I have eaten lunch twice here, and the food was delicious both times. I had the same thing both times, and the taste was consistent, which is important to me. I had the coconut chicken soup and one of the fried rices. My lunch companion got one of the curry dishes. The portions are good, and the prices are reasonable. I will definitely eat here again. There isn't a lot of seating, and the ambiance leaves much to be desired, but the food is worth it. My partner and I love Thai food, and we have eaten it in many Thai restaurants in the US and in Thailand. In comparison, Thai Blue Ginger is not very good. We had two different dishes there a few days ago. My green curry was uninspired and way too salty. The vegetables were overcooked and mushy, and the sauce did not have the balance of flavors that makes Thai food interesting. My partner's teriyaki stir fry tasted like cheap soy sauce poured over overcooked vegetables and tired tofu. Neither dish looked very appetizing. This restaurant needs a cook who knows how to prepare Thai food and how to serve it in an appealing manner. read more

THIS IS A MUST GO TO RESTAURANT. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant, this was some of the best Thai food I have had. We went with a group of 8 and after ordering at the counter we chose our seats. The cashier was very accommodating and allowed us to reconfigure the tables to accommodate our big group. Although you go up and order at the counter the cashier/waitress was very attentive and continuously checked in on our table and refilled our waters. Within 15 minutes all of our food was ready. The drunken noodles pictured below had the perfect ration of noodle to vegetables and a generous serving of chicken. One thing to note is that the portions are a little small so if you are super hungry I recommend ordering an appetizer. Stopped by as I was in the area. I had a craving for larb. Super glad to see it on the menu. Decided to splurge, not disappointed. Ordered tofu triangles, chicken coconut soup, larb and custard with sticky rice for dessert. No way could I eat all that at once, but it tasted so good I wanted to... The triangles were crispy on the outside; just enough skin you need to use your teeth, light on the inside. The sauce had a touch of caramel and a tiny bit if heat for flavor. Personally, I like a little more heat and a little less sweet, but I still liked it. The soup was pure comfort. If I had a cold I would want this soul soothing deliciousness: salty, lightly spiced broth, rich with coconut milk and super tender slices if chicken with a few mushrooms floating on top. Honestly don't care about the calories, it was just sweet, salty, savory perfection in a bowl. I am used to a spicier, tangier larb with more finely minced veggies. Not knocking what I had for dinner, it was really yummy. I just missed the *pow* I was craving. It was larb that got me through the door. Dessert was very good. Last time I was here was pre-covid. A lot has changed, of course. The carpet, table clothes, plates and table service are out. The cafeteria style counter ordering, takeout style containers and multiple shelves for delivery service orders are in. You can still eat in or takeout. The chicken satay is delicious, the steamed pork dumplings are what i call "the right kind" and are delicious. The dipping sauce was a little weak on this night though. The thai chicken basil is okay... it had nice heat, good amount of meat and veggies however was bland. This is my fav thai dish (grapow) and this one falls short. We walked in and walked out of this restaurant on Saturday evening without ordering a thing. All of the decor that was part of the "old Thai Blue Ginger " is gone. All that is left is a bunch of tables and chairs. There is no service (wait staff) and instead there is a pile of menus near the front door so you can see what you want and then order at the counter at the rear. Also, they no longer have a liquor license. We are sorry to see what has happened to this restaurant. It was a nice place to eat a few years ago. Had dinner here on a Friday night. I had the Thai Garden and my three companions all had pad Thai. The food was generally pretty good and the service was decent. Unfortunately the place isn't well set up for dining. The waitresses were occupied with take out orders and people were coming and going as they grabbed their stuff. The food at this local Thai fixture of Greenfield has seriously declined. It's a bit perplexing as it used to be a decent eatery with a lovely ambience and some halfway decent flavors. It's not so concerning that they switched from in house dining to takeout only. (You can eat in the restaurant but it's all takeout containers, plastic silver etc. And one third of the space is a make-shift stock room. This wouldn't matter at all of the food was even pretty good. I mean, one has to be realistic about what we're gonna get out here. But my experience over the last year or two is that the food has little flavor and the care in the preparation have gone south. Tonight I had Crispy House Pad Thai. It was very dry, flavorless, and over cooked. My wife had Thai Basil which felt soggy and underwhelming. The Chicken Satay appetizer--dry and without much flavor. The Salmon Rangoon was ok. I had lunch a few weeks back and my experience with a different series of appetizers and dishes was equally undelicious. Service and folks behind the counter all fine and good. read more

I've been patronising TBG for many years and I've found their food to be very good with only minor exceptions to that. The staff is wonderful and welcoming and their Thai iced coffee is fabulous. I'm a particular fan of their drunken noodles with beef and their Pad Thai has been a huge favourite for years (although I think the recipe changed, but it's still good!). First of all, it's the only Thai food in town. There are some items like their fresh cucumber rolls, yellow curry and Pad Thai that are good, and the yellow curry is above average. The place is still bouncing back for, not having sit down and other Covid restrictions, but it still needs work. The interior itself smells stale and needs significant refreshing. There are also some "not Thai" food items that I've tried that were not good at all. Frankly, these are nice people who mean well and drastically ned a menu update and an indoor sprucing up. Stopped in here for dinner with cousins on the way up I-91 to Keene, NH. I love Thai food and selected this place based on the fact that it had a number of 5 star reviews. I love very spicy food - and ordered the Som Tum (Papaya salad), Tom Yum (lemongrass soup) and Ka Pow - at maximum spice level. I omitted rice from my order as I am on a low carb lifestyle. The server was worried about me - and I had my usual polite discussion and disagreement with the server over whether I could handle that much heat. I decided to relent this time and accept a level 6 spice level (out of 12) based on her recommendation. The Som Tum was excellent - had a good amount of heat, but not near what I wanted. The soup was rather disappointing, not even close to some of the best Lemongrass soups I've had. And the Ka Pow was also rather ordinary and bland. Afterward the server asked if the food was hot enough - I told her not even close - and politely commented that the next time when I ask for max spice level - they will give me what I request! Stopped over Greenfield MA on our way home to Milton VT from our week long vacation in Connecticut and stumbled upon this little gem in town. Upon entering the restaurant, you will notice the beautiful deco and lighting which has a very inviting feeling. We were greeted and seated promptly and offered the regular menu as well as the Lunch Box menu. The Lunch Box is literally a square serving container with separate compartments for your rice, main dish, salad, appetizer, and sauce. Most of my family ordered the Teriyaki Chicken or Beef lunch box, while I ordered the Red Curry Chicken and my wife had the Pad Thai. Food was hot, delicious, and very filling. Prices were very reasonable for what you get and the service was excellent. If you are into Thai cuisine, I highly recommend this restaurant. It was great! read more

I just moved to town and am starting my tour of local restaurants. I ordered three of my favorites for take-out: fresh rolls, tom yum soup, and vegetarian pad thai. I order these wherever I go, just for comparison. I'm sorry to say that the fresh rolls are not exciting. They're fine, they're fresh, but there's not a lot of flavor or color. A bit of cilantro would go a long way here. I found the sauce a little dark and gooey. Tom Yum soup: yummy. Could have been spicier but it was quite tasty, just the thing for a(nother) freezing night in the northeast. Mushrooms, a couple of shrimp, and all those good spices. I enjoyed it and it felt healthy. Thai Blue Ginger is big on advertising the health benefits of their food. Vegetarian pad thai: interesting. Bits of broccoli, zucchini, carrot, egg, cabbage, and fried tofu. Peanuts mixed in; no sprouts on the side, which is what I'm used to. Sweet, but not too sweet; still, I would have preferred a spicier dish. Overall, I'm delighted to find a decent Thai place within walking distance of my new digs. The atmosphere inside was intimate and clean and the place was busy at 6pm on a Tuesday night. I'll be back. -- update: I keep coming back. Enjoying the steamed salmon in cabbage today, which I discovered about three years ago on a very special birthday/engagement outing :). The service here is wonderful and the food is tasty. I'm torn on this place. We order occasionally from work for lunch, and it seems to be a hit or miss on quality and portions. Their lunch special is pretty good ..as long as they remember to send your whole order. And if you get the "lunch box" you get a half size portion even though you pay extra for a salad and half size app. They're an average Thai place, at best. read more

Oh yeah! Blue Ginger is definitely a "good" Thai restaurant: authentic flavors and ingredients, reasonable price, and exceptional service! I ordered takeout for Blue Ginger during one of my workdays in Greenfield, but it is definitely nice enough for a sit down dinner or a date: the restaurant is clean, decorated with class, and comfortable. Calling in for takeout was a breeze. Their menu is available online at the website (linked in their Yelp profile), but doesn't list prices. My takeout came to around $12, not including tip. I ordered pad see ewe (also spelled pad see you), which only comes with chicken at this restaurant. Some places offer different meats or a combination of meats. I also asked for an iced coffee. Since I wouldn't be able to pick it up until after work, I asked them to please have it ready at 3 PM. When I arrived shortly after my promised time, my lunch was bagged up and ready to go, but still piping hot. Their to-go containers really seal in the heat! It was still hot 15 minutes later when I finally got to eat it! I asked him if it was spicy, and he said no. Since most Americans can't tolerate "Thai hot", expect to ask for it spicy if that's what you like. After I asked, he gave me a side of chili paste. Score! Another thing I appreciate is that he waited to make my iced coffee until I arrived. No watered-down, murky, room-temperature coffee today! They also fold the tops of the straw wrapper into a cute rose. Nice touch. The service was quick, friendly, and above-par in terms of customer service. I'm surprised this place wasn't packed for lunch. As for my food and drink: the pad see ewe was authentic in terms of taste and ingredients. I DO wish they had seafood pad see ewe (my favorite). The noodles were a bit disappointing: they were clumped together quite a bit and also broken up. This can happen if the noodles aren't prepared properly. Still great flavor... And yes, I ate the whole dish myself...It was easily enough for two meals! :0 The iced coffee was awesome-- a bit sugary for me, since I've been drinking my coffee black (like my heart... LOL) as of late. But it's really a fantastic treat to splurge on. Can't wait to eat here again... It's one of those places I envision eating at for any number of reasons, and I look forward to trying a variety of dishes. read more

Mediocre Thai food. The place was super clean but the food was so bland. I was served "sticky" rice in a damn baggy. The sticky rice wasn't even sticky as well. Fresh rolls sucked, so did the peanut sauce. I wouldn't go back and this is my second time going there. I think food lacks flavor, it seems like the items are pre made, and are not fresh.
