I am very disappointed at Albertsons who has decided to establish a ONE LINE policy. The one line for all now stretches from check out to the back of the store with no one keeping 6' apart but everyone bunched up whether they have 1or 2 items or a full cart and the last time I was there only 2 or 3 ( as I was leaving) checkers were open! Because of this everyone is required to wait longer in a populated area (one aisle) instead 3 or 4 people in multiple lines. It seems Kroger (Ralphs) is handling the current virus social distancing better with no issues of crowd management and are treating customers more civilized and not like cattle. read more
