So I never write reviews but in this case I had to! I ordered the fried chicken appetizer and beef pad Thai. The food was fresh, flavorful and delicious! Chef June (who is a Michelin trained chef btw) stopped by my table while I ate to make sure everything was ok . It certainly was! She is so sweet and mindful The chicken was crisp and savory, arriving with a blend of tomato's, onions, basil and spice! Fantastic! The pad Thai, full of bean sprouts and seasoned beef with a sweet flavor and crushed peanuts. Absolutely full of flavor! If you like this food or want to try something new, kiao wan is the best place to visit. It's small but welcoming, the chef cooks with love. It's a little pricey but you get what you pay for! I'm definitely coming back to try other dishes! read more

Delicious Thai food. You order at the counter and seating is limited but the food is authentic and delicious.

We were passing through, looking for a place to eat dinner. I looked for a high rating on Yelp in the area and hit upon Kiao Wan. It is accessible from a large parking lot (and not visible from the main road). The restaurant only had a couple other customers, so tables were empty. There are tables or counter seating, and the restaurant would not be ideal for large groups. We ordered at the counter and picked a table to sit at, and then they brought out our dishes to us. My husband and I ordered red and green curries (dishes we'd usually order from Thai restaurants). I wanted the mango sticky rice, but they were out. The curries arrived quickly- probably around 10 minutes- with sides of rice. The curries were flavorful, and they used thai eggplants. Like other customers say, the portions were large, and we took leftovers with us (which tasted just as good the next day), but we needed to order more rice, and they charged $4 per extra rice- so it was $8 for us to have extra rice (which I understand is now the norm to charge for extra rice, but sigh). If we lived in the area, we would order takeout from here, rather than eat in. There are no bathrooms within the restaurant itself, but there's an exterior hallway with public restrooms. read more

Was looking for a spot to grab some food with my niece and nephew after visiting the Springfield Museums. We had the spring rolls, fried chicken appetizer and chicken pad Thai. All dishes were delicious, my nephew especially loved the chili Thai sauce that came with the spring rolls. I think that was the best pad Thai I ever had. Pad Thai was good, did not skimp on shrimp. Boba tea could have been better, the bubbles were a bit too soft and overall the drinks could be 10% less sweet but that's a personal preference. Overall great lunch spot. read more

I've been meaning to come by this place since it opened last year! Finally had the time to! When we arrived we ordered at the register and were able to sit anywhere we wanted. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. The food arrived promptly and everyone was so kind and considerate. The food was delicious! My partner and I both were stuffed and we had enough food to take home. The Thai iced tea was also great, the boba was perfectly soft. The service here was amazing and the owner and chef, June, delivered our meals to our table herself! Can't wait to come back for another delicious meal! Very disappointing. I got Khao Pad with chicken and vegetables and threw it out after a few bites. The rice was mushy. The vegetables were a few carrot slices and tiny bits of tasteless greens. The only flavor I could detect was soy sauce. read more

Got takeout chicken green curry and chicken pad thai, as I thought those would be good test dishes. They were both very good. The tamarind in the pad thai was noticeable, which is a good thing. I would have preferred more scallions, but that is me. The green curry was creamy coconut forward, with balanced heat. It had eggplant in it, which may be traditional, I am not sure. We went for dinner last night. It's was delicious. The food was piping hot and the spice level was on point. There is a nice variety of dishes to choose from. One item we did order was not available but the chef and staf offered explanations and recommendations for another appetizer. Service was quick and portions are large for the amount charged. My partner and I are big fans of Thai food, and moved to the Pioneer Valley two years ago. We had not found a Thai restaurant we really loved until Kiao Wan. We are SO glad to have this restaurant nearby. It's a small restaurant, and it looks like they do much of their business as take-out. We were seated promptly both times we've had dinner there. The staff are super friendly, and the chef came out during our meal to see how we were doing. She is very kind, and seems to really care that her customers enjoy her creations. We ordered pad thai with shrimp on our first visit. It was a large portion of flavorful, tender noodles with both stir-fried tofu and shrimp. For our first meal we ordered Massaman curry and the second time Yellow Curry (more spicy). Both had velvety, coconut-y curry sauces and abundant vegetables in addition to the proteins we ordered. We were lucky to snag their last serving of Thai tea panna cotta before they ran out. It was mind-blowing - we would go there just for that! I highly recommend this place. read more

Kaio Wan is a small little thai restaurant in South Hadley, Massachusetts with flavors that deliver... me and my wife stopped in for a quick meal and both got the Thom kha Ghai. This soup hit all the notes we were looking for.. The broth was rich and flavorful. The flavors were absolutely spot on. The chef wven asked if we wanted some traditional chili oil to be added to the soup which we said yes I don't know that made more the Wonderfully friendly Thai chef or ourselves. needless to say we will be back to try more dishes if anything is as good as it will deliver just as hard!!! read more
