I setup an appointment with the other contractor and they no-call no-showed. I'm glad they did, because Jon contacted me a few days later apologizing for the delayed response on Yelp and asked if I could continue the conversation via email(hence my original note in this review). There was a princess tree or something of that nature that sprouted up last year and needed to go as it was getting out of control, my wife wanted weeds removed, washed rocks, and peonies in front. In the back we also finally decided to finish our walkway with flagstone. Jon was great to work with, responding to both texts and emails for verifications and changes throughout the process and pricing was competitive. Very happy with the end result and how quickly Jon and his team were able to finish everything. I highly recommend Bio Rich Green Care and I am looking forward to working with them in the future.

C&L's price is reasonable and they do great work. It is a family business and it is easy to communicate with any of them. The grandfather does the estimates (and does ground work). The sons go up in the trees and do most of the cutting, and in the summer, I think the 3rd generation helps. I have recommended them to friends who have been pleased with C&L's work. I've used them to cut out dead limbs from giant oak trees, cut down large trees that were diseased or damaged by storms, and I've had them grind stumps. One job I had was a three day job. Robert is very nice and communication prior to the job was good, although it took a bit longer than I expected to schedule the work. Things rapidly went downhill once the job started. What should have been a 1 1/2 day job took 6 days. The patio work was performed by a sub-contractor and was a complete disaster. The crew spent half of their time talking on the phone instead of working. They started late in the day almost every day and worked until dark , so they couldn't see what they were doing and had to come back the next day again and again. They made huge mess and did not clean up properly at the end of the job. I had to pick up all the small rocks and sticks that were left behind in our yard and our neighbor's yard. We are not happy with the patio - some of the slate slabs aren't level so our furniture doesn't sit correctly. We do like the plants that were installed and most seem to be doing fine after about 6 weeks - although several have mushrooms growing on the base. They have a one year warranty on the plants, so the one plant that died will be replaced in the fall. However, they didn't completely remove the roots of the old plants and they keep growing back. Every week or so I have to dig more of those roots and plants up. Overall I would say that this company has potential but they have a lot of issues to work out. If you stick to landscaping and don't hire them to do hard scapes, you might have a better experience than we did.

Fidel Alfaro and his crew did an excellent job removing an enormous silver maple from my backyard. At its largest point, the stump was almost 8 feet in diameter! My yard has very limited access, which required Fidel to use a crane to lift every piece of the tree over my house with his crane. I was very concerned about selecting the right company to safely operate a crane over my house. Now that the job is complete, I am very happy that I selected Alfaros Tree Experts. It was a full day effort to dismantle the tree and stack all the lumber in front of the house. After filling his large chipper truck to its capacity the first day, Fidel and his crew returned the next day to collect the remaining limbs and to grind the stump. - Experienced, hardworking, friendly crew. Clearly experts in safely dismantling large trees, and with operating every piece of equipment, especially the crane. - Responsive to my requests throughout the day - made certain to avoid damage to a dogwood by the log staging area, and kept driveway clear. - Fast quote - Fidel arrived the day after I contacted him. - Competitive quote - $2k less than the quote from an arborist I'd hired before. - Job completed quickly. What a great experience! I never thought I would say that about have a tree removed from our garden on Adams Dr SS. Last November I had contracted with a company from Annapolis to remove a large tulip popular from our back garden. After 9 weeks of delays and excuses the company came back and informed me that they wanted an additional $600 to complete the job. I found a coupon for Alfaros Tree Experts in a Valpak envelope and placed a call. The following day Fidel (the owner), dropped by and gave me a quote on the spot - it was fair price and I signed up for him to do the work. Two days later he and his team arrived on time and using a large crane had the entire tree removed in two hours with zero damage to my garden. Alfaro's Tree Experts quote was reasonable, and the work was performed in a very timely and professional manner. When it comes to cutting down trees and grinding stumps I don't see how it could have been done better. Alfaro's uses a very professional modern internet based business interface to keep you informed of appointments, quotes, deposits, etc. In addition they maintain an office administrator that I contacted for any general questions and it was easy to contact Fidel for specific job related concerns or questions. Their performance was thorough, used a crane to ensure a safe and efficient job for a very large ~ 80 foot high oak tree that was above a six foot retaining wall. They removed a small section of my fence and replaced it and somehow got their large stump grinding machine in my backyard. Cleanup was meticulous, they left no sign of the tree that was removed. Alfaro's team came to Asheville after the devastating storm. There were incredibly helpful taking care of blocked roads, removing trees off homes and structures and from yards and roads. It was challenging to find a tree crew in those first weeks, but Alfaro did a ton of work in my neighborhood. What impressed me the most was how professional, efficient, and clean the crew was. Plus, given the tremendous need for tree work throughout the area the prices charged were more than fair. Other companies were price gouging, but not his company that came all the way from Maryland to help. I can not say enough good things about this company. This is the second time we used Alfaro and we are very pleased with their quickness and quality of work. We had two tall trees in our backyard one dead and one almost dead and some trimmings on the other trees. The dead one was right next to our deck so Fidel recommends that we use the crane to reach to the back of the roof and to the trees. He was able to give us a quote on the spot. The day of the removal, a 100ft crane drove up our driveway and the men began to work on taking the two trees down piece by piece. They also cleaned up very nicely and hauled everything away. One thing I can say is they love their job. All the positive reviews are spot on with my experience. I had three trees cut down and two trimmed. They left the site very clean and stacked the logs from the trees in the back exactly as request. Even did a little extra trimming one tree that we both agreed needed it. One tree was rotting from the inside as we had several branches break already. Unfortunately, as they hauled away part of that tree, a branch broke off and damaged the deck. They came back and fixed the deck to my complete satisfaction (actually better than it was before). I have already recommended Alfaro to several neighbors for their tree work, and I whole heartedly recommend them to you. read more

We've hired Alfaro's Tree Experts multiple times now and they have done an amazing job each time. During the estimate, they explained everything that needed to be done and which trees were unhealthy and needed to be removed and which just needed to be pruned. They did a great job removing three extremely large trees right near our house and grinding the stumps, removing some large shrubs, and trimming other trees. They were very careful with the machinery and very thorough taking care of everything and cleaning up. We have used Alfaros twice: fair price and good results. The first time was a few years ago. We had Alfaros remove a large dying pine tree from our back yard. First was a few years ago, they removed the limbs, then used a crane to reach into the yard to lift out limbs and large sections of the tree trunk. The second time was last fall when I had Alfaros work on another tree removing branches which were overhanging our roof and trim an overgrown Crape Myrtle. Alfaros responded promptly and professionally with a quote. The work was quickly scheduled, the service was courteously performed and the crew left the work area clean. My property was one of many that suffered tremendous tree damage during hurricane Helene in Asheville, NC. The guys from Alfaro's were amazing! They worked into the nights cutting, hauling, cleaning up and seemingly never took a break. There were some tricky pieces of work--trees on decks, and several leaning into the road. No problem! I called the number from the flier I received in the mail and spoke to Fidel. He made an appointment to come the same day to give me an estimate. I had 4 trees removed and about 6 more trimmed and cleaned up (dead limbs). His price was better than a couple others I had spoken to and their work was excellent. The trees they trimmed look great and they carefully removed the 4 trees and cut the wood I wanted to the length I requested. We had a problem with a huge branch that broke off our tree down our driveway and hit our neighbor's roof. I called Alfero's tree service and they were at our house within an hour. They brought out a full crew that cut up the entire tree and stump and took away all of the tree that day. They did a fantastic job and left no debris. Found these guys through quick Google search as local solution in Germantown/Clarksburg. At first we had little bit trouble connecting to schedule the free estimate, but then the owner personally came and give us the estimate that was better than the other local ones we received. The day of the service they came on time, did amazing job and really fast! Best Tree Service We Ever Had Alfaros Tree Experts are fantastic. The tree which needed to come down was HUGE. Alfaros used a crane to do the job - much safer for the workers! We really like Fidel. He is very professional and friendly. They came at around 8:30 and finished up around 1:00. I should have looked more carefully at the reviews - there are some troubling ones in the filtered section, and almost all of the 5 star ones are from new Yelp accounts with barely any reviews. Never a good sign.

These were pretty large, 75-100 year old trees. It was a two day job but it went off without a hitch. They cleaned up nicely after themselves too, leaving fewer branches than were on the ground even before they started and they also swept them off my roof for good measure. While it's not ever going to be a cheap job, I think the price they charged was fair for a full two day job of dangerous work. (I don't even get on stepladders, these guys were 40 feet in the air! Saving money in the short run for a crappy job, you'll end up paying a lot more in the long run when you have someone else fix all of the mistakes. I've made that error before and paid dearly. It's the equivalent of buying cheap pants you have to replace every year, vs paying a bit more for quality pants that last a decade. Ok, sermon over. Did more awesome work! Lots of mulching and weeding. These are both jobs that are easy to do half-assed. Pull a few weeds and throw some mulch over them. Less thorough landscapers also use just a thin layer of mulch instead of a thicker layer like you are supposed to. Melvin Reyes and his crew did as good of a job as could be done. I was home and looked out every once in a while to see them painstakingly weeding and using a good thick layer of mulch throughout. Front and backyard are transformed, A plus!
