The Best! Professional, safe, courteous, prompt, responsive, friendly, and clean. We had a 70-foot tree that was dead and a good amount of additional tree trimming/clean-up. I got multiple quotes and they were very competitive. The job ended up taking longer than one day and they cleaned everything up before they stopped for the day. They did a great job for a very good price and they were very pleased to deal with from the beginning to the end - everyone I interacted with was professional with great attitudes. One of their employees was scheduled to service a house a few down from mine. Instead of double-checking the address, they repeatedly banged on our door while my toddler was trying to nap. I wasn't expecting anyone and didn't feel safe answering the door in the middle of the day to an unknown male so I ignored him and hoped he would move on. Instead, he decided it was his right to walk around to the back of my house and open the locked gate and start wondering through our backyard. At this point I was extremely scared of what was going on and yelled through an open window at him. His only response was "thought this was another house". When I told him he should check and double check addresses before walking into someone else's backyard his response was "why don't you call my boss about it". Very rude, and unprofessional to say that least. On top of all that he also didn't relock the gate on his way out and our dog got out that afternoon. If this is how they treat what they think are customers I want nothing more to do with this company. This employee should be ashamed of himself! Don't pay him until it's completely done! We hired him to remove ten very large old trees over 40 ft tall and from 2 to 3 ft in diameter from a residential lot, including the stumps. He promised to cut smaller limbs into stove-size pieces -everything else would be cleaned up & hauled away. It was tricky - Some were leaning towards power lines or neighbor's roofs. He had all the right equipment and decided to hire an extra crew to get it done in one day. BUT... I gave him the check before the banks closed and they started working on neighbor's trees before they finished = They left two stumps and trailer loads of wood chunks too big to lift. read more

I had a huge limb fall in my yard during the strong wind 2 weeks ago and everyone was too busy to come out, so I saw a recommendation for Lee's on our neighborhood listserv. I called and they were very pleasant and said that they could come out as soon as tomorrow. Lee came out, he was very personable, prompt, up front and he took care of the limb on the spot. This place was fantastic! They are excellent communicators and show up on time and work hard until the job is done. Removed 5 large trees and did some stump grinding for us. Pricing was reasonable and similar to other services. Very honest and performed the word exactly as the contract stated. We didn't need to be here to supervise the work. Researched for a tree service company. Lee's sounded professional with 4 good reviews (with only 9 bad/so so and 144 good on Angie), collected information and then researched the license @ Maryland Department of Natural Resources, nothing found. Tried name of company, name of owner and even the license # listed on website (118). So even though these people have glowing reviews I won't hire them without being licensed as I don't need more problems. Not sure if insured as I never contacted the company. read more

I have been doing business with Lee's Tree Service for 20 years. I have always been satisfied with the customer service provided and the quality of work performed. From the office staff, to the tree crews to Lee himself I have consistently received polite and attentive service. The prices charged have always been competitive. The crews are professional. The take downs and pruning are done with skill. My landscape is treated with as much care as is possible. After the work is done the crew cleans up diligently. My town hired Lee's to remove a tree bordering two homes. Their first visit out was to remove limbs. I was home working that day. About 2p my internet service went out. I asked the crew if they clipped any lines, they denied. Lost the afternoon of work due to lack of connectivity. Comcast was out the following morning and provided their assessment that the connection was dislodged. Contacted Lee's to discuss and I got a dismissive business equivalent of 'thoughts and prayers' basically saying that there was no way I could prove the crew did it so that was their response. There were apparently other hiccups such as the second phase of taking down the trunk when residents weren't provided adequate proactive notice due to what the town called miscommunication by the contractor as well as the third phase of stump removal which didn't initially happen on the day scheduled but a week later. Perhaps Lee's will blame that on the town as well since they seem to dodge any responsibility for inconveniencing residents impacted by this job. read more

Update. I called them back to remove more trees after the big storm. They wanted to charge more than double to remove smaller trees than what I had cut down before. On the one hand, I was taken aback and not pleased... on the other hand, it was consistent with what other tree companies were charging post-storm. I guess their bargain prices (like that of other companies) depends on the season. Maybe wait until the winter to cut down your trees to get a deal. read more

Just had two very large trees taken down .. the crews were professional and courteous and worked with my artist friends who wanted slices of my cedar tree (had asked ahead) .. both the take-down and stump removal crews left my place clean and neat .. I think they are excellent. Gave us a very reasonable quote, which was a pleasant surprise after the one we got from someone else. Did everything that had to be done, cleaned up everything and even what wasn't caused by them (some dry leaves that piled up on the steps - a little thing but I appreciate). As soon as you call them, you get a sense that the business is run professionally and efficiently. The communication is excellent. This was the first time we used them, but should we need tree service again we'll definitely think of them first. read more

Very honest and careful work done with many large trees in my backyard. There was some confusion in terms of the work to be done, so the owner showed up and we had that cleared out. The staff worked really hard trimming trees and did not hesitate to throw some extra work if asked. read more

Had them remove 2 large trees from townhouse yard, price was very reasonable. They had to work around parked cars on an uneven hill. When I got home, the trees were gone, stumps ground down, debris cleaned up, and somehow they managed to avoid stepping on 5 hostas planted around the tree. I checked to make sure no debris was on the parked cars and both were clean. Very nice job. Have used them in the past, would use them again, and recommend them to others. read more
