Axcobar did a fantastic job. We needed a 100 foot tall oak in our backyard removed earlier this fall, much to my displeasure, because its lean towards our house was getting worse, making us nervous during any high winds and storms. With the tree's size and height, it would split the house down the middle if it fell. I was disappointed to see it go, but this crew was great. The tree was in the back of the property, so they had to disassemble a section of fence and temporarily upend several stepping stones in order to back the crane into the back yard. They were great at attempting to alleviate the weight of the crane by placing diamond plates under the wheels to distribute the weight. There were still a few ruts in some spots, but I'm not holding it against the crew, because I clearly saw them make a legitimate effort to limit the ruts. One area of grass had to be torn up for one of the crane's support legs, but they actually did a good job of cutting it out as chunks of sod. They put the fence post, fence, stones, and grass back. And after a few weeks, the grass patch was not noticeable. Again, I'm not holding any of that against them, considering the size of the tree/job; those are minor inconveniences that I assumed would come with the territory of a large all-day job. All in all - great service, great crew, and I would recommend and use them again. read more

Don't bother getting other quotes. They just completed a complicated job for me and while I hope I don't have another tree problem, if I do, I won't call anyone else. Highly skilled, well equipped, professional, highly knowledgeable about the law (when your huge tree falls on other people's property but you want to be a good human!) and insurance claims. The Team at Axcobar did an awesome job. I had a giant Oak Tree that I needed to have removed. They came to my house and gave a reasonably priced estimate and even offered to do some additional trimming at a discount (based on the fact that the equipment was already on site). While grinding the tree stump they even put up wood panels to ensure that no flying debris or woods chunks from hitting my house. They came prepared with all the trucks, equipment, and exceeded my expectations in delivering the service (including laying down grass seeds in the place of the former tree). They completed the project within a reasonable time frame and were very responsive in answering all my questions. They hauled away the main parts of the tree trunk and even (at my request) sliced up the smaller logs for me use in my fireplace in the Winter. They also stored the smaller logs in the exact spot where I requested. I know I made the right choice in calling Axobar and would definitely call them back for future tree projects. Used this group last year to cleanup a fallen tree and I had them come out for a consult on my standing trees last week. The estimator was prompt in response time and pricing they provided was in the same ball park with others, however when I contacted DNR to confirm license and insurance information, I was told that there license was expired and they are not allowed to perform work in the state until the company gets re certified. I was very disappointed as I felt mislead. For tree work having proper certifications and insurance coverage is a must (for me at least). Nothing against these guys, but did want to post this as I know many homeowners don't take the time to do proper due diligence. read more

We had three large (50-foot) oaks right on the fence line in our backyard that were dead and a danger to our house and our neighbors. They took all three trees down parallel to the fence without damaging the neighbors' yards or our own. They had all the necessary equipment, a large team, and tons of skill to safely scale and top the trees. They reassembled the playset and repaired all of yard divots from the fallen trees. Their quote had a detailed description of the work to be done as well as photos showing what was specified in our walk-around. Worked with Fredy and his team to remove a very large very dead tree from our backyard. It's a tight lot and was difficult to get the equipment back there since there's only 8 ft clearance, but the Axcobar team made it happen. They were very careful not to harm the neighbor's fence and kept anything from landing on our house as well. The team was meticulous in cleaning up after themselves and threw down some grass seed to finish up. Not only did they grind the stump down, but they did a great job removing all the roots too, you know, the one's that I always manage to run the lawnmower blades over. Great job !! I'd give a 5-Star to Axcobar for the initial contact and estimate for the promptness and level of details in the proposal. But after I approved, it dropped to a 1-Star (zero if allowed) for execution. They gave me a date to do the work but never showed and no explanation. I asked a week later for a new date but no response. I asked again several days later strongly suggesting a response or I'd assume Axcobar would be voiding the contract. Still no response. This is very disappointing and unprofessional. I understand the weather has caused problems for everyone to schedule any outdoor work. All they need to do is to blame the weather and it would be acceptable. But ignoring the customer in total silence is not good business practice. EXCELLENT. My husband and I can't say enough nice things about Melvin and his crew. Three of our trees feel in a recent storm, including our massive maple, which crushed our fence and several smaller trees that were in its path. Melvin not only responded quickly to my early morning inquiry via phone, but he was over here within an hour to inspect and give me an estimate. His quote was competitive, but not only that, he was ready to get his crew on the job the next day, which other companies couldn't offer. The work he did was wonderful, from the quick removal of the maple to the excellent stump removals, which were superior to the work done by the company our next door neighbors hired. Melvin also helped us replant one of our small trees that got knocked over by the maple and his brother Freddie provided some excellent recommendations for tree replacements. I was so happy with the service provided by Axcobar. Everything about the process was easy and convenient, from scheduling the estimate, receiving the estimate and scheduling the removal of a large oak tree in my back yard. The Axcobar team was exceptionally considerate of my property, with careful placement of the crane and protecting vulnerable parts of the lawn with planks where needed. They also expertly removed part of my fence to allow access to the back yard, and I think it's actually in better shape after they put it back! They also dealt with a complaint from my neighbor (one of the machines left tire marks on their sidewalk) with professional courtesy (even though a good rain would have likely resolved), scrubbing it down and leaving it looking better than before they arrived. Axcobar quoted us lower than the original quote we had, and ended up calling two days early to ask if they could come the next day! We were very happy to have the work done in less than a week after we contacted them! They performed the work professionally and faster than our prior estimate (got it all done in one day, other quote said two, maybe two and a half days). We even asked them to do a small tree, that we were planning on doing ourselves, which was completed same day as well! They cleaned up so well, the yard looked better than before they did the work!
