We needed some large trees trimmed. Adirondack provided a knowledgeable quote for the work (which turned out to be the cheapest of the 3 quotes we got) and seemed honest. For example, they told us we could wait to have some privacy trees trimmed which made us feel like they weren't upselling us. They were great about making sure we involved our neighbors for a tree on the shared property line. They communicated well about timing of the work. On the day, a team of 4 or 5 guys came out bright and early and well equipped. They did a great job and put on an impressive climbing/ acrobat show for the neighborhood! Adirondack trimmed four trees on my property today. The estimator who had come earlier, Dan Miller, was knowledgeable, pleasant and easy to work with. I wanted more work done on the property, but he insisted it was the wrong season for conifers and that I needed to call in a few months. The work was scheduled within two weeks, and the crew members were quick, with good cleanup. The trees were artfully trimmed and look great, with cuts done with the health of the tree in mind. Adirondack is hands-down one of the best service providers I've had the pleasure of doing business with. I've used them twice now, and both times have been fantastic. The first time I used them was when a tree of mine fell across my fence and also damaged my neighbor's shed. I needed them to provide separate estimates for my property and my neighbor's property (with them doing the work for both), provide a separate estimate for just my property (in case my neighbor chose to use another tree company), and all of the estimates needed to include all the breakdowns the insurance companies needed. They provided it all, with appropriate details to spell everything out for everyone, and also included printed copies of their liability insurance info, plus all state-required certifications and licenses. All right there, on the spot, at the time of the estimate. Super professional. Their estimators are knowledgeable, helpful, and extremely patient (I ask a lot of questions). They've given me excellent advice, and I've never felt they are trying to sell me anything I don't need. As we all know, though, the actual experience is ultimately dependent on the completed job. I truly respect yelp reviews. With that said, this company truly disappointed me. I've worked in a number of businesses related to real estate and real estate management and I've never seen such carelessness. Here's the thing, you give me a call warning the week before to tell me you are still scheduled to come the following week. I get called up on a project I have the potential to make a fair amount but I obviously committed this 1 hour to a service, so I work around it. That ONE hour comes up and you never inform me you are here. The hour was 2-3. At 2:15 I saw an envelope with the estimate. Unfortunately, if you would have simply rang a door bell or knocked on the door, I would have answered and talked with you. Instead, you did the easy and evaluated some general concept. So I asked, and the answer was how well they minimize damage to surrounding area and cleanup. Adirondack was of the 3 firms, the highest priced quote but decided to go with them as I had lots of surrounding plants, ornamentals, and a wood fence that could be damaged. While I paid more, as others have written here, they did an outstanding job. A City arborist issued a permit for the tree removal - free of charge - because the tree was in decline. I received estimates from more than eight companies. Adirondack was the least expensive. And, I received positive recommendations for Adirondack from neighbors. They arrived on schedule, as promised. And, they were organized and worked diligently to remove the tree limbs one-by-one.
