The prices and service at this place was great they have you go up to the counter to put in your order for drinks and food. The selection for this place has a lot of Asian noodle and appetizer choices along with some Italian pasta choices as well. Ate here once. Technically mainly Asian noodlehouse, but oddly other noodle (Italian) dishes as well. Hubbie got pad thai + I got 'pho' type glass noodle soup. We came to same conclusion about both items- reasonably priced, basic Asain food. However,neither of us would get same item again. Underseasoned. Basically noodles in pad thai, ie. not a lot else in it. Ok, but not a great example of it.Same true of my noodle soup. Bland stock- dish made better w/addition of condiments, but not particularly noteworthy, quality pho stock. Ok for the price, but not exciting. read more

So glad I finally got around to trying this place! Such an institution in Amherst, I see that they've been in business for going on 2 decades. I absolutely see why - great vibe and great food and excellent service. I only placed a pick up order but will be back to dine in one of these days as well. I got spicy glass noodles and pad see ew - the spicy glass noodles did have a ton of heat but the flavor otherwise wasn't totally balanced, felt like they could have used more seasoning on the pad see ewe, it was missing that really good savory component. This place is great!! We're were visiting Amherst College on a tour and came here before hand for lunch. My wife, and daughters 17/13 were very happy we did. The town itself is very cute, littered with what seems as endless food options. We settled on this place. Started with the pork wontons and we can honestly say they were the best we have ever had, and we have had them in the biggest of cities. Delish. Fresh. Crunchy. OMG For our mains my wife and daughter had the Basil Rice. OMG. I would say it was the best bite on what is an awesome meal, but the wontons are close. My other daughter had the peanut chicken and is was tasty. She also told my wontons and my daughters rice at some point. I had the drunken noodles and it had a bit of spice but easily handled. If you live in the Amherst area but you've never been to crazy noodles then you seriously need to realize what you are missing out on. I came in for the first time a couple weeks ago and I've been back probably 4 times since. The service is incredible; staff is so kind and friendly, it just seems like such a happy and homey environment. Excellent casual Thai Fusion restaurant. I have not tried the Italian dishes, but the Thai dishes I order are above average. The Tom Yum soup is authentic, the Curry dishes are spicy and flavorful, the stir fries I have ordered also include a generous filling of meat and veggies with an large assortment of seasonings and sauce choices. Food service quick with register ordering, and waiting service of your food included. Ask for limes on the side, they are no extra charge and a great addition to your dish. Lastly, avoid the lunch special unless you are getting a noodles dish. The lunch specials with rice are a much smaller serving size than the ones that a noodle dishes. The only thing I do not like is the lunch special soup. Just tastes like seasoned water. read more

Both my daughters were arriving home for Easter so I wanted to treat them to lunch. Crazy Noodles was the choice. Very nice casual place. A counter to order and pay at and numerous tables spaced reasonably apart where your food is delivered to. Fairly large menu with several different choices from beef, chicken, seafood and vegetarian options. I choose the wonton soup as an appetizer which was piping hot and loaded with pork filled wontons in a nice simple chicken broth with onion, cabbage and celery. Very comforting. I then had a noodle and green curry with shrimp that was again served piping hot. Nice and smooth with a savory bite at the end. I only wished I had ordered a side of rice to help soak up the extra curry. Very satisfying and great value. Plenty of food for the price. Both my daughters got pad Thai and were pleased with the dishes. I will definitely be back as the menu definitely has other item I would love to try. read more

For a place that's been around for 13 years, and I've been in the area for 16, I'm VERY sad I've only been here once!! This place is DELICIOUS. And cheap!! A one of a kind, Asian-Italian eatery, noodles galore! Walking in, the place seems minimalistic. Not much going on in the place, and that's okay! Local activity hangs on one wall which is cool. Staff was very friendly, and that's always a plus. Ordered the food (I went with a non-spicy dish called Mom's Favorite). Holy moly was it good. Huge portions but I couldn't stop eating and ate it all in one sitting! Coke products, for those who it matters to! I LOVE CRAZY NOODLES. I am always down to come here right on the edge of Downtown Amherst, especially as a poor college student, where you can get a delicious, filling meal for around $10 or less. I would highly suggest the crispy wontons! Sometimes my craving for them drives me to make a stop into the restaurant. Additionally, the menu has something for everyone: pasta noodles, stir fry, and Asian noodle and noodle soup dishes. For many dishes, you get to choose your protein so for vegetarians, vegans, or people like me who just love tofu, this place is really awesome. For things like the stir fry you also get to choose the sauce you want your meal cooked. I really love having these customizable options and am never disappointed with my food. The serving sizes are also decently large and I can usually save about half for my second dinner later on. Honestly, although I love my stir fry fresh, I've found that after leaving it in the fridge for a while it somehow tastes even more delicious. I am a huge fan of their broth!! They are so confident in the flavor of their broth that they don't have many condiments, wow. I got the Phnom Penh noodles and I think about their broth all the time. It's just that good! It's pretty clean and the atmosphere is pretty modern and welcoming. You order and pay at the counter, sit down, and they'll serve you your food. Once you're finished eating, you're all set. No self bussing. I'm not used to not having a closing interaction at restaurants but it's nice to be able to have the freedom to live or stay however without worrying about the bill since you've already paid prior to eating. read more

I was afraid this place sold just noodles, as in Japanese Ramen noodles. But thankfully they offer much more than that. They offer a lot of popular Chinese, Thai, and tomato based (Italian?) noodle dishes. There is something for everybody. I ordered the Won Ton Soup and Pad Woon Sen and both items were terrific. I'd would order them both again. But with such a vast and diverse menu, I'd be willing to try some of the other items first. The layout is very basic and casual.
