Our neighbor had his huge sycamores removed from this team years ago and recommended them for price, professionalism, availability, and sheer skill/knowledge of their craft. Imagine my surprise when our neighbor on the other side hired them before we did and you can't even tell where the trees were. Didn't damage grass, no debris left behind, and was finished removing one large oak and four smaller trees by three. Incredible. I finally decided to get an estimate on numerous trees and the gentleman came out immediately and priced out each tree separately so we could pick ala carte what we preferred and stayed within budget. Scheduled them same day- couldn't beat their prices and timeliness- had availability within the week. Team arrived on time, appropriately dressed, and in friendly moods. They wasted no time scouting out the trees we had selected and immediately got to work. I watched like a child at an imax theater. Just so wowed and impressed how every team member had their role, maintained safety, and orchestrated the various projects with ease. They had the most impressive tools and biggest toys to get the job done fast yet safely. (The man who did the quotes had been doing this since the 90s and has since trained younger guys to scale the trees- and the wisdom training shows. With that said- it's nice to see "management" buy the workers the top line equipment because it truly makes the job easier, faster, and safer!) remote control tree stump grinder, anyone? Wood chipper that snarled through branches the size of small trees like tiny twigs. Wicked. One service they offered I wasn't aware of was pruning trees. We have a massive oak looming over our front yard and driveway. The owner saw the dead branches and recommended them get pruned so branches stop falling on the driveway where our children frequently walk and play under. Sold. I watched the tree climber guy climb up into cloud level heights that made me question if I put him in danger. Nope. He navigated the whole tree and shimmied more dead branches off than I was aware were up there. Money well spent and a recommendation we'll made! Will only suggest this friendly crew to anyone needing tree services... incredible. read more

They cut down some large trees and moved heavy stumps for me. Their price was excellent!

Santa Elena did a great job on a medium tree. Price was very good. The people are very professional. The workers were gracious, smart, thorough and cleaned up after themselves. Great service! Even my neighbors commented on what a great job Santa Elena did! read more

Highly recommend. Beto and his crew did an outstanding job for a very reasonable price. We will definitely use this company again!

Beto quickly responded to my request for a quote to remove a big maple tree from our yard. They provided a great and removed the tree and ground the stump a few days later. The team worked quickly and did a tremendous job cleaning. We wouldn't hesitate to use again if we need more tree work! read more

Beto and his crew are fantastic. Very responsive. Accurate assessment. Reasonably priced. Very efficient. And responsible. I had several companies come to assess and provide a quote for a giant Poplar tree (maybe 100+ yrs old) on my property that was struck by lightening a year ago. The tree was full of leaves in the Spring, except for one large branch. But in the Summer the leaves had turn brown, much more than all the trees around it, and several good size branches were falling off. Beto and one other company told me the tree was dying and there was no way to save it. Sure enough, after it was cut down you can see that the center of the trunk was burnt and black with a hole almost a foot in diameter. (The tree trunk itself was about 5 feet in diameter.) Beto's men came on the scheduled day to cut the tree down. One guy climb up the tree and started cutting, while 3-4 guys on the ground collected the branches and carried them to the driveway to the shredder. The tree's branches filled one entire truck. Then came the big branches and the trunk. They brought in a Bobcat (compact tractor) to move those large pieces and placed them into another truck. They lined my grass with wood planks to minimize the damage from the tractor. They also used wood planks to protect my beautiful vinyl fence but unfortunately two fence panels were damage from some of the branches. They told me they would come back and fix the fence. It look another month for me to find and order the correct parts. Once the parts arrived I contacted Beto, and sure enough he brought his guys back. They not only fix the two fence panels they damaged, but they also fixed a third panel for me that was not damage by them. They totally went above and beyond. Very pleasant to work with. I would definitely recommend them. read more

I have used this company several times over the years and have been totally pleased with their work each time. Most recently they cut down a huge dead tree, ground 3 tree stumps, and trimmed many dead tree limbs on 10 October. Beto, the owner, and Danko, the estimator, and their team are fantastic: very reasonable prices, promptly scheduled me within days, are professional, friendly, respectful of landscaping, polite, and very efficient. The team cleans up well after the work is done. This continues to be my "go to" tree service company. There is no need to waste time obtaining other estimates. read more

I had a big tree on my property in D.C. that I needed removed from my back yard. Berto was friendly, responsive, and helpful. His team came the day they were scheduled and arrived fully prepared to cut down the tree safely and professionally. They cut the tree down, ground the stump, and removed all the wood chips. They were excellent. I would highly recommend them. read more

My neighbor referred this company to me, for a fallen tree and they're fantastic! Came out next day (today) to do the job. Their crew was absolutely professional, kind and efficient. Clean up was great! Just overall A+ company! Thank you for providing your stellar services! read more

I hired Santa Elena Tree Services to remove a large red maple tree that was close to two houses and to trim an oak tree that had limbs hanging over the roof. They responded to my request for an estimate very quickly even though it was a holiday. Their bid was the lowest by far of the four I got. The crew showed up within 24 hours of me giving the go ahead, worked very quickly and they were very careful not to hurt the grass or other trees. They cleaned up thoroughly. Great company! I highly recommend them! read more

prompt, efficient and fair pricing. will call on them again. very professional. highly recommend.

Outstanding service trimming large tree in front yard and cleaning up afterwards. They were thorough, professional, friendly.

These guys are great--professional, quick, friendly, neat, and very reasonably priced. I got 10 bids and they were by far the least expensive, so it saved us hundreds if not thousands of dollars. Beto knows his stuff and was sensitive to our price constraints; he wasn't eager to remove trees unnecessarily as some of his competitors are. read more

Beto the owner and his team did a awesome job cleaning my tree and removing stumps. I have used him many occasion and still quotes the cheapest. I have recommend him to many friends and family read more

These guys have done my tree work in Lake Barcroft for 5 years. They are professional, neat, polite and very efficient. They are also 1/2 the price of the other competitors - I know this from estimates in the past. The other guys pull up in a new F350 King Ranch truck to give an estimate - these guys drive clean, less fancy trucks and it shows in the estimates. The prices are not "too good to be true"...they are true. Their equipment is clean and it is truly are an "art" to watch them take down a tree without the "crane" ($$$) or other equipment needed by the competitors. They have done work for me when I was out of town twice, and I could not even tell they were here! read more

They did a great job removing 4 dead trees (& cleaning up afterward) for a very reasonable price.

These guys are simply amazing. We had a fallen tree last year, it collapsed on our deck. These guys took care of it within three hours, same day. Besides that, they waited for the payment from us for 10 months, which was totally my fault, dealing with the insurance and everything else, I admit I completely forgot eventually. Today when I gave them the check, they told me I am paying too much. I honestly blown away by integrity and work ethics. I can recommend them above any service I ever dealt with. Not just a prompt and great job they did, but they also are patient and honest beyond believe. read more

These guys are fantastic. We have used them for several tree removals including a very complicated and large overhanging oak. They are consistently cheaper than other services, they are great people to have around and work with, and they do exactly what they say they are going to do. Incredible clean up, too. Would absolutely recommend getting a bid from them. read more

My husband and I came back from vacation to find several branches down in our backyard after a storm. I contacted Falls Church City for a list of arborists to contact and Santa Elena was one of the two with the highest Yelp rating. I called and left a message and the owner called me back on his cell. We set up a time for him to come by for a free estimate. He was 20 minutes late for the appointment--which maybe is typical in this field of work but still annoying. Very friendly in person and gave what I thought to be an extremely reasonable estimate for the work we agreed upon. It was $275 to remove 4-5 branches, some very high up, and remove all debris. Considering that Falls Church City charges $75 for brush pick-up this is a good deal. Maybe there was some miscommunication somewhere but from my end we had agreed he would come the next Tuesday and he never showed up. It was drizzling outside, so maybe that's why, but I was still a little confused. They came the next Wednesday with 3 or 4 men working and it took about 2 hours to get everything done. Watching them climb up in those trees was crazy and really made me feel like I was getting a bargain since they were getting a job done that I would never been able to do myself. Terrifying career choice. I had the payment waiting for them but no one ever rang the doorbell and then they were gone all of a sudden. The owner called me saying that I wasn't home when they stopped by for the payment but my husband and I both work from home so we definitely were--it was all just a little confusing for me. They did a good job and were reasonably priced but I wish there had been clearer communication. I would still recommend. read more

Work was great, cleanup was great & price was very affordable. Thank you Beto & crew.

This is a wonderful tree removal company. They have done multiple jobs for me and each one was done very well. Their employees are very nice, highly skilled and professional. After the last large storm we had they arrived within 24hrs after I contacted them for a very large, unstable tree branch that was resting against the house. read more

They were great. We have used them twice now to handle projects. The first project was to trim branches overhanging from a neighbor's yard and I was really awed by how they managed to do all of it without going into our neighbor's yard! We recently used them to remove trees that fell down due to the major wind storm we had and they were really fast. read more

The Santa Elena tree crew did an amazing job taking down two trees and trimming others away from the house. They worked all day, cut wood to chopping length (since we requested that it be left), stacked it and left the property better than they found it! They were also the lowest bid...a great price and well worth the investment! We can't wait to recommend their services to friends and family! read more

We had a large dead oak tree in our front yard which needed removal. It was in a tricky spot, on a hill by the road next to power lines. We had 5 companies give estimates, and each one said it would be a tough job and then they'd need special equipment to get over the power lines. Santa Elena then came over, took a quick look around, made no fuss about the job and quoted us a far lower price than their competitors. I will say that communication was not great, and I didn't always hear back immediately when I left voicemails, but once we had the job scheduled, they came on the planned day and took a whole tree down inside of an afternoon. They worked carefully, caused no damage to the surroundings, cleaned up beautifully, and that was it. I'm sure other companies would have done as good a job, but these guys were so much cheaper that it's a no-brainer. read more

They were Awesome! Had a reasonable bid, were very nice and professional. They left the yard better than they found it...and hung the tree swing. Really a great crew. read more

We had a crew here today to remove a small dead tree and prune a few other larger trees and were very impressed with the work they did for a reasonable price. They worked quickly and efficiently and cleaned up well afterwards. I needed a 75 yr old, dead oak removed from a spot adjacent to my deck and 10 feet from my house. The Santa Elena crew were the best team of workers I have had in years. Because the tree was so close to the house, all limbs had to be lowered with ropes. There was no room for large equipment, so it was all hand cut. Fantastic job! Great price! Friendly, highly skilled professional team! Couldn't be happier! read more

The owner was out of the country but his substitute (Dan) came to give me an estimate on the day I called. The crew arrived on time and worked very fast. They cut some very large branches above the roof of our house and a small tree. They did a very good job. read more

We just had Santa Elena Tree Service remove a very large tulip poplar from our backyard. They did a fantastic job! I got quotes for the four most highly rated tree services from Checkbook. Santa Elena was the lowest quote. Beto, the owner was very helpful in providing insurance papers and explaining what they would do. He is a very good communicator. The amazing pros worked very hard and very diligently, carefully taking down this tree which was right next to our deck. They removed two truckloads of wood. They cleaned up perfectly after they were done. You'd never know they were here (except that the tree is gone). As requested, they carefully protected both our deck and the two holly trees that were right next to the tree they took down. I HEARTILY recommend Santa Elena Tree Service. If you need tree work done, I sure recommend them. read more

Great service. Very prompt and the best value that I found after shopping around. They removed a large old Maple tree that was nearly falling over on our home. Other companies told me that it was too dangerous for them to tackle. Not Santa Elena. The crew was professional, had all the right gear, were able to add on some additional work requests and even cleaned out my brush pile (without me even asking!). These guys are great and I would highly recommend for anyone looking for tree services. read more

I manage a dental office in Arlington and we were looking to have a huge, dying black walnut tree removed. I called Santa Elena and Bert was here within the half hour. An estimate was given and work scheduled for just a few days later. They came to remove it this morning and within an hour and a half the work was done and it looked like it was never there. Everyone was very polite too. Great price. We have another tree to get rid of in a few months, so we will definitely call again! read more

I found these guys on Yelp and am very happy I did. They work was well done and they were very concerned to make sure we were satisfied. They even did a little extra for us at no charge when we realized we needed some extra branches trimmed. Price was very reasonable too. I will definitely use them again. read more

We had a large rotting maple tree with large roots in our front yard that was creating issues for our home. We reached out to four tree service companies and decided to go with Santa Elena for a variety of reasons. First, Beto (Mgr/Owner), was a pleasure to work with and was recommended by a neighbor. He responded to me within one hour of contacting him. He came by for the estimate the next day. He provided us with a very reasonable quote and provided us a thorough description of the work we needed. I appreciated that bc he actually listened to me. He communicated the process, scheduled ms. utility, and arrived to do the work on the day we expected him. He was punctual, reliable, and his price could not be matched. His team was very professional, worked efficiently (so fast), and did a great job all around. They also cleaned up our yard and the neighbors to ensure any debris was removed. They had to grind the stump and roots without issues. My husband and I are so happy we went with this company. We will absolutely use them again. I highly recommend them for your tree removal needs. read more

We have used several tree companies in our 52 years in the Falls Church area. The Best in price and service has been Santa Elena! In 2013 they removed two trees and stumps. In 2014 they removed many limbs from four large trees. All of the work was done at a very reasonable rate. Thanks gentlemen for a job well done! read more

I has used the company repeatedly. Their service is the best and prices fair. They have removed 4 very large trees, and the last time they also cut the tree and split the wood for me. The crews are efficient, polite and leave the site completely clean. I read more

We could not have been more pleased with the service we received from Santa Elena Tree Services. Following an ice storm in our area, we had a birch tree that looked like it was ready to fall on both our and our neighbor's homes any minute. We called Santa Elena before business hours in the morning and they were at our house 45 minutes later to look at the tree and give us an estimate. Given the urgency of the situation, they certainly could have overcharged us -- the tree had to come down -- but the quote they provided was quite reasonable, particularly given the circumstances. Less than an hour and a half later, the tree had been taken down safely and efficiently. We would absolutely use this company again. read more

I had a good experience with Santa Elena Tree Services. The job was to remove one dead tree, about 50 feet tall, and 2 feet in diameter. The tree is within 15 feet of our house and the adjacent neighbor's. The estimator came within a day of when I called. He gave me a written estimate that was significantly less than two other quotes I got from five-star-rated Yelp competitors. The crew came on time as scheduled, and the job was done efficiently and without incident. Cleanup was good too. I would definitely recommend. read more

Santa Elena took down two really large tulip poplar trees in our yard (one in the back yard, one on the side of the house). They were great at keeping in contact and keeping us posted. The job took two days, with several days in between because of heavy rain. They showed up super early both mornings, and they worked FAST and carefully. They also ground the stumps down. ... all for significantly less than all other quotes we got, insurance and all included. So glad we held out and got a quote from them before signing anything with others. You would be crazy not to call them before making a decision. Seriously. read more

Very pleased with work. Two things - website says you can use credit card but workers said I had to pay by check. Not happy about that. Also work was to be done yesterday and when I called, no apology. Still, would use them again. They work very hard and do good job of cleaning up. read more
