John Shorb provided excellent service: extremely responsive, reasonable price, and solid recommendations throughout the process. We primarily worked with Rasma and Todd who listened to what we wanted and were able to offer expertise on how best to make it all work. Rasma's thorough consultation included recommendations for tree trimming to ensure the sod would take hold as well contacts to have our rain garden reimbursed. The team cleared and tilled the backyard, filling it mostly with sod (it was previously muddy and covered with low laying grass/moss). The team not only provided water recommendations but helped set up our sprinkler system. They re-purposed plants in our yard to different areas that were better suited for light and aesthetics and weeded areas that we wanted to leave as-is. They told us about DC's rain garden reimbursement program which we implemented. After Day 2 and a severe rain we noticed a bit of a drainage issue which they resolved immediately. Rasma and Todd's team were friendly and even went above and beyond to make other improvements as needed to make the backyard really standout (added additional gravel to the gate entrance, extended the rock creek drainage and re-purposed healthy plants in areas they would thrive. They also cleared under our deck (removing concrete slabs, old bricks and mismatched stones), leveled it and added a natural stone patio/walk-way filled in with Delaware gravel. The job did extend 2 days beyond what was planned, but given the level of service and finish we would highly recommend them to anyone in the area. We plan to use them again for Phase II of landscaping and hoping to incorporate more features in the coming seasons.

He gave us what we thought was a fair price and put us on the schedule that same week. A large crew showed at 8am on the day of the work and they were done by late afternoon. Jose with JC came out and gave me an estimate, excellent price, and completed the job all in one day! They had to use a crane to get the stump grinder over my wall, then use railroad ties to build a ramp to get it around my home, and they completed the job very quickly. I found Jose and his whole crew to be very responsible and professional. They cleaned up once the job was done and the stump was removed! I had a great experience and will use them again for any tree related needs.

My review is for the clean-up services, since I recently moved to the area and my new home's yard was - well - a hot mess. Aaron, the owner, came out personally to review my job and discuss my future plans. He was never sales-ey, and really listened to what I wanted now, and what my future plans were. Bottom line, they did a great job getting all the leaves and debris from the fall up, cleaned the gutters, and even left all my pebbles in my stone walkway weed and dirt free. It looks absolutely gorgeous. I can't wait until the spring when I plan to do some landscaping and put in a patio. We are in Old Town, so Aaron said they can make the stone work look period and thought of some great natural stone options. He also found a solution for a major drainage issue we had. I'll be honest, he wasn't my "cheapest" quote, but I felt like I was in really good hands and the job he did, and what we're talking about in the future, will be done right.

This was after I hired and PAID the company to perform a landscape project to remove bamboo, ivy and lay sod. The 'Landscape Design' seemed like a standard add-on to the contract something to generate alittle extra money without actually doing any work. C&L's price is reasonable and they do great work. It is a family business and it is easy to communicate with any of them. The grandfather does the estimates (and does ground work). The sons go up in the trees and do most of the cutting, and in the summer, I think the 3rd generation helps. I have recommended them to friends who have been pleased with C&L's work. I've used them to cut out dead limbs from giant oak trees, cut down large trees that were diseased or damaged by storms, and I've had them grind stumps. One job I had was a three day job. Again, their work is good and they clean up the debris.

BAM's was incredibly efficient from start to finish. Our flower beds were overgrown with all the…read moreworst sorts of weeds and random plants, and filled with leaves from years past. My wife and I had always planned to get to it ourselves, but work and family always came first. So, we finally sought help, and BAM's was great. Another landscaper wanted 500 - 1000 dollars just to consult and draw a pretty picture of what our yard *could* look like. Then I reached out to BAM's. Initially I reached out just about the front and side yards and sent them pictures. They offered me quote based on what I wanted done (spring cleanup and mulch installation), and I accepted. They quickly got me scheduled and when the day came, they did just an amazingly efficient job (much, much faster than I ever thought possible) and a very thorough one (it wasn't just fast, it was well done). The three guys who did the work were just incredibly friendly and professional, and did the beds in the backyard too, much to my very happy surprise (the quote wasn't in fact limited to the front and sides, but I was so overwhelmed with what I thought were the worst parts of the yard, I neglected that fact). There's a reason I waited until I moved across the country to post this reviewed. I was scared! Giving this business your credit card is a carte blanche for them to rack up charges. You are not charged for each visit, but for months at a time. The explanation is that weekly visits are not guaranteed, but your contract guarantees them weekly payment. I was charged extra to weed wack part of my yard that had a gradual 6-in elevation difference and therefore was not mowed or edged for months. No permission was sought of course for this extra charge.
