Enjoyed a nice dinner here for a friend's birthday. The all you can eat option has a great selection to choose from, and everything we had was tasty. I particularly enjoyed the selection of specialty rolls. And I was impressed with the size of the free ice cream dessert for the birthday. I would happily come back again, and look forward to maybe doing my own birthday here.

Went in for their AYCE during lunch. The ambiance of the place is a vibe. Plenty of seating and a nice interior. Their menu is pretty expansive, lots of sushi and appetizers to choose from. I like the seaweed salad, Japanese BBQ beef, and shumai. You get handled a menu and a dry erase marker to place your orders. Servers regularly come around to take your order, refill drinks, and check in on you. The service is efficient and attentative. The food comes out pretty quickly, we were able to put away a decent amount during our 1hr lunch break. Most importantly, the sushi rolls are yummy! And I say this as someone who doesn't typically crave sushi. I really like their Wolf Rd Roll and the shrimp tempura roll. They also have those guava candies that you can grap on the way out, love those!

Pretty solid Ayce experience! Got there when it's dinner rush! The whole restaurant was packed. The wait time was supposed to be 20 mins as I put my name down. But they came to us and asked if we wanted to sit at the bar in 10 mins. It was great sitting at the bar with a big tv and watching the sushi chef worked their magic. I know why they can make their sushi nigiri and sashimi in such a quick pace serving so many ppl! They have a system there! All the fish has already pre cut to the pieces for sashimi and sushi except the maki rolls! I saw them assembling the nigiri and hand rolls... Our server was attentive and nice! Ordered a few appetizers like hamachi ponzu and sear tuna! Hamachi tasted fresh and delicious. Seared tuna has nice texture to it but a little too spicy to my liking. Hand rolls with spicy scallops and yellowtails were both nice. Seaweed quality was just ok... not the best. Best roll was the shrimp tempura! Some of the rolls were too saucy! Can't taste the fish and ingredients! Overall the menu has so much variety , from appetizers, sushi/ small and big special rolls to hot food like udon and fried rice... Come hungry and get your money worth!!! Quality of the food is B Service is fast and efficient

The sushi is off the chart fresh. Some of the best I've had. The service can be a bit slow, but I'll chalk this up to how busy they were even on a Wednesday night at 5pm. The restaurant itself is beautiful on the inside. It's very clean. All the sushi chefs and wait staff are wearing food service gloves. I'd give the place a 5 star rating if not for the service.

This was a good value for $18.95/person all you can eat sushi/food! The sushi quality was pretty good: rice was reasoned well and they used fresh ingredients and oil (for the deep fried items). A few of the other things we tried: - The rock shrimp was good, like the bang bang shrimp at Bonefish Grill (lightly breaded and deep fried, tossed in a spicy mayo sauce) - Stir fried noodles had good "wok hei" (wok-seared flavor), but they just used spaghetti noodles rather than lo mein noodles . And the chicken tasted a little old. - Fried rice also had good wok hei but not much flavor. Our waitress didn't really know English, so unfortunately it was difficult to communicate. Thankfully, there were other staff around we could flag down and ask for things we needed. The interior was pretty clean and had ample seating. This was a solid meal and I would come back!

I guess I should have expected mediocre sushi at an all-you-can-eat sushi place. Honestly, for the price ($31.99), you could expect much worse. But the food was utterly serviceable. You have to know what to get here. First we made the mistake of ordering nigiri sushi. The fish on these is especially skimpy. And beware, they only serve one piece instead of the standard two. Then we had three rolls which looked pretty sloppy due to the amounts of sauce on top. Avoid the wasabi mayo, apparently. What I did lie were the Hawaii Five-O roll and the Fish Overload roll. These were seemingly neater, had more interesting flavor profiles, and seemed to have more whole pieces of fish instead of the mash you find sometimes. The sashimi was fine. It definitely wasn't the freshest I've had. The flavor was lacking and the texture was close to crossing a line for me. The service was very fast, but the room was loud. Overall, a mixed bag. I'd say I'd probably come again knowing what to get.

I was surprised how large the place was! I went on a Saturday early evening and it moving. I went solo so I was seated at the bar. The bar had a fruit fly issue but the bartender was amazing! I didn't even drink alcohol. I was given a marker and an extensive laminated menu. Weekend was 31.99, so I decided if I got 2 special rolls it would be worth it. Those rolls, scallops (fish sticks), miso, and 2 Garlic seared tuna (phenomenal) later... and I was overstuffed. The sushi was amazing but the bartender service was even better and I was sober. Fun place and I'll be back. Loved it.

Seared tuna tartare

Sushi culture in the U.S. is quite different to Australia where I come from, so what I consider to be great sushi has largely been shaped by this perspective. It took another birthday for me to get myself and my gang to come here for the first time, and it was more hit than miss, although less than perfect. We rocked up around 5pm on a Saturday and didn't need to wait to be seated, although by the time we left here was clearly a waitlist and the parking lot was definitely fuller. I'll get straight to the food: - Chef's rolls were passable. One in our group seemed to enjoy both rolls with mango, but I didn't care for the passion roll or cherry blossom roll personally. - Seared tuna tartare: dressing was on the salty side but tuna was legit. - Sashimi impressed me, including the egg cake. - Seafood soup: this was a mistake and a messy gloop. - Japanese sausage yakitori: this wasn't really what I would call yakitori, but more a lightly sauteed sausage, and whatever sauce came with it spoiled it even more. - Veggie tempura: I give them props for the crisp, but that's where compliments end. The veggie cut should be much thinner and I would've liked more variety of veggies. Service was on point and we didn't once have difficulty getting our orders in. Food came out fairly quickly except for our first round. They somehow turned the music way up at some point and I wish they hadn't. Overall a good experience + happy birthday to me, and I hope they keep improving.

Tuna, yellow tail, and sweet potato rolls.

Service was brisk and courteous, food came out quickly as ordered and new orders were taken at any point. But the quality of many items was only so-so and the range wasn't what what I was expecting, although I don't know why I should have thought there would be something else since the menu is online and complete. I don't recommend the tempura, it seemed under salted and not sufficiently crunchy. Coconut shrimp also a pass. The rainbow roll and several other rolls were fine. My daughter enjoyed her eel sushi quite a bit. For the money, I should have gone to a place that wasn't AYCE, but it might be for you if you go *hungry* to make the most of it. Added the fourth star because my reaction may be as much about what you can expect from the style of place (AYCE sushi restaurants) as the experience. Plus my daughter loved the green tea ice cream to finish off the lunch.

Yellowtail roll

I'll give it a 5. Rolled in on a Friday night around 9:30pm. The yellow and tuna rolls were the largest I've ever had. I wish I had gotten there two hours earlier so I could have savored it more. Was very good.

Such a fun place to go for AYCE! Given that it is AYCE, the quality of the sushi and sashimi is really good and there's so many specialty rolls to try! I also really loved the vegetable noodles and some of the appetizers like the gyoza. Have gone a couple times and would definitely come again! The birthday deal is also too good to pass up! The service is pretty fast and all you do is mark on a menu your order and the waiters are pretty responsive in ensuring your order gets back! Clean ambiance, very spacious as well

I was really impressed we came here two times in the past month. Both times It was extremely busy but service was still fast and the food was great. Quality was great and you can really tell they all work together as a team to ensure that you have a good experience. We also got drinks from the bar while we waited and the bartender was very kind and the drinks were great. Will be coming back for sure

Jayden N.

AYCE sushi. Not much to really say about this. They have decent sushi for the decent AYCE pricing. It's nothing extravagant. Service is always good there and the environment is alright.

No liquor license, so no sake, but lots and lots of bubble-tea. And almost no interaction with sushi chef (and no seating at sushi bar) - all orders are placed and paid for on one of two digital podiums. Oh, yeah. You are probably going to want to rub your waribashi together to break off any splinters or sharp edges. Not the best quality. Unfortunately, the food itself is also unremarkable. The sushi rice was very lightly seasoned. The nori wrap was so tiny on the nigiri tamago and unagi, there is no possibility that it could hold each piece together. Maybe the owner only allows the chef to use 1 sheet of nori each day. The ikura on the gunkenmaki didn't have that little "pop" when you bite on one, confirming the freshness. And the barely spicy salmon maki was partially minced salmon, with a bit too much non-salmon filler. I'm sure the college kids love this place. 2023 05 31. S14.

I usually like getting a "Salmon Lovers" from the place in Stuyvesant (Mr Fuji sushi) or Asian Tea House in Rensselaer. Asian tea house's salmon lovers is really good, but they are further away and it's like $28. Fuji sushi is more comparable in price to Oishi, but the salmon isn't as buttery and delicious. Pretty much every time I have ordered now from Oishi I'm extremely pleased with the salmon and have even tried a few more menu items. My husband loves the fried coconut shrimp on their app menu. The shrimp tempura roll is a bit overwhelming but also good. The salmon/avocado roll is also great.

When we entered there was no host at the counter, we were just standing there for a minute or two before we started searching for someone. Finally, a lady came out the back kitchen and seated us. We just wanted a small lunch since we were planning on picking up food from Che Figata later that evening. Well, I guess there is no regular menu only the all you can eat buffet menu ($28 each)? The way it works is there is actually no buffet at all, you must place an order for items on the buffet menu then wait for the food to be delivered. If you're still hungry and want more you need to place another order. On one hand, your food would be fresh and not sitting out on a buffet; alternatively, most people will fill up before their second or third item arrives. Something to note is you can only order 2 pieces of sushi or sashimi per order, and one sushi roll per order. It wasn't too busy; however, customers that were already seated were just twiddling their thumbs waiting for more food to arrive and there was only one server and she didn't look like much of a go-getter. After about 5-minutes of waiting around for something to happen we decided it would be better if we got the hell out of there before we were stuck sitting around like everyone else. I guess this concept works as this restaurant does have good reviews, but I just didn't like the vibe and couldn't risk a potential bad experience on Mother's Day. Sorry Sushi Shine, we decided to go to Sawa Shushi Bistro instead and had a wonderful experience there.

Just okay, not bad. Offers a lot for a buffet & the hot pot is included (unlimited ingredients &…read morevegetables too)! Wouldn't have thought I would have tried (eaten years ago traveling in Asia): razor clams, snail, frog leg, crawfish, abalone cooked in different ways (a very pricey seafood- in garlic sauce with vermicelli noodles & in Buddha Jumps Over the Wall herbal soup). Other seafood items included: ONE whole lobster per person (not sure if this was specifically for the holiday), blue stone crab, crab legs, shrimp many different ways (cocktail, boiled in shell & dusted with seasoning, battered & fried for "Coconut Shrimp" kind of like sweet walnut shrimp), a raw bar area, grilled oysters, oysters & XO sauce... The sauteed string beans were good, pineapple sticky rice. The rice in the large rice cooker was large short-grain with varying types of doness (some crispy, some wet...). The short ribs, pepper beef, & pork belly cubes were lukewarm, not very flavorful & a bit tough. The dim sum options in the steamers were probably great when they first came out, but my shrimp crystal dumpling wrapper was tough and crispy on the edges & mushy shrimp & black sesame seeds inside & the lava custard bun was congealed & lukewarm. There's a few soups like hot & sour, broth for wonton, an herbal chicken & goji berry (good for eyesight). There was a dessert area with a lot of fresh fruit, cake & pudding cups (catering-like quality though), almond cookies & herbal jelly, an ice cream bar case, a few canned K-pop sodas, refrigerator of milk tea, passionfruit juice, mango sago, etc. & 3 cases of hot pot ingredients including various fish meatballs, tofu puffs, udon & potato noodles, watercress, chrysanthemum leaves, napa cabbage, mixed mushrooms, frozen thinly sliced pork belly, beef, and lamb. I didn't get to try the mad-to-order ramen & noodle soup. There's a huge sushi bar with lots of pretty bites, but items looked a bit crispy around the edges. The eel on the sushi was paper thin. The spicy tuna sushi was not. good. Have never heard of or seen the herbal soup Buddha Jumps Over the Wall. Supposedly it takes a long time to simmer & the ingredients are immune boosting & collagen rich. Broth from pork shank, chicken feet, abalone, dried scallops, mushrooms, a quail egg was also in there. It's kind of like a rich hearty dark broth with "healthy root beer" undertones. This soup only appears at the best wedding & other banquets. Try it! Final thoughts: eat anything with abalone ($$) buffet is worth it for that. Get a hot pot & warm up any seafood in the water before eating it. Lots of interesting items to try. Overall it FEELS like a buffet - big on quantity, little on quality, kind of empty. Maybe during seafood season, items would be juicy & tasty, but even the meat items felt like empty St*rbucks food. It's not a bad experience, good bang for the buck. The frog legs were literally like a chicken wing & well seasoned & spicy. The lunch pricing seems good also.
