One part of the contract wasn't quite done, but a quick email from me had them out within a day to finish the job. I contracted with Moyers a few days ago to have a Green Emerald Arborvitae installed in my front yard and also signed up for general yard clean-up, to include weeding and mulching and planting of ground cover. (I have a rather large backyard that consists of lawn, hardscaping, and a lengthy blue gravel driveway. The yard also features a 5' W x 50' L raised garden bed planted with various dwarf evergreens trees and deciduous plants. It is a lot of yard and I find it next to impossible to keep it looking neat and orderly.) The Moyers landscaping team, led by Danny, arrived on the exact day and time promised (no rescheduling on their end; what a blessing in this day and age). I watched the team working from my windows and could not believe how hardworking and efficient they were. The crew was absolutely dedicated to the work at hand and cut no corners. In short, they exceeded my every expectation. On Day 2, I was greeted at my door by Danny for the walk through of the completed work. I couldn't believe my eyes. I am not exaggerating when I say that my yard was transformed. I was so bowled over that I became emotional -- to the point of tears, and I do not cry easily. Needless to say, I will hire them again and have even signed on for their Platinum Lawn Maintenance Program. In my experience, Moyers is top notch -- but don't take my word for it. Denchfield has consistently kept our yard looking nice at a reasonable price…read more Unfortunately, we have to discontinue service with them after 4-5 years because they have proven themselves incapable of providing advance notice before applying toxic pesticides to our yard. We have a dog with chronic kidney failure who runs free in the backyard, so it's critical for us to know when there will be chemicals in the yard that he should not be exposed to for 48 hours. Not only do we receive no advance notice, but we have sometimes discovered Denchfield employees applying pesticides to the yard *while the dog was following them around out there.* How absurd! We complained repeatedly, but to no avail. This week Denchfield applied pesticide without warning or permission (or contract--we have yet to renew for the year) to our yard for the last time. We are outraged. In addition to forcing us to keep the dog out of the yard for the next two days, this puts a serious damper on our upcoming weekend, which we were planning to spend doing yard work. In fact, this more or less ruins our spring planting. We've been told that new grass, which we were wanted to seed this weekend, will not sprout for up to 6 weeks after application of weed killer.

They completely misled us on the scope of work for the back and planted the front in late fall, just as the weather turned cold. And the cost was astronomical! I contacted Nature's Friends to sort out my issues and Cliff was over at my house in no time. He talked through any prior water retention issues I had, and came up with a plan to future proof our house from any flooding that could happen with big storms. The crew were back out within a few days and executed the plan as Cliff specified. The laborers placed one of the pop-ups a little too close to the house, and without any intervention, the day-of-supervisor spoke with me to let me know they would extend it according to plan, and corrected everything. They also replaced my sump pump, which was not the easiest thing due to a seized grate closure (see pics), and at a fraction of the price quoted by plumbers. I was really impressed with how quick everything was completed, and for a job like this (digging long trenches to run PVC), my yard looks nearly immaculate. They gave me instructions to heal the grass patches so my lawn would look as it did before in no time. After the work was done, Cliff reached out to make sure all was working well when it rained. I highly recommend reaching out to Nature's Friend for any of your needs -- you can tell they really care about their customers, and I will be reaching out to them for any future landscaping needs.
